Chapter 6: Now who doesn't like a good hunt?

"Baku! Baku it's over there!" Came a peppy voice. The pair stopped by the entrance to a forest that was near a park. The boy panted loudly before putting his hands on his knees as he hunched over in order to regain the air that he lost. Looking up slightly his eyes widened while a sense of unease filled him.
"So this is it? The place people go missing at?" The boy asked as the girl stared at one of the clearing entrances, it seemed harmless but looks were deceptive when it came to mysterious places. Most say it was haunted while some say people vanish once they enter.
"Yup!" The girl chirps in delight as she looks at the trees. "I heard from my guardian that once people they enter get lost forever because there is a force that stops them from leaving, that or the people stop themselves from leaving on purpose" the girl shrugs as she leaned onto the tree and peered inside. The boy shivered slightly at the thought but didn't run.
"Do you think my sister is in there?" The boy asked looking more uneasy.
"Well we won't know until we go inside" the girl replied with a kind smile as she went towards him and placed her hand on his arm. "We will find her I promise" she said with a now determined smile. The boy could only stare in awe at how she would always somehow give him the strength to continue when others just wrote what happened off and went on with their lives. But his friend, she was... well she was different and he was happy to have her around. She gave him the courage and the ability to smile, not just that but she also gave him the ability to know that it was okay to be who he was. He had always been shy and considered wimpy, even when his sister vanished he had been too scared to ask for help. Even from the adults who had shrugged him off and told him to give up on a lost cause. In fact the only one beside his friend was his mother who had been kind to him, he didn't remember much about her but he felt something.
Just hearing that promise his friend made had him smiling, he nodded with a now cheerful smile.
"Okay" he then held her hand before freezing as he looked at the entrance. Curious she tilted her head to the side whole looking at her friend.
"Bakura?" She asked softly before feeling something, whipping her head to where the presence was her eyes went wide as she looked at something or someone who was hidden by the shadows. All they could hear was clinking and deep throaty breaths which made the hairs on their neck stand on it's ends. At first the pair were about to run but she however... they didn't want to.
It was an odd thing, but something about that person didn't seem so threatening. If anything the person felt worn, tired and in more ways than one had almost no hope left. That was until the person saw them.

Bakura's eyes shot open before he sat up and began gasping for air. Gripping the sheets he looked round the room until he slowly relaxed knowing that he was in his room.
"Why... why am I having that dream?" Bakura pondered before looking at his curtains which hid the night sky. Just remembering it left him unsettled since the person they saw years ago was anything but normal. If anything seeing that if it weren't for Myra, just seeing the person would have encouraged Bakura to run. But for her, she wasn't scared at all. In fact she looked surprised to see the person but was unafraid, even now the question of why continued to enter his mind?
Just then Bakura felt pain in his chest and his vision almost darkening.
"Ngh! No... not again!" Bakura hunched over the bed as he fought to be in control "H-how can you still appear? How did you come back?" Bakura cried before hearing a cruel laugh in his eyes, his vision then darkened completely to his dismay.
"Myra... I'm sorry" Bakura felt his cheeks go wet before losing conscious.
The dark spirit now in control smirked as he got out lf the bed.
"Foolish girl, did you think I would easily banished? And you! The fact that you allowed this..." his smirk grew "for what she did, I will definitely take great pleasure in killing her slowly. I just hope that you will be watching boy because these last moments of being close to girl will be her last" the spirit sneered before laughing at Bakura's screams for the spirit to leave her alone.
"Well you two did this, so now it won't just be the puzzle I'll be after… but her life"

Myra woke up tired and groggy thanks to Yugi's constant yelling and shoving as soon as he entered her room. Giving him a cold look she dragged her tired feet to the table and sat down, once there did she rest her head in her arms and tried to resume her nap.
"Wake up Myra or we're going to be late!" Myra cringed and mentally groaned at his loud peppy voice only to hear Solomon chuckle softly at the scene.
"Now now Yugi, don't tell me you woke her up earlier than usual to go out?" Myra slowly looked at the clock which stated that it was nearly half past seven. Her eyes narrowed before giving Yugi a cold look that made him shiver from the intensity of the look. After all it was only Saturday which meant no school.
"S-sorry" Yugi smiled weakly before Solomon shook his head lightly. "I am just really excited for today" he explained shyly. Myra then gave his grandfather a look that signaled for him to explain what was going on.
"There is a museum opening up and it has some Egyptian items that go back five thousand years. I was going to take Yugi with me but it seems like he wants you to come as well instead of letting you sleep in" Solomon chuckled at Yugi's red face as the teen looked down.
"What time does it open?" Myra signed after yawning mutely, her eyes drooping due to being tired. Pointing to the clock with her index finger weakly Solomon looked before realizing what she had meant since he could not understand sign language.
"Oh, it opens at ten-" Solomon blinked as he noticed that Myra was not in the room anymore. Yugi who had blinked was also surprised that she was not sitting in her seat anyone. Instead they heard the sound of a door closing followed by silence.
"I think you should have let her sleep Yugi" Solomon said with a soft smile as Yugi slumped.
"Sorry, but I was so excited to go that I even woke up early" Yugi said softly as he looked at the door.
"Not only that but you put her in a bad mood. Now Yugi I know that you're excited but exercise patience and restraint or you might cause more harm than good" Solomon smiled as he placed his hand on Yugi's shoulder.
"I know Grandpa, I'll apologise when she wakes up" Yugi said softly.

Myra now awake had walked alongside Yugi as his grandfather took them to the museum. Once there did the they split up since Myra wanted to explore which was fine with Solomon as long as she kept herself safe and in open areas. Something she wasn't truly going to do since that would mean making her open to attacks so she kept to herself.
She walked through each room that she came across until she arrived at the Egyptian Exhibit, she had a curious look on her face until she spotted a few carvings that were on the center left part of the room and admired it.
"This was dated five thousand years ago" a man said as he stood beside her. "They said a great depression had occurred causing the whole country to morn for ten days" Curious she looks at him before looking at the carving. "They even said that there had been a serious drought that lasted for two months before the rains finally came, in a way it was a miracle that the people survived despite the harsh heat" a man behind her explained in a semi cheerful voice. "Some say the Pharaoh was never the same when the depression started and was a former shadow of himself" Myra blinked in surprise from what she heard.
"I wonder what would have made him become like that" Myra wrote with a frown on her face, just as the man who turned out to be the curator was about to reply he spotted her writing. "Also he's an idiot for letting his people suffer when he was wallowing" her frowned deepened as she showed him. Solomon however as he walked past saw her note and immediately choked on a laugh given her words. The curator was still in shock as she walked away.
"My... she sure knows how to really shame someone, although... given that losing someone would lead a person to be depressed. It strikes me as odd that she wouldn't be sympathetic" Solomon muses as he soon looks at the drawing Myra was looking at that depicted an event. "Then again... she might have a point there" he sighed now feeling like he had just been kicked and Myra wasn't in the room. Looking around he spotted a sign that said UTD and blinked.
"UTD?" Solomon asked quietly.
"Oh that means Unable To Date" a woman with raven hair said as she approached him. He turned and looked at her when she spoke.
"That is something I haven't heard of" Solomon commented to the woman who smiled softly.
"Well no one knows where all items come from. If we are unable to determine the date or their place of origin we place them in this room" the woman explained as she gestured to the room.
"I see"
"We did find a body that wasn't completely mummified in a forest, sadly there is no data on this person or any registration in order to identify who this person was. However we did find astonishing" she said before walking with him to the room.

