I woke up on the couch, groaning at the pounding in my head. I dig my head further into the pillow, but the pounding gets louder…but my head feels just the same… I lift my head a bit and pay close attention to the pounding. It wasn't from my head! Well, my head hurt, but the pounding that woke me up was actually someone knocking at the door. With another groan, I slid off the couch, my foot touching the floor then a hand and then the rest of my body. I kept the afghan loosely wrapped over one shoulder and around my waist as I went and opened the door.
My eyes widened when I came face to face with my missing panties. A blush crept along my cheek as I trailed along the hand and arms and looked up at Dimitri who had a smug grin on his face, happy to get the reaction he wanted.
"So that's where my missing shirt went," he said, as if he just realized but he probably figured it out when he noticed it gone. Glaring at him I grabbed my thong from his finger and slipped it on, using his long shirt and the afghan as curtains to hide my lower body behind. His eyes bugged out when he realized I went to sleep commando.
"What? Did you expect me to borrow one of your boxers?" I sarcastically said.
"No, but I would have thought you put some on when you got to your room."
"I probably would have, but that would mean I made it to my room." He shook his head as I leaned against my doorframe, not really sure if I should invite him in or not. "Anything I can do for you?"
"Actually, you can let me in."
"Now why would I do that? As far as I'm concerned, being home alone with you is just asking for trouble."
He bent down like he was going to kiss me, but instead grazed his lips against my ear and said, "You weren't complaining last night." I felt my body go rigid as I tried stopping the desire that ran through and pooled at my core, and the aching that went with wanting a repeat as last night.
I cleared my throat as I turned around, flipping my hair back. "Do you want some coffee?" I asked over my shoulder as I walked towards the kitchen, knowing he'd follow. We didn't say anything until I had served both of us a cup of coffee, his straight black and mine with more milk and sugar than coffee. "So you look pretty cheery for someone hungover," I said as I stirred my coffee.
"Well because I had an amazing dream, which was disrupted by someone slamming my door, only to find out it had been a reality. And then I went on a run. How was your morning, Roza?" he asked teasingly.
"Oh just superb. I couldn't find my damn panties and I took your shirt, which I used as a jacket cus guess what I left mine at your place with my purse! And then as I was leaving I lost my footing and slammed your door shut. And then I had to take a cab back home and climb in through the laundry room window and by the time I made it out to the front I was exhausted and passed out on the couch. You don't know how much I regret challenging Stan."
He let out a deep laugh. "I told you not to do, but noooo Roza knows best," he said, his voice getting louder towards the end. I cringed away, my head too sensitive for such loudness.
"Chime it down, Comrade, jeez louise! Didn't your teacher ever teach you about inside voices."
"Yes, she also taught us how to drink without getting hungover."
"What kind of fucking school do they have in Russia? Plus, are you here to lecture me? Cus I rather face the wrath of Abe Mazur then have one of your philosphical lessons. At least Abe is to the point. You make my mind think and it hurts too much to do that."
"No I didn't come to lecture, not that you don't need one, seriously, Rose, don't you know your limit?" I looked up at him through my eyelashes, seeing his clean, defined face, and ran my eyes down his body, flashes of last night coming to mind. I bit my lip and looked up at him again, giving him a knowing look.
"Obviously I don't," I grumbled. "Look, if you came to say that we should just forget about last night, then fine, but if the past is any indication then don't be surprised if I come and beat the shit out of you for knocking me up." His eyes widened, clearly not expecting that, but he nodded his head, taking to heart my threat.
"That wasn't what I was going to say. And for your information, I used protection."
"Really? How come you didn't with her then?" Curiosity got the best of me and I was about to take the question back when he answered.
"Because I don't think I slept with her. Rose when you woke up, how was I dressed?"
"You weren't. You had your birthday suit on."
"Exactly. When I woke the next day with her, I had my boxers on. I honestly don't think I slept with her. Well, I don't think I was conscious at least."
"So either she slept with you while you were asleep, or she's lying to you, so why are you still with her?"
"I'm not with her because I want to be, I'm with her because of the child she's carrying, but I already told you I'll leave her if you take me back while still maintaining responsibility over the child." He brought his hand over the counter and placed them on top of mine. "Roza, you can't deny you still have feelings for me, why are you so against us having a chance at happiness?"
"I just…I'm so confused. I love you and it broke my heart thinking you cheated on me. And, God, I want nothing more than to take you back. But I can't. Not yet at least."
"Why the hell not?!" he said in an aggravated tone.
"Because my heart needs time to heal!" I shouted, mad he couldn't understand. "You honestly think my heart completely healed in four months? Let me be the first to tell you it hasn't. I don't think it started healing until we finally went back to being on good terms and I'm not going to jump into a relationship, with you or anyone, until I'm healed. And if you can't understand that then get the fuck out." I got out of my seat and stormed out. Er, well, I tried, but he grabbed my wrist and turned me around.
