A/N - Hey everyone. Hope everyone is ready for Thanksgiving! I know I can't wait to eat later this week. haha I felt you deserved this update, cause let's face it, you're the BEST fans ever! Gonna get to work on a few more chapters for this story so I can stay ahead and get back to updating this more frequently. :)

FOF's

HarleyQuinnDavidson- Thank you dear! Enjoy! :)

BelliceLover- I'd have to agree with you on how difficult it is to find Bellice classics. Even if it is Bellice-centric, sometime's it's just TOO out there. Mine has changes, but they're not totally drastic. At least not yet. lol But I'm glad you're enjoying so far! Enjoy! :)

fang-flames13- Their more in-depth interaction is coming soon. :) And there isn't any history between Bella and Mrs Valentine. They just have a connection through literature/poetry. Enjoy! :)

ray-ber- I'm doing my best to write when I can. :) Enjoy! :)

lilce1992- The girl that BElla kissed when she was young, was back in Phoenix, and I think I wrote in that she moved. I think. But in chapter one when Bella is letting you in on herself, all of that stuff happened in Phoenix. Enjoy! :)

Patriarc101- I'm extremely anal about making sure there are as few, or no errors at all. I can't stand reading a story that is filled with errors or bad grammar or other things like that. . Enjoy! :)

lissie boo- Bella and Alice will be mates, yes. They aren't yet, but that is the basis of this story. Enjoy! :)

Debbie93- Glad you're liking it! Enjoy! :)

Thank you to all the people who have favorited or added this story to their alerts. And thank you to all of the silent readers out there as well. Enjoy!

Alice

After sitting on the cliff for a few hours, and just thinking everything over, I decide that I should talk to Carlisle as soon as possible. By now, Edward knows everything, and I'm sure he's already adamant about it all. And whoever happens to be in or near the house when I tell Carlisle, will find out at that time.

I pull my phone out and send him a quick text message.

"Carlisle, I need to speak with you, it's urgent."

Moments later I get the response that I envisioned receiving.

"I'm in my office at the house, whenever you're ready."

I sit for another few minutes, enjoying the peace that comes with this view. Knowing it will probably be the last peaceful moment I have for a while.

When I arrive back at the house, I see Jasper sitting in the great room with Edward. He gives me a nod and I feel his calm come over me as I ascend the stairs, and then faintly hear the door click as I'm sure he drags Edward from the house. I take my time on the stairs, so that I can scan the rest of the house with my ears. I hear Esme humming in the kitchen, but otherwise the house is empty. Jasper must have gotten our other siblings out, or they just decided to go out on their own.

Breathing an unnecessary breath, to calm my unusually jittery nerves, I knock once out of respect, even though I know he's aware of my presence outside of his door either way. The door is opening in the next second and my father figure gives me a gentle smile as he let's me in.

"How are you today, Alice?" He asks me as I sit down in a chair across from his desk, and he retakes his seat behind it.

"Tormented with a decision that I know I've already made; but it's also one that I know will affect our family." I frown.

Compassion crosses his features and he leans on his desk in a human fashion. "Tell me everything sweetheart. I'm here to help."

"Well, put simply, I've found the girl who I know I'm meant to spend my eternity with."

He smiles slightly, and opens his mouth to speak, but I continue.

"She's a human, Carlilse."

His mouth shuts, and he thinks about this for several moments. "You already know the risks this poses." He states simply, but the gentleness in his voice never wavers.

"Yes sir. But I envisioned it before I even knew who she was. We fall in love while she's still a human. And whether she stays that way or not, whether I act on this or not, I know that I will never know another being in the way I'm meant to know her." I tell him passionately.

He leans back again and let's all of this process. He knows, because he's the one who taught me, that once a vampire has loved, it's nearly impossible for them to love again. Because the devotion and the seemingly gravitational pull we have towards our first love, is so intense and so strong, that nothing can sever it, even in death. And thereafter, no one else could ever come close.

