After three days of being put under constant supervision with an angry Lily, who was stunned when she saw Myra limping home while the girl covered her chest with her uninjured hand. Yugi without waiting to ask helped Myra with getting in and out of bed so she could prevent less injuries to form. While that happened she noticed him wearing a string which was attached to an upside triangle and slapped him lightly as she pointed at it. He jumped from the slap before looking down at what she was pointing at, he soon released a bright smiled.

"I solved it a few hours ago, can you believe it?" Yugi asked as he sat down beside her. She smiled mentally while shrugging. He chuckled until he saw the fully completed but smooth looking pendent dangling from around Myra's neck.

"I take it you solved the pendent today as well" Myra took out her pen and pad from her bag, very soon she started writing.

"It's a locket but for some reason it's called a pendent since it's never opened for a long time" Yugi frowned but smiled at how she accomplished it.

"Still though, that must of been hard" Yugi commented until he heard a person clearing their throat. They turned to see Lily looking at them with a frown.

"Bed Yugi! She needs to sleep!" Lily warned sternly. Myra took note of a white ferret that was laying on Lily's shoulder. It had blue eyes and watched her with interest even though it looked lax. Yugi noticed Myra pointing at Lily but couldn't understand why.

"What's wrong Myra? It's just my mum" Yugi said making both females stare at him, at the same time the ferret snickered as it knew that he couldn't see it. Lily masked her disappointment but felt relieved that he couldn't see it.

"Alright Yugi, bed time!" Lily warned making Yugi yelp from her sharp tone.

"Sorry! Good night mum, good night Myra!" he called before running out the room.

"No running!" Lily yelled just before Yugi crashed into a table making both Lily and the ferret chuckle. Lily soon turned to look at Myra who was watching them with a slight smile, noticing the woman was looking at her did her smile vanish while her face was void of emotions. She then looked at the pendent with sadness as she remembered her parents.

"So you can see the Ferret?" Myra didn't respond from the statement. "How long have you been able to see into the spirit world?" still no answer which made Lily worry. She sighed before approaching a now tense Myra. Lily then sat on her bed before looking at Myra with sombre eyes.

"I'm sorry about your parents... I truly am, but I can't live with this curse... has the spirit within the Millennium pendent-?" Lily paused now looking concerned. Myra watched her before taking her pen and pad.

"Yes... she stopped three girls from bullying anyone else. They're in hospital for mental issues now" Myra watched Lily purse her lips.

"Why are you a mute Myra, this has been bugging me for a while" Myra shook her head.

"I am not allowed to write or talk about it. She says the game has begun and that I need to keep my mind blank so he can't get me"

"There has been a disturbance from the spirits, it is true that young girls have been stolen... but at your skill level, you'll need practice if you want to be more aware of what is going on" Lily said hesitantly having a bad feeling about allowing Myra's powers developing, especially with all that was going on.

"You deny your history, but you're embracing you abilities of a Spirit Medium?" Myra glared at the saddened Lily. She looked at the sky with a disheartened expression.

"... My best friend was killed for being close to me. It scared me till this day... at first I thought being special was amazing... but after that I couldn't... it was too much" Myra watched her with doe like eyes as Lily began explaining.

"They didn't understand anything... they just banded together except your mother and Madison... I'm sorry I'm acting like this. Not even Yugi knows about this" Myra nodded.

"I really didn't want to leave my friend back in England... he and I had something in common that made us inseparable"

"Like siblings?" Myra nodded now looking glum. Lily smiled slightly before putting her hand on Myra's cheek, she flinched instinctively making Lily smile more.

"So do you have a duel spirit guardian?" Lily asked slyly making Myra blink from the odd question. She looked at the window sill and yelped soundlessly as she saw Essy watching them with a fatherly gaze.

"Evening all" Essy said in a calm tone. Lily's Ferret smirked.

"Hello there, fancy meeting you here" the ferret said in a sly voice. Lily looked at him with surprise.

"When did you see him?" Lily asked in alarm.

"Myra's first night here. He was watching her sleep, tell me why do you worry about Myra so much?" the ferret asked looking at the cat with curious eyes. Essy watched them quietly and then looked at Myra.

