Caroline closed the door of the car with a heavy semblance, they were back to the house where she had been so happy with him, but also where she had mourned his death.

Klaus frowned as he reached her. "Love?"

Although she smiled at him, he wasn't convinced that she was well.

Rebekah's happy laughter caught up to everyone, she was on a high cloud, she had a new boyfriend, her brother was home, and her best friend was with them.

"She's happy." Caroline commented with Klaus as they held hands and started walking to the house.

"I'm trying to take that into consideration." He wasn't as enthusiastic about her new lover.

"Give him a chance." Caroline asked him.

He looked at her, wondering how she was able to show such compassion.

"The house seems bigger…" She looked around the foyer slowly.

"Home sweet home." Rebekah welcomed them with a huge smile.

Again, Caroline forced an ease about her that wasn't real and looked at Bonnie, who hadn't said a word since they left Brazil.

The news had been harsh on her spirit, they couldn't find Elijah before the doors were all closed.

"I'm going to my room." Bonnie quietly left upstairs.

Kol felt increasingly useless. "Welcome home, darling." He told Caroline, before leaving to get a drink.

Klaus would have gone with him but he had the nagging feeling that the woman, unwilling to move an inch from his side, needed him as well.

On total opposites, Rebekah had a huge grin and looked at the couple eager to share her happiness.

"Everything will be better now." She rushed upstairs, because she had a date with Damon and she had to get ready for that.

Well, she was only meeting him at The Grill, but still, she needed to look dashing for that.

"We're alone now." Klaus wasn't having another one of her misguiding smiles.

Caroline didn't keep her eyes on his for long. "Just... don't lose your temper when we go up to our bedroom, Bekah told me that they haven't touched it since I left and... I left that room the day after..." She licked her lips, remembering the throbbing pain. "... you died."

Klaus squeezed her hand, so that she would meet his eyes.

"I stayed with my mom before I went to Italy." She slowly explained.

"Then, this is the first time you're here since we parted ways, in this very lobby." He said as their painful goodbye came to his mind as well.

She nodded once. "I came back the morning after we took your body to the family mausoleum." She said in a whisper. "I don't remember going up to our bedroom, I only remember that horrible pain." She touched his cheek.

Klaus tensed under her touch, the real aftermath of what happened that day was cunningly replaced by their happy reunion and then, later on, with a world trip.

It was placated by making love to each other happily and by peacefully sleeping in each other's arms, nonetheless, now that they were back home, it meant that it was time to deal with all of these latent issues.

He silently followed her to their bedroom, witness to their first night together and to so many other passionate nights, but also witness to their rare fights and forged plans.

His eyes landed on the bed now residing in front of the big window, as the sun powerfully bathed the bed, his awareness cleared.

Caroline gently took her hand away from his and prepared for his reaction.

Klaus took a step forward. "How could you even ponder it, Caroline?" He whispered heavily.

Caroline couldn't hold her tears now that she was here. "I was so heartbroken."

Klaus turned to her. "So, you were going to take your own life?"

"You've considered it over the years..."

Klaus shook his head upset. "For substantial different reasons, Caroline."

She sniffled with a look away from him.

Klaus took her arms. "You know of them."

"Don't do this, Klaus." She asked hoarsely.

"I did it because I've lived for so long convinced that I wasn't worthy of any kind of honest love."

"Is that really so different from why I wanted to do it? I was never the one." She raised her voice painfully. "No one ever chose me... until you did."

Klaus hated the way that she was breaking down in his arms and eased on his harshness.

"Damon used me... Matt turned on me when he found out that I was a vampire, he made me compel him to forget that he loved me and Tyler..." She shook her head. "He left me because you told him to leave... and then you showed up with promises and stupid romantic drawings and made me feel like I was the only woman on this earth for you. Like I actually mattered. You barged into my life always putting me first, you fought your own nature for me, you fought for me when no one ever did."

Klaus tried to calm her down, but Caroline needed this out of her chest and beat him to it.

