"That was the best night yet." Caroline was still hyped from the show, and she couldn't stop smiling.
She took her shoes off, while watching him fondle with the Stereo system, the one that she bought earlier in the morning, during her crazed shopping spree.
"It was a true shame that a girl like you hadn't been to a Broadway show yet. Almost a crime to be honest." He murmured, entertained with his doings.
She tilted her head, twirling a streak of hair around her index and watching him bending over and pressing button after button.
"You're staring at my ass, aren't you, Caroline?" He asked at the same time that music started to invade the room softly.
"Like you don't stare at my boobs when you're pretending to draw me." She easily countered.
Klaus turned to face her in dismay. "I am an artist!"
She raised her eyebrow. "Hmm…"
"Despite the fact that you're very distracting sometimes."
"I know."
He neared her with a smile.
"Sade?" She asked, recognizing the soft voice enveloping them.
He languidly smoothed her arms with his hands, the baby-pink cocktail-dress that she was wearing today was gorgeous and he particularly loved that although its length reached the floor, her collarbone and shoulders were all uncovered from the sweetheart cleavage neckline.
"Someone is trying to make their way into that massive bed that we bought today." She started to undo his tie.
"It is our last night in New York together."
Caroline frowned the tiniest.
"At least for the time being." He kissed her lips.
Caroline kissed him back with love, if it was up to her, they would stay here for at least another week.
Elijah knocked once on her door, she was expecting him, and it didn't take long for her to open the door with a small smile.
"Come on in." She moved aside so that he could walk inside. "I went to see Ansel."
"So did I." He said before going into her small living room.
"I felt the same bad energy that I did with the visions. He means nothing good, Elijah."
"I'm mostly blinded by my concern for Niklaus, but he inspires no trust whatsoever."
Bonnie unfolded a piece of paper for Elijah. "That's what I could make out of the underground maze. I could count at least 20 men down there and most of them were speaking in a different language."
Elijah analyzed the raw sketch of a blueprint that she made for him. "You're a quick learner, Bonnie."
"I'm also very worried. He has Katherine and he wants me to find a way to use her blood to make hybrids."
"Can you, do it?" Elijah put away the paper inside of his suit pocket.
"Maybe…" She said slowly. "But I'm not going to try it."
Elijah smiled. "I expected no less."
Nervously, she lowered her eyes, she was scared of what else he was expecting from her.
With a caring gesture, he touched her hair before stroking her cheek.
"My brother has always been hard to handle, and his adamant will for power might just be what Ansel will use against him."
She looked up a bit less nervous, his touch wasn't forced.
"The night I faced Klaus in the woods was the scariest night of my life. What I went up against, was pure evil, that raw malevolent energy that he oozed was sickening and if Ansel wakes that side of Klaus again, it will be a scary time for everyone."
"He will be lost as we know him now."
"And to lose him like that will destroy Caroline, everything that they have together will mean nothing, if he goes back to killing without a care."
"I will not lose my brother again. I couldn't protect him the first time around with Mikael, but I will not make the same mistake twice. I will fight for him."
Bonnie smiled, resting her palm over his heart. "Your love for him is so pure… so strong."
Elijah covered her hand with his. "Not only for him…"
"Elijah…" She whispered, attempting to pull back her hand.
His strength wasn't harsh, only enough to keep her near him for just a bit more.
"I've never been secretive about my feelings."
"And I wish I could've returned them right from the start." Bonnie confessed. "More than anyone, you deserve to be with someone who cares for you wholeheartedly."
He smiled, captivated by everything that he saw in Bonnie. Her intoxicating beauty and her integrity as a person made him take the initiative and kiss her.
Bonnie closed her eyes the second she felt his lips touch hers, and slowly she returned the motion, it was a slow sweet kiss and as it evolved, she was melting against him more and more.
He kissed her lips one last time before bringing back his control, but when Bonnie caressed his cheek with her hand, she wasn't his brother's girl, she was that one girl he wanted to be with for so long and she was accepting his advances.
