Cloud was getting somewhat frustrated with this whole thing. His current situation was that there was a Bahamut flying around the training room, that he didn't summon, and somehow he was meant to get past the giant dragon, and then try to land a hit on Genesis, who was sitting in a corner reading loveless like there wasn't a dragon in the room and his rapier was sitting casually next to him. All this, while a few seconds before this whole thing Genesis had cast silence on him so he couldn't use his materia. His train of thought was broken when Bahamut took a swing at him with his giant claws.

"You know, this is a lot easier when I'm the one doing the summoning." Cloud pointed out.

"I never said that this was going to be easy. You need to learn how to deal with situations where your summon materia isn't available." Genesis stated simply.

"If I could let my wings out then this status effect wouldn't even be affecting me right now." Cloud pointed out.

"We're working along the lines of if you didn't have the option to use your wings." Genesis explained. "The only thing that silence blocks is your ability to use materia. All materia on your person is just unresponsive. That doesn't mean that you can't use portable spells that you can just throw at monsters or your internal magic. You just need to use your head."

Cloud growled in slight frustration as Bahamut took another swing at him. He sent a wave of magic to his legs as he moved back to put more distance between him and the dragon, though it moved him further away from Genesis.

"It would be easier if Bahamut didn't take up most of the room." Cloud pointed out.

"Worst case scenario. You're in a narrow room with no magic and a large monster in front of you. I could list a few times where I've found myself in this exact same situation. Did you forget that you have your sword with you?" Genesis questioned.

No, Cloud hadn't forgotten, but if he used too much magic swinging his sword around and he broke something, he wouldn't have cure to fix whatever he had broken.

Genesis grinned when he realised that Cloud didn't even move to reach for his sword at his suggestion. The smaller monster was a good strategist when he needed to be.

Cloud on the other hand had no idea how to get past the giant dragon. All he could manage to do for now was dodge all of its attacks, but he knew better than anyone else that Bahamut was a lot faster than he looked despite his size, so there was no way that he was going to be able to outrun the dragon just to get to Genesis. There was also a matter of landing a hit on the General. Then again, this whole situation could be a lot worse. Genesis could have allowed the dragon to use megaflare on him in this already small training room.

"You know, if you had some kind of habit that I could exploit, that would be nice." Cloud pointed out and the crow could swear that the dragon sent a small puff of smoke at Cloud as a taunt before it took another swing at him.

"Less talk, more thinking Cloud." Genesis said from his seat. "I'm surprised you didn't get landed in the infirmary a lot more with that mouth of yours."

"Pure luck and a phoenix materia." Cloud replied. "Those were probably the only times that I was glad that the officers here patrol the halls so much."

"Didn't Rufus save you once?" Genesis questioned.

"It was pure luck." Cloud repeated himself. "Either that or he was stalking me."

"Given who he associates himself with I'd be surprised if he wasn't stalking you." Genesis replied.

"I don't see any reason why he would have been interesting in stalking me at that point." Cloud pointed out as he dodged yet another attack.

"You know dodging isn't going to get you very far." Genesis pointed out as Cloud slowly started moving further and further away from him with every swipe that Bahamut took.

"I was aware of that General." Cloud growled out while Genesis just grinned. Recently Cloud only called that when he was feeling some kind of strong emotion. Right now he guessed that emotion was frustration.

"There's no need to get angry at me Cloud. You just need to remember that there's always a way out of all situations. You just need to find it."

"Well it would be easier if I didn't have to dodge all the time. It's hard to think and form a plan at the same time."

"You're going to have to get used to it. Think of this as mental training as well as physical training. Out in the big world your enemies aren't going to give you the time to think of ways to escape. You need to think fast or at least think of a way to stall for time while you think of a plan. These are all important things to remember on the field."

"What did you do when you were in this kind of situation?" Cloud finally questioned.

"Used my sword to cut through it. You think that Sephiroth is the only one that can slice a Behemoth in two without any effort?" Genesis questioned.

Cloud sighed. He should have known better than to ask. Of course the red general had more physical strength than most SOLDIERs. It was an easy thing to forget considering the crow mostly only used magic.

"If I get to the end of Loveless before you get over here Cloud, I'm going to let Bahamut eat you." Genesis stated.

"Could you at least read a little slower?" Cloud questioned and as if taunting him, Genesis turned the page he was reading over.

"No."

Cloud just rolled his eyes at that as he started focusing more on the battle at hand. Genesis seemed to notice Cloud's change of focus because he didn't say a thing as he observed the cadet from over his book. Cloud attempted to clear his mind of unnecessary thoughts. Now was not the time to think about how annoying it was that he couldn't use magic. First thing was first, he had to figure out a way to get to the General before landing a hit on him. That wasn't to say that Genesis wasn't going to stop him with his rapier though. Then, it hit him.

"Hey Bahamut." The dragon stopped swinging at Cloud when it heard its name. "You know what this is?" He pulled out his own Bahamut materia and smirked when he realised the dragon had its eyes glued to it. He had almost forgotten that summons were always curious about their own materia. "Go fetch." He threw it all the way to the other side of the training room and the summon almost immediately went after it. Instead of gloating, Cloud took the chance to push a whole lot of magic into his legs and arms and went charging at Genesis with his sword out.