"Someone close to me asked me to look after her... I promised them that the moment I was made aware of Myra mixing with someone who would put her in danger, that I would watch over her" Myra's face turned pale while Lily looked at Myra in horror.

"Is this why you had to leave?!" Lily yelled, her face showed that she was flustered while Myra remained blank.

"Does anyone know where the missing girls have gone?" Myra asked them. The ferret jumped off Lily and looked at Myra with a stern expression.

"The girls who are taken end up dead sooner or later Myra, the girl you're looking for might not last long-"

"She's not dead! I know she isn't!" Myra's eyes screamed defiance making the ferret smile at her level of faith and determination for the missing girl. Lily was left stunned while Essy watched silently.

"When it's time you'll know what to do" the ferret said wisely.

"Who are you really?" Essy asked.

"I am known as Farlon, baron of the time gates. There isn't a person who has travelled through time that I am not aware of" Farlon said in a blunt tone. Immediately he gained a golden yellow collar that covered his neck, on the collar was a violet bell that didn't make a noise, his claws were now ruby red and his eyes were now red and had the look of a wise elder, Farlon arms and legs had 3 golden thin yellow stripes that were just below the elbow and knees. Also on Farlon's back were 2 long golden yellow ovals which were on the part of where wings should be.

Myra watched Farlon with fascination but then turned to look at Essy's soft eyes. Meanwhile Lily was observing her guardian and the two who were watching him, with interested eyes.

"Are you a duel spirit?" Myra asked with curious eyes. Farlon smirked before walking towards Myra.

"Yes, and no" Farlon replied in a simple but cryptic manner.

Essy watched Myra tossing and turn as she her slept. Sweat appeared under her brow as she panted soundlessly in her sleep, as she slept she gripped the sheets of her bed tightly.

Inside dream

Footsteps echoed on the tiled floor. Panting could be heard while footsteps continued to beat against the floor.

Myra was running in a white Yukata and black obi, she had a pair of black shoes which tapped harshly as she ran.

"Leave me alone! What do you want with me?" Myra cried mentally as she ran. She felt a presence coming after her, it floated after her in a ghostly but unsettling manner. She heard screams emit from the presence making her flinch as she ran. She turned sharply to the right and fell the moment she saw a huge beast like creature stand in front of her. It had red eyes that shone murder and smiled demonically the moment it saw her.

"I see you!" a demonic masculine voice boomed loudly. He reached for her with his huge hand making her scream loudly, for the first time she could hear her voice shocking her to her core.

"GO AWAY!" she screamed mentally making the whole scene vanish.

"Even if you can't speak, I'll make you speak child. You can't stop me from being released" the demon said before cackling in a bone chilling manner that left her scared.

"In the end I will break you" she let out a silent whimper as she tried to cover her ears from his cruel voice.

"Even if it means using or even turning your own family against you" he said mockingly.

Outside dream

"Myra! Myra! Wake up child!" Lily yelled as she held a talisman in one hand while holding Myra's shoulder in the other. Yugi and Solomon watched with worry on their faces as Myra's face twisted with fear and dread. Essy watched from the shadows with anger and guilt at how easy it was to invade her mind.

Myra let out a soundless blood churning scream of fear before the talisman in Lily's hand began to glow. Suddenly Myra's eyes shot open and she shot up from the nightmare. She panted heavily without any noise as she woke up so abruptly and her eyes were unfocused. She didn't respond to Lily's stroking her check and remained out of it.

"What's happened to Myra?" Yugi asked Solomon who was pale.

"A dark spirit entered her mind son, go back to bed now... it's gone for now" Lily said with relief in her voice as she saw Myra slowly waking up with tears running down her cheeks. Yugi looked at her with reluctant eyes but did as he was told.

"Myra, what happened?" Lily asked with concern. Myra noticed Solomon and Lily and began struggling to put what she saw in sign language, she tried to use her hands since she remembered she couldn't speak. Solomon passed Myra a pen and pad.

"Here use this" Solomon said, the items were snatched out of his hands causing him to worry as he saw Myra writing furiously onto the paper.