Passionately, Elijah pressed her lips again but resolutely parted them with his tongue.
Bonnie gave in easily to the little play that started between their tongues, and they only stopped because she started to remove his jacket.
He questioned her with his eyes, but Bonnie took his hand and started walking to her bedroom.
There, she pulled his shirt from inside his pants and started unbuttoning it while kissing him. He was an amazing kisser and by the time she walked back to the bed she was certain that he was a good lover as well.
She closed her eyes while he kissed her neck and tried to zone out everything in her mind, nothing should matter more than the man caressing her and pulling the top up her body, but the cruel truth was that she couldn't stop thinking about Kol.
How he had been her first and how she still felt whenever she was around him.
Elijah was kissing his way up from her stomach while he caressed her body, but Bonnie couldn't feel that enfolding fire that she always felt with Kol, and she couldn't feel that overwhelming passion that Kol enticed with his hands and his lips.
Elijah's weight became less assertive on top of her, and Bonnie realized that he wasn't kissing her anymore either, so she opened her eyes to look at him tearfully.
He could only put on a brave expression. "You love him."
"I love you too." She tried to touch his face, but Elijah was already leaving the bed.
"You love him more." He grabbed his shirt from the floor and left with an aching heart.
Bonnie curled up into a ball and started crying.
Lovingly, Klaus kissed her neck while his hand trailed the side of her body until he settled below her waist. He was deep inside of her, but he wasn't moving his hips, instead he was caressing her, and he outlined her curvy ass before buckling his hips.
Caroline bit her lip to suppress a whimper, they had been at this for a very long time, it was one of those nights when Klaus was stubbornly being slow and depriving her of a fast release.
They were side by side and facing each other, being that their faces were only separated by a few inches, so when he moved again, she grazed his lips with her teeth.
Klaus cupped her cheek and kissed her lips as slowly as he started to go in and out of her without changing their position, her hand settled in the middle of his back, scratching him deep as he started to move faster.
Klaus increased his rhythm just as he kissed her over and over, and when she wasn't able to answer his kisses because she was releasing these tiny little cries, he just fixated on watching her.
It was breathtaking to watch Caroline consumed by pleasure, and he shifted in bed only enough for her to lie completely on her back.
Then he didn't stop, he pushed determined, although Caroline quickly found her shuddering moment.
He immersed himself in all the love he felt for her and in everything she represented in his life.
"Niklaus…"
He muffled her cry with a rough kiss and started pounding into her.
He only stopped when he was spent, and she was shivering.
Out of breath, he lowered his head until he was resting his forehead against her chest.
Caroline hid her fingers among his sweaty curls. "Are you ok?" She asked with a tired voice.
Klaus forced his eyes shut. "I'm sorry…" He breathed out.
She stroked his back softly. "It's ok, you didn't hurt me."
Slowly, he lifted his head to face her. "I love you."
Caroline stroked his face with a gentleness that came out of love.
"I'm going to love you forever." She inched him closer for a soft kiss.
Elijah wasn't in the mood to go home, so he made his way to the local Pub.
He wasn't one to do this very often, but he ordered a bottle of bourbon, and he was ending it alone.
It wouldn't take him long to ask for another bottle but at the moment he was distracted by a woman dropping all the contents of her bag on top of the counter.
"I know that this is going to sound so bad but…" She nervously smiled at the bartender. "I forgot my wallet at home."
The man crossed his arms, unconvinced. "You have two very expensive glasses of white wine to pay for."
"I suppose that you won't take the word of the new girl in town as good credit?" She asked in a low voice.
He kept his voice loud. "You can explain it to the Sheriff."
"There's no need for that." Elijah intervened.
Promptly, the other two looked at him.
"It's rude to doubt a lady's word and she just said that she forgot her wallet." He handed the bartender a big bill. "I offer to pay for her debt."