Myra looked at the protective case with a frown. It didn't look like the body had fully decomposed except it looked mummified due to the bones. On the body were bracelets on the ankles and wrists that looked like they were made of gold, on the head of the person had a circlet which suggested royalty but it hardly showed which kingdom the dead person belonged to.
"She really suffered when she died" Myra wrote with a sad look as she felt grief and sorrow emanating from the body. A part of her felt like crying just from seeing the body but she didn't know why and if left her frustrated since she didn't know who the female was. She soon then felt another presence only this person had an aged aura. Looking at the person she noticed that he had tanned skin, he wore a white turban and white robes. But what he wore around his neck surprised her- a golden key. He stared at the corpse of the dead female with sad eyes but didn't say anything.
"It's sad that they would place the dead in such cases so they can be viewed to the world like trophies" the man said softly before looking at Myra "do you feel the same way?" He asked but was only greeted with a calm look.
"Obviously! Who would want their body on display? Only a vain person crying for attention would" Myra said with a scowl on her face surprising the man who soon had a soft smile on his face.
"Right" he replied softly before looking at the body, his eyes grew more sad as he tried to imagine what the person felt before dying. As he observed the body he didn't notice Myra's pendant glow for a brief moment.
"Myra... to think it came to this darling" came a hushed voice that was filled with despair and agony, confused the man looked left to see no one until a sudden presence alerted him that someone else was in the room.
"I am so sorry darling that we left you to this fate, if only you could truly cross over" the voice added in silent anguish causing the man to look his right which was where Myra was. His eyes suddenly went wide as an older version of Myra stood wearing a cream jacket with a white shirt underneath, the cream skirt also went from the lower knees to the ankles, lastly the creamy white ballet flats remained undamaged and instead grew to her size. The female's hair was now tied into a long braid that reached up to her lower back while her brown eyes showed how affected she was from what she was seeing. Startled the man took a step back as he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"She is now older and yet doesn't show many changes, how can this be?" the man commented as Myra stood but paid no heed to him.
"My daughter..." Myra said softly shocking him for she didn't speak before, her hands were clenched before the fingers of her left hand went to her lips as tears almost formed in her eyes. "I made these..." the man blinked in surprise from her words.
"A heavenly robe and trinkets to help keep her safe, to help her cross over into the next life but... there are some missing from her body" Myra said tonelessly as she tried not to break down while her right arm gripped her left arm above her elbow tightly causing the sleeve to crease, anger and frustration filled her at what could have happened to the corpse that laid before. Dead and yet not rotting completely leaving brownish bones, to one it would seem like the death was not too long ago and yet the slightly dirty items caused by time and lack of care proved otherwise. Blinking the man looked at the body with confusion despite being alarmed by her words.
"She is your daughter?" She said nothing as she stared at the corpse with mixed emotions, part of her wanted to break down but knew that people would not understand. How could they when they didn't endure what she went through, only now to see some of what happened in her absence filled her with anger and regret for not being there "I am sorry for your loss" he said softly not knowing what else to say. How could he when he didn't know who she was? She was a mute before and had been smaller until this sudden change occurred.
"She will never leave this world without the items..." her eyes narrowed in anger "a thief took them and now the items are now lost... I can hardly hope for a miracle for the thief no doubt took the locations of the items to their grave, but if the items have somehow managed to stay in this country then it would set me at ease" Myra added with a sad but stern look.
"Divine punishment will be inflicted by their misdeeds. Whoever did this may they suffer deeply and never be given refuge" she prayed in anger as her hands moved down to her sides.
"Who are you? If I may ask" the man asked as he felt a strange power continuing to surround her.
"It's quite rude to ask when you haven't told me your name" Myra replied in a cold tone as her eyes remained on the corpse. The man blinked in surprise from her tone and posture, she sounded like she was treating him like a peasant confusing him even more and yet he was unsettled by her regal posture. With the way she spoke, she wasn't stating a fact no she demanding him and in a way he was more unsettled for he almost assumed he would be punished if he didn't speak.
"Shadi" he replied in a respectful tone, Myra remained still as she kept her eyes on the case in front of her until she nodded after some time had passed.
"I suppose it'll be only fair for me to say my name" she said in the same tone. Despite feeling the hairs on his neck standing on their ends from her cold tone, a part of him did understand why she was acting like this for it was never easy to lose someone you love. Not only that but to lose a child was like losing a part of her and no doubt she was trying to remain strong, so she wouldn't break down in front of people who didn't understand. However it left him more interested as to how the dead girl and the one who was standing beside him were mother and daughter. It truly made no sense.

Yugi as he walked alone quickly looked around the rooms for Myra after they went their separate ways. His brows furrowed in frustration as he was unable to spot her anywhere until he came across a room that was said to have UTD artifacts and a mummy. Biting his lip he whipped his head around but didn't call Myra's name as it would cause unwanted attention for the pair.
However once he looked at the direction of where the mummified corpse his eyes went wide from seeing Myra or at least someone who looked like her but looked older, he then noticed the Egyptian man who he had spoken to not too long ago. For some reason he was left looking at her without knowing why, just looking left him feeling a set of emotions that made him want to head towards her. It was strange that someone who looked like Myra was leaving this strange effect on him. It truly made no sense only just before he processed what was going on he blinked and then winced as he bumped into an old man who glared at him.
"What where you're going" he hissed crossly before barging past the upset boy who then turned to look at the pair who stood in front of the case only... the man was gone, instead Myra he knew stood while holding her note pad and had her long stringed blue bag. Gone were the creamy white clothes and instead was a blue top that was being hidden by her black jacket, Myra was also wore black trousers and black shoes compared to the lighter colours. Squinting his eyes he shook his head as he shook out the imagery of the older Myra from his memories and approached her with a smile.
"I was worried about you" he admitted before Myra blinked almost as if she was startled by his presence and looked at him. "So what... were... you...looking...at?" As soon as Yugi turned to look at the case his eyes went wide, meanwhile his throat went suddenly dry leaving him unable to swallow as he stared at the corpse in shock. He immediately noticed that the corpse had not fully decayed but instead looked mummified leaving him more baffled by what he was seeing. It shouldn't be possible and yet it was.
"The body is crying" Myra wrote before tapping his shoulder in order to show what she wrote, her eyes however were brimming with unshed tears that broke his heart from how she was affected by what she was seeing. After reading he slowly turned to look at the body with mixed emotions for dead bodies couldn't cry, it was impossible and yet... the distraught expression of the corpse proved him wrong. How was this possible?

Myra remained distraught meanwhile Yugi remained silent as they walked back home, Solomon as he watched them was left baffled at the sudden change compared to when they were entering the museum. None spoke about what upset them and even went to their rooms without looking back leaving the old man more worried but allowed them to rest since it could be because they were tired. Only the pair remained silent throughout the day and during their meal times. Frowning Solomon watched Myra leave silently as she hardly touched her dinner, now losing his patience from the continuous silence his concern grew he turned to look at Yugi.
"You both hardly touched your meals Yugi" Solomon stated as he looked at his grandson who had a vacant look on his face, his eyes narrowed at the lack of response before placing his hand on Yugi's shoulder which in turn startled Yugi out of his musing.
"Are you okay?" Solomon asked now looking more unsettled by what he was seeing, Yugi looked at his grandfather weakly before wincing as he looked at his food while his hand remained holding his fork.
"S-sorry, just had a lot on my mind" Yugi said feebly causing his grandfather to frown.
"What is it Yugi?" Solomon asked before his mother entered the room to eat.
"It's... just, have you ever seeing a crying corpse?" Yugi asked earning him an odd look from his mother after she sat down and was about to grab her fork. Meanwhile his grandfather blinked in surprise before laughing heartily, seeing this response made Yugi mentally cringe at how he now felt like he was even going crazy and yet what he saw was no illusion. That corpse had the look of someone who was crying.
"There is no such thing Yugi, is this what was bothering you?" Solomon asked with mirth in his eyes, on the other hand his mother frowned but didn't put her fork in her food yet. Yugi bit his lip as he remained unsettled.
"But if there was such a thing-?" Solomon shook his head causing Yugi to go quiet.
"It's just a trick of the eye. Dead people don't cry" Solomon assured Yugi who wasn't completely convinced.
"But the body we saw in the exhibit, it's face looked like it was crying" Yugi countered, hearing this his mother raised a brow.
"And where was the body?" Lily asked as she kept her eyes on him while her ferret narrowed his eyes showing that he was listening intently, Solomon soon made a noise before waving it off.
"Don't encourage him Lily" Solomon said only to pause at her frowning at him.
"Bodies don't just cry, seeing that could mean an omen or..." Lily paused causing Yugi to sit up straighter as he listened close.
"Or what mother?" Yugi asked as he saw her bite her lip, sighing heavily she grew sombre taking them by surprise.
"The spirit is still possessing the body and has not fully left it's vessel yet" Lily replied "but I hope that I am wrong about the body you saw, did Myra say anything about it?" Lily asked as he saw the pair become more pale from her words.
"I-"
"How is that possible Lily? It is impossible!" Solomon exclaimed as he cut Yugi off, Lily shrugged in a nonchalant manner and remained emotionless as she looked at her father.
"There are such people who end up like this if they die in the Sea of Trees" Lily explained blankly only they looked completely baffled by her words, shaking her head she sat up straighter.
"Aokigahara" was all Lily said but it was enough to make the hairs on Solomon's head stand on their ends.
"The place where people...?!" She nodded but looked at her son who was still confused "however those who enter do not always come back alive, their spirits are trapped or they become undead. Some go there as a place to die but are often unable to cross over" Yugi went pale not only from the foreboding cold tone but from what the place was. "People once they enter are hardly able to escape the maze of trees, it is as if the forest is enchanted"
"Lily, don't scare him with such things" Solomon scolded lightly as chills filled his spine, despite that he tried to chuckle in order to avoid the tense mood but he had only been able to release a nervous but weak chuckle.
"I am only stating what my mother taught me, Yugi remember this" Lily said as she held his hand softly "if one is ever to enter you would need to ask the spirits to guide you for it is their guardian's land" Lily said softly as she looked at him with stern eyes.
"But what if they don't?" Yugi asked almost feeling himself shake in fear, her eyes narrowed.
"There will always be one who will guide, a punishment for one who commits a crime that even the makers would howl in anger. If the one has however redeemed himself another will enter in their place, a punishment for one so foul even with intentions that might seem innocent" she warned with a frown. Hearing this Yugi gulped while his heart was beating loudly, his ears went hot but his breathing had gone shaky from fear. Still his mind went to who would have committed such a crime and why? Why do it and what would they have gotten out of it?

