"Hmm... London sounds nice, but…" Caroline rested the little guide of the world's most attractive cities, against her chin. "… it looks like there's not much to see, and it looks boring."

Offended, Klaus gasped. "London is not dull!"

Caroline smiled and moved her leg a little, she raised it so that her knee peeked from under the hot water. "I'm sorry, if I'm offending the origins of your precious little lilt accent."

Klaus smiled showing off his dimples. "London, Cambridge, Manchester… the entire country is breath-taking, and could you please not make fun of my accent? It got me out of very unpleasant situations and kindly led me to many other pleasant ones."

Caroline rolled her eyes. "Sydney sounds interesting…" She turned pages.

Klaus placed a kiss on her cheek, enjoying the wonders of sharing a hot bath with her.

"Uh, what about Spain?" She asked excitedly, as she saw the bright and colorful pictures of Madrid and Barcelona.

"It's an eye-catching country." He commented softly.

Caroline shivered a little because his husky soothing voice was close to her ear and his strong hands were gliding up from her arm to her neck in such evil ways.

"It looks hot and fun at the same time." She whispered, when she felt his lips kiss her neck.

Klaus chuckled against her moist skin. "Of course, you would love Spain, sweetheart..." He kissed her shoulder next, while his hands traveled down to her chest.

Caroline licked her lips. "Are we going to Spain, then?" She moved her head so that she could face him.

"If you wish so, love." He smiled at her.

Caroline beamed. "Me Gusta!"

Klaus chuckled while cupping her cheek with adoration, he stroked her skin with his thumb.

Caroline loved just how his wedding band felt against her skin, it was definitely a good reminder that he was all hers for eternity.

She tossed the book away and giggled when he raised an eyebrow at her. "I'm no longer interested in that country. I find Klaus's land a lot more caliente."

Klaus laughed richly.

Teasingly, she leaned over for a kiss but instead of fully kissing him, she trailed her hand over his wonderful chest before lowering down to the water, she poked his lips with the tip of her tongue while caressing him.

Klaus moved his hands along her body, only to stop at the crook of her back to press her to him while he rolled them over.

In a swift motion, she was now under him, and a tiny wave of water put out a few of the candles surrounding them.

Caroline groaned. "Klaus… it took me a full hour to prepare this romantic bubble bath with my husband, so don't be so hasty to ruin the candle mood." She complained.

Klaus smirked. "It will take me a lot more than an hour to worship Caroline land."

"We haven't even been married for three months and already you lost the romance."

Klaus looked at her in that way that he knew messed so much with her, with his chin low and his eyes piercing through her.

"Mrs. Caroline Forbes Mikaelson, do I have your permission to make love to my wife?"

Caroline sighed dramatically. "Yes, I'll perform my wife duties."

"I'm pleased to know that." He kissed her softly on the lips.

She ran her fingers through his hair. "Will you be performing your husband duties with care?"

"To my best abilities and adoration." He smiled on the way to another kiss.

Caroline kissed him with passion, there was nothing but love and desire for him and this overwhelming happiness to be one with the man she loved.

"Niklaus..." She moaned sweetly as he moved his lips down her neck.

Rebekah dropped her phone on the table. "Unavaiable. That's all I keep getting from those two." She ranted.

Bonnie slowly turned the page on the magazine that she was reading. "They're on their honeymoon, of course, they are both unreachable."

Rebekah shook her head mad. "I still can't believe that they went and got married without me. The wedding should have been in here and I should've fought Caroline for the best choice of flowers."

Bonnie moved her head on the sofa to look at Rebekah. "They couldn't get married here. It was too soon and dangerous to get back, it still is."

The blonde squinted at Bonnie. "And don't think that I'm remotely over the fact that you hid all this ploy from us."

"I had no choice." Bonnie sighed. "I told you already, Bekah. I had to help Klaus and go along with his crazy plan."

"You lied to all of us." Rebekah pointed out upset.

"I kept things, so I didn't technically lie." Bonnie corrected her. "I omitted."

"It's the same bloody thing. We all thought that my brother was dead."

"Klaus might be crazy insane, but the plan worked."

"His plans are better than mine?" Damon asked as he walked inside of the library.

"Your plans are a calamity." Rebekah answered him, smiling as he sat next to her on the round table.

"I'm hurt." He sulked with a grumble.

Rebekah laughed. "You're incapable of such."

