"What do you suppose happened here?" Chris asked with a fearful look as they walked through what was suppose to be a pathway through town. Spotting the high set of stairs left Marium on edge.
"Judging by the damage and how they are so similar, I can only guess that this all happened in a day" Marium said feeling nervous about the thought of meeting what did this.
"But how could that be Miss?" Chris looked at her but didn't let go of Marium's hand.
"The area is thick with miasma which is bad anyways, it could mean a demon was let loose around here. The question is who had much to gain from having it destroy everything?" Marium asked before stopping to look at Chris "I'm sorry Chris, I gave you false hope" Chris shook her head before looking at Marium.
"I would rather have hope than no hope, you said the sword must be here then let's find it. There's no time to lose" she said before a ball of light approached them.
"I thought that there was no life here" Marium observed the ball until it revealed itself to be a pixie.
"Ah Sunny Pixie" Chris smiled while Marium eyed it. "do you think that you could help us?" she asked before the pixie led them towards the stairs.
"Do you know if there are survivors here?" Chris asked while Marium continued to survey as they walked, her blood ran cold as the sight of dry blood stains and claw marks that had torn half a building down leaving it half in tatters while the other half semi collapsed on itself.
"Rosalina, I truly need your help here" Marium said feeling uneasy about the pixie the more she looked at the area.
"Chris please stay away from the pixie" Marium said calmly as the pixie continued to fly ahead while Chris held Marium's hand.
"What's wrong?" Chris asked looking confused before they saw the pixie convulsing in mid air, soon it turned its head revealing monstrous teeth and dark red eyes to their shock.
"Rosalina please" Marium cried out fearfully before blue particles flew towards the pixie, screeching it coughed before disintegrating like it was a card.
"I'm afraid that I cannot stay here long Marium, the miasma is affecting the spirits here" Rosalina said beside Marium before vanishing to their dismay.
"We have to find the source or something that would help them. We have no choice but to take them down..." Marium sighed while Chris looked at her fearfully.
"D-Did my father do this?" Chris asked as sorrow filled her eyes, Marium hugged her tightly.
"No Chris, this time it wasn't him. Someone from inside did it, these people despite being safe were trapped when the massacre happened. They were like rats in a cage, it had to be an insider but who would do it and why?" Marium muttered lowly.
"Myra do you think you can come out? We would need you to help us purge-"
"What am I multigenerational mood ring?! I do NOT have his power regardless of who were my ancestors. With Abbas it was lucky I gained the Cat's Cradle because someone has been compromised and because yes I have his blood. But that doesn't make me his successor, once the successor is free they would have to take Abbas' place. Last time I checked Sky's line has remain dormant so why bother asking him for help?" Myra snapped causing Marium to wince "Stop asking me to do impossible tasks I am not superhuman and neither are you. If I need to help I will but now there is nothing I can do" Myra added causing the woman to sigh.
"S-Sorry just a though" Marium said weakly before looking at Chris.
"Ending them it is then, I feel bad about it but there is nothing we can do" Marium explained, quietly the pair continued to walk up the steps towards the ruined building. Staring at was once a symbol of hope be reduced to ruin and despair filled the pair with a sadness that hadn't touched them in a while. Blood was stained more badly on the top floor, chunks of rubble that came from the palace. Using her powers Marium lifted some beams blocking the entrance to see half a dried fountain while the other half had been reduced to pieces. Swallowing away the tears Marium held Chris' hand while they walked past the fountain to see what would have been a grand room, Marium heard traces of ceremonial music followed by the smell of incense which caught her attention.
"This is a Ceremonial room, the dead were called here as well among other things" Marium explained catching Chris' interest.
"It is a shame that it all had to go" Marium nodded in agreement.
"The sword has to be in this building, even though common sense would say to take it with her"
"What if she had no time to take it?" Chris asked with a curious look.
"Then this was an ambush... and judging by how every part here that was damaged is identical. I'd say one thing or person did this" Marium responded with a very worried look. Pale Chris' hand shook in Marium's.