As the clock turned twelve Myra stood facing the window with a frown on her face. Fingers reaching for her left arm they twitched slightly.
"I have to help that spirit, but how?" Myra wrote on her wrist with a determined look on her face. Looking down at her mother's pendent and the locket that rested a few inches below her chest, she sighed mutely before a glint appeared on the locket. Her eyes soon narrowed before going to her wardrobe to grab her jacket and opened the door, looking side to side she checked to see if the area was clear and that everyone was asleep. Once she was sure it was safe she tiptoed through the hallway until she spotted where her shoes were located and grabbed them quietly, but had made sure that she made no noise as she took them. Slowly she crept downstairs while avoiding the creaky step until she was now on the shop floor, once her feet were on the cold tiled floor did she placed her shoes on. When Myra was finished tying her black shoes on she went to the door that led to the outside and opened it a tiny bit, she winced and quickly looked behind her in order to check if the shop bell had alerted the sleeping inhabitants of the door being opened. Sighing mutely a small relieved smile formed on her face before she opened the door fully, Myra then quickly but carefully closed the door behind her. Breathing slightly she immediately felt the night's chill but shrugged it off, instead Myra broke into a run as she allowed her feet to guide her to where she would find answers. There had to be someone who knew how to free the spirit but she didn't know where to start. Just then a pair of red eyes that could be seen on a skull entered her mind causing her to remember what she and Bakura had encountered when they were younger, at first they were intimidated until Myra had sensed the entity they encountered meant no harm. Biting her lip she remembered where the train station was and frowned.
"No doubt the grown ups will get mad, but what choice do I have? They can't help, nor do they know where to go" Myra wrote on her arm with a weak look, something told her that it would not end well but... setting a spirit free was worth it. Just that steeled her resolve and caused her to narrow her eyes before running to the train station. As she ran past a set of buildings someone spotted her as they stood in the shadows of an alley way with a smirk on their face.
"So she decides to go out unprotected despite what will happen to her if she does?" Bakura's smirk grew dangerously "such a foolish girl, this just makes killing her all the more easy. After all the darkness can be very unpredictable to those who would be foolish enough to wonder" he said to himself before slowly walking after Myra who was half way to the train station. Once at the nearly empty train station she looks round with a weak look on her face as she tries to look for a ticket machine. Seeing none she bit her lip before spying a man at an information booth and walked up to him, once she was at the desk she immediately took out her notepad and pen before writing down a few things.
"I need a ticket to Mt Fuji please" she showed the tired man who raised a brow at her.
"Aren't you a little young to be travelling by yourself?" He asked with a suspicious look on his face, seeing this Myra looked at him sheepishly.
"No sir, my uncle is sick so I am going to visit him" she replied with a sweet smile, he blinked at the reply.
"Young girl, where are your parents?" He asked bluntly as he saw that she was alone.
"Dead" she replies with a frown, however seeing her words and her expression had now put him on edge.
"Fine, it'll be ¥260" he said as he wanted to put as much distance between them as possible. Hearing the price immediately took Myra by surprise but almost winced as she took out Lily's bank card which she took from the woman's bag before leaving.
"Can I get a return ticket please?" She asked while looking at him with the card now in his hand.
"Sure" he said not looking at her, once the tickets were printed he handed them and the card to her before shooing a surprised Myra away. Shaking her head she immediately ran towards the platform she needed to go and boarded it.

The ticket man meanwhile shivered from thinking about the girl he met, shaking his head he resumed to check the timetables of the trains not knowing who was approaching him.
"A girl with black hair was here just now, tell me where she went" the ticket man froze from hearing the cold tone, looking at the glass he saw a male with long white hair and malicious eyes.
"I-what?" The man stuttered in fear, forget the girl this guy was scary!
Bakura smirked at the scared male who had gone more pale due to fear.
"I'm sure you heard what I said, where did she go?" Bakura asked calmly. The male trembled.
"I-I see l-lots of children, it would be hard to say" the man stuttered before blinking as Bakura vanished once he blinked, freezing the male looked round the area after shooting up from his chair.
Once it was safe did the man sigh and place a hand to his face.
"I must be seeing things" he murmured wearily as he sat down while rubbing his temples due to fatigue thanks to his long shift.
"Really?" Bakura's voice said coldly as he appeared beside the now startled man "because that doesn't sound good" he added in a malicious tone.
"H-how did you get here?!" The man screamed "you need to be an employer here!" The man screamed before falling out of his chair. He gasped as Bakura grabbed his collar and hoisted him up harshly.
"I believe that I am asking the questions here mortal" Bakura sneered coldly as his eyes glinted in the light scaring the man even more. "Where did that girl with black hair go?" Bakura hissed while his face went closer. Very soon a terrified scream filled the room, only no one could hear nor did they come to help.
Dropping the lifeless body on the floor Bakura glared at the man's body before eyeing the computer, to his dismay it was locked and needed a password.
"Maybe sending him to the Shadow Realm before getting the information wasn't the best plan" he muttered darkly.

Myra observed the scenery with a blank look, an hour had passed and she had another set of hours to go before reaching the mountain. Myra soon looked at her watch since she left her phone at home in case they tried to find and talk her out of leaving Domino City, no she wanted to find him. She didn't understand the feeling she had but a part of her knew he could help point her in the right direction, just the task of navigating the forest was going to be a challenge however she smiled at how the forest gave her a sense of ease and yet sadness from sensing the lamented spirits. Despite this she was determined to go, the difference was that Bakura was not going to be there with her to see him. Not that she minded completely since he needed a break from the supernatural, a part of her did suspect that the darkness would return in full force thanks to what she did but she cared not. It was worth the scar to send the cruel spirit away.
Looking at her gloved hand she smiled faintly before looking at the scenery that allowed her eyelids droop, knowing that she was safe in her compartment she allowed herself to sleep thanks to how she was unable to before due to thinking about the crying corpse.
Curling up on the seat Myra used her coat as a pillow before drifting off into a peaceful slumber.
By the time she awoke the train was still on route, but Myra however immediately recognized the mountain from where she sat and knew instantly that she was close. Smiling faintly nostalgia filled her as she remembered this place only for her and Bakura it had been an accident. One moment they were playing in a forest that was near a park, the next thing they knew was that the forest changed to a more dense eerie place.