"I offer to take it." The bartender snatched the bill from Elijah's hand, with no intention to bring change back.
The brunette started collecting her things and throwing them back into her big bag. "I swear that it's the truth, by the way."
Elijah politely smiled at her.
"I'm Meredith Fell." She introduced herself.
"Elijah Mikaelson." He said without lingering on her face.
She finished what was left of her drink with a single motion. "I just arrived in town and already I'm making a bad name for myself."
"Maybe another glass of wine would make you see things in a new light." He could use a second coming as well.
Meredith shook her head. "I shouldn't… I'm the new doctor in town and people really shouldn't see me drunk already. I'm usually not responsible for my actions after three glasses of wine, and I'm already making a bad impression as it is." She was ashamed of how her night was ending.
"Everyone starts their night in this town with three drinks, so you will not be judged on that." He smiled, a bit more meaningfully.
She stood up with a long look at the dashing man in a suit, he had strong features and amazing dark silky hair.
"I'll pay for the drinks, the next time I see you."
Elijah faced the pretty human.
She had long brown hair and delicate features and her smile was honest.
"It will be my pleasure, Doctor Fell."
"Ok, then." She walked away with a small glancing back at the counter, now that was a man.
Bonnie really didn't know how to react when she found Kol standing on her doorstep. "What do you want?" She asked him slowly, because she couldn't speak up.
"May I come inside?" Although he asked, he didn't wait for an answer and barged inside of her house.
Bonnie closed her door snappy. "You couldn't find a girl tonight to keep you busy?"
"You're still dwelling on that girl I was kissing the other night."
She chuckled drily. "Kiss? You were about to drill her when I walked away."
"And if I was?" He confronted her bluntly.
"Go ahead and teach some other moron how to play Baseball, see if I care." She opened her door again.
"I believe that you do." Kol neared her slowly.
"I don't." She was short and dry.
"You left. I turned you because you were dying and there wasn't a bloody thing I could do about it, except use my blood to save you, while you still could be saved with your sanity."
"Maybe your blood would have healed me, and you wouldn't have to turn me into the thing I most hated in this world. Vampires took everyone I love away from me."
"There was always the opportunity to let you become a crazy Mary. I met one once, she did some nice tricks in bed but that's about it." He hissed, closing in on her personal space.
Angry, she closed the door. "Everyone had a saying in my death and life, except for me."
"Did you say that to Elijah, when you decided to resurrect him?"
"I don't have to explain myself to you, or to anyone else. But right after my mother died, I started seeing Elijah and Esther, and in my demented state of mind, he was asking for my help while she was here to drive me crazy."
"Why didn't you tell me anything?" He shouted in her face.
"Because his ghost asked me to keep it all a secret!" She yelled back at him.
Raging like a mad man, he started turning away from her.
Bonnie clutched his face forcing him to look at her.
"I left because I was confused. I didn't know what was real and what wasn't. I was a vampire and suddenly I felt like a witch as well, with this huge power bubbling inside of me."
"What I feel for you is real." He whispered with his eyes on her lips.
The lights started flickering around them, so Bonnie lowered her hands from his face.
"You hate me."
He guided a hand to her face. "I tried, every time I thought of you."
The biggest rush of raw heat warmed her cheek. "You should hate me."
He leaned over to kiss her.
"Elijah was here…"
Kol hardened his face, his breath thickened while the options crossed his mind like a terrifying nightmare that was horribly coming true.
Bonnie moved away from him, unable to watch his reaction and her entire body trembled when he punched the door violently.
"I still don't hate you." He opened the door.
Bonnie turned around, thinking that she would be strong enough to watch him leave but the words left her mouth almost with a will of its own.
"I didn't sleep with him."
Kol looked at her.
"It almost happened." She confessed. "But…" She shook her head.
He closed the door again, quietly this time.
"I'm not leaving this house, without knowing which one of us you choose." He started walking over to her.
"I don't choose any of you." She barely had a good range on her voice.
