Kol flashed to the man, intent on killing him slowly but his wrath took over everything, and Eric's head ended far away from where he stood.

Whatever his skills were, they were of no match to Kol's temper.

Quickly, Kol jumped into the water to roll Rebekah's body over and then with her in his arms, he came out of the pool.

Damon and Bonnie stopped their rushed entrance as soon as they saw the bloodied scene.

Kol moved her wet hair away from her face with a lump in his throat.

Suddenly, Bonnie startled as her phone started ringing, and she covered her mouth, unable to take the call because it was Elijah.

"Bekah…" Kol whispered, his voice was caught up in his throat.

Damon knelt, reaching out for her hand, her arm was heavy, and Damon looked at Kol.

"He took her ring away, so I don't know…" He shook his head.

"She's dead…" Bonnie finally gave voice to what neither of them was able to say out loud.

Klaus rested his hands on the shower wall, the water was burning his skin with its steady flow and his bones were thankful for it, he was numb from everything.

He stayed like that for a long time and when he felt better, he came out of the shower, wrapping a towel around his waist. He then looked in the mirror, noticing how his scars and wounds were all healed.

Quickly, he got dressed and made way downstairs where Caroline and Elijah were waiting for him.

"Are you feeling better?" Elijah asked as soon as he saw Klaus.

Caroline remained by the window, clutching her necklace in silence.

"I'm completely healed." Klaus answered with an easy smile.

It didn't fool Elijah. "I will find him soon." He guaranteed.

Klaus let out a deep breath, he moved towards the small table where all the drinks were and fixed one knowing how alcohol would taste divinely, right now.

"He will show up sooner than you expect. He has planned this for a very long time… mother chose the vampires instead of him." Klaus explained. "She chose us in his eyes, and he wants to kill us all, and a revenge such as this, takes time and planning. He had the time but that's changing now that he has an illness that is killing him slowly."

Elijah and Caroline looked at Klaus startled by the news.

Klaus pressed his teeth, the bourbon was strong or maybe he just wasn't that into it, after all.

"I'm not going to wait for him to show up, Niklaus." Elijah came closer to him.

"I'm not going to help you search for him."

Elijah was surprised.

Klaus could tell just that, by the way his brother frowned. "I'm going back to New York with Caroline."

It was her turn to frown.

"Niklaus… if he went through all of this trouble to find you, he will not stop now and he will pursue you twice as hard, this time around." Elijah tried to clear his confusion. "You were so set on finding him as well…"

Klaus left his glass on the table. "I need to be alone with Caroline now."

Elijah looked at the blonde who seemed as concerned as he was.

As Klaus left the room silently, his worry grew. "He's not well."

She nodded, agreeing with him. "What do you think happened in that place?"

Elijah didn't know what to tell her. "He needs you now."

"You know that I'm always here for him, always. But I don't know what to do this time. I don't know what that man did to him but he's not… he's not my husband right now, I look at him, but I see this shadow behind every look and every word…"

Elijah touched the necklace that she was clutching in her hand earlier. "I gave him this, back when he was haunted by nightmares of what our father did to him, he couldn't sleep and he spent his nights awake, remembering every word and action that was taken against him. For the longest time, I've watched over him, but I know that you've fulfilled that role now."

Caroline chuckled. "He kind of watches over me instead, I never catch him sleeping."

"There are many ways of watching over someone, Caroline."

She nodded and looked at Klaus who joined them again, with her coat in his hand already.

Caroline hugged Elijah warmly. "Thank you for bringing him back to me." She whispered.

Elijah hugged her back with a big smile, there was no other person in the entire world who he would trust his brother with.

"There has to be something that we can do." Bonnie rushed next to them.

She took Rebekah's cold hand and tried to reach for her magic, trying to find any trace of it that she could use to ignite her life-force back, but there was an unexpected shield blocking Bonnie's attempt, and she looked at Kol with a squint.

"What is it?"

"I'm getting the same energy that I get from you." She answered confused.

"She's not dead then?"

She didn't want to feed his hope, but she felt something familiar when she touched Rebekah.

"Well…" Damon quietly murmured.

The other two looked at him on the spot.

He smiled. "Rebekah asked me something…"

Kol narrowed his eyes. "What did you do, Damon?"