Something Myra now sensed the more closer she was towards the mountain, it was odd. Odd that such a place was calling for her even though she did not wish to die, no she had a promise to keep and that was to help Bakura's sister return home... wherever she was.
"Attention passengers, we are now approaching the base of Mt. Fuji.
Please make sure you take all personal belongings with you before you leave the train thank you" said the conductor via the speakers. Stretching Myra yawned mutely before looking at the approaching station that was in the middle of a small town. Once she was up did she make it towards the door, she soon pressed the door button after the train stopped and hopped out in order to find the exit.
Looking at the small town's buildings in awe Myra smiled after exiting the station. It was quaint and semi peaceful while the air felt fresh and somewhat clean thanks to the fact that hardly any trains or busses were active in the area. However that didn't deter Myra from travelling to where she needed to go since there was a bus that arrived once every set of hours depending on the day of the week. Given that it was a Sunday there would be a bus every five hours.
"Walking won't be so bad" she wrote on the palm of her hand with a smile on her face. "After all it's nice to get some air and stretch my legs" she added with an optimistic smile as she walked. Nodding sharply she kept walking until she was past the bus stop sign but kept on the path by the road. To her relief it was sunny thanks to it being about eight in the morning, birds tweeted at times and sang from their nests before a few started their daily activities.

Myra felt the hairs on her neck stand on their ends by the time she stood at the entrance to the forest, spooky wasn't what she would call Aokigahara. Haunted and eerie, maybe cursed would be a better adjective for such a seemingly unenhanced forest but sadly looks were not deceptive thanks to the mist that rolled at times. It felt cold and left Myra feeling a sense of hopelessness, that all the joy had been sucked out leaving her feeling defeated. But she breathed heavily through her nose and nodded with a sharp look, Myra before she could turn around took a step towards the unforgiving place. Immediately screams and howls of anguish filled her ears but she tuned them out. They had either made their choices to die here or were unwillingly forced to stay here however, it was nothing to do with her. She could do nothing to ease the innocent's regrets. One thing she didn't understand however was that her feet were guiding her instead of the fact she wanted to sit down and take a breather. Something about this path must have been important, but what was the question.
Just then Myra spotted a ghostly shadow wearing a black cloak at a distance, blinking Myra felt despair and grief filling the shadow as they continued to walk. Almost as if they didn't notice her presence, during that time the locket glowed faintly before Myra took off running after the shadow. Once the shadow lifted a hand and moved it to their face which showed Myra that the person was crying. Seeing that left Myra saddened as she followed the shadow to a dense part of the forest, the shadow soon sat down with their back to a tree. Myra to her dismay was unable to see who the person was due to the hood which after a while was pulled back to reveal a tear stained young woman who looked like she was in her late twenties. Her hair was black while her eyes were amethyst, her skin was tanned revealing to Myra that she was not from this area.
"Brother... why?" The woman croaked mentally as she wept "why did you leave me like papa did? I already lost mama and Anna. Now you too, must I live with my family being so far away?" The woman's voice shook in despair before placing her hands to her face as she wept.
"I'm done, I just want to die" the woman whimpered to herself causing Myra to strain her ears in order to hear, not knowing that someone was approaching her from behind.
"I'm surprised to see you here" said a croaky voice that was breathing throatily. Startled Myra whipped her head round to see who she was looking for. A man or at least what was left of him which was a skeleton wearing what was left of his clothes as time took it's toll on him.
Looking sad Myra pointed at the woman causing him to look at where she was pointing at, unfortunately due to being an animated skeleton it was hard for her to tell what his expression was.
"You have questions?" He asked as he approached her allowing her to see him properly, he then gestured for her to sit down which she did while he followed suit. As she sat down she grabbed her notebook and pencil from her small bag and began writing without delay.
"Do you know who that woman is?" She showed him, as he read she felt amusement filling him slightly.
"Yes, so tell me why you are here little one. How is Domino City?" He asked while croaking a bit with laughter. She frowned at how he changed the subject but relented since he replied.
"I don't really know what to say about it except there are strange people there, I did encounter people I hated before but that's it. Oh and I met Bakura again" she added with a smile, the man stared but Myra felt curiosity coming from him.
"How is he?" The skeleton asked after a while passed, Myra soon smiled faintly before taking her glove off.
"A dark spirit is trying to control him" she signed while showing him the mark. The man immediately went forward so he could inspect the mark, his hand was rough and his fingers tickled the palm of her hand slightly due to the texture of the bone.
"What item was it? Was the spirit possessing something?" He asked sternly, she nodded sharply.
"A ring with an upside down pyramid containing an eye in the middle" she replied, the man's shock and horror filled her as she saw him shoot back as if he was scared to touch her. Getting up he paced a bit before looking at her.
"And you saw no one? Not even the one with no name?" He asked while trying not to stutter, to his disappointment she shook her head.
"I... see" he muttered before sitting down.
"But I saw a crying corpse in a museum, it looked mummified even though it hadn't been embalmed" she added causing him to go completely still.
"Was it... a woman?" He asked almost as if he was dreading the answer, his arms went lax when she nodded with a sad look on her face. "I...see..." he said faintly while having a far away look due to his body language. Myra seeing this blinked in surprise.
"Do you know her?" She signed after tapping his shoulder, jolting slightly his bones rattled a bit before moving to a proper position.
"Did I tell you the story of how I ended up here?" He asked softly, Myra tilted her head at how regret and sadness filled his soul.
"Not really, I remember you and the lady telling me to not speak for a reason we three know" she replied with a frown on her face, the skeleton nodded faintly before looking away.
"...I committed a terrible crime" Myra blinked before her eyes grew wide from shock.
"What kind and why would you do it?" The horrified girl asked while her fingers rapidly moved as she signed, if the skeleton still had skin he was sure he would have bit his lip from remembering what happened.
"I stole my wife's hagoromo in order to stop herself from heading to this woods to die" he replied bluntly as bitterness, dread and anguish filled him. Myra as she heard this went cold and froze, to think the reason would be more shocking than she assumed. Yes she knew he committed some crime but to hear this and see the woman's last memories it made her more sadder than before, it made her want to cry to see such a soul torturing himself for trying to stop his wife only to fail either way.
"Was it because of her brother?" He nodded bitterly before looking at her with his red eyes that hardly gave anything away.
"Just after we left Egypt to start a new, a day had passed and my wife found his body but there was no injuries or blood. It was as if he just dropped dead... destroyed her since she was already grieving for her parents" he said somberly "but she just forgot she had a sister in law, children and me... me but she just up and left me behind like he did! And for what? Because she couldn't take it?!" He clenched his teeth as his hands balled into fists from pure anger, Myra's eyes widened even more from his words as disbelief filled her.
"Unlike her I had no one! Only her and our children and in the end we both missed what became of our children because I tried to stop her from leaving us, I loved her so much and she just left me without a second thought! Does she know how hard I wept from seeing her half dead state? Even after she died I wept but she never went to find me, no she was unable to cross over even after I tried to hand over her stupid items back. Instead she stayed hidden in her shell until they took her body away years later" he fumed as he finally snapped thanks to the emotions that he had repressed over the years, he could almost curse his wife for what she did and yet he was unable to do so. He had been patient with her and what had she done in return? She ran without looking back. Not once did she think about the consequences, something she ranted when it came to her father and brother.
He tensed up and turned his head to see a tear stained Myra holding his hand, it was then that he winced and look away while shame filled him for unloading his pain on to her.
"S-sorry, I shouldn't have done that" he said meekly before the locket began to glow softly to his surprise, he was no fool as he knew what that would mean and cursed mentally for blabbing. By the time the glow vanished a taller version of Myra appeared before him but instead of releasing him she gripped his hand tightly with a look of understanding on her face.
"I am so sorry my foolish daughter did this to you, if I had known... I would never cursed the hagoromo to hurt those who would take it from her" she added softly causing him to sigh heavily while looking away wearily.
"My lady I did this to myself, I have no one to blame but myself. I guess like father like son no? It seems like we never learn from our mistakes" He shrugged coldly, Myra however frowned at how he was quick to ridicule himself and shook her head.
"No... you are better than him and I know he would never have done those things if he hadn't been possessed. I know now Abbas. If he didn't have a shred of light in him he wouldn't have named you after his father, nor would you have been alive to see Myra" she said kindly, he looked away with a blank expression on his face.
"I think you are too kind my lady" he said not feeling like he deserved such words, she shook her head to his shock.
"No, these words have been long overdue Abbas. On behalf of my family I truly apologise, if we can. We can try to end both your curses and do not say it's hopeless because anything is possible" she said with a sly smile as he chuckled throatily from hearing her response.
"I truly wish you both luck for I can not leave this forest" he added dryly. She frowned with a wry smile forming on her face.
"If I can pass my soul into a locket like this then the curse can end, however I need to know about the items that are missing from her body" she said calmly, his shoulders drooped slightly earning him a confused look from the woman.
"Grave robbers came here some time ago, they found her body and took an ankle bracelet and her pendent" the woman bristled from his words, it took all her resolve not to react. No now was not the time to behave in a hasty manner for the sooner the items were returned, the sooner things will slowly mend.
"How long would you say this took place?" She asked sternly. The skeleton's expression showed he would have been frowning.
"About if I can guess sixty maybe seventy seasonal cycles ago my lady" Abbas explained while his red eyes dimmed slightly as he looked down. She nodded with a cross look on her face as she tried to gain an idea of what to do next.
"We will track the items, but I need to know what the thieves looked like" Myra said in a firm tone that left him staring at her, just hearing that tone and her words encouraged him to listen- to respect her as she spoke. Not that he wouldn't listen or obey but he could chuckle at her regal tone whether she was aware of her voice or not, his eyes immediately darkened as he remembered their faces.
"They spoke about a black market, it involved stolen people and items. To them the items fetched a pretty price but the pendent when one touched it burned his face on the right, he would probably have a deformed mark or a-"
"Burn mark" Myra nodded sharply as her eyes narrowed in anger. "What about the bracelet?" She asked, this he looked away weakly as guilt for not protecting the items and his wife remained fresh on his mind.
"The third man had to have his arm from up to his elbow chopped off due to the bracelet as he put it on once he left the forest" he replied as he remembered their screams and a haunted scream that made his bones shiver in fear at the thought of it happening to him. Myra had a wry smile on her face from what she heard his words.
"Spells and curses, if he hadn't done that it would have squeezed his wrist until his wrist as they would say about a balloon- pops?" She added while he gave her a withered look.
"Right..." he did not want that to happen to him and he was more than relieved that it hadn't.
"I think I can track them down Abbas, their auras thanks to what you've said and from seeing your memories will provide me a precise location as to where they will be" she assured him as she placed a hand on his shoulder. Abbas looked at her weakly but she shook her head silencing him.
"You did what any sane person would have done, once this is done though. You two need to talk and I will take no for an answer young man!" She warned "I died because the foolish man didn't listen to me and as a result the one who killed me was able to find that one small window of opportunity. What's done is done but I am wiser and like my ancestor I will watch over these links of our future" she said the last part warmly but with a determined edge that left him in awe before looking away sheepishly.
"I doubt my wife would want to see me, she didn't think twice about leaving me" she smiled softly as she held his hand.
"Grief does make us stupid, sadly that's what it means to be human. But! We can only learn and do better the next time" she added surprising Abbas who then nodded mutely.
"Right" he said sternly, Myra soon stood up in order to brush twigs, leaves and dirt off her dress before smiling.
"Now that we have had this heart to heart, let us burry the hatchet and right the wrongs. Will you be so kind as to escort me to the exit?" Myra asked as she watched him with a smile, her black hair blew slightly thanks to the light breeze but instead of being bothered she loved it and how it allowed her to feel at ease. Grinning Abbas stood up and looked at her.
"He is very lucky to have you, I just wish I met you sooner" Abbas admitted with a meek look despite being a skeleton, Myra placed her hand to his face.
"And I would have been happy to have met you, regardless of your heritage I would have called you son anyways. After all-" Myra's smile grew "if Abidos liked you enough to accept you enough to allow you near Myra, then there is nothing their father could ever say to sway him" she winked causing him to stare in shock due to the fact that he had no eye lids since he could not blink. Just seeing his reaction made her chuckle softly.
"Although the irony is that this young lady is named after your wife, but rest assure she is not her reincarnated. Nor is she me reincarnated either" she added causing him to relax but he did pipe up in surprise.
"But how-?" Abbas took off after her after realizing that she was walking away from him.
"Genetics" she replied simply causing him to stare in confusion "I heard thanks to a reliable source that our DNA can carry onto the next generation and doesn't have to be visible for us to know, it could be the littlest things that are inherited or it could skip a generation. Like Myra's mother who had no powers unlike her sisters but Myra despite that still had powers because her grandmother had powers" Myra commented as she admired the area even though it looked dismal thanks to the spirits and dead bodies that appeared or were screaming from time to time, Abbas listened before nodding as he slowly began to understand what she was talking about.
"Fate does carry a sense of irony" Abbas commented glumly causing her to chuckle.
"Aye, history is repeating and yet I see differences. This time I hope for no love triangles... just being in one would give one a migraine" she muttered wearily as she rubbed her head weakly, Abbas was now left speechless.
"Who?"
"Your father and THAT guy, however my poor mother had your grandfathers bothering her and yet she chose someone that wasn't them" she added with mirth in her eyes as he still remained stunned. Given what she heard from her mother's spirit she almost laughed at the reactions of both men, a real heart breaker.
"Why?!" Abbas cried in shock causing her to chuckle softly at his reaction.
"It might have been our ability to attract those to us, light is a kind power but can be quite cruel if one upsets it" she replied as they spotted the exit.
"When it is time, I will bring you to her" she vowed kindly as she held his hand briefly, not trusting his voice he nodded.
"Thank you my lady, for everything" Abbas said looking grateful, smiling she hugged him before walking away.
"Give me a day to find the items" she called surprising him and yet he mentally wished her luck.
"Be safe my lady, I just wish that you both gain closure as well" Abbas prayed as he watched her form vanish the further she walked. His eyes then went to the sun, seeing it shine caused his red eyes to dim while conflict filled him.
"Cat's in a cradle
Hidden from light's gaze but protected from intruders.
Only one worthy of my blood can see my greatest treasure
For so few can see through my guise
" Abbas said softy, his eyes then caught the sight of a deep blue butterfly resting on a branch of a tree. Just seeing it Abbas soon felt the corners of his mouth twitch.