"Do you think that the one responsible is here?" Chris asked now wanting to leave. Marium looked around before going towards a set of stairs.
"No... they are not here anymore" Marium stopped as she entered another room.
"How can you be sure?" Chris asked before gasping as she saw a room covered in blood.
"A ritual to silence the one responsible was half done" Marium explained as she stared at the remains of a broken claw and deformed wing laid scattered from the other.
"I don't like it here, I want to leave" Chris' voice wobbled in fear as they left the room through the other side.
"The sword should be in her room-oh here?" Marium eyed a sword emitting a dim light.
"Why was it left here?" Chris asked before Marium knelt down to take it.
"Espira you need to go through that portal now, this will take you somewhere safe" a male voice entered Marium's ears.
"What?! But what about everyone else? I will not leave when they're being slaughtered!" A female voice said sharply.
"Espira, the survivors are trying to escape! The Royal blood line has to continue, there will be no royal bloodlines left if you die and you have a child to look after. Leave if not for me then for the baby" Marium heard pain in the male's voice before feeling her face go red as she heard a brief kissing noise.
"Zerken please! I don't care what happens to me as long as she is stopped" Espira cried as she grew desperate, she didn't want leave anyone least of all him.
"Espira you're making this harder. Do you think that I want to send you away? I have to otherwise she will finish what she started. She's already caused chaos in this kingdom, everything is falling apart and there is nothing you can do" Zerken yelled "Now go through that portal, it will send you to the time stream, hide there until it is safe to leave. Do you understand?" he asked sternly causing a sob to leave Espira's throat.
"How did it come to this?" Espira cried before looking at the portal and then at him wearily, sword remained tightly in her hand wanting nothing more than to fight.
"Because you stole what was mine!" said a vengeful cruel voice that made them gasp.
"Y-You?!" Zerken yelled in anger "YOU'RE BEHIND THIS ZERLA?!" Marium felt Espira's shock, horror and fear which intensified by the woman's laugh. Marium closed her eyes in order to see who it was that scared the woman, only she wished that she hadn't. There floating by the doorway leading to the altar used for ceremonies was a figure in gold scale like armour with long goldish yellow fingers containing long nails, small pointy yellow horns could be seen point up from above pointy ears, her eyes contained black slits, her skin was pale but contained yellow that was a little lighter then gold, she had bony yellow thick wings that took the shape of a wishbone that had been snapped leaving the long sharp parts, she had a long golden yellow tail which was semi thin but was pointy at the end, her legs were that of a woman but contained scaley armor like her arms and her nails were semi long which would be a problem to those who endured a kick from her.
"Miss Marium?" Chris called now seeing fear on Marium's face despite her eyes being closed.
"What have you done?" Espira cried in horror from the demonic form the woman had taken.
"I seeked a higher power who gave me this power... in exchange for your life, for him to be by my side" Zerla said in a nasal tone, Zerken growled angrily.
"You sold your soul to the devil?!" he yelled with disbelief written on his face.
"Oh hush... as if, in fact the one helped me knew about your family... a little too well" Zerla smirked while the pair looked baffled but on guard "in fact he wanted your line to die curiously enough so who am I to refuse" Zerken placed Espira behind him.
"Stay away from her!" he warned causing her to chuckle cruelly which got him glaring.
"You are just a man, a leader of your clan but nothing more. What would it take to kill a Priestess Queen I had wondered?" Zerla placed a hand to up to cup her face while crossing her knees in mid air, her tail moved side to side in a slow manner.
"Well... to start anarchy would be needed and then... when everyone else was distracted" Zerla snapped her fingers with a glint in her eyes "I'd snap her pretty little neck" Espira felt her eyes widen again in horror at the atrocious act Zerla was up to, how could they even prevent it? This whole kingdom had been peaceful, just how did this-this demoness turn everyone against each other so easily?