"After we talked last night…" He said, maneuvering around the obvious mention that they had sex. "I gave her my blood."

"Please tell me that this is one of those times when you say a joke that is completely out of place and time." Kol stared at him.

"This is one of those times when I actually gave in to Rebekah's wishes." He inwardly was praying that it worked.

What followed was a heavy moment of silence, that was only interrupted when the girl in Kol's arms gasped, coming to life.

Kol slowly took his eyes away from Damon and focused on his sister, she was coughing hard.

"Bekah… are you ok?" Bonnie asked her.

Rebekah breathed sharply and rested against Kol's chest, she could see Eric's head close to them and shaking, she pulled her top up to see if the stabbing wound was closed.

"That bitch stabbed me." She pressed her lips mad.

"Who did?" Kol asked.

"That wolf prick, called Hayley." She pushed her top down and searched for Damon. "It worked." She beamed at him.

"I'll get you something to drink." He stood up fast.

Kol felt his insides boil and turn, and all the nasty things that came from rage, but his phone started buzzing and he reached for it. "It's Elijah."

"He must be worried about her…" Bonnie told him sweetly.

He reluctantly stood up, answering the call. "Elijah."

"Why did you take so long to answer?"

"I was wrapped around something."

"And Rebekah?"

Kol looked behind at his sister, she was annoyed about her ruined clothes and her hair. "She's… managing."

"Don't deflect."

"It's what I'm good at." Kol simply said.

At that moment, Damon was arriving with a random girl under his grip.

"I will call you in a heartbeat." He ended the call hastily.

"You brought me Kensi?" Rebekah was excited about her snack.

He gave her one of his playful smiles. "Luckily for us, she forgot something in her locker and volunteered to be a little treat for you."

She effortlessly compelled Kensi, and took the girl's wrist, loving the feeling of her fangs coming out.

She never thought that she would miss them so much. To finish her transition, Rebekah framed the girl's wrist with her mouth while looking at Damon.

She didn't need much blood for now, so she got this meal out of the way and licked the corner of her lip before sending the girl away.

Still, her intention to kiss the hell out of Damon was rudely paused when Kol snapped his neck.

Rebekah pushed him away from Damon mad. "Why did you do that?"

"I can think of a million reasons and a few of them have to do with him feeding my sister with his blood." Kol spat out between clenched teeth.

"I swear… between you and Nik…" She hissed.

"I will scavenge the house for the daggers." He promised her.

"You're being a bigger wanker than usual."

"You could do better."

Rebekah narrowed her eyes. "Better than being in a relationship with someone who genuinely cares for me?"

"I still felt like breaking his neck and I will keep doing so, until I feel better." Kol walked away fuming.

Rebekah looked at Bonnie.

"Go after him, you two need to talk." Bonnie advised her.

With a blur, Rebekah caught up to Kol in the hallway.

"I'm the girl in the family, so I'm allowed to be all dramatic. You on the other hand..." She huffed.

He ignored her with the car key in his hand already.

She used her new speed and showed up in front of him before he stepped outside and headed to the parking lot.

"You're sulking."

He looked at her dead serious.

"I'm back as a vampire and I'll drain the next one who tries to use me as leverage. Why aren't you happy for me?"

"I'm jumping and singing on the inside." He replied unsmiling.

"Would you rather have them succeed in their attempt to hurt Nik with my death?"

"No." Kol looked at the ground briefly. "I do wish you would stop making weak decisions that leave us with no other choice but to not trust your better judgment."

"Why are you speaking to me like that?"

With a chuckle he started to walk away. "No one knows how to talk to you, aside from Nik, that is."

She stayed in the hallway. "I didn't mean what I said…"

Kol's smile was wounded. "Yes, you did. I'm not him, but I'm all you've got at the moment, so stay here while I go find a daylight ring for you to wear."

Rebekah looked after him, regretful of how things were between them at the moment.

Elijah heard the news from Bonnie, he wasn't exactly bouncing happily but at least his sister was safe and that was one less thing to worry about.

Keen on catching up to any wasted time, he left the house strong-willed but two unknown girls were waiting for him on the driveway, and that slowed him down a tad.

"What can I do for you, ladies?"

"Hi." One of them smiled at him with a shy rise of her hand. "I'm Dani and that's Filiz." She pointed at her friend. "We're hybrids and we want to help capture the man who hurt our Alpha."