"All the nights when that you've loved me on that bed, you made me feel like I was the only one for you, that we belonged to one another..." She looked at him vulnerable. "... and then you died. When I saw you in Rome, I hated you for the first time ever since we got together. You said that you didn't have a choice but when your mother killed me, I was the one without a choice. You chose not to tell me that you had a plan that would include faking your death."

Klaus looked down from her judging stare. "But you still forgave me..."

"Because I knew that when you found out what happened here, it would be enough punishment." She admitted in a low voice.

He slowly raised his intense eyes.

"I didn't want an eternal life, I never wanted this for me. I didn't ask to be turned into a vampire, Nik. I wanted the human life, the big wedding, the white fence and the 5.2 kids with a dog but I wasn't given that, just like you weren't, but then you found me, you fought so hard for me and became everything to me. I love my friends and my mother, but you were right... The small-town life isn't for me. I belong by your side and home is wherever you are."

Klaus closed his eyes as he pulled her closer to him. "When I came up with the plan along with Bonnie and Elijah, it never once crossed my mind that you might actually consider taking your life, Caroline. I would have followed you if that happened..." He pressed her harder against him. "Have no doubt that none of it matters without you, sweetheart..."

Rebekah checked her earrings again as she walked by the parking cars on the street, she smiled in love with how sparkly they were and how her hair was caught in a ponytail.

She crossed the street feeling bouncy and almost missing a man that smiled at her from the other side of the street, politely, she smiled back but didn't give him any importance.

She walked fast towards The Grill because she was late, as always, it took her just a little too long to get ready and Damon was probably taking it out on a bottle of whiskey because he hated waiting.

She checked her phone, at least he hadn't called her yet and she tried to hurry when she heard footsteps closely behind her, they were cautious and eager to blend in with her heels.

Rebekah might not be a vampire now, but she had been one for far too long, she quickly turned around to confront her unwanted stalker. "Why are you following me?"

"I'm just headed your way."

An attractive tall man replied.

He was the same man she found when she crossed the street and Rebekah eyed him cautious for his next move.

He opened his mouth to reveal a pair of pointy fangs, and Rebekah slowly gave a step backwards with a squint. The man grabbed his head, and she used the opportunity to run but she didn't make it far when he appeared in front of her, looking more dangerous than before.

She raised her hand, and again the man hissed, holding his head.

Rebekah started running faster towards the Pub, and she made it as far as the front door when her head was slammed against the wall hard, she staggered moaning as everything became a dizzy maze for her, there was a coldness as well, which possibly meant that she was bleeding but there was nothing that she could do about it because she lost her senses next.

Damon smiled as the screen of his phone turned bright, he unlocked it with a playful huff. "If you're calling to tell me that you're late… you're late for that." He joked, but his smile didn't last because from the other side came an unfamiliar voice.

"Why don't you join us outside?"

In a blink, Damon whooshed outside looking for Rebekah.

"That was fast…" A man greeted him with a smile. "And that means that she's important to you."

Damon's blood warmed up to a boil, the stranger was holding an unconscious Rebekah, really close to him. "How fast can you run? Because I'm about to show you just how important she is."

"Don't you remember me?" The man asked him.

"Should I?" Damon dryly countered.

The other lowered his head and smelled her golden hair with a languorous motion. "She smells nice..."

Damon curved his hands into fists.

"But so did my Lexi."

Like a switch, the memory of fighting him on the back of some Pub came forward. "You're Lexi's boyfriend?"

Rebekah was slowly coming to her senses and she moaned with a pounding head.

"You don't have a human to plead for your life this time around..." He flashed his fangs, ready to tilt Rebekah's head so that he could bite her.

"You're right..." Damon smiled. "This one is different."

The man yelled in pain as pure fire seemed to scorch his veins.

Damon flashed and took hold of Rebekah as she stumbled into his arms, she kept her hand up to give extra pain to the man.

He knelt weak but she wasn't able to keep the spell powerful enough, so he saw his way out.

"I'll be in touch." He told them and flashed out of sight.

Damon started feeling Rebekah's forehead to assess how bad the little cut was. "Are you ok, Bex?"