"You will not touch her demon!" he warned causing Zerla to laugh at his bravo despite the fact bitterness continued to fill her from the fact he would chose the nameless queen over her. Why? She was suppose to be arranged to be married to him, she saw him first and yet he chose an orphan queen who survived an assassination attempt, she broke the rules and married him in secret. Oh Zerla watched them like criminals one night and it took everything not to kill that brat. But she had been patient, she was going to get her revenge and it arrived a month later and then... she sowed discord about the queen and fellow tribesman and watched it unfold before her eyes. Now here she was only as expected he would be here with the nobody.
"And how will you stop me?" Zerla laughed with glee, Zerken huffed before looking at Espira.
"Espira, stay safe no matter what" Zerken said causing the pair to become confused until- he shoved a startled Espira towards the portal.
"Zerken!" Espira screamed frantically as she dropped her sword on the floor causing a loud clatter to enter their ears, Zerla's eyes widened in shock before they hardened in anger.
"She will not escape!" Zerla growled before releasing a black ball containing purple veins that pulsated in and out the ball. Not wasting time she shot it straight at Espira who was just seconds from entering the portal thanks to it's pull. A loud scream filled their ears before it was snuffed out when she vanished inside.
Marium cringed and bit her lip as she felt pain hit her chest and stomach scaring Chris who was powerless to watch, how could she do anything when Marium was in the world of memories. Something Violetta dealt with back before the wars, just remembering the kind girl who Chris had lost due to the hatred of those who refused to listen to her warnings of the future only to endure their demise.
"NOOO!" Zerken screamed before glaring hatefully at Zerla who smirked showing him her sharp fangs. Grabbing his own sword tightly in his hand he charged at her before stopping suddenly, he coughed slightly as blood left his lips from the injury to his stomach.
"You were the love of my life and still are... even after you betrayed me, I saw you first" she hissed while smiling. "It's just a shame that I have to end you before I chase after her" Zerla immediately saw the portal close causing her to sneer.
"I was never yours" he coughed "it was my choice to send you to my brother but you vanished" he added venomously, her eyes darkened in anger from remembering that she had been denied after the suggestion and she knew why.
"Yes... I did not love him, I wanted you but he was the consolation prize" she scowled before remembering how she slit his throat causing the brother to choke to death the night before and hid his remains even as he tried to fight the urge to die, she could never kill Zerken for she loved him so much that no woman should ever have him, no one should even be near him especially the Queen regardless if summoned and yet... times had changed. "I will chase her down until the end of time, even if I have to use your blood that courses through that child's veins to find her" she added vilely only to hear a cough and a weak laugh.
"Just a shame you're coming along with me" Zerken said with a brittle smile before she gasped the moment she felt her stomach being stabbed, not wasting time he growled before pulling it out and pulled away causing him to grunt from the pain.
Zerla screamed as someone from behind sliced off her bony yellow wing which had markings on them. Looking in anger she used her long tail which had a point in the end and stabbed the man wearing green in the chest. The man was dead the moment he hit the ground to Zerken's dismay gripping his sword once more he waited until someone else stabbed through her ribs with their clawed hand armour before Zerken struck her in the heart.
"Burn in hell you demon" he scowled, his ears caught the sound of his second Ally's head rolling on the floor causing Marium to gasp in horror.
"Well... If you think that she'll escape my wrath then you are more foolish than I though" she said tartly before she smirks with glee causing his eyes to narrow.
"What... do you... mean?" Zerken forced himself straight despite being weak from losing a lot of blood.
"My love... my darling" he cringed from how she purred at him "once she gives birth she will die and then, when that child is born it shall be forced to live a life of loss. That child will never make it past the year their mother gave birth or even better for me will die before then. It will repeat" she says with glee as her black slitted eyes lit up in triumph from seeing his horrified expression.
"Every generation will repeat if there is some miracle that it survives, only for you my darling... for the boys I shall chase until they die at the same age as you if they refuse my dear. Isn't that poetic, a never-ending cycle of death in which I shall be the one who holds their lives in my hand and the best part... there is no cure" she started to cackle wildly until she gasped the moment the sword in her chest twisted and was pulled up slicing her throat, a part of her hand and head in two. Staring at her lifeless form Zerken's form shook violently even as he spat at her.