"I'm capable of things that would make the devil itself blush." He leaned over with a wink.

"I reckon that we have very distinct notions of the devil, Damon."

He remained as he was, closely to her and watching her cute freckles that he found just adorable. "My kind of devil is the fun kind."

Rebekah's golden locks fell dangerously in a sexy way across her face as she tilted her head slightly.

She locked her eyes with his perfect blue ones and effortlessly smiled seductively at him, there was a brief moment of silence between them, and it was nothing short of intense.

"For Christ's sake…" Bonnie huffed and turned another page hastily. "Just have sex already."

Rebekah blushed and looked away, Damon wasn't one to blush and feel awkward, but Bonnie's comment still left a dent.

There had been the strangest vibe between him and Rebekah, ever since they kissed outside of The Grill.

They would tease each other and flirt around the subject but without really going any further and Damon was confused.

He had loved Katherine in an all-consuming self-destructive way, then he loved Elena in the most pure and untainted way, and now he couldn't deny his growing feelings for Rebekah.

She was his pair in almost everything that he did lately and every time he had a silly outlet, she would laugh it out and raise the bar with one of her witty barbs.

She wasn't afraid to scold him and try to push him that extra bit, she was strong, opinionated and stubborn but all in all, Rebekah was representing something else entirely in his life.

She was the first person in all of his existence to accept him for all that he was, flaws and all.

She never tried once to change him or make him act differently.

She might give him the occasional witch migraine when he did something that she didn't approve of, but she never really asked him to do something that wasn't his character.

Damon looked away from Rebekah, and to the other witch lazily sitting with her legs stretched over the sofa and skimming through her magazine without really looking at it.

"Actually…" He averted his eyes back to the blonde one. "I came here to snatch you away."

Rebekah frowned. "Where to?"

"A friend asked me for a favor, and I could use the company."

"You don't have any friends." Rebekah scoffed. "They're all dead." She haughtily smiled.

He ignored that. "I'm going to Saint Louis, Missouri."

"To do what?"

"A favor… Do you stop listening to what I say half-way, on purpose or just to be cute?"

Rebekah gave him a cute smile, but it didn't last because Bonnie made a gagging sound from the sofa.

"I hope that you find your mojo back, soon, because you are quite unbearable right now." Damon tossed at her.

Bonnie turned another page so fast that she tore it in half.

Rebekah was scolding him, but all that Damon did was stand up with a smile.

"I'll pick you up in one hour." He left with a glare at Bonnie.

Bonnie destroyed another page of the magazine, after a violent turn of page.

Stefan softly knocked on Damon's bedroom door, before stepping inside. "Are you going to stay away for long?"

Damon finished packing a change of clothes, before looking up from his bag. "I don't know, are you going to miss me that much?"

"I would go along with you, if you asked me to."

"I didn't want to take you away from the current love of your life." Damon closed the bag with an attitude.

Stefan sighed loudly. "Damon… we should talk about this."

"I have no will to sit and talk about Katherine, not now, not ever, Stefan." He picked up his leather jacket from the bed.

"I know that you're upset…"

"Upset?" He narrowed his eyes. "No, Stefan, I don't get upset over Katherine anymore. I got over her and so should you."

"It's… complicated, Damon. I don't think that I ever stopped feeling something for her, there was always something there that made me care for her. Even after all that she did to us and to Elena."

Damon hardened his face. "You don't have the right to bring her name into this. Elena died and there was nothing that we could've done to stop it. Even after all the fighting between us to keep her safe, she still died. And I'm not about to make the same mistake with the evil double-faced psychotic bitch that you call your girlfriend now."

Stefan didn't say a word, he wasn't sure what to tell his brother.

That he loved Katherine, even knowing all that she was and what she was capable of doing?

That he was probably confusing love with the deep pain that he felt for losing Elena, first to Damon and then to death?

He couldn't tell Damon the words because he didn't have any of the answers yet.

"You can't trust Katherine." Damon grabbed his bag. "She only thinks of herself, and she will stab you in the back on the first chance that she gets and then I'll kill her."

While Stefan was left behind in Damon's room, he left the house quickly, without realizing that Katherine was hiding in the hallway and listening to their talk.

She smiled, covered by darkness, among the shadows where she always blended perfectly and worked her mysterious ways.

She played with her bottom lip and smiled in all of her mischievous perfection.

Kol stopped by the sofa where Bonnie had been mopping all day, he gave her a look which she answered with a weak smile.