She nodded but was happy that he picked her up in his arms. "Maybe I could use some ice..."

As soon as Bonnie heard the door of their room, she looked for Kol, she had been standing by the window looking outside into the night, still trying to figure out a loophole.

Kol stopped midway between the bed that they shared and the woman he loved. "I need to know the truth."

"What do you mean by the truth?"

"I don't want to be crossed with you all the time, but I don't understand why my girl is obsessed with my dead brother."

Bonnie nervously ran her tongue over her bottom lip. "He's Elijah..."

Kol breathed in hard. "He's also very dead."

"We could change that." She kept her voice barely audible.

In contradiction, he yelled. "He doesn't want to come back to life!"

She flinched with his tone, but she was determined to have her way. "I'm not giving up."

Kol faced away from her upset, he walked over to a small vanity where her candles were, along with her makeup and a vase of flowers. "Why are you so fixated?" He asked without turning to face her.

"Because the plan from the start was to bring Klaus back, and then him. Elijah didn't deserve to die, and he is your brother, Kol."

He laughed bitterly and rested his fists on top of the table. "He's my brother and he was in love with you. He died and now you are depressed all the time..."

"I missed my friend..." When he looked at her, she didn't bother to carry on.

"Caroline is in the next room and you haven't even bothered speaking to her during our long journey home."

"I did talk to her." Bonnie sprinted a few locks of hair behind her ear. "She's just a little different."

"She's happy and in love, which is more than I can say for my own girlfriend."

Bonnie shook her head. "You're not being fair, Kol."

He laughed. "Fair? Now that's a great word to throw at me, Bonnie. I love you. I'd do anything for you but I'm not Elijah, am I?"

"Why are you starting to doubt my love for you?"

"Because you won't admit that you love him as well and that it's tearing you apart that he died and that he doesn't want to come back... for you."

Bonnie opened her mouth to let out a sharp painful breath.

Kol looked down on the table with a roaring twirl of raw emotions stirring up inside of him, he clenched his teeth together mad and grabbed the vase with the flowers, throwing it against the wall.

As flowers and water scattered everywhere, along with broken glass, Bonnie gave into her looming tears. "Kol... please..."

Regardless of her softness, he was furious, he threw the candles down on the floor with one swift shove before looking at her. "I need you to admit it, Bonnie."

"It's not…" She shook her head crying.

"Admit it!" He shouted.

Painfully, she covered her face with her hands. "I can't..."

Kol paced around, not knowing if he could stop his rage right now, he loved her so much, but he knew too well that she was in love with his brother as well.

Bonnie took a few slow steps towards him. "It happened when he died..." She started off slowly. "... watching him die like that, broke something inside of me... I can't explain it but he was always so important to me, even before you and I happened, and he was just that reliable force that I had."

Troubled, Kol looked away from her.

"I don't have to admit to anything, because I love you and that's the only love that counts." She reached out to touch him.

Kol moved his arm away, at once.

"Kol, look at me..." She asked him softly.

He refused to give in an inch.

"I love you." She repeated assertively.

When he finally looked at her, she had a hard time dealing with all the pain that he was showing in his face.

"But you also love him, darling… And, although I'm right here, it means nothing to you because I'm not him."

"I don't know how I feel about all of this." She whispered, confessing the turmoil that lived inside of her heart but worst, inside of her head that just wouldn't give her a rest.

Kol closed his eyes for a moment to let the unbearable ache cover him completely.

She reacted fast and grabbed his jacket as he started moving away from her, but he harshly retrieved his arm not letting her hold him down and left the room, slamming the door on his way out.

Bonnie started crying harder and caved into the floor painfully, she loved Kol but losing Elijah made her realize that she had feelings for him as well.

Rebekah flinched. "Ouch..." She complained when Damon pressed the ice wrapped in a towel against the little lump on her forehead.

"You're stronger than that."

"It still hurts." She grumbled.

He chuckled, knowing that she would be ok. "Maybe you should have some blood."

She rolled her eyes. "I'm not going to die from this, Damon."