"Tr-Try and go after them when you're dead" Zerken said venomously before he spat blood "I will never let you go anywhere near them. Even if I have to never cross over and fight you as a spirit... you forget demon... you were once a part of my tribe... and... we do tend to be blood thirsty when provoked... it is just a shame..." Zerken grunted as he dropped to his knees and groaned in pain as he felt all his strength leave him.
"Just a shame... that you picked on the wrong person" Zerken collapsed and released his last breath.
"Open your eyes" a kind voice entered Marium's ears. It was then Marium opened her eyes to reveal grief and sadness.
"She never stood a chance" Marium said before looking at the sword.
"Was this... the sword Sapphia gave her daughter?" Chris asked in a fearful voice, to her dismay Marium nodded.
"I saw how the curse began, there was no way to avoid it and even if Myra's elder brother can make an antidote to tackle the bad genes... the curse would still linger" Marium said feeling defeated, she had wanted answers and now that she had them it proved to only solidly that this was more than just a silly curse that proved to be a nuisance.
"I can never understand jealousy or why people get envious" Marium sighed before picking up the sword.
"So you were never envious?"
"No not really, I was too focused on surviving being beaten half to death to care. Even when I was married I just felt sad that others would want to throw other women at him, why didn't they take my feelings to account" Marium replied while Chris blinked in surprise.
"Must have been a hard life"
"Yeah... I guess it was" Marium sighed heavily before looking at Chris.
"Um... Miss Marium? Who are you talking to?" Chris asked shyly making Marium blink in confusion
"I thought that it was you who was speaking to?" Marium tilted her head before looking left, a yelp left her lips as she jumped up for a few seconds.
"Miss Marium-Oh!" Chris looked at a ghostly figure of a man wearing silver armour, he had black hair that reached up to the nape of his neck, his eyes were silvery with flecks of yellow in them. On his left side a scabbard rested thanks to the fact that it was tied to his armoured waist.
"My apologies I did not mean to startle you" the male said before bowing his head politely.
"Oh no it was my fault, I should have been paying attention... you're-" Marium's eyes widened in surprise "You're Zerken! I just-"
"Saw the day Mu ended, there had been some survivors but only a few managed to leave. Hundreds of thousands had died thanks to the manipulation of a woman who sold her soul to become a harbinger of destruction" Zerken said bitterly, Chris swallowed as she gripped Marium's hand.
"Zerla" Marium confirmed before he nodded.
"Years later a group of survivors appeared here from an attack on Atlantis but we turned them away, we wanted no one else to endure or see what we went through. The darkness had continued to plague us even in death, for a long time I had tried to stop Zerla from being resurrected but... she had tricked them into believing that she would bring prosperity if they resurrect her and they did except... she destroyed their village. She then resumed her goal of killing our child's line but was stopped by the very person who she wanted to kill" Zerken said with a proud smile on his face, Marium raised a brow.
"Yumi a spirit medium, they said she wielded a holy sword and used it to seal a demoness away before being murdered" Marium explained while like Zerken she had a grim look on her face.
"Yes... even after time had passed, even in death the seal remained strong. For a brief time the heritage of old had been remembered thanks to Alumi who told Yumi about the Mu, curious she went to locate Mu but the sword located her just as Zerla had found her. When the area was at peace once again the sword returned to rest here. Never leaving the spot it had fallen until you found and picked it up" Zerken explained causing the girls to look at the sword.
"Is there no way to dispel the miasma here?" Marium asked "we only came here to find the survivors of Atlantis but if we can help here?" Zerken smiled sadly.
"Once the survivors entered this place they had lived with us until the calamity, some had also fled with our people on that day but some who survived and hid here had suffered from the miasma turning them to how you saw with that pixie" Zerken explained which left them disheartened "However..." the pair looked at him quickly.
"If you can dispel the miasma that demon created, you will be able to lead an army that will make the current foe completely overwhelmed" Zerken explained with a confident smirk.
"Will you be able to do it?" Chris asked while Marium winced, biting her lip she started at the sword mutely.
"It is known as the holy sword" Marium muttered softly as she examined it.