"The dark one!" Myra showed them the first part. Lily's eyes hardened.

"What did he want?" Lily asked coldly.

"He's found me!" Myra's eyes started to water but didn't utter a sound. Lily let out a roar of frustration while Solomon was left confused.

"What does that mean?" Solomon asked looking worried. Lily's eyes darkened as she looked at Essy's angry eyes.

"It means that what's been after Myra is here in Domino City. I'm sorry Myra but you need to stay here for a week to train" Lily said making them look at her with shock. Myra nodded in agreement.

"But school?" Solomon asked as he saw Myra's fear filled eyes.

"School will understand father but I refuse to send Myra to school without any idea of how to defend herself" Lily said in a strong motherly tone that made him smile.

"Alright, I'll alert the school in the morning, get some rest you two" Solomon said before going to bed.

The next day Yugi went into the living room after finishing school. The first thing he knew, he was attacked by a strong smell which burned his nose slightly that he then identified to be the smell of lavender and that the room was dark. He watched his mother and Myra sitting at opposite ends of one another with closed eyes. They were in a lotus positions and were deathly silent.

"There you are Yugi" Solomon whispered so quietly so he couldn't disturb them.

"What's mother doing with Myra?" Yugi asked quietly as he looked at his grandfather with curious eyes. Solomon chuckled quietly.

"Meditating. She's been putting Myra through her paces and it's amazed her that Myra's picked things up so quickly. With luck she may be finished before the week is up" Solomon replied with a smile. Yugi nodded while smiling.

"But why does she need to learn to meditate?" Yugi asked. Solomon pondered on the answer for a bit.

"Well Yugi, Myra possesses a thing called the second sight. Like your mother and she wants to help Myra become more guarded so spirits can't invade her mind like last night" Solomon replied softly. Yugi's eyes widened in shock.

"Does that mean that I will inherit the ability?" Yugi asked with awe, seeing this made Solomon chuckle at seeing his grandson take an interest in something like this.

"I'm afraid no, it's a rare gift if a male has it but since you can't see them I can safely say no-"

"But why is there a purple cat next to Myra?" Yugi pointed at Essy who was laying on his belly while watching Myra meditate with protective eyes. Solomon hearing this coughed sharply before a series of loud splutters left his moth causing Lily groan from being disturbed. Yugi on the other hand patted his coughing grandfather's back with a worried look on his face, had he said something wrong?

"Sorry Lily" Solomon whispered slightly between coughs. Lily turned to glare at him before waving at Yugi who was still concerned for his grandfather's sudden coughs.

"What's wrong?" she mouthed quietly to her son.

"Why is there a lilac cat near Myra?" Yugi whispered quietly. Lily's eyes widened in horror the moment she heard his question as she now noticed Essy laying beside to Myra. Essy sensing her looking leered at her as if daring her to move him.

"I'll explain later but go and do your homework" she said grudgingly as she eyed the cat. She also noticed that Myra was awake and looking back at Yugi with curious eyes.

"Myra go with him, training will resume tomorrow" Lily said now feeling tired from what was going on before getting up in order to pack the items away. Myra nodded before running off after Yugi.

"So how was training?" Yugi asked while doing his maths homework with Myra soon after he brought homework from school.

"Tiring, mind if I sneak out with you to school tomorrow? I could use a break" Myra asked while writing an answer for question 4.

"Sorry but mum wouldn't let me" Yugi said with a weak smile. His eyes then turned to Essy who was yawning from feeling bored given that there was nothing interesting to do.

"How did that cat get in here?" Yugi asked now abandoning his homework since the unusual cat piped his interest. Myra soon looked at Essy then at Yugi.

"He's a duel spirit, he was once human before he died" Myra replied as she stroked the lilac feline's back. Yugi nodded.

"So this is why Courtney was bullying you, because you had the second sight?" Yugi observed Essy's blank like eyes.

"Yup, I was never welcome anywhere except when my friend in England accepted me for who I was. He's really cool when you get to know him!" Myra beamed with pride as she thought back to her time at the previous area. Seeing her act like this made Yugi feel a little bit jealous of the boy causing Myra to frown.