Elijah didn't want to be necessarily impolite. "I appreciate the offer, but I do capture others alone."

"There are more like us, you know…" Filiz said. "We aren't sired to Klaus, but we still see him as our Alpha and our loyalty is to him, not to this man who wants to kill the vampires."

Elijah was surprised that they knew about Ansel. "What do you know about the Luna organization?"

"They looked for us and they told us to choose the true side of our nature, but we are actually thankful that we don't have to break every bone in our body during the full moon. We owe our freedom to Klaus, and we will always be loyal to him." Dani said determined.

"When we heard that Klaus was caught, we all gathered here in London." Filiz explained.

"How many hybrids are we speaking of?" Elijah asked, curious about the actual number.

The girls looked at each other with a smile.

"I haven't counted…" Dani replied. "But we can show you." She smiled sweetly.

Caroline opened the door of the dark apartment in New York in heavy spirits, they hadn't said a word since they left London, but he was constantly searching for her touch.

Either by taking her hand or by just touching her back. She sensed how restless he was, and for some reason that left her worried, he was always so collected and calm.

"Am I still invited inside?" Klaus asked from the threshold.

She smiled, reaching out her hand for him.

It was a small reunion that earned her a kiss, but the simple brush of lips took him away as fast as his eyes wandered to a place that she couldn't reach, he was locked inside of his world, but he was also starting to lock her out.

"Tell me what happened in that place." She asked him softly.

He smiled, almost carelessly. "It was nothing that I couldn't handle." He moved to the mantle to start a fire.

"What did they do to you?"

"Caroline..." He tried cutting her off by lowering his voice and his head, he didn't want to do this.

Sill, Caroline insisted. "I need to know, Nik."

The answer came as he watched the first flames dance before his eyes. "You don't have to do this."

"What do you mean? I'm your wife and I'm worried about you."

Klaus stared at the flames with a heavy intake of air.

"Nik!" She urged him.

Slowly, he stood but she was already by his side and gently touched his face.

"I know you and that wasn't just something bad that you can shrug it off."

"It wouldn't make you feel better by knowing all that they did." He explained.

"I know, but the way you're acting is scaring me."

He lessened his eyes.

"It's been a long time since I last saw that wall…"

"I had doubts and they used those against me."

"You had doubts about us?"

Klaus took her hand. "Of course, I have them, Caroline. I have condemned you to a life of constant peril."

"Is that how you really see it?"

Klaus faced the mantle again, letting her hand go, and he rested his palms over the fireplace. "You've sacrificed your friends and your life to be with me."

"Look at me." She asked him softly.

"It's not a question of making the right choice because I had no other choice when it came to you, but I did sentence you to be constantly targeted, because you're with me." He turned around to face her. "And you didn't ask for that."

"Even if that's the truth, I had a choice as well and I chose you."

"And that resulted in your death." He was fast with his response.

Caroline smiled. "It also gave me a family that loves me and protects me, and I never had that before…"

"What Ansel said about family…" Klaus's vulnerability came out in his voice, for an instant. "I will never be able to give that to you."

Her heart clenched just a bit more.

"I do try to give you that human life that you love so much, and I can give you the entire world, but I will never be able to give you a child."

"And you think that hasn't crossed my mind as well, that I can't give you a baby?"

Gut-wrenched, he looked at her, wondering what else they were keeping from each other.

"My insecurity when we got back home wasn't about sex. I just didn't want you to have enough time to think about what I wasn't giving you."

"I was never with you for my own physical gratification." He realized now, why lately Caroline was so invested in sex, and that actually didn't sit well with him.

Caroline had a half-spin, because she couldn't fully look him in the eyes. "We're married to each other, and we know how the other ticks by now. Sex is something that really works with us, and we're both happy with how lustful we are."

"But we're hiding our issues behind that."

She turned her head a bit to look at him. "I kept thinking that I didn't really know much about your werewolf side and if Rebekah can so easily be turned human, then maybe there was a way…" Her voice died, as the thought popped into her mind.

Klaus's hands found her face and he spoke with this overwhelming love oozing out of him. "The only thing about my werewolf side worthy of celebrating, is the fact that I do have a mate and that she's everything to me."