"Espira explained that it was an heirloom, her ancestor's sister had given it to her before passing it to our queen of old. The queen who led us into many years of peace" Zerken added causing Marium to nod as she remembered Ironheart telling her about how Alanine used the sword to influence land in order to send it to the sky.
"If I am correct, Alanine never did follow the survivors ten thousand years ago" Marium's words surprised Chris while Zerken blinked in confusion. Looking round the area traces of ancestral aura surrounded the area Marium was sure that her ancestors had lived here.
"How did the line flourish here?" Marium asked Zerken who was now more baffled.
"Well, they married the guardians or if the guardian was female then one of the tribe leaders would be chosen. Each heir was a girl because of our first queen and each one ruled fairly that no one complained at all" Zerken explained surprising all three females as Myra entered in spirit form startling him, Looking at Zerken with wide eyes she looked at Marium and pointed at him causing Marium to giggle while Zerken felt a little uncomfortable from what was going on that his cheeks went slightly pink.
"We're here on Mu Myra, this spirit here is Zerken. The last fallen king- our ancestor" Marium explained to a now stunned Myra who tilted her head.
"I see" Myra sighed looking more confused than before.
"I was also asking about the line, had there been more girls each generation?" Marium asked Zerken who nodded "I have a feeling Alanine had gone back in time which in turn caused Mu to exist to how it is today which resulted in Espira" Marium added to Myra who's eyebrows rose up more from surprise while Chris gasped in surprise, Zerken however was left speechless from this development.
"But wouldn't that alter and mess up time?" Myra asked while Zerken watched her with a worried look for she was not speaking. Had something happened?
"Not if it was meant to happen, it is why the line vanished for five thousand years. It was actually thriving about one thousand eight hundred years before the incident of Atlantis" Marium said before letting Myra touch the sword despite being ghostly.
"I have no experience with removing or negating things. However Myra" the girl looked up "Consider this your graduation test" Myra blinked in shock before her mouth parted in surprise.
"Each line grew stronger for a reason and that is to survive. You can do it, just believe in yourself after all you shooed away the spirit of the ring once did you not?" she smiled at Myra.
"I thought that was you" Myra sighed looking more shocked and startled by the information, Marium shook her head.
"I would but I do not truly have the same skill power as yours, as the girl from the surface said. Once every five thousand years an interceptor is born, they grow stronger from their predecessors who existed five thousand years before them. Now it is time to take up the role" Marium placed a hand on Myra's shoulder "Yugi and so many people are counting on you, think about those you care about. They say when your need to protect is strong miracles happen" Marium hugged Myra who was left nervous.
"Think about smashing that ugly sea snake in the face" Marium whispered in a now smirking Myra's ear.
"Pleasure..." Myra grinned in a way that left Chris feeling a sense of déjà vu.
Switching places Myra examined the sword carefully, despite the fact the yellowish blue stone looked dull she was sure that there was some power left that remained dormant for the time to be activated.
"Ceremony room please" Myra signed but the pair were left baffled causing Myra's eyes to narrow which left Zerken thinking about an angry Espira standing in front of him, just thinking about that made him sweat badly.
"Wh-What is it that you need?" he asked with a weak smile.
"Ceremony room idiot!" Marium yelled through Marium's lips causing Zerken to back away a few steps in fear. Chris was left startled at how angry Marium's voice was before turning to look at Zerken who led them quickly towards a room behind the broken fountain. There at the end of the room was a statue which was humanoid like.
"Jeez she acts like Espira when she's mad" Zerken said mentally now really unsettled from the fact the anger in Espira's family never did settle.
Giving him a look Myra did nothing except look at the sword. If this was a family heirloom blessed with light then surely if she channelled what she wanted the sword to do then would it activate? Would it listen and work with her?
Closing her eyes she lifted the sword's up allowing the blunt side to rest on her nose, slowly she exhaled while trying to feel the power of the sword. Waiting for it to feel her presence and react with her and activate. At first nothing seemed to be happening as Zerken and Chris watched with worried eyes.
