A/N: THIS IS IT! The final chapter. I want to thank everyone who has read this and has stuck by me during the chapter. I really hope you've enjoyed it and that you will continue to read and review. I had so much fun writing this that I think more fanfics surrounding Kim and Tommy may happen. Again, thank you for reading and please remember to review to keep me humble!
Well, if that was dying, it was a lot less painful that what Rosita was doing to me before. I honestly thought it would be cold and empty. Instead, I was warm, and everything was dark. I could hear water in the distance and almost feel a slight breeze. I tried to remember what happened in those last few moments on Serpentera, but nothing came to mind. I laid perfectly still, unsure if maybe I had survived but was injured. I didn't feel any pain though. What was going on?
"Kim, you going to wake up today?" A voice said from a distance, making my eyes pop open. Above me, I was looking at a painted white ceiling. There was a ceiling fan attached to it, a single light fixture on it as well. I had been right about the breeze. I could feel it better now that my eyes were opened. Confused, I turned my head and saw that I was laying in a large king-sized bed. The comforter was a white color, black trim along the edges of it. The bedroom itself was also large, bay windows filling the wall across from me. They were open, and the white curtains billowed in the wind. I heard the ocean clearer now and the stray sound of a seagull now and then followed. Sitting up, I frantically checked my body for any signs of injury or pain. There was nothing. Just a pair of pink shorts and a white tank top. There wasn't a mark on me what so ever. What the hell? Had it worked? Was I back in Florida? Had I managed to save the world from being destroyed? "Girl, are you okay?" The voice said again. Turning, I saw that it had come from Aisha who was standing in the doorway.
"Aisha!" I exclaimed, tossing myself out of bed. I flung myself around her in a tight bear hug and squeezed her as tightly as I could. She laughed, hugging me back.
"Bad dream or something? I told you to lay off the wine last night." She chuckled as I released her. "Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost or something."
"What happened with Zedd and Rita?" I asked, grabbing her shoulders. She looked at me like I had three heads.
"What are you talking about?"
"Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa. What happened to them?" I asked.
"They died. Like a decade ago. Remember?" Letting her go, I ran a hand through my hair. "They died when Serpentera crash landed on Jupiter. You're starting to worry me. What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I replied, smiling at her. "They didn't have kids, right?" I asked. She gagged.
"Oh, good god no. Both their bodies were sent for examination and they didn't find any evil babies hiding anywhere. Did you have a dream they did or something?"
"Something like that." I replied, glancing over my shoulder. "Where are we?"
"Your house. Maybe you had more wine to drink last night than I thought. Come on. We gotta start getting ready. Rocky called and said that Adam was nervous as it is. Don't want him to think that we aren't going to show up."
"Show up for what?" She raised an eyebrow at me.
"His wedding. To Mike. Kim, I think you should lay down some more. You are scaring me now for sure." I shook my head.
"No. I'm fine. Like you said, I drank too much. Just forgot, that's all. Just give me a minute and I'll be there to get ready." She was hesitant but nodded.
"Alright. I'll be downstairs setting up for our hair. I'll make you some coffee. That might help." I gave her a smile before she disappeared out of the bedroom. Adam was marrying Michael. This meant that everything had worked. Everyone was alive. Everyone was fine and going throughout their lives. I sighed a sigh of relief and felt happy tears sting the corners of my eyes.
Taking a deep breath, I walked out the door and up a short hallway. There was another similar bedroom a few doors up and a bathroom that was decked out in all white and black. I found a hardwood staircase and walked down them, finding myself in a dining room. The hardwood floors continued here and there was a large dining room table covered with beauty supplies. Eight chairs were pushed into it, Aisha standing at the end of it, texting on her cell phone. "I swear these boys will be the death of me! They can't find Billy or Zach's vests now. I know I left them right on the bed where I told Rocky ten times I was going to put them." She rolled her eyes, tossing her phone down on the table. She picked up a cup of coffee and held it out to me.
"Thank you." I replied, huddling the cup between my two hands. On the wall behind her, I saw a calendar with the word WEDDING circled on July 21st. That had to be today. Not only had I gone back in time, I had jumped ahead two months on my return. And Billy was here on Earth. This must have meant things had changed for him. Otherwise, he would be on Aquitar.
"If you sit down, I'll start your hair. Yours will be a piece of cake compared to Mike's sisters."
"Just give me a second, okay?" I said, motioning to the coffee. She nodded.