After more, several long moments, he speaks again, "You know that Esme and I will support whatever decision you make. Because if you do come to love this girl, then you'll do anything to defend that love. I just request, so we're both in understanding, that you handle this situation with utmost care and responsibility to first your family, and next to who we all are. Because you know the repercussions that could -and more than likely will- come from this decision." He states, but once again, it's just to inform, and there is no sign of disappointment or anger in his voice. Just worry for me and for our family.

"I swear to you Carlisle, every decision will be made in her and our families best interest. She still has a choice in the matter, and I don't know if she even feels the same. All I have is a vision and an insatiable need to protect her."

"The need to protect her is a mate trait." He gives me a kind smile and I know if it were possible, I would have blushed. He sobers himself up and looks out the window for a moment, thinking once more. "You know you will need to consult with your siblings on this. Don't let them persuade your decision, but they should at least know what is going on, and have the right to voice their opinions on the matter since this will affect them."

"Yes, I planned on speaking to all of them after I spoke to you."

"Ok, Alice." He gives me a smile once more and this time I cannot contain my own as I relax just a little. And whether real or imagined, I feel light headed from all the possibilities swimming around in my thoughts. This really could be the start of my true eternity.

"So, tell me about this girl." Carlisle settles back into his chair, knowing I'm going to have severe word vomit now, but I can sense his warmth about the situation, so I smile happily.

"Esme." I call out softly.

She joins us moments later and I stand to greet my mother. "Alice." She breathes happily, wrapping me in a warm hug. "I was so happy to hear your news." She admonishes.

There are never secrets in this house due to our innate ability at hearing and everything else for that matter.

"Please, tell us about her." She takes a seat on the arm of Carlisle's chair, and they join hands as I recount my story to them of how I came across Isabella, and everything that has happened since. Of course speaking ten times faster than a human made it a pretty quick retelling of events.

"Well she most definitely sounds like a troubled girl, Alice. Do you have any idea why she seems so withdrawn from her emotions?" Esme asks, concern etched into her features.

"The only thing I can figure as of now, is that it's because of the rejection. On her first day, the largest rumor going around about her, was that she was a lesbian." I frown at this, knowing just how cruel people can be. "And if she's been dealing with that kind of rejection for a while, I can see why she'd be feeling the way she does now."

They both silently agree.

Moments later, we hear and sense Rosalie and Emmett's presence inside the house, and I take a deep breath. "I guess I'd better call Jasper and Edward back to the house. It's time I sat down with my siblings." I bite my lip nervously.

Esme walks around the desk and stands in front of me. "Alice, everything with be ok. Some of them won't understand, but in the end, they'll only want what's best for you."

She consoles my nerves and I breathe unnecessarily again. I nod my head before hugging her tightly and pull my cell phone from my pocket. I dial Jasper's number and wait for it to connect.

"Yes Alice?" He answers after two rings.

"Come back to the house please? I'd like to speak to everyone."

"We'll be there in a few minutes." He answers before disconnecting the call.

I nod to my parents again before leaving Carlisle's office. I search the sounds in the house for where Rose and Emmett are. They sound like they're in the living room, so I make my way there.

"I'm glad you guys are home." I say as I walk into the room.

"Hey shortie!" My grizzly bear of a brother calls out to me.

"Hey big guy." I give him a warm smile.

"What were you talking to mom and dad about?" Rosalie asks skeptically.

"As soon as Edward and Jasper get here, I plan on telling all of you."

Emmett just shrugs and goes back to watching the game that's on TV.

Jasper and Edward stroll into the room a few moments later, Edward seeming more moody than usual. And I know it's cause he's already learned everything from Jasper's mind.

Emmett respectfully turns the TV off, and turns his attention to me. Rose looks uninterested, but appears to be paying attention as well. Jasper sends me a ripple of confidence and I give him a grateful half-smile.

"Ok, so uhm." I start off nervously, something very hard for a vampire to pull off, but I seem to be mastering it today. "I wanted to speak to you all about something very important. Something that might possibly have an effect on the entire family." I start pacing, needing the distraction from their penetrating gazes. "You guys have probably noticed my odd behavior this last week or so, and well.. it has to do with.." I take a breath. "With the new girl, Isabella."