"She can do it right?" Chris asked Zerken who was now more worried since the power of the queen- her knowledge, her legacy had been blocked numerous times before it could truly pass on leaving them in danger at times. To make it worse, if the sword did not react with her and see her as the successor then there would be no more hope left. Even as he looked at her, he could see his wife's features but at the same time see their strength and determination through not only her body language but her expression. Even if he had to help her find the diadem, he would because it was a lost treasure some would try so hard to abuse if ever located. This no doubt would be a tool that would protect her without mercy if provoked.
Watching Myra sit on her knees she remained closed eyes and didn't move the sword from her face. She continued to try and allow her mind to open in order for the sword to know she was willing for it to accept her, allowing it to know that she needed its help until something entered her mind.
"The sword doesn't just chose, you have to wield it because you want it to. A sword doesn't make you who you are. You make the sword great because it relies on you as a partner, like a limb it needs the rest of it's body to function" a soft kind voice entered her ears. Seeing an image of a woman wearing a white yukata holding the sword with both sleeves walking forward, she stared at the demoness with determined eyes before taking it out of it's scabbard and attacked.
Myra felt a pulse of energy enter her body which reminded her of an electric shock and yet it felt safe, it contained a feeling that assured her that she was not alone. That she would be able to help tackle the darkness.
"For every light containing good, there is always darkness that contains hope. Both sides will always remain neutral, soft light- soft darkness. Cruel light- cruel darkness. Corruption is everywhere even with our own, it's how it is dealt with… and now…" Myra even though she wasn't opening her eyes saw someone in front of her containing a bright smile, staring at the person who now appeared to be a woman that looked like Myra but older and gentle. The woman knelt down and placed her hand on Myra's shoulder while one hand was on the sword's handle.
"I pass the rites of our bloodline- our legacy to you Myra, please do what you know is right for the people" the woman said before becoming a ball of light that entered Myra slowly.
Without warning a circle formed of symbols surrounded Myra surprising Zerken and Chris who both gasped but took a step back, this was definitely new and left them confused on what was going on. However recognising the symbols Zerken's eyes lit up in happiness in knowing that Myra had indeed woken up. Standing up Myra's eyes shot open just as the sword's stone began to glow. She immediately sliced the air a few times causing a series of loud whooshing noises, after Myra did this she immediately did a three sixty slash while spinning with one leg on the ground. The leg other moved in a graceful acrobatic movement which then landed without getting cut by the sword. As she slashed the air light left the sword which was aimed in four corners of the room which then resulted in the miasma vanishing once it got into contact with the light. Inhuman dark screams filled their ears until the blood around them vanished completely, looking round in surprise Zerken felt his soul become much lighter than before the attack. A sad smile formed on his face knowing that he had been away from his wife for far too long and had been left with many regrets that he wished would never have happened. But alas things happened for a reason.
"You did it!" Chris cried with happiness as tears ran down her face, running up to a startled Myra who was now recovering the mute girl smiled softly and patted Chris' arm slightly.
"Let's look outside" Zerken said before yelping as two spirits appeared and punched him on the shoulder. "You know we're dead right? So what was that about?" Zerken glared at the green clothed male.
"That's for not telling us you got married in secret you moron! Honestly telling us the day we're all about to die! What a stupid Schmuck!" the man in green ranted while the one wearing red armour glared at him.
"Oh please save the queen she's carrying our child or something stupid like that, honestly! I know it is taboo to marry the queen but given that the guardian then was a female, she was going to have to marry one of us anyways moron!" the man in red scowled while Myra smirked at how Zerken was being chewed out by the two.
"Ugh… and you wonder why I never told you two. Such big mouths…" Zerken pushed his black hair from his face. "Idiot leaders this is Chris"
"Yo!" the one in green greeted while the one in red raised a brow at them. "Wait who is this girl?" the one in green asked bluntly causing Zerken to grumble slightly.
"I was getting to that Nija, honestly and you say I'm impulsive?" Zerken muttered.
"Wanna start again?" Nija challenged as he rounded at Zerken who gave him a warning look.