"He's like a brother to me, he knows that even when we met around the time he was in pre-school. I've been moving around every four months, it just so happens that I was able to stay there until I was eight" Myra smiled as remembered the time she hung out with the boy.

"I see, well I hope we can be friends" he said with a shy look on his face.

"Ish" she said with a small smile. He grinned at the fact that she was opening up to him.

"It's a start" he said before getting back to his work. Essy snickered before closing his eyes.

"By the way did you notice the ferret on your mum's shoulders?" Yugi blinked.

"Ferret? When did we get a family pet?" Yugi asked making Myra laugh mentally.

"And also Yugi, why are you accepting this so quickly? Surely you should be feeling scared at least?" she asked. He smiled at her concern.

"Mum's a spirit medium so I think it's safe to say that not everything is dangerous or scary. At first I was shocked to see your cat but it seems like it won't harm you so it's alright, right?" Myra smirked.

"Don't be too sure! He packs a punch when it comes to his claws" Myra replied making him laugh.

After a week had passed Myra was able to enter school with a clearer head. However she was stunned to see Joey and Tristan greeting her with a smile.

"Morning!" Tristan said with a grin, Myra's eyes widened before looking at the clear water bottle in her right hand then at him.

"Nice morning right?" Tristan asked eagerly at the now petrified Myra. Joey immediately let out a laugh that made her glare at him.

"What is going on with you 2? Have you gone high or something?" she wrote. Both boys laughed until Yugi came in.

"What's going on?" he asked. Myra rounded at him with her petrified face taking him by surprise, what had happened to get her looking like that?

"You tell me! How come these 2 have suddenly become nice?!" Myra's eyes darted to all three boys. Yugi as soon as he processed her words let out a cry as if remembering something.

"Sorry I forgot to tell you, Joey and Tristan are turning over a new leaf! They gave me back the missing piece of the puzzle" Yugi said with a wide smile. Myra raised a brow.

"You mean the piece that they stole from you?" Myra asked making the ex bullies chuckle nervously.

"It's nothing personal, anyways do you play card games?" Joey asked with a grin.

"Can't I'm not allowed to play certain games" Myra replied with a blunt look on her face.

"Why not?" Tristan asked, shocked by her reply since he had never heard that before.

"Because the last time I played that game you're playing, I put someone into a coma for 6 months" she replied with a plain expression as she showed him the reply. Both boys sweat dropped from her reply.

"I do hope she's joking" Joey replied nervously.

"Sadly Joey, no I am not!" Myra replied making Joey feel faint.

"What did you do? Couldn't the one who lost take it?" he asked.

"No the attacks were real for some reason, so he had a concussion" Myra replied. The trio were left stunned until Yugi tried to break the ice.

"How about I play with you Joey?" Yugi piped up with vigour.

"Sure Yug!" Joey grinned before setting the mat down so they could play. He twigged on something. "Hey wait a minute! Did you just read my mind Myra?!" he cried as she suddenly gave him a dark smirk.

"Do you really want to know?" she asked looking smug as he showed fear.

"On second thoughts I think I'll pass on that" Joey said shakily before starting to play.

"Attention class! We have a new student today!" Mr Devs said with a grin as soon as he saw Myra waving weakly. "By the way Myra I want to see you after class for something, it's nothing bad I just want to ask you something" he said with a reassuring smile.

"Who's the new student?" Myra asked the boys.

"I don't know but I know he's a transfer student" Yugi replied with a whisper since they sat close to the other.

"Class! Settle down now!" Mr Devs said loudly making everyone silent. "Great now enter please!" Mr Devs called from where he stood. On cue the door opened causing everyone to look.

As soon as the person entered Myra without thinking stood up while her hands struck the desk, hearing the loud noise caused people to jump in surprise however she paid no heed since Her eyes widened in shock from recognising who the new student was. The new student had white hair, brown eyes which shone lightly, he wore the school uniform including blue blazer and a ring which had a pyramid inside the ring with 5 arrows hanging down from the ring. The ring was attached to string that could be seen on his neck.