"I know." He smiled at her.

"Who was that vampire?"

"Former human turned into a vampire, boyfriend to Stefan's best friend Lexi, who I killed to turn suspicion away from us, back in the days when people in this town actually did give a damn about having vampires walking around."

"I suppose that he's really crossed with you."

Leaning against the cabinet where she was sitting, he squinted at her. "Bekah..."

"Yes?" She pressed the ice a little harder against her head.

"Is there anything at all that I might do, to actually upset you?"

She smiled at him easily. "Yes. Cheat on me, try to kill anyone from my family and break my heart. Blend those three together and I might stop talking to you."

Damon realized how close they were standing to each other, and he touched her forehead. "Are you feeling better?"

Rebekah nodded and became self-conscious of how low they were speaking to each other. "Why?"

Damon moved and with the closeness, she had to part her legs so that he could fully close the space between them.

"Because I'm about to kiss you into oblivion and it won't help the experience if you have a nasty concussion." He stroked her cheek.

Rebekah smiled, guiding her hand to his chest and letting the ice fall to the floor, when she felt his lips touch hers, she gave in to Damon naturally. She kissed him back and tugged his hair while allowing his tongue to taste the inside of her mouth.

He kissed her slowly and stroked the side of her body before he cupped her face to sweetly keep the kiss going.

Rebekah moved her legs and locked them around his waist, trailing her nails over his back and over his smooth deep-blue shirt.

In the shower, Klaus smiled as he ended another long kiss with Caroline.

This had been the nicest way to return to their normal routine, for Caroline just being able to stand there under a stream of hot water with him had been what she needed to calm down and relax, and she caressed his wet chest to remove the very last trace of soap left in it, while kissing him.

Klaus enjoyed the way that she was this close to him, so it was frustrating that she suddenly decided to pull away from him entirely.

She closed the tab and grabbed two towels, when she handed him one, Klaus silently took it, inwardly he was protesting but still respected her wish to end the best part of this day so far.

While Caroline went to the bedroom, he stayed behind in the bathroom to dry his hair with an extra towel, and by time he left to join her in the master bedroom, he expected her to be wearing one of her amazing short, tight and perky sleep dresses but apparently his wife had entirely different plans for tonight.

She was sitting on their bed, waiting for him, and in her hand, she had his notebook and a gorgeous smile on her face.

Klaus was rendered a bit confused. "Sweetheart?"

"I've decided to finally let you do something that you've dreamed of doing ever since you drew my face next to a pony."

Klaus squinted cautious. "I'm not sure I follow and if I do, I'm afraid to speak up merely because I might come off as a massive pervert."

"I meant artistically…" She removed the towel from around her body and slowly dropped it next to her.

As she settled in the middle of the bed, her still wet heavy hair fell across her face, and she folded one leg under herself while the other was bent so that she could loosely wrap an arm below her knee, her other arm crossed her chest and her hand rested against her folded leg so that she wasn't crassly exposed to him.

Klaus sat on a chair and started drawing her, he took his time capturing every single curve on her naked body.

She was confident, comfortable in her skin and powerfully knowing that she was revealing just enough of her flawless body to make him falter, the hands so used to draw, now shook occasionally, making the lines less steady than expected.

He caught her eyes briefly, unable to fully be caught there, because he would crumble entirely under her compelling gaze.

He focused on his task harder, he wanted it to be his best sketch yet and she silently complied.

She didn't move, but she was looking straight at him.

He was beautiful to watch while he worked, she smiled because he knew her body by heart, there was not a single curve or line that he didn't know by now.

She was aware of it from the way Klaus made love to her, caressing her in ways only he knew how, however, tonight he slowly looked at her in a new exciting way.

Caroline was patient and waited for the genius to capture all of her essence, she knew he was nervous which made her giggle inside, she could tell how he would lick his lips nervously from time to time and she couldn't deny how all of this was thrilling for her.

She decided half-way through it that she would pose for him more often, she liked the idea of being his muse in every way.