Myra now back in Domino City began to look around for various markets including secluded shops, sadly she hardly made progress but Myra however as she continued to search could now feel a faint pull from the bracelet, which in turn helped steel her resolve in knowing that she was in the right area.
"I had a feeling that there were strange auras in the area, at first I thought it was the spirit of the ring but it seems the items are giving me a beckon in order to track them down" she smiled softy as she now emptied her mind in order to focus, once the presence grew she opened her eyes to see she was in front of a shop. It seemed harmless to one's eye, but she was sure that it was a façade.
Myra now pushing a lock of her hair in order for it to rest beside her plait entered the shop, she concealed a frown in order to prevent anyone suspecting her. Instead she smiled as she opened the door and entered with a curious look on her face.
"Ah welcome, how can I help you?" Asked an young man with brown hair, his eyes were hardly visible due to his eyelids but she could see his brown eyes that shone like a tiger with the intention of getting money out of her.
"Just a shame I won't be buying anything" she mused before giving him a serene smile.
"Oh I believe you can" she said before using her powers in order to lock the door behind her with a faint click. She now moved closer but kept her eyes on him.
"Where is your grandfather?" She asked brightly while masking the venomous edge in her voice, blinking the man chuckled.
"Why would you want to see him?" He asked as he looked at her with curious eyes, Myra's smile grew.
"Why to retrieve what he stole" she said before sending him against a wall far from her, he grunted weakly from the impact before passing out to her relief.
"Hmph! That was easy... now to find the fool" she said before going through the door behind the till, as she walked she now found herself in a living room and spotted rooms and went to the one room by the far left.
"Hello Takashi" Myra said with a calm look on her face, her tone however revealed how angry but kept her composure.
The elderly man she was seeking shot up weakly and moved away, as she watched him she noticed he was missing his arm from below the elbow which was hindering his progress.
"Gotcha" she muttered darkly before placing her hands on her hips.
"Didn't think I would be tracking down grave robbers" she said tartly as she narrowed her eyes "and yet alas here I am Takashi Li" she said while moving towards the petrified man who was trying to get away but was failing badly.
"Oh don't run away on my part, I just want answers. That and I just want to play with you" she purred while lifting him up with her powers, this earned her startled screams from the old man who immediately grabbed his collar due to instinct.
"Wh-what do you want? Who are you?" He croaked in fear only to hear a series of tuts and a scolding tone from Myra who wagged her index finger at him.
"Nah ah Takashi! You don't have the right to ask after what you did to that corpse, after all it seems the loss of part of your arm has confirmed my suspicion" his eyes went wide in horror while his skin went paler than it should have been.
"Where is the bracelet Takashi? It doesn't belong to you" Myra scolded sharply as his eyes remained wide thanks to fear.
"I don't know what you're talking about" he cried in fear, she frowned at the resonse.
"And here I was hoping for no issues... what a waste of my time, so we shall play a game?" her eyes now glinted with unrestrained glee from knowing that she was getting even.

