Quick A/N: At the end of the chapter, look up the lyrics to the title of this chapter. I feel like T. Swift made the song for this chapter...good reading!

I woke up on top of the softest, smoothest, warmest and firmest pillow ever that rose and fell in a rhythm that matched my breathing. The events of last night came back to me, and the confessions shared almost brought a smile to my lips. Almost. But then I remembered that I wasn't testing on a pillow, but on Dimitri's chest and if his breathing's any indication then he's still asleep. So instead I closed my eyes and tried to go to sleep, but then I felt his hand run up my spine and begin tracing patterns. I stayed still, trying to keep my breathing and heartbeat calm and normal.
It wasn't until I heard, more like felt the rumbling in his chest as he chuckled, that I realized he's been awake for as long as me, if not longer.
"Roza," he lullabyed, trying to wake me up. "Wake up, Roza. I know you're awake." His hand traced circular, soothing pattern. When I didn't move, he gently shifted us so I was laying down on the bed. I suddenly felt his soft lips delicately peppering my naked body with kisses, starting at my neck and going down my chest to my stomach and making it's way back. When he made it back up to my neck I grabbed his face and brought it up to mine, meeting his lips in a hard, hungry kiss. Against my lips, he chuckled, pleased to have finally "woken me up." His hands firmly gripped my hips as he laid back, bringing me on top of him, my hair falling over us like a dark curtain. Slowly, he started grinding his hips against mine, telling me just where he wanted this to go.
I pulled away, giggling, and said, "We have to go to your mother's for brunch, Comrade."
"We still got time."
"I need to shower," I countered.
"So do I, let's save water and take one together."
I laughed before bringing my lips down to his and starting another hot make out session.
"Rise and shi-" someone said, opening the bedroom door. I let out a full on horror movie scream as I jumped off Dimitri and pulled the covers around me.
"Ivan," Dimitri growled, making sure some of the covers covered him. "How the fuck did you get into in my apartment?"
"You gave me the spare key yesterday."
"And I told you to leave it on top of the TV."
"Yea, but I figured I'd keep and come make sure you got up in a timely manner," he said looking from me to Dimitri, a smirk on his face."Good thing I did."
I growled and got up, wrapping the sheets around me as I made my way to the bathroom.
"Hey!" Dimitri said, grabbing a pillow to cover himself. "Where are you going?"
"To take a very cold shower…alone. So I don't murder your best friend."
Dimitri let out a full hearted laugh before sitting up and pulling me into my arms.
"I love you," he said to me, ignoring our audience. I smiled broadly at him, glad that what I heard last night wasn't a trick my ears played on me.
"I love you too," I responded before capturing his lips, sitting on his lap as our lips danced together, moving to their own beat.
It wasn't until a rude individual who loudly cleared his throat that we came back to the real world where we were but naked in our bedroom in front of Ivan. Safe to say that if looks could kill I'd be on death row. I grudgedly got up and walked away. I slammed the bathroom door shut as I heard Ivan chuckle behind me and whisper to Dimitri that he likes me.
"Roza! Dimka! About time you've come to see me," Olena said as she hugged us tightly and led us to the living room.
Dimitri and I both broke into soft laughter before Dimitri said, "Mama we missed two dinners, it's not like we disappeared."
"Two dinners is two weeks! How can I go two weeks without seeing my son and daughter?"
"Wait, who else hasn't been here?" I asked, thinking she was refeerring to Viktoria.
"Why you of course!" I felt a blush come over my cheeks as I tried to hide the big grin that formed on my face as I snuggled closer into Dimitri as we sat down and joined the family.
"Roza!" Paul shouted as he jumped up and into my arms, effectively sitting in between Dimitri and I. Everyone laughed as he hugged me tightly and pushed Dimitri away. Soon we all fell into laughter catching up and sharing funny stories.
"Food's ready," Olena called from the kitchen. Once we all sat down and served ourselves, the conversations continued. "Oh, Roza, how was the wedding? Vika didn't say much when we asked."
"Oh," I said, my throat feeling extremely parched. "It was beautiful. The ceremony and reception came out just how Lissa I wanted. She left with a huge smile on her lips."
