A/N: I'm so sorry about not updating in two weeks! Last week I was on vacation and didn't have my laptop with me, and yesterday my laptop was dead and my charger was in my lab :/ YOU DON'T KNOW THE AGONY I WENT THROUGH BECAUSE I COULDN'T UPDATE! Either way, sorry, it won't happen again!
But for compensation, I have a shocking ending, but of course, nothing compared to how this story will end (which will be coming up soon *tears*)
After concert, I don't remember much of the party thanks to all the shots I had. The party Viktoria threw in her house was nothing compared to how Lana del Rey partied. It didn't help I had Jack, the born-to-be-frat boy cheering me on. I don't know if the girls drank as much as me, but I do know they've all been up as long as me. I feel bad, but I couldn't stop my body's dying need to find a toilet before everything from last night came back up my throat.
When I went downstairs, I saw everyone blurry eyed and drinking some coffee. I almost had a cup, but the smell was too strong so I opted for some tea instead. It wasn't long before round two of my hangover came rushing up and I ran back to my room. When I stepped out, I couldn't stand to be indoors so I quickly changed into my bikini, throwing on some shorts and slipping into my flip flops as I came outside. I told the girls I was heading to the beach before grabbing my sunglasses and going out.
I was thankful the hotel has private access to the beach and that not many people were staying because when I went outside is was practically empty, except for a couple that were taking a morning stroll. As I sat down on the warm sand, I breathed in the salty, fresh air, any hangover that still lingered inside me quickly leaving as the soothing beach waves filled my ears.
Stretching my legs out enough so they were at the rim of the ocean and the water rolled over them every time it came up, I let my mind wander to Dimitri. I hadn't called him yesterday and I know I missed a few calls since I was at the party, and I was almost tempted to call him now but I didn't want to risk waking him up. Tapping my phone, I opted for sending a text instead, that way he'd see it when he woke up.
Wish you were here, I sent, attaching at picture of my feet under the water. Reclining back to bask in the sun, I was astonished when my phone dinged sooner than I thought.
You're up early, he sent.
Laughing, I shook my head as I replied: Haha not by choice, believe me.
Too much fun last night? It amazed me to no end how much Dimitri knew me.
Maybe :/
Let me see.
Biting my lip, I thought about it. Putting the phone right where my legs were bent, I pulled my hair up into a messy ballet bun on the top of my head and leaned back. Pouting, I took a picture, making sure my bikini top was in the picture, and sent it to him.
I thought you were hungover…
I am!
Then why are you at the beach?
I needed some fresh air.
Oh. Well you look really good for someone having a hangover ;)
Oh ye – before I could finish the response, my phone was ripped out of my hand.
"Who are you texting?" Lissa teased as I sat up. I looked up over my sunglasses to glare at her, but the sun and her bikini was too bright so I lifted my head and did it behind the comfort of my sunglasses.
"Your boyfriend," I said dryly.
"Don't you mean yours?" She waggled her eyebrows, making me shake my head before taking my phone back. Looking behind her I saw everyone else was with her.
Not dignifying her with a response, I got up and grabbed her oversized tote bag, putting my phone inside and grabbing her sunscreen. Sitting back down, I put some on while I listened to what Jill and Viktoria were talking about.
"How can you not like the sun?" Vika asked as she reclined back on her elbows, tossing her head back so the sun hit all of her.
"It's not that I don't like the sun," Jill defended, wrapping her arms around her legs. "More like the sun doesn't like my hair."
"Is the cold any better?" I asked.
"No, but at least I can hide it under a beanie."
"You can wear a beanie in the summer," Vika pointed out.
"Have you tried any products?" I asked, kind of appalled when she shook her head. "No one in Lia's studio has recommended anything for you to use?"
"Well yeah. Estaban, the girls that do my hair, Kitty, and even Lia, but I don't see the point. They use the products when they need to do my hair and I could care less what people think about what my hair looks like because it's my hair, not theirs, and if I'm fine with it then it shouldn't matter to them."
"Woah woah! No need to get all heated about it," I joked. "I totally get it. Your hair, your decision. I just meant maybe you wouldn't mind the sun so much if you had the right products so your hair didn't go all crazy. I know my hair used to get super frizzy when it was really hot, but Lissa was quick to give me all the right products to take away the frizz. Eventually my hair just got better with it and now I don't need to use so much, and what I do use is just for safety measure."
"Can I see what you use?" she asked, her voice meek like she was slightly embarrassed. "I just don't like putting chemicals in my hair. My mom's a dancer and they use so many products and now her hair's really thin and she constantly has to get her hair done at a salon."