Klaus pressed his finger down on the paper, smearing the black from the pencil across the area where he drew her cleavage so that he produced a shade around her round breasts.

He couldn't help the smile as he saw his almost finished work, he was proud of himself. He lifted his eyes to her one more time to capture the way that her hair was drying and how her curls were becoming wayward.

She looked raw, wild, untamed and that aroused Klaus just a bit too much, he had to focus on something else, which was ironic considering the one woman he craved with all of him was posing naked in front of him, using her evil eyes to saunter him.

He admired his finished work once he was done and he smiled, turning the pad towards her.

"Come here." She asked him sweetly.

Klaus neared the bed with the pad, expectant about her opinion.

She smiled and trailed her fingertips gently over the page. "This is how you see me?" She asked with sparkling eyes.

Klaus sat down next to her on the bed. "It's not even as accurate as I wish it was. I genuinely wish that I could capture on paper the extension of perfection that I see."

"No one ever saw me the way that you see me, Nik." She admired the drawing overwhelmed.

The woman looking at her was breathtaking, naturally beautiful, like an old actress in a really old black and white movie. She really didn't see herself like this.

With all this magical light surrounding her, the model was smiling from the paper as if it was about to come to life and she looked at him emotionally.

"Thank you."

Klaus was elated that she liked it. "It was my pleasure, sweetheart."

She loved the look on his face and the way that his eyes were glowing, so she moved to kiss him, Klaus answered her invitation and kissed her with passion.

Caroline lowered her hands down his chest and unclasped the towel from around his waist, she brushed his growing desire for her while kissing his neck. "Do you want me, Nik?" She whispered against his ear.

His response was a growl, so Caroline smirked. She pushed her palms against his chest to make him lie down and with tiny kisses she savored his skin before curling her tongue around his navel, she felt his breath thicken up before she wrapped a hand around his erection.

Klaus's world went blank. Her mouth was wet, her teeth brushed him, and this overpowering pleasure took over all of his senses, she commanded just how loud he moaned and how guttural was his calling for her name.

Caroline stopped just as she felt him about to pop and came up to stroke his heated cheek. "You're breathtaking, Nik." She adored everything about him.

His breath was uneven when he covered her body with his.

Caroline laid down on the bed kissing him deeply, his taste was in her mouth but instead of recoiling from that, they both found a new fire, their intimacy was based on this shared sense of being comfortable with each other and there were no boundaries to their pleasure.

Klaus started a path of kisses that took him down her neck but before Caroline could guess his next intention he was standing and grabbing her waist. He pulled her closer to the edge of the bed and watched her.

Her chest heaved in arousal for the way he wanted her.

Softly, he took her calves and rested them over his shoulders, then, bringing himself closer to her he stroked her body before sliding inside of her from an angle that made Caroline gasp with a tremble, there was no prelude, he was all inside of her and thrusting hard into a really tight vise.

Caroline grabbed a pillow with clasped eyes, she wanted to wait but she was already clenching around him, even before he rubbed her with a skillful finger.

She shuddered on the bed with a wave of bliss, but she wanted more of him.

Swiftly, she lowered her legs from his shoulders and knelt on the bed instead, whimpering as he slid inside.

He stroked her breasts and her tummy, while he slowly thrusted from behind.

"Don't stop, Nik, please don't stop..." She whispered, pressing herself against him.

Klaus groaned, circled his arms around her, to keep her in place and started to thrust harder.

Caroline called out his name as the pleasure started to leave her dizzy, and he lowered his mouth to her neck, to cover it in kisses before his fangs lowered.

She cried out in an overwhelming mix of pain and pleasure and her eyes changed to red as he fed from her while still thrusting into her.

Jeremy was in the field all by himself, it was the perks of being in charge of the sports supplies in college, and he hit the baseball ball as it came his way.

He swung the bat and hit it as the machine fiercely sent it to him, he hit the bat on the dirt in front of him preparing for another round but failed this time because he recognized the girl standing by the fence.

She ran her fingers slowly across the iron fence and smiled seductively at him.

"Hi Jer..." Vicki greeted him.