Horrified screams filled the room before they were quickly snuffed out in an instant after they were released, Myra soon left the room with a golden bracelet with a chain interlocking the mini pieces together resting on her right wrist in order keep an eye on it. Bits of blood were splattered on her top including her light jacket and her trousers. Part of her frowned at what he did but she shook it off since he was now going to a dark place for his crimes. As Myra read his mind during the Shadow Game she had found out this wasn't the first time he stole from a corpse, he had also stolen not just from the living but from important places or sacred areas for profit. Just knowing this sickened her to know that her daughter had been an unlucky victim thanks to the trinkets that made up the hagoromo. However the bracelet was now back in her possession, she now just had to find the pendent in order to help the pair cross over.
Myra froze the moment she heard the sound of a gun lock being clicked, standing by the till she remained calm despite being tense on the inside. It didn't take a genius to figure out that the grandson was now awake and had heard the screams.
"Hand over what you took" he said angrily, she looked at him from the corner of her eye to show she wasn't amused. "What did you do to my grandfather?" He barked as he moved the gun closer as a warning.
"He took his own life, guilt is an unwanted emotion for one who steals" she said bluntly, his eyes widened a bit from shock before they narrowed in anger.
"You killed him! Didn't you?! I know you did so give back what you stole!" He snapped angrily. "Come on! Give it!" Myra however stared at him blankly.
"It is not yours to keep, I was merely paying a visit to a thief who stole from my daughter-"
"My grandfather would never do such a thing so shut your mouth!" He yelled as he moved the gun more so it was right against her head.
"Have you ever killed anyone?" She asked calmly causing him to falter in shock and confusion "…hope you don't have to" she added bluntly.
BANG!
Myra stared blankly as the man suddenly collapsed like a rag doll while his gun hit the floor with a loud clatter. Her eyes narrowed in dislike before kicking the gun lightly so it was away from her.
"Such a pair of stupid souls" she shook her head in disgust before walking out the shop.
As soon as Myra exited the shop she saw Bakura or at least the spirit standing to the left of the shop.
"Murdering mortals are we?" He asked slyly "My how low have you sunk?" Myra soon smirked while his eyes lit up from her expression.
"His hands had minds of their own" she replied sweetly as he soon blinked but found it hard to mask his surprise "in fact the guilt of his own crimes outweighed his need to end my life" Myra said it so simply almost as if she was describing the weather.
"Now tell me why are you back? I was sure you got the message about what would happen if you came back" she asked bluntly. He smirked darkly at how naïve she truly was.
"One can never get rid of the darkness, even you know of this my lady" he said cockily while he said the last bit in a mocking tone. Myra hearing this raised a brow before folded her arms as she stared at him.
"And one must be careful with the light Zorc, it's not as weak as you assume it to be" she replied sharply while she gave him her full attention. His eyes lit up with glee.
"So you do remember me? Here I was thinking the game would be boring" he said darkly meanwhile Myra glared hatefully at him and how he was acting, the nerve…
"All the more reason to halt your revival, I am not as frail as you assumed of me before" he had a dry smile on his face as he remembered what happened.
"A costly mistake, one I will not repeat I assure you" he replied bluntly as he remembered something unpleasant. She remained unphased by his words.
"We will see, but in the meantime give them respite since it's not time for you to play yet" she hinted with a warning edge to her tone, "I see no reason to cause problems now" she added only to frown more as he released a loud mocking laugh.
"Are you taking me for a fool? You are also a mortal who is nothing more than a dead woman that is only clinging onto a child just so you cannot cross over, what can you do to me?" He mocked before she placed her hands on her hips.
"I don't think I made myself clear-" she said coldly while her eyes narrowed angrily, Bakura gasped sharply as his back was sent harshly against a wall while her index finger pressed itself on his chest painfully. "Leave these children alone, compared to what I can do" her eyes narrowed angrily as the area slowly grew cold to his surprise.
"It would make what HE did to you seem like you were swatting an annoying gnat" she said in a stern but semi loud voice, without wanting to he started to shake slightly as her eyes turned black. The worst part was that he didn't know why, nor did he understand why her eyes were now black.
"Ever been possessed by a spirit? Or by several of them?" She asked blankly, not able to trust his words he shook his head as he soon felt a growing feeling claw at his chest. How did she do this? She is only human!
"Do you want to be possessed by hundreds if not thousands of spirits at the same time?" She asked sweetly as her smirk grew demonic like, to his shame he squeaked a 'no' but it was hardly heard properly as it sounded like he was speaking gibberish.
"Hmm? No?" She asked in the same tone.
"E-ah-noo!" He croaked this time his words were more recognizable.
"No? Well you had better do as I demand or I will be coming for you, as for HIM... leave him alone and don't think I don't have eyes. I don't need to be awake and in control to know" she leaned close "so watch your back Zorc or else and by the way I know you what you did at the train station" she warned before sending him to the ground.
"Give the boy his body back, I have things to do" she said dryly as she walked away from a fuming but scared Bakura who shook slightly.
"D-Damn that woman! To think she can do that to me!" He growled before giving his host back his body.
"Watch your back woman, one day I will get you" he vowed as his host looked around fearfully before rushing home.