"Now class this is-"

"Michiyo Myra!" the new student exclaimed with a British accent, this made everyone look at Myra and then back at the student who were both looking at one another with shock. Mr Devs on the other hand cleared his throat signalling everyone to be quiet.

"Now young man it's inappropriate to behave like that in class" Mr Devs scolded lightly while he had an amused smile that made the new student blush as he realised where he was. He noticed Myra smirking at him with her eyes.

"As I was saying, this is Ryo Bakura, he was once born in Japan but moved to England when he was young and stayed there until a few months ago. Please make him feel welcomed or I might not be so nice after what happened with the last new student" Mr Devs eyed a nervous Joey and Tristan playfully.

"Sorry Sir" they said sounding nervous as they chuckled weakly, hearing this made everyone except Myra and Bakura laugh at getting caught out. Joey blinked for a bit as he remembered the name Bakura.

"Hey isn't that the kid who I saw when I touched a piece of the pendent that I broke?" he immediately tensed up when he saw Myra glaring at him before she showed Mr Devs a piece of paper which made the teacher chuckle as he approach the boys.

"Joey! See me after class when I'm done talking to Mr Devs please!" it said. The ones who saw it laughed at Joey who was blushing until he saw Myra give him the evil eye.

"Sorry Myra" he said weakly.

"As I was saying Ryo or should we call you Bakura?" Mr Devs asked a spaced out Bakura who was observing Myra's attitude towards the blond boy.

"Ryo's my last name" Bakura replied now feeling nervous from being put back under the spot light.

"Okay Bakura, where would you like to sit?" Mr Devs asked, he soon silent as he saw Bakura walk towards Myra and stopped at the empty desk next to her.

"It's been a long time Myra, I've missed you when you went when you went away" Bakura said calmly. Myra smiled at him now feeling relief of seeing him since she was unable to know if he was okay or not. "I always wondered if I would ever see you again" he said with a bright smile, Yugi on the other hand watched while feeling something odd which left him a bit unsettled. Myra grinned at Bakura's words before picking up her pen and pad that were beside her text book, seeing this made him blink as confusion settled in from he watching her write something down.

"It's great to see you Bakura, you have no idea how upset I was when I had to go so suddenly" she wrote. He immediately looked at her with concern since he didn't understand why she wasn't talking.

"Why can't you talk? Is there something wrong?" Bakura asked now looking more worried than ever. She smiled weakly before writing something down.

"I was involved in an accident that made me a mute" Bakura's eyes widened in horror as he saw her looking at him guiltily, but why? It's not like she caused it right?

"I'm sorry for being insensitive" he mumbled feeling saddened by her reply. She suddenly grinned which shocked the class since she hardly smiled at all.

"No worries Bakura! I'm not mad at you, I just feel guilty for getting involved in the accident" she wrote slowly.

"Okay you two talks over, I need to start the class" Mr Devs said with a warm smile. Both Myra and Bakura jumped in shock as they realised that they were making a scene in the class. Bakura without hesitation rushed into his seat while Myra looked ahead to hide her embarrassed expression.

"Right now we were studying-"

Joey, Tristan, Yugi, Tea and Miho watched Bakura and Myra who were looking at the teacher with muted expressions.

"I wonder how she became a mute" Joey whispered to Tristan who looked back at Joey the moment he spoke.

"I don't know but something tells me that she won't tell us anything, so let's just listen to the teacher" Tristan replied.

After class Myra took Bakura to the roof leaving Yugi and his friends speechless by how she would do such a thing, if anything it was like they hardly recognised her.

"Let's follow them!" Joey said making them glare at him.

"Give them space" Tristan said sternly.

"But Miho wants to check out the new boy! He's really cute!" Miho gushed loudly making Tristan panic.

"Alright! Alright! Let's go" Tristan said now feeling annoyed while Yugi felt guilty for trying to eavesdrop.

"So how has everything been?" Bakura asked as he looked at the scenery with Myra from the roof. To her surprise Essy hadn't turned up leaving Myra to wonder why.

"Nothing much, I just moved from place to place after 6 months of arriving to a new area" she replied with a shrug.