Edward's scowl only deepens at the mention of her name as Jasper takes his hand and gives him a pointed look. Rosalie's attention seems to become more focused on what I'm saying, and Emmett just gives me a goofy grin.

"She's my singer." I tell them first. "But as I've already explained to Jasper and to Carlisle and Esme, I could never hurt her."

Rose and Emmett look confused for a moment.

"She's my potential mate." I murmur.

"She's a human!" Edward and Rose say at the same time.

"You think I don't know that?" I ask them in a broken whisper. "You think I don't realize the inherent dangers?"

"You cannot go through with this Alice!" Rose exclaims, standing up from the couch.

"She's right, this could jeopardize our entire family!" Edward adds in.

"Do you honestly think I'd hurt her?" I ask them seriously.

"Not intentionally.." Edward begins.

"But it doesn't mean it can't or won't happen." Rose finishes.

"I think it's awesome!" Emmett finally chips in.

I give him a sad smirk as Edward and Rosalie shoot him withering looks.

"What?" He shrugs. "Alice deserves this just as much as the rest of us deserve to have each other. So what if she's human? I know Alice would never hurt her, and would never endanger a human's life for her own selfish reasons."

Rose's scowl only seems to intensify as he speaks, and Edward looks away indignantly. Hopefully finding truth in our brother's words.

"Look, I'm only telling you all, so that there are no secrets. At this time I have not completely decided what I want to do. All I know is that I had a vision of myself being with this girl. We were in love. And since then, I've only been coming more and more to terms with it myself. She obviously still has a choice in the matter, but there is no way I can continue to go on without giving it some kind of shot. This is my whole eternity we're talking about." I tell them earnestly. "Would you have been able to stop yourselves from acquiring the love you all possess now?"

They know just as well as I do, that love is a very strong bond to break in our world.

"Do whatever you feel is right Alice, but I just don't think I can stand behind you on this. You're endangering our entire family -our entire existence- by doing this." Rose expresses gravely.

I just nod, understanding her perspective.

"I can't even read her mind Alice!" Edward reminds me. "For all we know she could be an enemy to us, and yet you're willing to just chase after her?" He's furious with my decision.

"That could mean anything!" I debate with him.

"And you're willing to run the risk of it being nothing more than a coincidence?!" He demands as he stands.

"Yes." I answer him truthfully, my voice firm with assurance.

A wash of calm falls around the room, but I can still sense Edward's underlying rage.

"Regardless of our feelings on the matter, we all need to be here for Alice. We are, after all, her family. And she needs us right now. So even if you don't agree with her decision, support whatever decision she makes. Because as a family, that's what we do. We back one another up." Jasper's firm tone silences anyone's further debate in the room.

'Thank you.' I mouth to him and he nods.

Edward leaves the room after Jasper's short speech.

Emmett turns the TV back on moments later when nothing else is said, but he shares a glance with me, and I know he has my back.

I turn to head out of the house, and just as I start to cross the front yard, Jasper catches up to me.

"Alice wait." He calls softly to me.

I stop in my tracks, but don't turn to look at him. I know if it were possible, I'd probably be crying.

"You know how he is. He relies too heavily on his ability. And when it fails him, he automatically assumes the worst." He attempts to make excuses for Edward.

"I get it Jasper. But you can't make excuses for his actions. Because he has you and because Rosalie has Emmett, they can't see where I'm coming from on this." I can hear the thickness in my voice, and I roll my eyes at the absurdity of my emotions.

He doesn't respond so I take off into the trees. Just before Edward stormed out of the living room, I had a vision of Isabella deciding to sit at the lake. I'm sure it helped set him off just a little bit more than he already was.

It doesn't take very long for me to come upon the clearing, and as I slowly approach the edge of the trees, I see her sitting in the same place as the first time. I bend my knees, and silently launch myself into a nearby tree, grabbing a branch and swinging myself up onto another. I continue switching branches until I've found one with an open look into the clearing. Making myself comfortable, not that it'd make a difference either way since I never grow tired, I sit and observe the girl who is slowly, and unknowingly, placing a claim on my heart.