"Jill, that's probably because she colors it. I'm not saying products are harmless, you have to be careful with what you use, but it's not the same as getting your hair bleached and colored," I said. "But when we go back inside you can totally see what I use. I might actually have an extra bottle of some things so you can have it."
Giving me a small smile, she thanked me.
"Now, how about we enjoy this water?" I asked before stripping off my shorts and running deeper into the water, diving head first into an oncoming wave.
Going as low as possible before resurfacing, I made sure I was close enough that I could stand and that water wasn't higher than my boobs. I turned around to find my friends, but something grabbed my leg. Shrieking, I jumped back into Sydney, making her shriek as well. Soon Viktoria came to the surface, laughing her ass off. After pushing her into an incoming wave and laughing myself, we started riding waves and diving under them.
When we had enough of the water (which I didn't even know was possible), we got out and went back to laying on the beach, soaking some more sun time and getting a tan before going back to our room.
The next day...
"LIIIISSSSSAAAAA!" I shouted from my room, not moving from my spot in front of the mirror.
"ROOOOOSSSEEE!" she shouted back from her room, making me glare at myself. Two can play at this game. Letting go of my dress, I grabbed my phone and texted her to come to my room immediately.
It took everything I had to not laugh at her. Half of her hair was in a lopsided ponytail on top of her head and the other half was flawlessly straight and flowing down her shoulder. She only had on a white button down shirt that fell to her knees.
"Is that Christian's blouse?"
"You made me come over here to ask about my shirt?" She sounded slightly annoyed, but I could also hear the teasing in her tone.
"No I called you over to help me zip up my dress. I can't get it past my upper back."
"You know," she huffed as she tried keeping the dress close together while bringing the zipper up. "There's this thing called a tailor where you can get a size bigger so your boobs fit and then get it tailored to your smaller waist."
"Ok I'm not about to spend $50 bucks to have someone bring it in a few inches and when I tried it on my boobs fit perfectly!" Looking down, I gave them a once over. "You think they grew?"
"It's possible. All the Russian food you're reading at Dimitri's might have gone to your boobs."
"Can you stop saying boobs!"
"Boooobs!" she teased, emphasizing the 'o'.
"Ok you're done!" I said over her. "You can go finish doing your already straight hair, energy waster."
Leaving, she stuck her tongue out at me and being the child I was, I stuck mine out too. Sitting on the bed, I put on another layer of lotion before grabbing my shoes from under my bed. I had on a coral pink strapless dress with a sheer overlay on the top that had a choker neckline, and had a two layer skater skirt that was slightly longer in the back, and I decided to wear the gold heels I got in the concert and the gold clutch I brought by accident. I decided to let my hair down in it's natural waves, just curling it at low heat to make sure they stay. My makeup was basic except for the eye shadow that was the same color as my shoes, opting for sheer lip gloss that brought out my lip's natural color. After I was ready I went out to see almost everyone was there too.
"Hey that's the dress Estaban was working on last week!" I said when I saw Jill. It was a dirty pink dress with a ruffled skirt that minorly poofed because of the tulle I imagined was underneath and stopped mid-thigh. It had a sheer white overlay and the straps were a thick white lace addition that went down the side of her chest and wrapped around underneath her boobs. She had on dark silver jeweled heels and her hair was up in a bun, a couple strands out and curled to frame her face. Her make up was minimal but shimmered and brought out her green eyes.
"Yea for my birthday he said he'd make me a dress for the holidays and since we didn't go out for Christmas I decided to save it," she said, nervously smoldering down her skirt.
"Well it's beautiful."
"We should be leaving soon. Reservations are in an hour," Sydney said, not looking up from her phone. She had on a simple black dress with a velvet top that had cap sleeves, and tiered sheer black skirt that came to her mid-thigh and was covered in bejeweled velvet trimmings. She had heels almost identical to Jill's except they were a light silver and her a small black velvet clutch with thin, long straps. Her hair was pulled back into a bun, except for her bangs, and I wouldn't be surprise if the only make up she had on was some lip gloss.
Lissa was laying down next to her, her head on Sydney's lap while she messed with her hair. It looked like she was either counting her hair strands or looking for split ends. She had changed out of Christian's shirt and into a strapless pale rose almost beige chiffon dress that stopped mid-thigh and had sweetheart neckline with a small v-cut in the middle. She paired it with pink, almost white, heels and a matching clutch with flowers woven on it. Her makeup matched the dresses pink undertone, adding color to her cheeks and a slightly pink lip gloss.