Walking towards the museum Myra looked at the building with sad eyes, to her dismay the last item was no where to be seen nor sensed leaving her at a sense of confusion.
"Why would it not reveal itself? It knows it's missing from her body" she pondered before teleporting inside due to closing hours. Once she stood in front of the corpse she frowned.
"Now darling, I think you and I need a chat Myra after the stunt you pulled" Myra said sharply as she looked at the corpse. It didn't react or move causing her to frown.
"Myra! As your mother I order you to show your face! Your poor husband is in a hellish state because of you, so you had better show your face to me young lady! You are not five years old anymore, you are an adult" she added sharply only to fume as there was no response.
Her eyes soon turned blue before the casing lid exploded causing the glass lid to fall on the floor, at that moment Myra felt surprise and fear coming from the corpse and almost scoffed as a result.
"Now that I have your attention Myra, show. Your face to me now!" Myra spat angrily, soon a glow appeared from the body before it took the form of a saddened but scared young woman with black hair and amethyst eyes.
"I have been murdered before you three were born, but I am sure that sending you and your siblings to your aunty Isis so you three could be born was a sacrifice that was NOT suppose to be for naught. Yet here you are, the last of your triplet siblings and you are causing trouble even in death. Do you have any idea of how much pain you caused? Poor Abbas, your children and sister in law suffered greatly. It wasn't you who just lost Abidos, they did and his wife lost their unborn child. Her only connection to him and you run like a coward. I am sure your father and uncle taught you better than that" the spirit winced as she looked away from the angry woman.
"Look at me when I am talking to you, as your mother I have never stopped loving or watching over you four. But to hear the messes you, Abbas and your father caused..." Myra shook her head with a disappointed look on her face.
"Mother..." the spirit choked on a sob.
"Do not mother me! Unlike you I suffered after my mother died, how? Because my father became a drunk and attacked me, then what did one of my older brother do? Make it worse, there had been times where I wanted it to end but I lived. Why? Because I had an older loving sister, a sick elder brother who never stopped trying to make me smile despite being unable to have the strength to get out of bed and your father... I still had people who were there for me just like they are there for you. They never gave up so why should I?" Myra's eyes softened as she remembered her father soon after she met with HIM and his father. To her relief her father then soon changed for the better, he had become sober and a better man. A man she was proud to call her father.
"Myra, I know I that it's my fault your father was not there properly to help and teach you but you knew better. You had good morals-" hearing her mother blame herself the spirit looked at her in shock.
"You didn't do anything wrong!" The spirit exclaimed in horror.
"Ah but who kicked him into focusing? He was a good person yes but sometimes he was a little too..."
"Lax when he was blaming himself?" The spirit asked wearily, the pair paused and blinked in a bit before laughing.
"Yes!" Myra laughed heartily as she remembered a few events that were a little silly before growing sad, the spirit soon followed suit and went quiet after recovering from her laughing spell "he blamed himself for his father's death and pondered on whether he could have done something to save him, just like when his cousin had a been a puppet to his own father in order to gain power" Myra said dryly while shaking her head as she remembered how that went down. The spirit frowned before looking down at her hands.
"How do you do it? How do you carry on when you have nothing left?" The spirit asked weakly.
"Life will never be easy Myra" Myra said kindly startling her daughter's spirit enough to look at her. "Death is easy, you die and have to cross over but you are left with regrets. Life is harder but you will have time to do something- to make a difference. To do what you need to do but right now you're stuck in limbo darling, the difference is that your husband is stuck but as an undead who can not move on because he tried to stop you from doing something stupid. But because of what you did he is stuck and is tied to the forest" Myra explained sternly as she gestured to a skeleton with red eyes that was walking towards them as he appeared from the darkness. His eyes were dim and sombre as he looked at the spirit who's hands flew quickly to her face. Shock, disbelief, horror and regret filled her as she looked at the state he was in. There was no way that she could ignore the aura, it was him and... she did this to him.
"A-Abbas?!" She cried in alarm, however he didn't respond as he looked at her with mixed emotions.
"Oh how could I been so stupid?! How could I have left him like that?!" The spirit berated herself as she remembered his predicament, how he gave up being a thief for her a spoilt brat who was tasked with guarding her father's box.
Her face showed guilt and shame.
"Abbas... I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have done that, I shouldn't have left you! Your mother and then your father..." the spirit looked down as she chokes on a sob while looking down, she gripped her black dress tightly in frustration while her hair covered her eyes despite her tears falling down her face "I'm the worst, I really messed up and I never took your feelings into account. It was really bad of me" she said meekly as he stared at her but said nothing.
"I should hate you" he said bluntly, she immediately winced "we missed our children growing up, missed out on them gaining families of their own, teaching them what we knew and of their heritage. But I lost that right because of you, you took everything away from me and as a result I was forced to be confined to not that wretched forest but this rotting corpse that will never truly turn to dust. No one, not even our children knew and they were left unprotected, unaware of what was going on because of your selfishness" he said sharply as she continued to weep but was ignored, no he was tired thanks to her stunt. Yes she was kind and caring when they met, she was stubborn but had a good head on her shoulders until she threw everything away.
"Your father and siblings would be ashamed of you" he added what he was thinking aloud in a condemning tone causing the spirit to wail loudly as what was left of her heart broke even more with each word he spoke, sadly Myra who continued to watch them said nothing as she knew he was right. Her daughter severely messed up and had not only took her life but his. It was something her daughter had to acknowledge even if the spirit didn't want to hear it.
"I should hate and never forgive you... however..." Abbas paused before sighing heavily, the spirit tensed up as she braced his next words "I would be fooling myself" blinking in surprise the spirit looked at him with her mouth parted but no words came out. His eyes were dimmed as he looked away.
"I married you for better or worse" biting her lip tears spilled from her eyes, very soon she tried to get up but could not move from her body much to her frustration. Narrowing her eyes she eyed her body angrily and closed her eyes, the spirit then vanished without warning surprising the pair from her stunt and waited to see what she was about to do.
Just then a loud gasp escaped the corpse which rested in the case before it sat up quickly, it's arms almost flailed as it tried to get up. Staring in shock Abbas watched the corpse who now had red eyes force it's legs and torso to move in a semi robotic manner, unfortunately the body hit the ground with a crack causing Abbas to yelp in shock. Except Myra unlike Abbas released a silent gasp while placing a hand to her chest from the sudden noise, mentally she winced at how that must have hurt due to how high the corpse had been. The corpse then growled as it tried to get up while at the same time Abbas was rooted to the spot thanks to what he was witnessing. To the corpse's relief she was able to get up and soon stood on shaky legs before moving towards him. Once she was close she hugged him while forcing her shaky arms up, she mentally cursed the fact her body was so stiff and weak due to being unused for a long time but didn't give up. Tensing up Abbas remained rooted to the spot as the corpse hugged him with her head resting on his chest.
"I... am... sorry" the corpse forced out as she tried to speak. "If... I... could... I... would... undo... mistakes" the corpse added causing Abbas to feel his legs were about to buckle from her words, no not just her words it was how she was determined to fix things. This was the Myra-his wife that he knew. One who loved and showed compassion, who would always put others before her. Yes she made a selfish mistake, but he had made a bunch of mistakes even if it was just means to help him survive the next day.
"I... selfish... no... think... what... you... went... throu... gh, please... no... mad... at... me... anymore" the spirit said in a raspy tone as she forced her words out, frustration filled her for not being able to speak properly, she wanted to make things right. Yes she didn't show her face to him during those years but she had and still was ashamed because of what she had done, that and she had been so consumed with her grief that she had no idea of where she was or how much time had passed. Unfortunately being properly woken up and being severely told off did snap her out of her broken spell but at a cost she ended up fully seeing the state her own husband-what he had become due to the consequences of her selfish actions. Once, just once she wanted to be selfish and join her family in the afterlife however it had resulted in ruining the one person who not only loved but needed her the most. What kind of wife was she? This was not who she was, she was not someone who wallowed in self pity and turned her back to someone in need, yes she and her brother left their birth home and those who cared for them for example their uncle who had been close with their father. But they were tired. They did not once feel as if they had any place in a nightmarish place that took the lives of their parents and elder sister, the jobs of their parents once they were to be of age were too much of a heavy burden. The people there would not have approved of their choices of marriage, the people there would have said they had sullied the blood with people who were dirty or below them. Fortunately their uncle had been understanding and allowed them to leave in order to avoid regrets and yet... she had made a series of regrets, the very thing she was hoping not to do. However! She was not perfect and was proud not to be, right now she was here with Abbas and her mother, right here in this strange room. Yes the circumstances are bad but she was with them regardless.
The corpse smiled and relaxed as she felt Abbas hug her back before placing his head on top of hers.
"I hope you both have learned your lessons" Myra said sternly as her hands were on her hips, a semi frown was on her face as she looked at them. Yuup! That daughter of hers is definitely like her father only more impulsive to Myra's embarrassment. The corpse nodded and released throaty giggles before nuzzling his chest.
"Yes... mama, I... very... sorry" the corpse said with dimmed eyes but Myra could feel contentment coming from her daughter, she soon removed the bracelet and handed it to her stunned daughter.
"This was all I could find, the pendent was too concealed for me to sense" Myra explained with a sad smile. Shaking her head the corpse smiled while Abbas took the bracelet and placed it on her ankle before hugging his wife once more.
"We... be fine... if it's meant... to be... we acc... ept it" the corpse smiled before Myra hugged her after Abbas allowed them to hug properly. Smiling softly Myra kissed her daughter's cheek before moving back. Soon the locket glowed causing the corpse to blink in surprise.
"Bye darling, may we meet again soon since my time is now up. I just wish I could have been more of help" Myra said, the corpse beamed as she watched her mother's form change back to being younger once more. Blinking the younger Myra yawned slightly before waving at the pair with sheepish eyes. Seeing this the corpse laughed lightly at the sight, it was too cute for her not to react while Abbas smiled and waved back given how he was trying to remain calm despite all that had happened.
"How are you feeling?" He asked her kindly, Myra nodded with a smile.
"Tired but okay, I did see some parts but miss told me to sleep a few times" Myra signed causing the corpse to blink and look at her husband in shock after watching the child use her hands.
"She cannot speak" Abbas explained to his confused wife who stared at him with questions brewing in her mind. Seeing this he smiled before looking at the locket, he soon paused as he noticed something odd. Moving closer towards Myra he knelt down causing the Myras to stare at him in confusion.
"May I?" Abbas asked, blinking Myra nodded at him before watching a boney finger lift a chain around her neck allowing her mother's pendent to be seen. His eyes went wide while the female corpse gasped in shock as they saw the familiar texture and design of the pendent.
"All this time..." Abbas said softly until Myra tapped his hand while tilting her head to show that she was confused.
"What is it?" Myra signed with a semi frown on her face, seeing this he smiled softly before shaking his head.
"I remembered giving this to our youngest daughter before chasing after my wife" Abbas explained.
"Part of... hagoromo" the female corpse explained with a sad smile "my mother's... pendent" blinking in surprise Myra's eyes soon grew wide. All this time and no one knew, pausing Myra looked at her locket weakly. She didn't want to part from her mother's pendent. It was all she had but it was to help so what choice did she have?
"Do… do you want it back?" Myra asked weakly, to her surprise the pair shook their heads before hugging each other.
"I am... just... glad it's in safe hands... thank you for keeping... it safe" the corpse replied with a grateful smile, she soon tried to kneel down only to pull a face as her knees didn't obey and had her right bending in a semi odd angle. Seeing this Abbas helped her so she was able to hug Myra who hugged back.
Both Myras soon parted from their hug before Abbas held his wife close.
"It has been really nice meeting you Myra, not you darling" he said to his confused wife who was giving him an odd look for saying her name like that, just seeing her reaction almost made him laugh but refrained from doing so.
"Why did you... say my name... then?" The corpse asked with an odd look still etched on her face, Abbas hearing this almost laughed while the younger Myra smirked slightly.
"Because her name is also Myra, anyways we hope to see you later. Take care of yourself and stay strong" Abbas said warmly as he ignored his wife's reaction before she recovered and smiled at the girl in front of them.
"But I thought you couldn't leave! Won't someone have to take your place?" Myra asked as she realised that they were about to leave. Abbas soon smirked at the question while his wife gave him a foul look.
"It was a rumour your grandmother and I started to spread in order keep people away. That and it wasn't time for me to leave yet, it was to help but it did more harm than good sadly enough" Abbas commented dryly as he remembered a scared twelve year old who ran from him when she saw him, only she came back years later to hear his story leaving him more surprised at her sudden mature behaviour. Myra immediately felt embarrassment for her grandmother's stunt but shrugged it off since what's done was done. The pair smiled as their bodies started to glow in a soft blue light before they started to vanish.
"Take care" the pair said before they left. Blinking Myra smiled softly at the sweet ending, knowing that the pair were now reunited left her more happy and she was sure the mother was sharing the same feeling as well.