"So you'll be moving again?" he asked now looking sad given that they just found each other after all this time. To his surprise she shook her head.

"Nope! Akane said I can stay isn't that great!" Myra grinned causing Bakura to grin as well. They both embraced the other with a tight hug.

"Why did you have to leave though?! I was crushed when you went" he pouted as he asked the question that had been nagging at him for years. Myra looked at him in a big sister like way as sadness filled her features.

"I'm sorry Baku, Akane said it wasn't safe for me so I had to leave. I wanted to tell you but I had to leave the same day" Myra replied looking glum.

"If I knew that you would of had an accident involving your voice being lost I would of tried to make you stay longer" Bakura said.

"Wouldn't of made a difference" she shrugged.

"That may be, but at least then I wouldn't have to deal with that horrible step mother of mine" Bakura looked down now feeling sad.

"What happened?" she asked, her eyes showed worry.

"She was horrible! She beat me up when I didn't do work or when I did it! Dad never believed me and she almost tried to kill me a few times" Myra's eyes hardened in anger.

"Where is she now?" Myra asked, her eyes showing that she was furious from what had happened to him.

"She's dead" he let out a dry laugh as he spoke, his eyes became unfocused as he thought about it. He soon jumped slightly when he felt her hand on his shoulder.

"She can't hurt you now" Myra smiled at him warmly making him feel safer than before.

"Thanks" he mumbled softly. He stiffened the moment she patted his head lightly then relaxed knowing it was her. He smiled at her sisterly act and looked up.

"Things are going to get better right?" he asked with a look of uncertainty etched onto his features. She grinned at him.

"You bet Bakura!" Myra wrote with a sparkle in her eyes as she tried to assure her troubled friend.

To their surprise they shared the same classes and had the last period that was PE which made Myra grin but Bakura paled at the thought of running laps.

"It'll be fun Baku!" Myra showed him the note. However the moment they looked at the coach being hostel to the other students, they paled in shock.

"On second thought I want to skip out!" her jaw had dropped making him laugh the moment he saw her slowly hand her the note.

"Told you" he laughed earning a glare from Myra causing him to pause. "S-sorry" his head was down while she shook her head.

"Oi! You two get over here now class has started!" the coach roared making them grimace from his drill sergeant like attitude. They walked slowly hoping that time would go faster given who was teaching them.

"Since you two like to play hockey, you can run five laps round the school and you young lady! Give me that note pad and pen! This is a school and if you have something to say" he got in Myra's angry face. "Then say it" Yugi and the others were stunned at the fact that he snatched her pen and pad but he ignored them. The coach blew his whistle signalling them to run.

"Sir please give back the items, Myra can't speak" Bakura said feeling upset from how badly the coach was treating her. He froze up when the coach looked at him darkly.

"Why don't you run her laps then? Or would you like to be kicked out of school?" Bakura didn't respond because Myra grabbed his wrist, her eyes said no talking back leaving him to feel guilty for not being able to help. "Start running then and next time don't talk back!" Bakura's eyes widened as the coach pushed him to the floor causing him to have a scrape in the arm due to the force of the blow, it had forced Myra's grip to slacken making her hold her breath from the sudden action. The coach grinned coldly before turning his head, only he froze as he saw a middle aged man glaring at him in pure anger. Joey flinched as he recognised him but then again who wouldn't know this man?

"Yug, that's the principle" this made the others look at him including the others in their class.

"H-Hello Principle Hou what can I do for you?" the coach asked weakly as he saw the look in the man's eyes.

"Coach Akira meet me in my office now please and Myra" she looked at his stern look. "Take Bakura to the nurse so she can treat his arm. Class is dismissed" Myra hid her grin as soon as Principle Hou gave her back her items. Ryo meanwhile was at a loss for words.

"I gave him the heads up a while ago" Bakura gave Myra a weak glare the moment he realised what she meant.

"Myra... that was a little low" Bakura said meekly as he got up.

"True but he's being sacked since this isn't his first attempt" Myra explained as they joined Yugi and the gang.

"I can't believe he's finally been caught out" Joey said as disbelief continued to stay on his face.

