Katniss and Gale - The Kiss
Chapter Seven
The three of us stay still. Not knowing what to say or do. Finally Madge breaks the silence.
"It might not even be someone who knows us. Might not recognise our voices. It will be fine. Alice please tell Sean before people find out it will be easier for you. We'll be there every step of the way. We're your best friends Alice. Okay?" Madge says.
"I promise you Alice it will be okay" I say with a smile. She nods and we all hug.
"I can't believe I'm going to be a mommy" Alice says cheerfully.
"And an amazing loving one too" I say.

At half seven Prim, my mother and I head to Gales for dinner. My mother still finds the hickeys on my neck very funny. Though I can guess she knows they're from Gale and she can't wait to talk about us to Hazelle. When we reach the door of Gale's Hazelle immediately answers. She hugs the three of us and we walk into the sitting room where Gale and the kids are. My mother and Hazelle head into the kitchen. No doubt to talk about the hickeys. Prim sits down beside Vick, Rory and Posy to play some board game.
Gale gets up off the couch and comes over towards me.
"Hey Catnip, nice scarf you got there" he says smirking.
"Yea, seems everyone thinks that" I say. "Mother probably talking about it with Hazelle, she immediately knew they were from you"I say laughing.
"Well see what's she's saying" he says.
We walk into the hallway and stand outside the kitchen door listening to my mother and Hazelle.
"What time did Gale get home last night?"My mother says.
"Around nine I think. Why?" Hazelle says.
"Thought so" My mother mutters to herself. "See the way Katniss is wearing a scarf? Covering some pretty little hickeys" She laughs.
"Who's the guy?" Hazelle says.
"I don't know. I think it might be Gale. She was outside the house with someone around nine so maybe." My mother says.
"You think they've finally realised their feelings for eachother?" Hazelle asks.
"I don't know. Time can only tell" My mother says.
They continue talking about us so Gale and I head to the back garden. Once the back door is closed Gale sweeps up behind intertwining our fingers and leaning his chin on my shoulder. I giggle.
"They really do have some theories? Don't they? I wonder if I left a few more hickeys would they notice?" Gale says.
"Hmm. Well I think that would give them the sasification of being right. You and I walking into the kitchen together and me covered in more hickeys, don't you think?" I say teasingly.
Gale smiles into my neck,
"Well, I'm surprised they haven't heard about us since we're the talk of the school and everybody in the seam have been waiting for us to get together." He says.
"Very true"I say.
Hazelle's POV
I get up from the kitchen table to boil water in the kettle when I look out the kitchen into the back garden to see Gale and Katniss. Gale holding her hands and leaning his chin on her shoulder.
" Rose(Ms. Everdeen btw)look, come her!" I say.
"What?" Rose says.
"Just come her and look at this" I say.
She stands up and looks out the window at Gale and Katniss and claps.
"Awh. I was right. I knew it." she says.
"Finally." I say.
Then the kids- Rory, Vick, Prim and Posy- enter the kitchen.
"What's going on? why are you two jumping up and down and clapping?" Rory asks and they laugh.
"We're watching Gale and Katniss" I say.
"What's interesting about that?" Rory says.
"Look for yourself" I say.
Rory, Vick and Prim lean up against the counter and see Gale taking Katniss' face in his hands and kissing her.
"Oh. My. God" Prim says.
" Way ago Gale" Rory says.
Posy tugs on my dress and says, "Up. Up. I wanta see" she says. I lift her up and sit her on my hip.
"Oh. Gale and Katniss, Kissy Kissy"She says and we all laugh.
"Let's all act like we didn't see anything and have a bit of fun with them?"I say. They nod.