As soon as Myra entered the game shop it was almost closing time, the first thing she saw was a solemn old man and Yugi were either doing stuff on the shop floor or were at the till with an absentminded look on their face. Yugi who was at the till looked up only to blink rapidly as he saw Myra who waved weakly, his eyes immediately grew wide before he ran towards her.
"MYRA!" Yugi cried as he hugged a surprised Myra tightly who almost helped in alarm from the sudden move. Hearing Yugi scream Myra's name Solomon dropped the box he was holding causing card wrappers to fall to the floor. However he cared not as he turned to look at the pair, shock filled him before relief settled in knowing she was alive and well.
"Myra... where have you-?"
"Do you have any idea of how worried we were?!" Lily's angry tone could be heard from the door causing the trio to wince at the very angry woman. Myra looked at her with weak eyes as Lily stormed over towards the pair and placed her hands on her hips.
"Well?!" Lily barked until she noticed something. Kneeling down in front of Myra the older woman immediately pulled her son away from them, this made Yugi yelp from the move but Lily paid no heed. Instead she took the locket into her hand but was mindful of it still being attached via the chain which rested on Myra's neck.
"Your locket's changed" Lily commented as she looked at the back of the locket which had a smooth white texture of the locket on the back. However on the front was gold metal with a white bird insignia on the front. Blinking Myra looked at her pendent and mutely blanched in shock from how different it was compared to before, what was more was that the locket was missing to Myra's horror. How did she not see that happen?
"It seems like the locket merged together with the pendent" Lily mused as a soft smile formed on her face while Myra was still stunned from the sudden change.
"Where did you go? We were really worried about you" Yugi pouted as he looked at Myra. Blinking Myra snapped out of her daze and looked at him.
"Was at the museum" she signed before remembering he couldn't understand causing her eyes to go down. Yugi seeing her expression made him become sad before he rushed towards the till in order to get a paper and pencil which Myra accepted with a meek look.
"I was at the museum looking at the crying body" Myra showed them, Solomon sighed loudly but was ignored.
"Again with the crying mummy, Myra it isn't possible" he said causing the younger teens to frown.
"I want to see her during opening hours" Myra added with a firm look.
"After what you did I think not young lady!" Lily scolded sharply causing Myra to whine mutely. "No buts Myra! You were missing for two days, we even had to call the police because you left no note nor did you let us know if you were safe or not! What if something bad happened to you? Then what are we suppose to do?" Lily added with a furious look on her face.
"No, you are going to your room because you are grounded" Lily's expression to Myra's dismay signaled that the talk was over. Hanging her head Myra went upstairs and straight into her room. Once the door was closed did she go to her bed and to her surprise passed out as fatigue finally caught up with her.

"Ay... that girl, to think she would pull a stunt like that" Solomon sighed heavily as he walked with Lily and Yugi. Yugi as he walked was mauling on whether to leave Myra alone in the house until he saw her sleeping in her room. Knowing she was safe left him at ease and yet he pondered on something, at first he was going to do research to see if he could study something but wanted it to be a surprise. Given the barriers it was hard at times to connect properly so maybe learning this might help.
"I know, but she is home now and undamaged. I am still confused as to why you are taking us to the museum" Lily said with a raised brow "I thought you didn't believe in the crying mummy" she smiled lightly causing Solomon to cough into his fist to mask his red cheeks.
"Um... well... I am curious to see whether it is true or not" he replied leaving Yugi who was now paying attention to be left baffled.
"Right, well here we are" Lily gestured to the museum "let's go see what the fuss is about" Lily said calmly. Yugi soon felt his stomach twist due to being anxious about seeing the body again, what if it was a trick of the eye and they had been in fact imagining things? The last thing he wanted was to look stupid-
"What the?!" Solomon's startled Yugi out of his musings. Looking at his grandfather and mother he then turned to look at the case where the body was. However what he saw was not there three days ago.
There now resting in the case was not one but two skeleton like mummies who looked as if they were hugging each other as they laid in the case. Yugi's eyes went wide as he ran closer to get a better look, mentally apologizing and wincing for his sudden rude behaviour as he squeezed past people Yugi soon stood face to face with the mummies. Adding more to his surprise the mummies were smiling as they hugged the other, not looking as if they wanted to let go. Just staring at them made Yugi want to smile for some strange reason while at the same time, his mind went to what could have happened. There was definitely no second body before and the female mummy had been definitely crying, he wouldn't deny that thanks to what he was seeing now.
"Myra..." Yugi froze as he mentioned her name. Of course! She must have done something. She must have tried to help the female mummy and had succeeded, just this sinking feeling left Yugi sad that she wouldn't think to ask for help and instead went through this alone.
As he looked at the case the idea he had before suddenly appeared in his mind. It was going to be hard but like any game it was definitely going to be a challenge he would look forward to doing it.
"I...I don't believe what I am seeing" Solomon said now looking like he was about to lose his mind. Lily however folded her arms and looked at her father blankly.
"That's what got you three upset?" Lily asked before looking at the bodies "they look happy to me" she said blankly, Yugi mentally smiled as he watched the pair talking loudly about what they had or hadn't seen.

I wonder what Yugi is going to do

Once again thank you for your patience, happy new year!