As expected, the red haired General grabbed his sword at the last moment and blocked his attack. "Good thinking." Genesis was genuinely impressed. "Granted most people don't usually have the time to remember that a summon will chase after its own materia. Also you didn't think that I wouldn't protect myself did you?"

He didn't expect the grin on Cloud's face to widen. "You never said what kind of hit to land on you."

Genesis really hadn't prepared himself for when Cloud's lips descended on his own.

Once again looking for his student, Zack entered into Cloud's usual training rooms only to see that the white crow was bouncing up and down happily while Genesis looked somewhat stunned. There was also a Bahamut on the other side of the room holding a red materia in its mouth like a dog.

"What happened here?" He questioned.

"Zack!" Zack didn't know if he had ever seen Cloud so happy about something, except maybe that one time he got Cloud drunk. The white crow bounded over to Zack almost like a rabbit,

"What happened?" He questioned again once Cloud was close enough to him.

"I beat Genesis!" Cloud stated simply and Zack looked genuinely impressed.

"How did you manage that?" Cloud stopped half way through opening his mouth as if he just remembered something and his hopping almost immediately stopped.

There was a few more seconds of silence before he turned his attention back to the still stunned Genesis. "I'm so sorry General Rhapsodos. You told me to hit you and I was only thinking of winning. I promise I'll never do that again." His words seemed to pull Genesis out of his stupor and Genesis shook his head a few times to get his head back into reality.

"What are you talking about cadet? I told you to hit me and you did. I was the one that didn't specify what to hit me with so you just used your brains. I'm not going to reprimand you for that."

Cloud almost immediately shut his mouth, Not sure if the red haired crow was actually angry or not.

"Also I thought that we were over the whole General Rhapsodos thing." He stated with a somewhat annoyed look on his face.

"Sorry Genesis." Cloud immediately fixed his mistake.

"What did you do to Gen Cloudy?" Zack questioned. "I've never seen him look so stunned before. Did you hit him with some kind of weird magic? Also, why is your Bahamut sitting over there with a materia in its mouth?"

"That's my Bahamut." Genesis replied as he recalled the summon and the materia that it had been holding dropped to the ground. Genesis went to pick it up and handed it back to Cloud, who equipped it back into his bangle.

"So, why was your Bahamut holding Cloud's materia in its mouth?" Zack questioned again.

"Summons are quite protective over their own materia. You will do well to learn that Zack. It might save you one day, that is if you ever learn to carry summon materia with you." Genesis said.

"Why bother carrying something that I'm never going to use? Especially when it's just going to knock down my physical strength. I'm not a magic user like you remember Gen?" Zack questioned and Genesis sighed.

"One day you will learn how useful other materia is that isn't just cure."

Zack just shrugged his shoulders. "So is anyone actually going to explain to me what just happened here, or am I just going to be left all alone in the dark?" Zack questioned again.

"Training." Genesis stated simply and Zack gave Genesis a disappointed, disbelieving look. Genesis let off a small chuckle at that. "I cast silence on Cloud and told him that he had to get past Bahamut and land a hit on me."

Zack looked impressed at that. "I'm surprised you managed that, so why were you apologising?" Zack definitely knew that he was missing something then, because Cloud's face turned a bright red and Genesis' grin widened.

"I never specified what Cloud had to hit me with."

Zack frowned at that, not quite understanding why Genesis found it amusing and why Cloud was just blushing. "What did he do? Hit you with his dick?"

Genesis fully started laughing at that, while Cloud just yelled out. "No!" The white crow's face got even redder.

"I believe we would be in an entirely different situation if that was the case Zack." Genesis managed to get out in between his bouts of laughter.

"So what did you do?" Zack pretty much whined at the white crow, who didn't look like he was going to be answering the wolf any time soon.

Genesis just ignored the question with a small smile on his face as he went around picking up his chair and his weapon. "We're done for the day either way Cloud."

The white crow jumped at the sound of Genesis practically purring out his name.

"You did well today."

Cloud nodded his head unsurely.

"I'm still confused." Zack pointed out, but the two now seemed to be ignoring him at this point.

"I expect the same tomorrow, though I'll specify what I want you to hit me with next time." Genesis stated while he started making his way out of the room.

"Yes sir." Cloud squeaked.

"Oh and by the way cadet." Cloud looked up at Genesis, who was almost out the door. "I never said that you couldn't kiss me, nor did I say that I never wanted you to do that ever again. Speaking of which, I expect you to do that to me a lot more in the future."

Cloud squeaked again as Genesis closed the door behind himself, leaving Cloud alone with Zack, who had a grin slowly forming on his face.

"So Cloudy…" Zack practically purred in a similar fashion that Genesis had. "What was it like kissing Genesis?" Zack pouted a little when all he got was silence. "Oh well, it's not like I don't already know what it's like." Cloud didn't know what to make of the predatory look that appeared on Zack's face. "Hey Cloudy, do you know what it's like to make out with a wolf?" He questioned.

"No?" Cloud replied with an unsure tone in his voice. He instantly regretted his answer when Zack's grin got wider.

"Well then, you're about to find out." Before Cloud could even think to move out of the way, Zack had pounced onto him.
