Lucy POV-
Busy watching the body shots being taken after her she felt her head spin a little. Lucy hadn't been this drunk in a long while. It was nice for a change just to let go, but it was also a little irritating that all the barriers in her head no longer seemed to exist. She had barely noticed that Levy had been abducted by who she thought was Gajeel. She had been aware of the unconscious man on the sofa next to them, she'd called some of her stronger friends and helped removing him and getting him the help he needed. When he was out of her sight he was also out of her worry. She would usually follow to see that he got the help he needed, but tonight she had let go of all that. And it felt so good! Shot after shot made her head even fuzzier. She was talking to some guy from another club, she wasn't really into the conversation, she had noticed Natsu lurking around like he had been for a while now. What was up with that? Her mind didn't really comprehend what would have made him start this weird behaviour. She'd asked Mira if she knew what's up, she'd just shrugged. She tried to talk to Juvia about it, but it didn't lead her anywhere. In the corner of her eye she saw Natsu walking around a table, beer clutched hard in his hand, staring at her. She was annoyed about it, what the hell was his deal!? Just as she left the guy sitting next to her and started to walk towards the pink haired creep, she bumped in to what seemed like a huge hairy wall. She looked up, annoyed out of her mind and put on a pouty-face as she stared into Gajeels eyes.
"Excuse you!" she said and crossed her arms over her chest. Gajeel looked unfazed and just looked down at Lucy.
"Hey Lucy!" She heard beside her and turned, irritated towards who interrupted her oncoming brawl with Gajeel. But her irritation faded when she looked into the big, silly grin of Levy.
"Where did you go!?" Lucy exclaimed. "You missed the body shots on Cana!" she said and forgot all about lurking people and big hairy walls.
As Levy explained to Lucy that she had had to help Gajeel with something, Lucy couldn't help but to notice how clingy Gajeel seemed. Maybe he was drunk as well, seeing as it would explain why he was acting so out of character. Levy didn't seem to mind though, like it was like this all the time. Confused Lucy nudged Levys shoulder and motioned for her to come closer.
"What's up?" Levy whispered when they were huddled together. Gajeel had gone to get Levy a drink, so he was out of the way anyway, but Lucy felt better like this, knowing people knew they were talking in private. Or that's what her drunken mind was telling her at least.
"Why does Gajeel seem like he's your lapdog?" Lucy asked and took a sip of her drink. Levy instantly blushed and shrugged a little, but when Lucy kept staring at her, waiting for an answer she budged.
"Fine!" She giggled and leaned a little closer to Lucy and whispered in her ear what had happened.
"O good lord!" Lucy exclaimed. As Levy shushed her Lucy bit her lip and thought for a while. "Well I get what happened, but why is he so clingy?" she asked.
"Well…" Levy said and scratched her cheek. "He's asked me to be his mate, it's something dragons do apparently." She said and giggled a little. "It kind of means he wants to date me I think, and I think it also means that if I'll be his mate it'll be a little like marriage." She said and shrugged. "But I don't know, he was really vague and I'm drunk!" she giggled. Lucy giggled with her and then shook her head.
"Silly Gajeel, he's not a dragon." She giggled.
"I know right! But dragon slayers are a little dragon, he's told me." Levy said and shrugged.
"So, what? He just figured it out?" Lucy asked and took another sip.
"I don't know, ask Natsu, he's a dragon slayer too." Levy said and laughed. Behind her Gajeel walked closer and closer.
"Shoot, alright, I'll ask him instead. He's been acting real strange so." Lucy said and gave Levy a quick hug. "No more sneaking off with Mr. Redfox now Miss." Lucy winked and walked towards where she last saw Natsu.
Walking around in the big room she didn't really have an easy task finding him, but seeing as he had been practically stalking her all day and all evening, he shouldn't be far. She didn't see him around his usual friends, she didn't find him at the bar an she didn't find him in the brawl happening outside. She took a long deep sigh and thought back on the day. When she had gotten back he had been almost insane and attacked her at the door, he had done that because he had found her right. She thought it might be because of the fact that dragon slayers had a better nose than the rest of them. Maybe if she made herself not smell anymore… But she didn't really know how to do that. She stood outside for a while, looking at the people fighting and all of those who didn't want to fight just cheer the others on. She had been certain that this was where Natsu would be. But she had been wrong. She turned and was about to walk back in again to look for Natsu, or go drink some more – she hadn't made up her mind yet. She turned and to her surprise there he stood, staring at her with big eyes and was breathing hard.
"Hi Natsu!" She said and smiled wide. "I was looking for you!" She said and took a step towards him. Natsu just stood there looking at her. "I wanted to ask you some things and I also wanted to thank you for helping me earlier with the bike!" she said and kept smiling.
"Sure." Was all he said. Looking at him she would have noticed that he was looking irritated, strained and his eyes had another tint and his fists were shaking. But she didn't notice these things, she was way too drunk and she really didn't care now that he was acting weird, she'd have to handle that later when she was sober. Walking next to him she did notice that he was rather tense, like he was holding something in.
"What's up?" She asked and looked at her and sat down at an empty table. He didn't answer and just looked at her. "C'mon Natsu! Tell me! I can't stand it when you're quiet, it's disturbingly unusual for you to not talk too much!" It was now her turn to stare at him. He dragged his hands through his hair and looked at her for a long time before he opened his mouth.
"Nothing much, I'm just worried you got in a fight you couldn't handle!" He said and smiled wide. Lucy pursed her lips and shook her head.
"I'd do just fine in a fight thank you!" she said and look a sip of her drink, it was almost out but she had a little more she could sip at. Beside her Natsu took a deep breath and sighed. "So… Do you want a little gossip?" she said and moved a little closer. Still those barriers malfunctioning, making her ignorant to personal space.
"S-sure!" Natsu said and moved away a little.
"Gajeel and Levy had sex." She whispered and looked at Natsu intensely to see his reaction. She was disappointed when all he did was to look stunned and get a little blush on his cheeks. Lucy pouted and swept all that was left in her glass.
"Hey, don't do that." Natsu exclaimed, but a second after the words left his lips he looked regretful.
"What?" she said and looked stunned.
"Never mind." Natsu said and looked at his hands.
"Oh, fine. Well, they did it and when they did it he asked her to be her mate, and since it's a dragon slayer thing I wanted to ask you about it, since Levy's drunk and I don't want to talk to Gajeel, he's been in the way too much and I'm feeling irritated." She muttered and looked at Natsu. "So, will you tell me?" she asked and smiled bright. Natsu looked dumbfounded and just kept looking at Lucy. Not really grasping the situation Lucy didn't really understand why Natsu was acting so strange. He'd been strange now for a long time, but it's been a long time since he was this quiet. She was starting to wonder if there was something she had missed, but she didn't really know what that would be. He hadn't said anything to her before about this stuff right? She shook her head and looked at Natsu again. "Hey, is there something I've missed?" She asked and moved a little closer.
"Well, I'd tell you, but since you're drunk and I'm not as sober as I want to be when I tell you this… can't we do this some other time?" he said and smiled wide. "I'm in the mood for a shot contest anyway!" he said and stood up. "Wanna lose?" he asked and gave her a suggestive look. Lucy, quick to her feel agreed and was secretly upset that he didn't want to tell her, but she knew she was a better drinker than Natsu. Maybe she could lure it out of him.
I hope you liked it, it's a little short and poor on content, but I've got writersblock but i still wanted to post something, so ~ I'm curious, who'd win the shot contest in your oppinion? ;)