Of course, Viktoria was the last one to come out. I was about ready to break into her room and drag her out as is when she finally came out. Donned in a navy blue dress, short like all of ours, with lace embellishment on the skirt and top, only the midsection was without lace, and above the lace was navy see-through mesh making it sleeveless. She wore sliver heels that was right in between Jill's and Sydney's tone of silver, and a light silver jeweled clutch. Her hair was up in a loose, curly side updo, somehow able to loose careless but put together and her makeup was minimal except for her smoky eyes.
"Can we go now?" I asked, halfway to the door already. Nodding her head, Vika cut in front of me and opened the door, apologizing for a taking so long. Waving her off, we all stepped, walking arm in arm to the restaurant downstairs.
"Have I told you ladies how lovely you all look?" Daniel asked, his British accent making the compliment ten times better as he met each of our eyes from on top of his menu, making us blush.
"Aren't you a charmer?" I teased once my cheeks cooled down.
"I didn't get Crystal with just my looks and scarfs." He flashed me a knowing smile, like it's not just that and his charming words that won his girlfriend over.
"Are all Euro-Russian man so cocky?" I could practically see Dimitri telling something similar about how he conquered my heart. Daniel flashed a lopsided smile, saying nothing more and making us all laugh.
We fell into an easy conversation, talking about our New Year's resolution and each of us sharing funny and embarrassing stories about our significant others back home. The only break we had was when the waiter came to take our orders.
"So Ryan, you don't have any embarrassing stories about you and Jenny, even if it's something small from when you first started dating?" Viktoria asked, always ready to for new gossip.
"Please," Jack scoffed. "They make Grace look like a damn sinner with how perfect their relationship is."
"Actually," Ryan drew out, running a finger around the rim of his wine glass. Instinctively, I reached out and grabbed my own glass and took a small sip. "There is one story I never told you guys."
We all turned or leaned in to make sure we got the full story.
"You guys remember when I took Jenny to New York with my family for spring break last year?" All the boys nodded their heads. "Well it wasn't exactly a trip I want to remember. You see before I moved to California, I had a girlfriend. Siobhan. It wasn't serious like it is with Jenny, but it wasn't exactly casual. And I never told her I was leaving, I just left. So when we went back, I wasn't expecting to see her. Actually, I kind of forgot about her. I was at the precinct visiting the captain, who was an old coach of mine, and she was there and when she saw me she slapped me. Jenny, of course, was surprised and asked why she slapped her boyfriend. That earned me another slap and when Siobhan said she was my girlfriend first, Jenny was shocked and left. I didn't know what to do, so I told Siobhan to stay put and I went after Jenny. It took a while to patch things up and explain things, and then to go back to Siobhan and explain what happened, but still. That wasn't exactly the best day ever."
It was dead silent for a bit. I didn't know how to react because it was funny for sure, but I still felt bad for him, and Jenny, because that must have been a very embarrassing and awkward situation. Of course, Jack was quick to break the quiet laughing and saying something along the line of that being similar to how it was when Grace found out about Adrian. We all joined in too, awkwardly enough each of us having a similar story. Me with Dimitri and Tasha, Vika with Andre and Avery. Ben with Amy and Adrian, Daniel with Crystal and Tyler, Drew with a former girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend. The only ones that didn't have a similar story were Lissa and Jill.
Drew was in the middle of his story about his ex-girlfriend, Miley, having to choose between him and her ex when a waiter passed by with a plate filled with fried food. My brain was having an foodgasm just thinking of what it taste likes, but my stomach was churning at the smell. Drew had gotten to the part where he told Miley that she didn't have to make a choice because he was done when another waiter placed a similar plate on our table. My stomach was churning before, and now it was about to chuck it all up. Quickly, getting out of my chair, I ran out and asked the host for the closest bathroom, running like never before to get to a stall in time to throw up.
Breathing heavily, I flushed the toilet and slowly got up and walked out, grabbing a few paper towel to wipe my lips before rinsing my mouth a few times. Looking at my reflection in the mirror, I took a few deep breathes and straightened out a few strands before deeming myself good enough to walk out. Unfortunately, I turned around just as someone was walking, her strong perfume hitting my nose too hard and upsetting my stomach too much that I rushed into the stall I was in before, letting out a second wave of puke, and a third since the smell was too much for me. Hastily getting up, I didn't notice the ledge over my head and lost balance. I couldn't really find anything to grab on top and before I knew it the nicely lit bathroom turned black.
A/N: DUN DUN! Wonder what will happen to poor ol' Rosie. What do you think? And sorry I didn't have the boys in this chapter, but it does take a day to get to Turkey, remember? So maybe they're in it next chapter.
So I have some bad news...there's only two chapters left in High School's a Bitch :'( but! the good news is that there's a sequel, so this story is far from over :)
Leave me a review and I might post early!