"You'll have to choose." He didn't stop until he was right on her face.
She caught her breath. "Why?"
"Because I know you better than he does, and I don't need to hear your heart racing away to know that it still skips a beat when I look at you."
When Kol touched her, she all but moaned.
He stared into her green eyes with a smile. "I know that I can still make you burn with passion and that you've made your choice."
"That's not true." She muttered.
He hard-pressed her lips and moaned quietly because they tasted even sweeter than he remembered.
Caving in, Bonnie answered the kiss slowly while her hand found his hair.
Harshly, he broke the kiss because she was draining his energy too fast.
It wasn't the first time she took his energy, but as a human she wasn't half this strong.
"I need you to leave." Bonnie placed even further space between them, by pacing back a few steps.
Tenacity was something that Kol didn't have in shortage, so he instantly shortened that space, but with every step that he took, the lights started to dim.
"I can't do this." Bonnie closed her eyes.
Kol stepped back and the lights were stronger again, while if he inched closer to her, the lights grew weaker.
"You can't control it..."
Bonnie looked at him desolated, unwillingly, she could do to him what she did to Vicki.
That's what she was thinking, but Kol only saw the woman he loved with her guards down and he only wanted her back.
Unwaveringly, he closed the gap between them, causing the lights to flicker until they went out completely.
He kissed her deeply and against her better judgment, she answered his kiss.
It lasted for seconds until he was forced to stop the kiss.
She felt panic when she saw him bending over in pain and covered her mouth as tears rushed to her.
"Kol, please…"
"I'm alright." He whispered before straightening up.
"No, you're not. None of this is right."
His pain eased up and he searched for her eyes.
"I don't want to hurt you… stop pushing me."
"It's just like controlling your newborn blood lust." He stubbornly kissed her again.
They shared a longer, deeper kiss and she pressed herself against him, only to have him break the kiss while breathing heavily and clutching his chest.
She shook her head, expecting him to start bleeding soon.
"I don't have any will to drink blood. Ever since I woke up as a vampire that I only want to do magic, it's the only thing that I can think about."
"You better find a way to make this work, Bonnie…" He said resolutely.
She caught her breath when he brushed her cheek with a hand that moved to the back of her neck, hauling her closer to him.
"Because I love you and even if it kills me, I will have you back tonight." He kissed her again.
That pain in his chest slowly eased up, until it vanished to be replaced with that constant fire that he felt for her.
His hands moved to the front of her top and with a single tear he shredded it in two.
Bonnie did the same with his long-sleeved Henley while they moved to the nearest surface fast.
Before she crashed her back against the sofa, Kol was getting rid of his jeans and boxers.
Bonnie's breath was shallow and uneven when he pulled her jeans down her legs, and she closed her eyes.
The way he ripped her underwear apart was evidence of how raw his desire was and there was only this loud bay of pleasure when he pushed in.
She locked her legs around him instantly, while reaching up to hold on to the arm of the sofa.
Kol was thrusting hard and fast, and the sensation was overwhelming, she couldn't focus on magic or anything else but him.
"Kol..." She arched her back to meet his thrusts, she wanted him deeper.
And he knelt, keeping her in place while he thrusted in, deep and fast.
Bonnie screamed as the overwhelming high rushed through her spine.
Still buried inside of her, Kol rested on top of her, and he kissed the side of her neck while he was caressing her body and pressing her to him.
She wrapped herself around him, moaning as he began to move again.
He slowed down his pace but with every push, she understood how much he had been holding back when she was human.
She threw her head back, lost in a pleasure that was consuming.
He was starting to feel the pain, Bonnie was feeding from his energy like she was taking blood from his veins, and he clutched the arm of the sofa next to her face with a small grunt, halting his motions.
Bonnie caressed his face with a smile. "Don't stop…" She kissed his lips sweetly. "I'm going to take the pain away." She focused on finding the pain that he was experiencing and took it all to herself.