"What if I'm just holding you back?" Tearfully, she asked.

He leaned over to kiss her lips. "I'm entitled to think the same way."

With a tiny smile, she shook her head. "I like where I am and the woman I've become, because you've allowed me to find myself and to love everything about me."

He kissed her again, convinced that he wouldn't trade anything in this world for a chance to do just that.

"Maybe we should have talked about this sooner…" She admitted.

"It doesn't make a difference to me, Caroline. I'm not saying that I wouldn't love a mini-Caroline running around the house giggling, but my life is complete as it is."

Caroline warmed up to the image. "I would love a mini-Klaus with dimples and sandy-colored curls…" She glided her fingers through his hair. "A little mischievous attitude in his blue eyes..."

"I'm robbing you of that." He said with sorrow.

She entwined her fingers with his, her expression was serious as she was about to ask the hardest question yet. "That option was taken away from me long before you saved my life, but there is still a chance for you…"

He interrupted her by trying to pull away from her, but she held him in place by holding on to his hands.

"Listen to me first."

He only granted it, because he already knew his answer.

"You can use that sword to kill your vampire side and as a werewolf you can be a father. You can choose and…" She gulped down a bit. "… be with another woman for a night and have your baby." It was the hardest thing she could ever imagine herself asking but she owed him that opportunity. "Do you want to try and have a baby with another woman?"

"No." He was concise, determined and resolute, all in one short word.

"Are you sure?" Her voice was barely audible now.

"I don't take my vows lightly." He teased her with a small smile.

"I did have my chance to walk away, Nik, but when you sneaked your way into my life and when I was barely admitting that I found you attractive, Rebekah talked to me, and she told me about your past and how she was worried that you would go through life like a ghost. That made me want to know you better, and I would do everything the exact same way, if I was given the chance."

"With us, it's always been a game of chance." He warmed the side of her neck with his palm and stroked her cheek with his thumb. "From the times we were playing drinking games in the pub."

The remembrance absolutely melted Caroline. "We've come so far… don't let any of this destroy what we've built together, over two years, don't let this man destroy what I love in you. I can't even imagine what you went through at the hands of Ansel, but I feel like you're about to close up entirely on me."

"Ansel brought in a shaman and during his torment, I didn't know what was real and what wasn't." It was something that was heavy on Klaus, now that he was free of Papa Tunde's incantation.

"I love you… do you believe in that?" She asked him with no space between them.

"I do."

"Then believe in that. Believe that I love you so much that I was ready to take my life when I thought that you were dead. Believe that there is no right or wrong, fair or unfair when it comes to us, just love and that's real."

The images were still there, vividly in his mind. The aftermath of giving a voice to all of his fears was still visceral to deal with, but she was right, their love was real, and he just needed time to get back his confidence in that.

Bonnie was getting ready for bed when Kol came in, instantly, she greeted him with a judging look that he easily ignored, and she waited five long seconds before she neared him on the bed.

He was removing his jacket and looking at the woman in her Jeans and laced bra. "Do you need help undressing?" He asked her playfully, but she didn't smile which was a bad sign. "Are you upset about Damon? Don't tell me that you have a soft spot for that one as well." He scoffed.

Bonnie rested her hands on her lower back. "Why did you act like that, back at the pool?"

"Disliking Damon has become a family tradition."

"Klaus has reasons to hate Damon."

"I'm getting riled up by just talking about him." Kol pulled his shirt over his head snappy.

Bonnie sighed and moved lazily towards him.

She smiled, straddling him and started a slow kiss that was sweetly owned by her while she stroked the back of his neck and messed up his hair.

She broke the kiss but left a big smile on his lips.

It was a heavenly start of a night when she kissed him like this, wearing a sexy piece that favored her immensely.

"Why were you mean to Bekah?" She asked him in a low voice.

Kol rolled his eyes. "You've absolutely murdered the mood, Bonnie."

"It was obviously a big deal for you, that she had Damon's blood in her system."

"I don't like the idea that she's now linked to that Salvatore."

"Could she be sired to him?"

"Even if she wasn't an Original, Rebekah would never be sired to anyone outside of this family."

"Why are you so upset, then?"

"She died on my watch." He leveled with her.

"Kol… you can't be mad at her for dying."

"Why not?"