"Take your time. I'm going to call Rocky and see if I can't guide my husband into finding those vests." She grabbed her phone and disappeared into a door way on the left that lead to a kitchen. I could see the stove and fridge from where I stood. It all looked stainless steel and expensive. What had changed so much in my life that I could even dream to afford a house like this? Turning, I saw another doorway that lead to a living room. There was a large television mounted on the wall and a leather sectional across from it. On the wall above it, there were pictures hung up. One of Aisha, Rocky and me. Another was of Jason and Trini on their wedding day. Billy, Zack and Adam were on the one on the far right.
On the other wall, I saw that there were more pictures. These were bigger than the others and in more fancy frames. Stepping closer, I saw surprised to see myself standing in a wedding dress on the beach. I was smiling brightly, holding a bouquet of pink roses in my hand as I looked at the camera. My heart raced in my chest as I turned to the next photo. It was me again, this time Trini standing next to me. She was in a pale-yellow bridesmaid dress, pink flowers in her hands too. Her long black hair was curled around her head and we were smiling as we hugged for the picture. There was a longer picture next to this one and the blast of color immediately caught my attention. There was a mix of blue, yellows, reds, blacks and green as our entire group of friends looked up at me from the picture. Rocky, Billy, Adam, Jason and Zach were dressed in tuxes on the right side of the picture, their respective colors shining on their vests. On the left, Aisha, Trini, Kat, and Tanya stood. They also wore their colors but in matching dresses.
My eyes drifted over to the photo that was mounted on the wall above them all. I was in this one as well, my wedding dress made of white lace popping against the blue of the ocean behind me. Tears welled in my eyes as I saw the man who was standing next to me, his long arms wrapped around me as he pressed his lips to mine. Tommy wore a green vest with a white rose pinned to his breast pocket, his colors as he kissed me shining brightly. How? How did this happen?
"Morning, beautiful." A voice said as foot steps entered the living room. Tommy grinned brightly at me, a clothing bag tossed over his right hand. My breath vanished when I saw him, seeing this wasn't a dream. Looking at my hand, I saw that I was wearing a diamond engagement ring and a silver wedding band under it. A pink and green gem were on it as well, a heart etched into the metal.
"Oh, Tommy." I whispered, running towards him. Everything he was holding fell to the ground as I leapt into his arms. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I kissed him with everything I had in me. He seemed shocked at first but kissed me as well. Pulling back, he glanced up at me.
"Kimberly, what's the matter?" He asked, holding me close to him. "Why do you look so surprised to see me?"
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you. I'm just so glad you're here. With me." Tears streamed down my face as I kissed him again.
"Where else would I be?" He whispered, setting me on the floor. I hugged him close, feeling his heart beat with mine. "I think Aisha is waiting for you. Trini said she was going to take your spot it you didn't move."
"What?" I asked, looking up at him.
"Trini said-."
"Trini's here?" I whispered. How was that possible? Rosita didn't cause Trini's death. The loss of her baby did. She should still be dead.
"Well, yeah. Her and Jase just got here. The baby is sleeping but JC is awake and causing terror." Letting him go, I walked passed him and back out towards the dining room. Jason was standing in there, baby JC in his arms. I didn't see Trini though. Maybe I had misheard Tommy or something.
"There you are!" A voice said behind me from the foyer. "I'm going to jump ahead of you if you don't get going." Turning on my heel, I saw Trini standing there. She smiled brightly at me, her hair now cut shorter to her shoulders. She put her hands on her hips, looking at me.
"I've never been happier to see you in my life." I whispered, wrapping my arms around her.
"Oh!" She breathed as I squeezed her. She returned the hug, rubbing my back.
"Well, I'm glad. I'm happy to see everyone here today. It's going to be a beautiful day."
"Yeah." I said, pulling away and looking at everyone around me. "It will be."
The next several hours were filled with us girls getting ready and Jason and Tommy trying to round up the rest of the tuxes for the guys to get dressed. Rocky, Adam, Billy and Zach showed up shortly after Jason and Trini, each of them seeming a bit concerned by my amazement of seeing them, but it didn't phase me. It was such a good feeling to see them all alive and well, knowing I had stopped their deaths.
From what I could gather from everyone without raising huge red flags, when I managed to stop Rita and Zedd that day with Serpentera, I caused a power shift in the universe. This caused Zordon to call the Power Rangers into the Command Center. They discovered what had happened and the evil empire toppled after that. The moon palace was destroyed and all of Rita and Zedd's minions were locked up to stand trial. Most were found guilty and imprisoned like Goldar.