"I wonder how the Principle knew" Tea asked looking completely baffled by the sudden appearance, Bakura eyed Myra as he noticed that she was writing down something.

"I snitched on him because he was rude to me the first time I came to his class, the principle is friends with the chairman but ever since the chairman's daughter was caught out bullying students. He's made a zero tolerance to bullying of any kind" Myra explained. This shocked everyone as they read it more than once.

"That was amazing! Who knew that there were benefits to having you in school" Joey said until he winced from remembering what he did the first time she showed up at school. "Y-You're not mad at me for what I did on your first day?" Bakura blinked as he tried to figure out what he did.

"Still mad but you helped me solve my pendent so I'll let it slide by... half" Myra replied while leering at him. Joey let out a nervous chuckle.

"Sorry Myra" he scratched the back of his head weakly.

Bakura and Myra went out of school once their lessons were over so they could walk home in silence.

"That was an interesting day don't you think?" Bakura asked. Myra shrugged.

"Had better, I just miss the old days when I didn't have school" he laughed as he remembered what she was talking about.

"Myra, you may be smart but don't rub it in" she eyed him oddly as they walked.

"I was homeschooled so what's the big deal?" they went past the burger joint that had a manager that had been arrested not too long ago.

"So where do you live?" he asked as he tried to break the silence.

"In a game shop" Bakura grinned at her while she eyed him wearily for the look.

"That's cool! Do you like living in there?" Bakura asked eagerly. She shrugged making him scowl playfully at her response.

"It's okay I guess... I have an aunt who is a spirit medium, a senile old man and a scrawny boy living with me" Myra wrote, he sniggered at her playing hard get attitude since that was typical Myra behaviour.

"But do you play this game called duel monsters?" Bakura asked knowing the answer without realising it.

"I'm never duelling again Bakura, the last time I played the game. A boy was in a coma" Myra's eyes showed sorrow and self loathing. he nodded as he remembered.

"It wasn't your fault that he played dirty"

"I'm never duelling again!" she repeated looking angry.

"If you could" he looked up at the clear sky. "would you play?" he asked before looking at her. Her eyes looked at the ground.

"I don't know, I really don't know... I'm scared if I'm honest... I'm scared of duelling people if the results end the same way" she replied looking sullen and tired. He nodded showing that he understood.

"I've a secret" she looked up sharply signalling that he had her attention. "I've never told anyone this because I doubt they'll believe me" he said with scared sad eyes. She patted his shoulder as she tried to assure him she would.

"Tell me, it's alright" she wrote with soft eyes trained on him. His eyes were hesitant but he gave in after a few minutes and undid his blue blazer showing her the ring that was dangling around his neck.

"It's about my step mother" he started as he held the ring gingerly. She nodded as she listened.

"You see... dad gave me this before she died. However the moment I touched this, I felt weird and angry. I could hear a cold cruel voice inside my head" her eyes widened in horror but listened.

"He said that he could make her stop hurting me"his eyes looked pained as he spoke "But the day she died, she was about to hurt me with a knife... except the I sent the ring's pointers at her... it pierced her heart and she died. I don't know why I did it. I just remembered blood on my face and clothes... my dad... my dad" Bakura started to cry from the memory which made her feel upset and angry as she knew what he was about to say.

"He didn't believe me... no one did. They thought she was a nice person until a police officer approached me. He wanted to know what happened... at first he didn't look as if he would believe me until he saw the knife near her. He had the forensics people check on the knife which was positive for her hand prints and not mine. Dad still didn't believe me but was forced to look after me until last year" Myra looked at him.

"What happened?" she asked. Bakura looked at her with sad eyes.

"He was killed by a lorry that was speeding so I was left alone. But I still remember him complaining that I was a curse... after all I did kill her" Myra's eyes widened in horror and sadness.

"I'm so sorry! If I had known Baku however but know this. It wasn't your fault that she was disturbed" Myra said with a weak smile. She shocked him by giving him a tight hug which caused him to break down and cry from the emotions that he had repressed over the years. However their time was cut short when Lily showed up. Her eyes narrowed at a scared Bakura who started to shiver. Myra looked behind her to see Lily's angry eyes.