"Oh that's wonderful! I can only dream of what Dimitri's wedding will be like," she said wistfully. Dimitri choked on his food and Sonya and Karolina's eyes shined with a humorous gleam as they tried not to laugh.
"Don't you mean Sonya or Karo, Mama?" he asked as he drank some water.
"No, I gave up on them. Don't get me wrong, if they get married I'll be estatic, but they need a boyfriend first. You on the other hand, have the best chance of getting married first." I caught the slight blush that came over Karo when Olena mentioned a boyfriend.
"Slow down, Olena, I need to graduate first," I said, hoping that'll calm down the wedding train. She just looked at me with the most confused and child-like eyes I was tempted to say we'd get married in the next week. "Well…i mean…i'd like to afford my wedding, meaning I'd need a job, but not just some dead-end job, I want one that can go somewhere, one that needs a degree. And, we just started dating, Lissa and Christian have been dating since high school, and Lissa's filthy rich. I mean, my dad is too, but I don't want him to pay for everything. Don't you think it's too soon to talk about marriage?"
"Have you guys said I love you?" she asked innocently.
"Uh…well…" I stumbled.
"Mama!" Dimitri said. Her eyes gleamed with happiness as she took our shock as a yes. We ate for a while longer, until everyone was full and one by one we went back to the living room. Yeva sent Dimitri to go run some errand for her, so Karolina and Viktoria pulled me to them.
"He told you he loved you?" Karo said, a proud smile on her face, like she was happy about the revelation.
"Yea, he did," I said in a dream-like voice. "And yes I said it back."
Viktoria squealed before asking me when we said it to each other.
"Oh..well..the place doesn't really matter, does it?" I asked, feeling my cheeks warm in slight embarrassment of having to spill the whole story.
"You didn't," Karo said, her eyes shining bright. "Oh Roza, I can't believe it."
"Did what? Did what? What can't you believe?" Vik said, like a little girl trying to join the adult's conversation. My face what probably going through 50 shades of red at this point.
"Nothing, Vika, nothing," I said, glaring at Karo.
"No tell me," she wined. So then Karo leaned over and whispered something in her ears, causing Vika's eye to bug out. With a smirk, she said, "Oh, Roza. I don't know if I should be happy for you or disgusted with the fact that my big brother has a sex life."
"C'MON YOU GUYS! It's...It's…"
"Not that big a deal?" Karo suggested.
"No. It's a big deal. It was my first, I just...it's weird talking about sleeping with my boyfriend with his sisters. It's just wrong," I finally said.
"You're right," Vika said, her face turning slightly green. "Let's never ever talk about you sleeping my brother."
"You slept with her!" I heard someone said behind, causing me to jump and turn around. I came face-to-face with Tasha, who looked to be having a hard time keeping a smile on her face.
"Hey Tasha," I said politely. She sneered at me quickly before plastering a smile and greeting me with a hug.
"So I guess congratulations are in order," she said. I gave her a confused look so she continued. "I mean he finally got in your pants right? I'm sure he's not the first one, but still it's the first time with him, so congrats."
"Look, Tasha, I don't know who you talked to, but I can assure you Dimitri was the first one to 'get in my pants' as you put it. I'd like to think we made love being as we said it to each other that same night." The look on her face was priceless. Now it was my turn to smile smugly before walking around to Dimitri and wrapping my arms around his waist and smiling brightly ip to him. He returned my smile before leaning down and giving a soft kiss to quick for my liking.
"As sweet as that is, I wish that were the same story with Dimitri." What the fuck?
"Tasha!" Everyone shrieked, except for Dimitri, he growled her name.
"What?" she said innocently. "Don't you think she deserves to know that she's not his first?" I looked up at Dimitri and asked him what she was talking about it, but she beat him to it. "Well I was his first time. Back in high school when we dated. So you're little love making last night, well wasn't his first time around the rodeo."
"You're lying," I told her before looking up at my boyfriend. "Right, Comrade, she's lying."
"No, she's not," he said, sadness in his voice. "Remember I told how I asked her to be my girlfriend in high school?"