"Wait. I'm sorry," he said, his eyes showing me how guilty he felt and how sorry he was. "I'm sorry I'm the one that put you in that state. I'm sorry I got mad, I didn't mean to. It just didn't make sense why you were holding back, but now it does and I'm more than willing to wait." His other hand caressed my cheek and I automatically rubbed my cheek against his hand. At the risk of sounding corny, it felt like I was home. Or on route there. "Roza, as long as I know I have a chance, I'm going to fight for you. As long as I know I still have your heart, I'm going to hold on to it with my life. I'm not giving up on you and no baby and no mending heart is going to stop me. If all you need is a friend, then I'll be the bestest friend you've ever head and when you're ready to take me back as your lover I'll be there. So don't try and stop me." He bent down and gave a soft kiss that left me wanting more when he broke away and left. I stood there in the middle of my kitchen, speechless, with my fingers on my lip, still reeling from the electrifying sensation I get whenever we kiss. It wasn't until someone spoke that I broke out that haze.
"Well I don't think I have to ask what happened," Lissa said, taking in my state with a smirk on her lips.
"Tell me everything," Lissa said once I got out of the shower.
"Really? You haven't figured it out?" I said as I went to my closet and pulled out a pair of black yoga capris and a black racerback tee. Then I threw on a loose shirt on top, the same pink as my yoga capris waist band, and crawled onto bed while she spoke.
"I want to hear it from your lips. Now tell me.'
"Fine!" I said as I rested my head on her lap. "So remember how I went to Ivan's girlfriend's birthday dinner and Dimitri was there?" She nodded her head. "Well since everyone had a plus one, we were the only two left behind while everyone went to dance. After a while, he coerced me into a dance and we slow danced for a while, in our own little world by the table."
"And he kissed you?" she asked, excitingly.
"No. But he asked me to go with him to Stan's unofficial retirement party."
"And when was the party?"
"Last night."
"Oh…oh no."
"Oh yes. I got wasted. Like party hard wasted. And when I was still sober enough to be coordinated I danced with Dimitri, dirty dancing doesn't even to cover it. Well we finally agreed we were too far gone to drive and shared a cab…which led to now."
"Oh no no missy I want all the details. Sex included."
"Jeez, Lissa. What? Sparky's not fueling your fire?"
"Oh he is. I just want to hear what you experienced to make give you the best advice I can." I stared at her for a while before continuing.
"When the cab got to his place, we both go out and when we got to his apartment I may or may not have attacked him on the couch and then we took it to the room and had wild sex. I mean, Liss, I thought my first time was special and perfect, but this was so raw and hungry! I didn't know sex could be like that!"
"Wait you never...at school?"
"Nope. He's the only guy I've slept with."
"So what happened after?" she asked getting us back on track. "Cus I saw him getting in the car when I got here and well you know how you were dressed."
"Right…well I woke up at like 5 and tried to get dressed and leave, but it didn't work out so well since I couldn't find my underwear and forgot my bag and jacket…SHIT!"
"What?"
"I left my car, purse, and jacket at his place! Oh fuck I'm dead when my parents get home."
"Uh your purse and jacket are on the couch. He gave them to me before he left. But what I don't get is why you had on his shirt and a couch…oh…you slept on the couch?!"
"Well when I got home I realized I left my stuff at his place, so I crawled through the laundry window and by the time I got to the living room I was exhausted so I slipped off my dress and buttoned his shirt up a bit and pulled the blanket over me and passed out."
Lissa broke into laughter. "I'm pretty sure if your parents didn't kill you when they saw you on the couch, they won't kill you now," she said when she calmed down a bit before going into another fit of laughter. I couldn't help but join her.
"I don't know what's worse. My parents seeing me like that or Dimitri."
"Oh god, what happened when he came over? I don't take it he was very happy you skipped out."
"I opened the door and the first thing I saw was my missing thong." Her eyes widened and her lips curved into an 'o' before bending over laughing. "It's not funny! And then when we went in for coffee he told me that as long as he knows I love him he's going to fight for me and he'll be my friend and wait until I'm ready…and then he gave me a soft kiss and left."
"So that means…" she began once we calmed down, but trailed off when I started shaking my head.
"I can't. I know it was a mistake to take things that far and I should have stopped, but that was the best mistake I've ever made."
"Why can't you, Rose? And don't give me that 'I need to heal' crap either because if you love him and he loves you then I don't see why you keep pushing him away."
"I can't get into a relationship if I haven't healed from the last one."
"Bull. Shit. You're scared." I looked away, knowing she hit the jackpot. "Oh, Rose. You can't live life scared of getting hurt because that's not living. And you know that. You know that taking risks means hoping for the best, but expecting the worst, and you've always been ok with that."
"Because I've never put my heart on the line! You don't get it! You've always had the fairytale life when it comes to guys because they all fawn over you. Christian never lied or hurt you, and neither did Aaron, as psychotic as he was. I had my heart ripped out and stomped on by the first guy I thought liked me for me and not for my body. You have no idea what that's like!"
