Eric had walked into T.U.F.F. with muddy boots. As he finished setting up the water bottle, he turned and noticed Snaptrap wiping up chunks of mud with paper towels. "Where's Agent Katswell?" the cat asked.
"She's in the restroom," the rat answered, throwing the towels in the wastebasket and pulling out a spray bottle of soapy water and a sponge.
Eric trotted across the room, leaving a new trail of mud. Snaptrap pouted, but bent over with the paper towels again. It was about then that Kitty came by. She lit up at seeing Eric, but before she approached she noticed something; whenever Snaptrap cleaned up the mud on the floor, Eric would make a new mess with a smug grin. The rat quietly would clean it again, just for the cat to continue his mischief.
Even if she had never liked Snaptrap all that much, Kitty did not like seeing Eric do this to the ex-criminal. "Hey, Eric," she walked over, "what are you doing?"
Eric smiled as he faced her, "Hi, Kitty!" The handsome cat's charm momentarily distracted the agent, and they chatted until Finny came over with his own roll of paper towels; he'd been wiping up the hallways.
As the two rats finished tidying up the mess, Eric once again stepped his muddy boots on the clean floor. "Hey, stop that!" Kitty remembered.
"Why? It's Snaptrap," Eric gestured, obviously referencing to the past crimes.
"Yeah, but he's reformed, and now Finny's cleaning after you too."
"So? They're just rats."
Kitty's jaw dropped. Just rats? "Finny is my friend, and what's they're being rats got to do with anything?!"
Eric pouted a little, "Well, they're rats...and we're cats, we're natural enemies!"
"Maybe we used to be, but times have changed...you don't have to be a jerk to these guys!"
"A jerk!?" the male cat hissed. "I don't have to take this!" Stomping his muddy boots hard, Eric stormed out of the building.
Kitty and the two brothers-in-law watched him leave. "Thanks, Agent Katswell!" Snaptrap broke the silence, albeit awkwardly.
Kitty tried to grin, "You're welcome." The rat bent over and resumed washing the floor, Finny following with the wastebasket.
Later that day, Finny went over to Kitty and put a hand on her shoulder, "Sorry 'bout Eric."
The cat sighed and shrugged, "You were right, I didn't know that much about him. I'm glad I found out he was a jerk before I made a big mistake."
Finny shrugged, "Ya can't tell with people sometimes. And, if it means anythin', you a real nice cat!"
Kitty grinned, but before she could reply Finny's phone rang and he ran to his cubicle to answer it.