Without Rita and Zedd, Zordon placed the Power Rangers on an as needed call base. Because of this, Tommy was able to head to Florida to surprise me with a proposal. This stopped me from feeling homesick which lead to my accident. I agreed to marry him, and he stayed in Florida with me until I was finished with the Pan Global games. I did well, placing top marks. I made the Olympic team and scored several sponsorships with some businesses. I scored bronze my first year and gold my second, coming home afterwards. That's when I decided to open my own gymnastics school here in Angel Grove.
While I was training for the Olympics, Tommy was called back into action. He helped the Zeo and Turbo rangers defeat their enemies, coming back to me when I was done with my Olympic career. He went to college for Paleontology and earned a spot on the research team working for Anton Mercer. There was an accident at the lab though, resulting in the creation of Mesagog. This lead to the Dino Gems, something Tommy and I both went to Reefside to discover. The Dino Thunder rangers came around, Tommy joining their team when they needed to help. Once Mesagog was taken care of, Tommy and I were married, and we came back here to Angel Grove to live. He works at our old high school as a science teacher and keeps tabs on the other Ranger teams throughout the world.
As for everyone else, Rocky and Aisha were married two years ago. Billy and his wife were able to work with Tommy and Anton Mercer to create a link for him to be able to travel back to Earth without harm to him. Kat met someone else and moved to England to practice her ballet. Adam met and fell in love with Michael and Zach married Angela. He's still working on Broadway, the both of them living in New York. Jason and Trini were married, Tommy and I both making it to their ceremony this time. Little JC came along a few years later and Trini just gave birth to their daughter, Sarah, a few months ago. Without the stress of Rosita, the Power Rangers and me, Trini was able to have a safe pregnancy where she was watched by her doctors and carried to full term. That is why she was able to survive if Rosita wasn't born. Though she hadn't attack her, Rosita's being made her have the miscarriage that took her life. Everyone was alive and living well, the lives they should have had to begin with coming true.
Since there was no Rosita, there was no reason for Tommy to find the other remaining Dino gems. I left them where Tommy and I had originally found them, keeping them hidden in case the need for them arises. I pray that it never does and that they can stay hidden forever. The Command Center is still destroyed, Zordon's need to return never happening. It pains me that we may never see him or Alpha again, but I know it's also a good thing. It means the world is safe from any intergalactic harm that could befall it. For now, I'll stick with the daily struggles of life rather than the alien kind.
The ceremony spot for the wedding was set up on the beach behind our house. Guests began to show up, filling the seats. Adam paced nervously in our living room while we waited for the time. Another man in a tuxedo showed up, telling me it had to be Mike. He was cute, and I gave Adam a playful smile when I saw him watch Mike cross the backyard. He blushed, fixing his tie. Aisha herded us all into position and the ceremony went off without a hitch. The two were married in a cute, love filled ceremony. My heart swelled with emotions as I looked at all of my friends. No one could understand what this was like for me. Someday, I'll have to explain it to them somehow. For right now though, I'll just enjoy this feeling.
After the ceremony, we headed over to a tent that we set up for the reception. Food was served, and music played through a speaker system. Rocky and Aisha gave speeches while the rest of us sat at the head table. Tommy sat next to me, squeezing my hand now and then and kissing me when he felt like it. Once the food was cleared, he pulled me to my feet and towards the dance floor. Wrapping his arms around me, he smiled down at me.
"Something is different about you." He said, kissing my forehead. He had no idea.
"Yeah? Like what?" He shrugged.
"I'm not sure. It's a good different though." He swayed us to the music, his fingers on the small of my back.
"Well, I'm glad you approve then." I smirked up at him, happiness swelling in my chest. I couldn't believe how life had panned out for me just because of one moment in time changing. Even though I was glad to see it all become something I had always dreamed of, it still pained me to not have been there for any of it. Somehow, I wished I could have gone back to the moment Rosita was prevented rather than now. In any regard, I was just glad to be here now with all of my friends. And Tommy.
"I wish I could freeze time." He whispered, pulling me from my thoughts. I snorted at his comment. If he only knew.
"Why is that?"
"Because I would love to spend just a few hours here with you. You look beautiful. Is this dress new?" He asked, a smirk pulling at the corner of his lips. I rolled my eyes at his corny joke, thankful that he was here to make them.
"You are something else, Mr. Oliver." I replied, stroking the back of his neck with my fingers.
"As are you, Mrs. Oliver." A broad smile filled my face when he called me that and I glanced at the wedding ring and engagement ring on my left hand.
"I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing that." Reaching up, he took my hands in his and kissed the back of them before setting them in front of me.