"You're right I don't, but that's the whole point of love! To take a chance, let it happen and live it to the fullest!"
"I'm not saying…I'm just saying I'm not ready to dive in again. Not yet."
"Yea, but how long do you think he's going to wait for you?" she said, making my retort get stuck in my throat. He said he'd wait as long as he has to, but how long is too long?
"As long as it takes…right?" I asked, my voice small. Lissa's eyes softened and she nodded her head. "Lissa I don't want to lose him, but I want to make sure I'm completely over what happened and that I won't at any point in our relationship throw what he did back at him. I rather wait more than I should then do something that could ruin everything."
"I guess that makes sense," she said thoughtfully. "When's the next not-date date?"
"It wasn't a-!" I began to say before my door busted open and I jumped up.
"I. Want. An. Explanation!" my mother shouted at me, my father behind her trying to calm her down, but I could see the disappointment and amusement in his eyes, a small smile on his lips. I don't know if that scared me more than my mom's reaction.
"I dunno what you're talking about," I said casually.
"Explain to me why you were passed out drunk on the couch with a man's shirt and your dress on the floor. What. The. Fuck. Did. You. Do. Last. Night?!"
A/N: UH. OH! The parents don't look so pleased (well Abe seems happy about something…what do you think it is?) What about the talk with Lissa? WHAT ABOUT DIMITRI'S CONFESSION? Leave me a review with your thoughts and love :)
I know it was short, but there it is :) see you next week xoxo

JK! HERE'S A BONUS SCENE!
VPOV
"Please Niko!" I begged into the phone while I walked down the street to get to bookstore. "It's for her first birthday!"
"NO! I'm going to look stupid," he grumbled. I couldn't help the giggle that left my lips.
"Babe, it's just going to my family and a few of Zoya's friends and their families. No one we know. Except for Rose."
"Fine. No tights!"
"The only thing remotely close to ridiculousness in your outfit is the ears you have to wear. I swear everything else is stuff you'd find in your closet. Plus, I'll be dressed up too."
"Oh yea? Why do I feel like this is a fantasy come true for you?" I could hear the smirk in his voice. I dropped my voice to a husky tone.
"Cus it's always been a fantasy to do it with Mickey." I heard him choke a bit before responding.
"Well it's always been a fantasy of mine to do it with Minnie. Guess we'll have to leave the party early." I giggled like a little school girl, but before I could calm down, the giggles caught in my throat when I saw Tasha at the nail salon. "Vika, you ok?"
"Huh? Yea," I said absent-mindedly as I crossed the street. "Hey, babe, I'll call you later ok?" He mumbled an ok and I disconnected as I swung the door open and entered the salon.
"Oh my god! Viktoria what are you doing here?"
"I could ask you the same thing. I'm pretty sure the fumes in this place isn't healthy for the baby…if it existed," I growled, my eyes slitting into a glare as I walked up to her
"I don't know what you're talking about," she said unconvincingly.
"Yea sure you don't. Just like you don't know how to get a man," I retorted. Her lips pursed into a straight line and her hands clenched on the arms rest of her chair. My lips curved upwards into a smirk that said "checkmate."
"I don't like the accusations you're making."
"Yea? Well too bad bitch cus I don't like you in my brother's life. But I got a solution to that," I snapped before saying what the solution was. "Leave."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me. Leave. Pack your bags and run off with your doctor. I mean you are in love with him aren't you? Or are you just toying with the poor man like the sociopath you are?" Her eyes widen and she was speechless for a moment.
"What if I am? There's no way you can get me to leave. Dimka wants me in his life and there's no way in hell I'm leaving," she said smugly. If only the bitch knew.
"No he wants the baby in his life, but you? He doesn't give a shit about you," I said in a low voice as I got in her face. "Do you know who he wishes the mother was? Who he's fighting tooth and nail for? Let me tell you…it ain't you."
I backed off, seeing her jaw clench and eyes burn with rage.
"Now you have two options," I said slowly. "Option 1: you show a shred of dignity and tell Dimitri the truth and leave so he can live his happiness. Or option 2: I tell Dimitri, with the evidence I've accumulated of course, and watch him kick your sorry ass to the curb."
"Neither. I'm staying right here because you want to know something? If you actually had anything to support your lies, you'd already have shown him, but the fact that I'm still here means one of two things. A, you did and he still decided to stay with me. Or b, you actually have nothing so you won't say shit because he won't believe you."
"Oh, honey, don't kid yourself. The only reason I haven't said anything is because I rather seem him get rid of your leechful ass on his own, and believe me that your time here is ticking. They slept together, you know? Like within the last week. So I'd start packing my bags if I were you," I said, a parting smirk on my face as I saw her jaw drop before I turned around and left.
A/N: DUN! DUN! DUN! Smells like the shits pot is brewing! Vika laid her cards out...how's Tasha going to strike back? Or will she heed Vika's warning? And how about the cute scene with Niko and Vika? :) LEAVE ME A REVIEW WITH YOUR THOUGHTS AND LOVE!