She turned it into a wave of energy that she kept on a tight leash, like an animal that she was training to behave and with her magic under wrap, she turned her focus to Kol.
"Let me be on top." She asked him.
As Kol laid back on the sofa, Bonnie started to ride him slowly, deeply and lost entirely in him.
He closed his eyes as she swayed her body against him, picking up speed as the orgasm loomed for both.
Kol cursed, digging his fingers into the flesh around her hips and groaned her name as she rode him hard, until she sweetly clenched around him.
Hoarsely, she rested her body against his.
The energy was like a dancing tune that wanted to interact with her and take her for a dance, but she narrowed her magic into only the feeling of his skin against hers, his breath catching up to hers and the way she felt like she definitely belonged with him.
Caroline woke from her sleep feeling cold and she moved in bed, trying to understand why she was feeling like that.
Klaus wasn't in bed with her and Caroline brought the sheet closer to her chest, while sitting up.
She touched his vacant side, apprehensive before leaving the bed, she quickly grabbed the satin robe that was lying on the foot of the bed and covered herself, leaving the room even quicker when she realized that his phone and his clothes were all gone.
He wasn't in the apartment and Caroline searched for her phone.
She was shaking when she pressed his number. "Where are you?" She asked, trying to control her angry tears.
"On my way back to Mystic Falls."
"You left me here?"
"I can't have you in here, Caroline. And this was the only way I had, to make you leave Mystic Falls and to stay away."
"So, you decided to trick me… to bring me here to New York under false pretenses and to grant me two amazing days, to have sex with me and then leave me stranded in here alone?"
"I left behind my two best hybrids. They will keep watch outside and follow you when you go out to make sure that you will be protected at all times."
"How could you do this to me, Klaus?"
"My mother killed you. There is no way in all of hell that I'm keeping you in the vicinity of my new emerging parent."
"You can't leave me here. I don't want to be here alone. I want to be by your side, with you."
"I'm sorry, but I can't risk it. I don't want you here."
"All the times you've sent me away in the past ended really well, Klaus, and this is another brilliant plan of yours."
"I know that Ansel wants more from me than he's asking off the bat. I for one, know it isn't love that he is offering, and I don't expect it either. Elijah, Kol and I will handle this, but we don't want you and Rebekah around. We need to find out what he wants but I need him to focus solely on me, Caroline."
"You're going to poke the beast, but you don't want any distractions while you're at it." She cleaned her first tears.
"I'm sorry, love but I can't let him see me as the married Klaus, or he will use it against me. He already mentioned you in our first meeting and he needs to see me as the Klaus that he should fear."
"Fine. Do whatever you want. Don't worry, I won't bother you while you're pretending that I don't exist."
She ended the call and threw the phone against the wall furious.
Klaus closed his hand around the phone, from all the iffy things he ever did to Caroline, this might be his very shining moment of stupidity elevated to a new high, but he couldn't have her around when there was someone powerful enough to invade his life with such easiness, like Ansel just did.
Ansel was everything but a victim of Mikael's, he seduced Esther and then left her pregnant with a child that was hated by Mikael, and he never once stepped in to protect him or even to let Klaus know that he existed.
Klaus knew how much he had to lose but he would be damned if he was about to let a total stranger claim a place in his life that was not his to take.
He called Elijah, focused on what was ahead of them. "I will arrive in an hour."
"How mad is our sweet Caroline?"
Klaus smiled. "She will be calling me Klaus for the next 50 years… at least."
"And you don't particularly enjoy that…"
"I hate it." Klaus grumbled.
"She will forgive you, you are both too alike, to stay mad at each other for long."
Klaus envisioned how much groveling would be involved in the future, but for now there was the present.
"And Rebekah?"
"Damon is driving her out of Mystic Falls as we speak… Come home, brother, I'm waiting for you." Elijah ended the call.
Klaus did the same and rested against the seat in the private jet, his mind flew to his Caroline, she was probably crying mad at him, and he already missed her.