"Watch it both of you" the one in red warned stopping Nija from going closer.
"As I was about to say, this is Myra she's my descendent" Zerken explained before hearing a yelp from Nija while the one in red raised a brow.
"Looks like Espira, definitely a family trait" the one in red said bluntly.
"Good thing, I wouldn't want a female you running about-hey!" Nija cried as Zerken slapped the back of his head, both soon heard a cough from Chris causing the spirits to look at Myra who was narrowing her eyes darkly scaring the three stiff.
"I take it back… she has your glare as well… worst of all it's mixed with Espira's" Nija said weakly while the one in red nodded mutely as fear entered him.
"Yeah…" Zerken muttered before snapping out of it "Let's go outside, I hear noises" Zerken said now curious about outside as they started to hear more noise the moment they approached outside, the spirits and Chris gasped in surprise while Myra stared calmly as they saw spirits cheering. Some duel spirits had also appeared happy and celebrating their freedom from the miasma causing the group to smile.
"You did it" Zerken said softly before looking at Myra who sensed that he was looking at her. "Well done" nodding Myra placed the hilt of the blade under her chin confusing him.
"Espira said she is waiting for you, she knows you've been worried about her and that she's sorry for doing that to you. She was worried about you and you never left her mind since the moment you shoved her into that portal" she signed with a smirk, the spirit trio stared with minds that looked that they had blown.
"Did anyone know what she did?" Nija said causing Myra to twitch. Spying Rosalina who handed her a paper and pen Myra smirked before grabbing the sword and imagining a scabbard to put it in, once a dark blue scabbard appeared she placed the sword inside and strapped it to her waist.
"I will take great pleasure in slicing your soul to ribbons for being an ass to me!" Myra wrote before showing it to a now pale spirit trio, the one in red gulped and then glared at Nija who chuckled weakly.
"D-Don't take it personally, I was joking" he chuckled weakly before Myra shook her head with a dark glare.
"What she said before was that Espira is waiting for you Zerken" Rosaline explained before repeating what Myra had said. Blinking the spirits went silent until Zerken felt a sad but happy smile form on his face while he looked down.
"I… I see, I'll look forward to seeing her soon" Zerken said before remembering something. "Ah! I almost forgot, follow me Myra" Zerken gestured for Myra to follow, looking at Chris Myra gave her an assuring smile before following Zerken. After going up a few stairs and rooms Zerken paused at a broken white door, slowly he turned to smile at Myra.
"This was Espira's room, her diadem is here" Zerken said before Myra tried to push the door away using her powers. There the room looked slightly dusty and yet untouched to their surprise. Crossing the room Zerken spotted the large wardrobe.
"Open this and there's a small box, it will open at your touch" he said softly, doing as she was told Myra opened the large wardrobe to see some items that Espira kept, some were precious items while some were clothes that hid them. Eying a yellow box that had decorative symbols Myra took it and began to open the box via the latch, observing the opened box she saw a thin crown that had various coloured stones around it while the main front part had a large blue stone.
"She loved this crown, it had been her mother's and her mother's before her" Zerken said before tracing the groves of the crown with a finger despite being a spirit. "You can use this to protect yourself, but watch out. It can explode if you want it to however it will reform back to it's original state which is handy when you need it" Zerken added to a now shocked Myra.
"Won't people notice I'm wearing a crown?" she wrote causing him to grin.
"It blends, try it on" he laughed while encouraging her to try it, seeing this caused her to eye him oddly but did it anyways. Placing it on the diadem on her head the object itself felt light but just right to her surprise. Blinking in confusion she looked at him to see his eyes almost showing that he was overwhelmed by what he was seeing, instead of doing anything he smiled while releasing a shaky breath.
"You… you look like her when she was younger, despite being made to be queen at a young age… she did well. She kept us all grounded when we all started arguing over the assassination of the royal family members, only she had survived because of the late queen who had helped her hide. Some had claimed it shameful but Espira… she stood her ground not just for her honour but to prove them wrong" Zerken looked away weakly as his eyes grew sad "When she was born she was given no name…" Myra blinked in confusion.