"Yea, so all the other girls would stop chasing you."
"Right. Well, everyone knew that Tasha was well experienced in sex. So, for fear of ruining my first time with someone I wanted to make the night special with, I asked her to be my first time and help me not make it awkward. She agreed and we did. But just once. And then well I met you and I suddenly wished I hadn't done with her because I learned that no matter what, it would have been special between us," he said softly.
"Oh that makes sense. I mean I almost did the same thing with Mason, but then I backed out because...because…" I stuttered as tears welled up in eyes, the memory crashing down on me. "Excuse me." I ran out the front door and collapsed on the steps, I felt Dimitri sit down next to me and I leaned against him. "That was the first time he told me he loved me. I couldn't sleep with him knowing that it was going to be something special for him."
"Shh Roza, you did the right thing," he whispered into my ear. We sat there for a while before he asked me if I was ready to go back. I nodded my head and was surprised that when I walked back in Olena wrapped me into a hug.
"Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry. I didn't know," she said, her eyes and voice protraying how truly sorry and sad she was.
"Didn't know what?"
"Well that you friend died," she said, looking sightly worried for me. "Tasha just told us."
"Of course she did," I mumbled. I took a deep breath before saying, "Yea, Mason died the night of Lissa's wedding, after her and Christian left for their honeymoon. He saved my life, and I've spent the last week drowning in guilt and sorrow and I'm done doing that. Yes, I miss my best friend. Yes, I'm sad he died for me. But I'm done letting those emotions control me. Yesterday, Dimitri showed me that life goes on, and even though it's ok to feel a bit melencoly when I remember him, it's also fine to be happy and doing things that make me smile and feel loved. Just because he stopped living doesn't mean I have to too, so if everyone could please stop looking at me like I'm an emotional bomb about to explode I'd really appreciate it." I walked over to the couch and sat Dimitri down so I could sit on his lap.
"Wow, Dimka, I got to admit, she's strong," Tasha said.
"I know," he responded, a proud smile on his face as he leaned in to kiss me.
"I mean, to be able to overcome a death like that and be totally okay with you moving."
"Okay with what?" I asked, not liking one bit that she knows a lot that I don't know. I felt Dimitri's hand on my leg tighten and saw his eyes darken as he looked at Tasha. "Comrade what is she talking about?"
"Roza, let's go talk in my room," he said, getting up both up and taking my hand as he led me upstairs. I pulled my hand back and took a step back.
"No. Obviously everyone here knows, so whatever you'd say is nothing new."
"Roza, please," he pleaded, his eyes begging me to follow his lead.
"No," I said firmly and slowly.
"Hey everybody! Sorry we're late, miss sleepy head didn't want to wake up," Ivan said, the end of his sentance trailing off as he took in the scene before him. "What's going on? When I left you guys were all love and kisses."
"Not now Ivan," I said before turning to him. "Actually, no, now is the time. You know don't you. That's why you helped with the date yesterday."
"Uhh actually I'm kinda lost."
"Why is Dimitri leaving? And where to?" His eyes widen in understanding and he looked at Dimitri, who shook his head and nodded to Tasha. Ivan then shook his head and slowly approached me.
"Yea I've known, and I told Dimitri to tell you, but to be fair he didn't find out until before the wedding and afterwards he was really worried about you and I told him to wait. I was hoping he told you on your date. Rose, you don't know the full story, just give a chance to explain." I looked from Ivan to Dimitri, before plopping down the on the couch. Dimitri let out his breath and joined me, turning me so we were facing each other.
"I'm sorry I didn't say anything. I should have, but I kept telling myself that there'd be a better time. And then on the date, things were going so well, I finally had you being your normal self, I didn't want to do or say anything to set that back."
"Get to the point, Dimitri." I saw his eyes flash with because this was the first time since we started dating that I've called him by his name in such a serious tone.
"Remember how I told you that Stan was retiring and he wanted one of us to take over instead of selling the place?" He waited until I nodded my head, vaguely remembering this conversation. "Well he wants me to take over…but…first he wants me to take a few classes in business management and get at least a two-year degree so I can come back and take over properly. He's willing to wait for me. But since I have all my general ed done, I should be done by the end of the year."