He yanked the idiotic magazine that she had been pretending to read all day from her hands, and threw it over his shoulder, in return, she sulked instantly.

"Get up." He told her.

"I can eat here, so can you be the perfect boyfriend and bring me food?" She asked without much enthusiasm.

"Bonnie, get your sexy ass up from that sofa and grab a coat because we are going out."

Bonnie crunched her lips ready to start a tantrum. "Why are we going out?"

"Because I'm Kol Mikaelson, and I am taking you out on a date." He answered, while reaching out his hand for her to take.

Bonnie softened up to a smile. "You and I… on an actual date?"

"That's accurate!" He determinedly replied and urged her to take his hand.

Reluctantly, Bonnie stood up but smiled when he squeezed her hand gently with his.

"What should I wear? I have never been on a date with you, so I have no idea what to expect."

Kol smiled. "Darling, you are perfectly dressed for the occasion, all you require is a coat."

"This should be interesting…" She mumbled suspiciously.

"Why are you so quiet?" Rebekah asked from the passenger seat of Damon's black Porsche.

Damon raced down the road without looking at her. "I had a mini fight with my big idiotic brother."

"About Katherine?"

Damon didn't answer, he didn't have to, since Rebekah was annoyingly too observant and aware of everything around her.

"You can't protect him from everything and everyone." She loosened up the scarf around her neck.

"As the older brother, I still feel like I have to ground him every time he pisses me off."

"You're just like, Nik…" She sighed, mostly because she missed him terribly.

Damon looked at her, unaware of how to react to her comparison.

She nodded. "You both feel the irrevocable urge to protect us no matter what, but guess what? We will still mess up. We will still get hurt, no matter how much you dedicate your lives to prevent it. If Stefan wants to be with her right now, he will be and there's not a thing you can do about it."

"She's just playing with him, and he will get that romantic organ that lives inside of his chest broken, and Stefan doesn't deal well with heartbreak."

Rebekah tilted her head, knowingly at him.

Damon rolled his eyes. "Sure… he deals with it slightly better than I do, but that's not even the point."

"Damon, I used to torture you in my ballroom, however, I'm on another road trip with you and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my human life. Besides my brothers, that is. My point is that people change."

Damon clenched the wheel. "Not Katherine, she will never change. And she has a million games going on and a million different schemes to get what she wants. I just have no clue what she's after this time."

"You're truly concerned over this." She grimaced.

"I took Elena away from Stefan… I was selfish, after all that time wanting and loving her and I ignored my brother's pain for a second time. With Katherine, I didn't really care what it might do to him but with Elena… I knew exactly what I was doing, and I still gave in. I really don't want Stefan to get with Katherine, just because he's in pain, I don't want him to become me."

Rebekah was silent, she could feel Damon's honesty and pure humanity showing up, it wasn't something that she had seen often, and it was a lot to take in.

Damon pressed his foot down and the car seemed to fly above the empty dark road, but Rebekah didn't fear it, she never felt as safe as she did, when she was alone with Damon.

Bonnie laughed, when Kol showed up holding an ice-cream cup in each hand. "This is your master plan for a date?"

Kol handed her the chocolate ice cream. "I took the liberty of choosing for you."

She took it with a smile. "What's the flavor that you chose for yourself?"

Kol sat next to her on the bench. "Vanilla."

Bonnie laughed while fondling with the tiny spoon on her cup. "When you mentioned the word date, I thought that we would have dinner at some extravagant restaurant, miles away from Mystic Falls." She lowered her voice a bit. "Or that we would be doing something really illegal."

Kol stretched out his arm behind her and over the bench. "Elijah told me once that if I had to really impress the girl I liked, I should do the simplest thing I could think of." He lifted his ice cream a bit. "You can't get any simpler in a town like Depressing Falls."

Bonnie rested against him happily. "I loved it."

"Of course, I'll have to top my own expectations when I do find that girl…" Kol cringed his face pretending to be scared.

Bonnie lessened her eyes at him.

After a loud chuckle, he inched closer for a kiss. "She found me instead."

Bonnie smiled in love with his unexpected romantic side.

He smiled against her cold lips. "I really fancy chocolate."

Bonnie kissed him back. "Vanilla isn't so bad." She licked her lips.

Maybe he was such an elaborate little prick that he chose the flavors on purpose, or maybe the entire thing was just so silly that it made them both laugh like two young teenagers in love.