"Come take a walk with me." Taking my hand, he led me away from the tent and over to a small dock that stuck out into the water from the back of the house. The sanded wood was warm under my bare feet and water lapped at the edges f it as the tide came in. Stopping at the end of it, he reached into the breast pocket of his jack and pulled a small box out.
"What's that?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"I'm not sure. I was hoping you could tell me. Right before I came to Florida to come be with you, Zordon gave me this box. He told me that it was very important that I give this to you on this day. He said it wouldn't open until the right moment and that it had to be you to open it. Do you have any clue what it could be?" Shaking my head, I took the box from him. It was extremely light and a light grey color. Weird markers decorated the top of it and I didn't see where it opened.
"I don't. Did he say anything else about?"
"Just that you would understand what it all means." Lightly, I touched the top of the box and the symbol on the very top of it began to glow a light blue. The top slid open and a brilliant pink glowed inside of the box. Peaking inside, I saw it was the pink dino gem. I was confused. How had Zordon gotten this back then when I knew it was safely tucked into the rock where we had left it? Turning the box over, the gem rolled into my hand. As soon as it touched the skin of my palm, I felt a tug at my navel. I was suddenly not standing on the dock with Tommy any more. Instead, I was standing in the middle of the Command Center.
"Kimberly!" Alpha's voice said excitedly next to me. Turning, I saw he was waiting patiently beside me. "It's so good to see you all grown up."
"All grown up? What do you mean?" I asked, looking at him. He motioned towards Zordon who smiled down at me from his tube.
"Kimberly, it is very nice to see you again. As Alpha said, it's nice to see you as a successful adult."
"Zordon, how could this be? You are supposed to be dead." I said, stepping closer to him. He smiled, nodding.
"In your point of time, I realize that I have passed. The dino gem from your time area has transported you back to Angel Grove in the year 1997. I wanted to thank you for your help in stop Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa in their plans of having children who would endanger the lives of many in the future. You made a great sacrifice, Kimberly, and I wanted to show you my gratitude for this. Please behold the Viewing Globe." Turning, I saw the sphere was glowing. I saw images moving on it and I realized it was Serpentera crashing into the moons of Jupiter. The images changed from that to Earth where Tommy and the rest of my friends learned of the end of Rita and Zedd.
As I watched, each one of the memories I missed played before me. Instead of seeing them, I could feel them being absorbed into my heart, mind and soul. I could recall being there and feeling the emotions I felt when Tommy showed up in Florida. When he proposed to me on the beach with the ring he had bought after I left. When I won my medals in the Olympics and moved back to Angel Grove. Each memory flashed through my eyes, tears filling them as I relived them for the first time. The beautiful wedding ceremony we shared with our friends and the birth of Jason and Trini's daughter. Alpha rubbed my back as the memories caught up to the present time before fading to black. I took a deep breath, recalling all the memories I had just seen.
"I've used a spell to imprint all of the memories you missed because of the time shift. I hope you are happy with the way your life turned out and how you were able to change the world."
"Thank you, Zordon." I said softly, wiping the tears from my eyes. "For everything. You too, Alpha."
"You're welcome, Kimberly." Alpha replied, dabbing at the corner of his head like he was crying. I laughed, giving him a hug. A wave of sadness washed over me as I stood up again.
"Will I ever see you two again?" I asked. Zordon shook his head, the lights on the pillars around him reflecting off the tube.
"Unfortunately, no. With no threat of danger, I will not have a cause to return to Earth. Alpha will continue on with his service to my people, but I will pass on as your timeline predicted." A tear slid down my cheek as I nodded. "I want to thank you and your friends for serving as my Power Rangers. Your team was the most fearless and compassionate team that I have ever mentored, and it does me a great honor to have watch you grown together. The power will always be there to protect you and I will continue to watch over Earth as a protector, even though I will not be needed."
"You'll always be needed here, Zordon." I smiled up at him, placing my hand on his tube. It hummed under my skin and I could feel the energy inside of it.
"Good-bye, Kimberly." His voice boomed as the room began to change again. Blinking, I found I was on the beach with Tommy again who was looking at me with a look full of concern.
"Kimberly! Are you alright?" He asked, holding my shoulders gently.
"What?" I asked, looking up at him. The dino gem was no longer in my hand I realized but the empty box was.
"You zoned out on me and your eyes flashed pink! What happened?"
"Oh." Looking out at the ocean, memories of sitting in a boat with him on our wedding anniversary came to mind and swimming with the other rangers for get togethers did as well. Smiling, I turned back to face him. "I guess it was just something to remind me of who I am."