"Where?"
"There's Russia, or New York, or Northern California."
"Which one did you pick?"
"Russia."
"Russia, I said softly. I got up and walked out, needing to get away. Everyone called for me. No one came after me. Even though that's what I wanted most.
When I got to the end of the street I pulled out my phone and called the only person I had left right now. It rang a few times before he answered.
"Baba," I said, hating how broken my voice sounded.
DPOV
"Roza," I whispered after her, part of me wanting to follow her, but part of me knowing she needs her own space. I hung my head, knowing I probably just ruined what I had with Roza. I felt Ivan's hand on my shoulder as he tried to assure me everything would work out.
"I'm so sorry, Dimka," Tasha said, sitting down next to me and placing her hands on top of mine. "I just thought that when Sonya shared with me the news that everyone knew."
"I know, Tasha. It's not your fault. It's mine. I should have listened to Ivan and told her before. I should have told her as soon as I found out. And now I lost her. I should go follow her," I said, standing up and heading out the door. I jogged up and down the street, but there was no trace of her. "Oh, Roza, where could you have gone."
I tried my luck and dialed Abe. He picked up on the first ring.
"You're a dead man, Belikov. For your sake, never come near my daughter."
"Mr. Mazur, let me explain. I didn't mean to hurt Rose."
"I don't want any of your explanation because it's not going to get her out of her room or get her to stop crying. So unless you have something that will make her stop, you better stay the hell away from my family and just go off to Russia." My response was caught in my throat at his last comment. So she told him what happened.
"But I love her. You can't just expect me to get rid of all this love for her and leave without making things right." I heard him let out a sigh before he spoke.
"Look son, I'm not going to lie. You've brought out a side of Rose I didn't even know existed, and I can tell that she loves you a lot and I know you love her too, and because of all that let me give you this one advise. Don't even try making things right, because no matter what you're leaving and nothing you do can fix that. Nothing you do to prepare her for it, will make it better. It's still going to hurt her, and all you'll end up doing is putting off the inevitable. Rose is going off to school soon, maybe all of this was just a matter of time. Good luck, Dimitri, I wish you all the best, but please leave Rose alone."
Then the line disconnected. I slumped down to the ground, broken inside and out. I couldn't even bring myself to cry because I felt empty inside. I wracked my brains with everything I could have done to have made everything better.
"You know, there's nothing you could have done to make this any better," Tasha said, sitting down next to me on the curb. "Dimka, you need to go home. Maybe she'll be there and you guys can talk things out."
"No she won't be. She's at her dad's. I'm better off staying here the night. I couldn't bare being in my place all alone after getting used to having my Roza in my arms."
"But doesn't she need clothes? And isn't all her things at your place?" she persisted. After so more resistance on my part, she finally convinced me to go back to my place. Deciding I probably shouldn't be driving, we got into her car and we drove n silence. I had my phone in one hand, ready to call Rose, hoping she'd answer. But by the time we got up to my apartment, I still hadn't hit the dial button.
"Here. Sit here," she commanded as she shuffled around before coming back with a glass filled with clear liquid. "Here drink this." And drink I did. All 10 glasses of the vodka she was giving. I highly doubt I'll remember anything that happened tonight. "Oh you're tipsy, let's get you to bed." After that everything fell into a black hole.
I woke up the next morning with my head feeling like it's going to explode, when I groaned in pain I felt something shift on my arm. Roza, I thought elatedly before all the events of yesterday came back to me leaving me heartbroken and confused as to who was in my bed. When I shifted to get a better look, I was shocked to say the least. A woman with hair black as night was laying in my arms. When she moved and her hair fell back, my eyes popped out as my shock sky rocketted. What the fuck happened last night? I wondered.
"Good morning," she purred sleepily as she smiled up at me. I moved so she was laying down on the bed and I was on my side facing her.
"What happened last night?"
"Isn't it obvious, Dimka?"
A/N: Oh shit! What could have happened between those two? (Don't say it's obvious because it's not...or not what you think...) LEAVE ME A REVIEW...