"Because I shouldn't be the only one allowed in here…" She touched his heart.

"I'm not going to become all emotional and tell her that I was scared of losing her today."

Bonnie shook her head. "God forbid, if she sees a glimpse of the man I love."

"I'd rather break Damon's neck again." He smiled with malice.

Without resistance she laughed, he was impossible, but knowing how much he was able to love, only made her happier to know that side of him.

Damon opened the door with a sexy smile for her.

"Hello, Damon." She said the words seductively.

"All good in the vampire world?" He asked her as she came inside of the house.

She flashed her daylight ring at him. "Superb."

Damon closed the door. "You gave us all a scare."

"I have a thing for drama." She rested against the back of the sofa.

"Try not to do that again." He asked her seriously.

She smiled. "How's the neck?"

"Good as new, thanks for asking. How's your crazy brother?" He grumbled.

She shrugged. "Upset, disappointed… I don't really know."

"Sucks to have a sucky brother…" He widened his eyes.

"Damon…" She started taking off her leather jacket. "I'm here to thank you for what you did, not to talk about Kol…"

"Did we have this conversation already?" He squinted.

Rebekah laughed, before flashing and pinning him against the wall. "I even bought a new top." Perky, she said.

Inevitably, Damon's eyes lowered to the sizzling item that showed a lot more than he deserved. "Your sense of style is on point." Which wasn't the only thing on point to be honest.

She was strikingly beautiful and passionate, Damon was entirely compelled by her personality and for the first time, he didn't feel as if he was the steppingstone for someone better, he was her choice and he was happy that at the end of the day, she was always with him.

They started kissing but quickly changed positions, so that Rebekah was the one pinned against the wall, he trailed her neck with fiery kisses while she tugged his hair.

Damon started caressing her through the tight top, and he rested his palms over her breast, stroking the exposed amount of skin with his thumbs, when he closed his hands, he made her moan.

He kissed all the way down to where her bra was peeking, but this was a matter to carry on in his bedroom, so Damon pulled away to look at her.

Responding to what she saw in his eyes, Rebekah smiled.

They kissed all the way up to his bedroom and her top didn't make it past the door.

On her underwear, Rebekah pushed her hand down on his chest to make him lie down on the bed, sitting astride him, she tore his shirt apart, making a few buttons fly away from them.

She caressed his chest thoroughly, but her play was terminated when suddenly Damon rolled over to be the one on top, and she closed her eyes enjoying how he covered her body with kisses.

When he searched for her mouth they shared a long deep kiss, they were so comfortable with each other that instead of powering ahead, everything seemed to slow down in contradiction.

Every caress was slow, every kiss was long, every look languorous, even their clothes were still on but as much as they were ready for each other there was this intensity that hovered above them, like an unspoken confession that was holding them back.

Rebekah stroked his neck with a smile. "Do you want to tell me something, Damon?"

It took him a moment to get the words out, but he was certain of them. "I love you, Rebekah."

"You had to wait until I was turned into a vampire, to tell me that?" She wrapped her arms around him.

"You're not the only one with a thing for the dramatic." He whispered with a smirk.

"I love you, Damon." She quietly gave in to her heart, that so many times had left her crying in the past.

Just maybe this time, she would have her happy ending.

Hayley made sure that she wasn't being followed before walking further into the woods, she looked at the map again, the cabin that belonged to Tyler's family was around here, and from what she remembered, the cabin was old but could still keep the rain out.

She had to hurry though, because it was becoming night fast and she wouldn't see much soon, she put her map away and pointed the flashlight in front of her.

Like a quiet devil, Elijah showed up in front of her.

Hayley stepped back scared, but bumped into someone else, and hastily she spun around.

Out of nowhere, she was surrounded by a large group of men and women.

"I'm on Vervain. I take it every day, so you can't compel me to kill myself or anything like that." She faced Elijah bravely, hoping that he was chivalrous enough to spare her from something worse.

Elijah smiled at her, stoically. "I'm immune to Vervain and I can't vouch for their intentions, once I leave you alone with them."

Hayley gulped down loudly. "You're not here to avenge Rebekah."

"I'm here because you are going to lead me to Ansel, it's up to you how you want to die after that."

Hayley felt the group closing in on her, and the tears rushing to her eyes.