Rebekah checked the road map again, looking for the city where they were headed. "What's so special about Saint Louis?"

Damon finished filling the tank with gasoline and rested his arms over the top of his car. "I'm doing your brother a favor."

"My brother Kol?" She was surprised by that.

Damon gave her a nod. "He's worried about Bonnie. That girl has been miserable ever since she lost her powers, and he wants to know if there is a chance to get them back."

"So, we're driving to the heart of Mississippi to find a cure for Bonnie?"

"She was going to be very suspicious, if I suddenly took off with the hazelnut Mikaelson, instead of the perky blonde." He smiled at Rebekah.

"I should be mad that you didn't bring me along for my wonderful smile and my personality alone." She sneered.

"I just said that you're perky…" He opened his door, knowing that Rebekah was going to ask a lot of questions.

He drove fast to the nearest motel and waited for her questions as they stepped outside of the car.

"Who are we going to see?" She immediately charged in.

"Kol asked that Angelus guy if he knew of a way to bring Bonnie's powers back." Damon complied.

"Abby lost her powers and up until you turned her, the first time around, she couldn't do magic at all. She only got her magic back when my mother turned her human."

"Your brother has this thing that runs in your family… he doesn't know the meaning of giving up or when to just wait it out. She's all human now, she's probably not even linked to him anymore and he has two choices here, Bex. To turn her into one of us or back into one of you."

"So, the real plan is to do something permanent about it, I understand that. What I don't understand is why you're making distinctions all the time now." She truly hated the constant reminder that she wasn't a vampire any longer.

Damon walked around the car with a chuckle. "Right now, I'm thinking of blood and you're probably thinking of ways to levitate a leaf."

Rebekah turned her back on him and started to walk away mad. "I'll arrange for my own room."

"Bex…" Damon called her a bit clueless.

"Don't worry, Damon, I'll make sure to stay out of your sight for tonight."

"What is even going on, right now?" He wobbled his head as he opened his arms.

She faced him angry. "Every single day that we've spent for the last months, you've mentioned how incredibly dissimilar we are. And if I have to hear one more time, how we're on opposite sides of the supernatural, I am going to murder someone." She yelled.

"Are you going to start with me?" He snapped back at her.

"I just might." She yelled again.

"I don't even know why you're going to kill me." He yelled back.

"Because I don't care if you are a vampire, a human or a plain arse. That's the last thing on my mind when we're together, and I wish that you would stop being so fiddling about what you want." She stormed away enraged.

Damon lowered his head frustrated, why did everyone get mad at him when he tried to do the right thing?

Klaus signed the bill with a smiling glance at Caroline who had her chin rested on her palm watching him closely, he gave her a tiny wink before facing the girl at the reception.

"I take it that's all?" He asked formally.

"Yes, I hope you had a pleasant time here, in Ajaccio." The woman warmly said and handed Klaus his credit card back.

A big smile graced his features. "It was very enjoyable, indeed."

Caroline giggled softly and settled under his arm as he reached out for her.

It had been enjoyable all right. They had practically never left the hotel since they checked in, a week ago.

After getting married in Paris they had been discovering all of these really picturesque French locations and they had been indulgent with their passionate honeymoon.

They were driving from place to place and stopping whenever Caroline found a town or a city that she liked, usually sightseeing lasted for a couple of days but once they found themselves inside of a hotel room, they rarely left, unless it was time to check out and move on to the next location.

So far, Caroline loved everywhere they had been to. but her favorite bit of this romantic trip was their stay in Bergerac.

Where they lived in a Chateau for two weeks, drinking wine, eating cheese and talking about Klaus's childhood, although it wasn't a time full of happy memories for him, still he had opened up about that time with her, and she was holding on to that moment warmly.

It was a moment that rivaled strongly with her wedding night, when she said yes to Klaus on top of the Eiffel Tower with a priest as their only witness.

Picking up on her reminiscent thoughts, Klaus brushed her lips with a quick kiss.

"Ready for Spain, sweetheart?"

She stroked his unshaven face with a smile. "I'm so excited for Seville."

He smirked at her. "The premise is sizzling."

Caroline laughed as she left, glued to him.

At the reception the woman watching them, seriously picked up the phone to dial a number she knew by heart. "They are going to Spain next."

"We'll use the credit card to track them." The man on the other side of the line said, before hanging up.

