"but Topanga! I want one! I just have to have it!"

"No Cory! I don't want it running around the apartment!"

he continues to beg as Eric walks up, "oh, let him have it."

"No Eric! We are not getting a puppy and that's final."

"then can I have it?"

Jack yells from across the room, "No Eric! No puppy!" Jason pulls him down, whispering in his ear. Jack looks skeptical, "actually, go ahead. It can be Rebecca's surprise present."

"Yay! I get a puppy!"

Jack rolls his eyes and Jason mutters, "this is going to be harder than I thought." they walk over to the arguing couple, "hey guy's remember me?"

"Jason? What are you doing here?" Cory asks in surprise.

"fixing this maniac." he thumbs Eric.

"good luck with that." Shawn jokes behind him.

"hey, Shawn! You're taller than me. Why am I the shortest one here?"

"good morning Mr. Marsden." a familiar voice says behind him.

Jason jumps a foot in the air and turns to see Mr. Feeny.

"Fe-he-he-he-ny my man! You remember Jason?"

"yes, Mr. Matthews. How are you Mr. Marsden?"

"you're everywhere."

"no, I'm not, I just cannot escape Eric Matthews. You didn't answer my question, how are you?"

"I'm fine."

"and your grades?"

"B average."

"good." he turns and walks to a table.

"it's worse than I thought." he turns to Eric, "so, where's the court?"

Jack nudges him, "this way, he'll never find it." they leave the building and the others.

"he'll never succeed." Shawn sighs.

"poor guy, so naive." Cory agrees.

"Cory! It's not that hopeless. If anyone can do it he can." Topanga chastises them.

They shrug and start humming 'amazing grace'.

"does it hurt?" a cute girl asks Eric, checking his head for bumps.

"not really." he whimpers.

Jason hurries over and looks at his head, "I heard you could get a concussion from a hit like that, do you think you can look after him, until he feels better?"

"I guess so, come on, let's get you taken care of."

"okay." Eric hobbles along.

"get better buddy!" Jason yells after them.

Jack spins him around, "why are you helping him get the girl?"

"trust me, she will nurse him until he makes a mistake, then I, the visiting friend who cares, will be her next target."

"that is... brilliant." Jack says impressed.

"not the first time."

"how does this make him normal?"

"just wait."

"you have a bruise right there, but it doesn't look that bad. So, that was your friend?" the girl asks Eric as she put an ice pack on his head.

"yeah, that was Jason. We've been friends since we were three, he's only visiting for a few days."

"that's nice, what school does he go to?"

"I don't know."

"Why did you get hit in the head?"

"I didn't see the ball."

"what were you looking at?"

"you."

she blushes.

"and the pretty girl behind you."

the friendliness in her nature vanished, "you know where the doctor's office is." she opens her door and kicks him out.

"what did I say?"

He walks to his dorm where Jack and Jason are playing scrabble.

"oh, hey Eric. What's wrong?" Jack asks.

"she kicked me out of her dorm."

Jack pulls out a twenty hands it to Jason.

"that's to bad." Jason fakes sympathy.

Eric plops on the couch, "I'm so lonely!"

"cheer up, look, I saw this cute girl and figured you'd botch it up with the other so I set you up."

he perks up, "did you say cute girl?"

"yeah, she'll be here in five minutes."

"how will I know her?"

"she'll give you a puppy. Now I leave to meet up with someone. Jack will tell you the rest of the plan."

"okay bye."

"so..." Jack asks when Jason is gone.

"I'm getting a puppy!"

Jack sighs.