"You home now!" Lily said sharply. Myra shook her head.

"He's my friend Lily! He's having problems and I want to help him so don't try and stop me!" she said with sharp eyes which made Lily glare at the defiant behaviour.

"Do as your told" Lily's voice signalled that it wouldn't end well if Myra disobeyed her, however the girl didn't budge.

"No" Myra wrote, Bakura and Lily were stunned at how easy it was for Myra to defy Lily, to think that she would chose a friend over the woman who's father was allowing her to stay at their home.

"Why are you doing this? Why are you defending someone with a dark soul?" Lily asked Myra with concern in her eyes.

"Because it's not his soul that's bad, it's the ring!" Myra wrote what she said harshly causing Lily's eyes to widen, she looked at the ring and frowned.

"How long have you had that ring?" she asked suspicion laced in her voice. Bakura started to feel nervous as she looked at him.

"A month after Myra left miss, my dad gave it to me from his trip from Egypt" Lily then narrowed her eyes.

"It's cursed, you need to take it off now" Lily said sharply. Bakura looked at the ring with fear in his eyes but did as he was asked. He passed it to Lily who was about to hold it until she felt a jolt causing the ring to fall to the floor. They were left silent for a few minutes until Myra went towards the ring.

"Myra don't!" Lily said but Myra ignored her and picked up the ring with her right hand. She winced from the sudden dark energy but felt relief as the energy began to vanish. She placed it on her left hand to see a burned mark on her right hand where she held it. Lily sucked in a deep breath as she looked at the damage that was caused by the ring. Myra looked at it with curiosity as she examined it. As soon as she looked at the eye which was in the middle of the pyramid she blacked out. She saw people being massacred by people who were wearing strange clothes that were holding swords and spears. She saw the people being thrown into a huge pot, she soon heard screaming and then... silence. After a hearing a strange language being spoken, she saw the pot had gold which was poured over seven holes. Myra then quickly recognised the ring Bakura and the puzzle Yugi wore around their necks being made in the room, just seeing them left her disgusted by the whole thing.

"What?! Those people were killed just for that?! That's barbaric!" Myra yelled angrily until she woke up from her black out. Now seeing that she was on her bed with the ring still in her hands she blinked in surprise. The tired girl soon turned her head to see Bakura asleep near her bedside making her smile weakly at how he would never leave her side, typical Bakura. After musing with a soft smile on her face she then looked at the ring with hatred and sadness.

"To think it's lasted this long" Myra gripped it with anger, she was hoping that it would break but knew that it was solid gold so it was unbreakable and would resist a lot of things that could damage it to her dismay. Sighing soundlessly Myra pouted before looking up at the ceiling. Just then a soft meow caught her attention causing the girl to look to her left. She saw Essy who was looking at her with worry. Essy without wasting time nudged the pen and pad at her even though it rested by her side.

"I saw people being killed just for this and the puzzle that's around Yugi's neck, was this a memory?" she asked now looking sad and guilty for those who suffered. Even through she hadn't done anything to cause the fallen ones misery, she still felt bad after all no one should have to die like that. Essy's eyes hardened from what she said confirming what she saw.

"I believe so, but do you know who's memory it was?" Myra shook her head. He nodded weakly.

"I have a clue, but I'm not allowed to say I'm afraid" he then looked at the sleeping boy "He's been worried about you since fainted" Myra nodded before stroking Bakura's cheek in an absentminded manner.

"Why did that have to happen Essy? It's genoside what happened and it wasn't men that just suffered, but the women and children too. Families suffered and for what? Power?" She wrote with a bitter look on her face while the cat laid on his stomach.

"We cannot change the past Myra, but we can always learn and change the future" Essy said softly, the sad girl nodded glumly.

"I sure hope that you're right, really I do"she sighed soundlessly before he took the pad with his mouth.

"Get some rest now, your hand needs to heal" blinking from his words she looked at the hand that had been burned and saw that it had was covered with white bandages. Strangely enough she didn't feel a thing compared to before.