The woman made sure that no one was seeing her motions as she sent him a message with the number of the card, when she was done, she closed the client details on the computer and focused on a new arriving couple.

All the while, she fought the urge to scratch the fresh tattoo of a wolf that she had in the back of her neck.

Damon came out of the bathroom ready for a drink, he sat quietly in the dark of his room thinking about Rebekah's outburst because she had a point, and it's not like they hadn't been together before.

More than once actually, and at the time he even admitted that it hadn't been any sacrifice at all.

Rebekah was a stunning woman and even if he hadn't been with her for the right reasons then, it still had been amazing, so now that he kissed her with honesty and having enjoyed the kiss a lot more than expected, what was stopping him from going all naked and sweaty with her?

He sipped on his drink, upset that she had chosen to stay in another room, they shouldn't be staying in separate rooms, they weren't teenagers forced to walk on eggshells around each other.

With that in mind, Damon hastily stood up and left his room.

Heading straight to her door, he knocked until he had a response.

Rebekah showed up with one eye closed and wearing a T-shirt only.

"What do you want?" She mumbled sleepily.

"I haven't kissed you again or made a move since, because I tend to screw up with every girl I remotely like. They either die on me or choose my brother instead."

Rebekah woke up immediately.

Damon clasped his lips, worried that she was so restricted of words all of a sudden.

Rebekah looked down on the floor to gather her thoughts.

"I loved Matt." She looked emotional. "You know that I did, it might have not been real for him, but it was to me. Everything, from our first kiss to the last time I saw him laugh and make fun of me outside of The Grill. That's my Matty and not the one who tried to kill me and my brothers, and I loved him." She told Damon with tears gathering up in her eyes. "But I can't get over that one kiss you gave me, it took my breath away, Damon and I don't know what that means."

"Neither do I, Bex, because I loved Elena with everything I had, and it took me as much not to lose it completely when I lost her." He quietly said.

"You're saying that we shouldn't be hasty about this... "

"Yeah…" He murmured, unsure of what he really wanted.

"Goodnight, Damon." She moved to close her door.

He smiled at her warmly. "Goodnight, sexy Bex. Nice PJ's, by the way..."

After she closed the door, Damon decided that he had a date with the rest of that bottle back in his room tonight.

"Thank you for a wonderful distraction." Bonnie sweetly said.

Kol frowned and stopped halfway to their front door. "I wasn't distracting you."

She placed her hands over his chest and played with the set of three buttons on his Henley shirt. "We are the Queen and King of deflection. I know distraction when I see it."

Kol went serious and brought her closer to him. "Tell me what to do, Bonnie because I see you get sadder with each day, and I don't know what to do."

"There's nothing that you can do, Kol... I miss Caroline. We have been together since I started walking and it feels strange not to have her around, giggling all the time, saying those unfiltered Caroline things and laughing. I miss her laughter, because it reminds me of when there were three of us. I miss Elena, as well..." She gave him a small smile and shrugged. "I miss them so much." She simply said, fighting with tears.

Kol really didn't know what to do, he knew how she felt because he missed Elijah and Klaus as well. Things just weren't the same without them around.

Bonnie took a deep breath and looked at him with love. "But I have you."

"Failing hugely in comparison but it will have to do for the time being, I suppose." He said in his playful ways.

Bonnie laughed and rested her lips against his to kiss him.

"What about your magic, Bonnie?" He asked her after they kissed.

"I had to protect you." She replied, decided. "Klaus's plan was insane and out of this world but it was forged with Elijah's help from the other side, and we've all paid the price for it."

"Trusting was never an issue when it came to Elijah." He couldn't help the comment.

"I have no idea how to go on without you, so I chose. I gave up on my magic, but I still have you here with me." She melted against him. "I'm sad about Elena and Caroline, but I have you."

Kol rested his forehead against hers. "I love you, Bonnie."

She beamed with that. "And I love you, Kol."

He searched for her lips and kissed her deeply but slowly, she answered him, and it was one of those passionate kisses that used to blow up light bulbs, but now it was only moaning material.

"Hell, that's one hot kiss!"

They broke the kiss, a little shaken and Kol turned around to the direction of the unknown voice.

He felt Bonnie tremble with surprise in his arms and when he looked at her, she had her mouth open in plain shock.

"Vicki?" She gasped.

Kol eyed the tall girl with long wavy hair and a vicious smile, he felt Bonnie clutch his shirt and he knew that this was not good at all.