"They made it custom for the heir to have no name, only the husband shall be the one to name the queen. At one point there had been a male heir which resulted in chaos before he stopped it, Espira's father she took almost exactly after him. Brave, kind and stubborn. Those where one of the things that drew me to her, now she's been dead because of someone who was obsessed with me… I feel ashamed to face her and yet…" he stood his ground and exhaled before showing her a weak smile "I'm prepared to be beaten once I meet her for pushing her even if it was to save her life, never I've learned push anyone that's like Espira" Zerken said to himself looking like he was about to be entering inside a ring of marksman who were prepared to fire at him at anytime to her amusement.
"I know that I cannot cure nor do I know how to cure this curse, but there is always some sort of way which could reverse or stunt the curse… maybe freezing could help?" Myra blinked at his suggestion.
"Never aging but in the end I'll be losing more people as a result" Myra wrote feeling sad about who would be leaving her behind as a result, Zerken sighed softly before placing a hand on her arm.
"I would rather you live than suffer knowing that one part of the conditions ended you. Even if we end Zerla once and for all the curse would most likely stay. The curse cannot be altered by time because it had to happen so that means repairing something" He suggested before looking at the sky.
"I guess it's time to fight this Leviathan that has everyone upset, if it has been stealing souls then there is a way to release the souls. The people need to break free of their own problems, that's what has left them in darkness" Zerken commented causing her to give him a look, he blinked before looking away shyly.
"I do hear things you know, now let's go. You have the sword so that will also show your lineage which will make them obey without question, let's go" Zerken said before they left.
"Ready?" Myra wrote once she approached Chris who was happy about seeing the familiar spirits who were chatting to her.
"Yes! Let's do it!" Chris said with a wide grin before nodding eagerly, smiling Myra smiled before the sword glowed. Her eyes went wide before a wide grin formed on her face that left Chris startled, that look didn't stand well with Chris…
"Seriosuly?! I turn my back for goodness how long and you end up in a rut? What were you doing when I was away?" Marium asked while she floated with Myra. Yami, Yugi, the Leviathan and Darts looked up to see two floating females. Dart's gasped before growling angrily despite being fused to the leviathan he shook with rage.
"Surprise!" Marium grinned while Myra held the sword. "How did you like our light show with the spirits?"
"That was you?" Yami asked feeling relieved and happy to know she was okay, Myra seeing Yugi smiled softly while he grinned knowing that they were now able to meet up once again.
"Well it was more of Myra, she freed the spirits from the miasma caused by a troublesome demon. Oh and Darts… open wide!" Marium chuckled before Myra flew quickly towards the Leviathan without warning she severed Darts from the creature's head causing both entities to scream in pain. Myra narrowed her eyes before light shone around her causing Timaeus, Critias Hermos to appear in knight form.
"The light, that power… is it?" Hermos paused when he saw Myra holding the blade.
"The heir… Marina's heir has appeared!" Timaeus said now feeling relief and joy in knowing that his lady's child had survived. Myra smiled and nodded at them before charging at the Leviathan, light surrounded the knights before going into Myra who summoned an additional multi coloured sword. Not wasting time she spin slashed the Leviathan resulting in to multiple slices marks to appear on it's body causing light to appear from the slices she had made before landing gracefully on her feet.
"Whoa…" Yami was left speechless.
"I didn't think she could do that" Yugi commented in awe.
"Neither did I" Yami and Yugi watched as she then moved in an angle and jumped before moving her arms as she span slicing the Leviathan who screamed until she sliced it's head off causing it's head to land on the floor with at thump. Startled everyone remained silent until Myra stared at Darts, placing the swords in an X position she merged both swords together before swiping causing a line of light to hit Darts. Screaming the darkness was shoved out of his body before he went onto his knees and then landed on the floor passed out.
"For every light containing good, there is always darkness that contains hope. Both sides will always remain neutral, soft light- soft darkness. Cruel light- cruel darkness. Corruption is everywhere even with our own, it's how it is dealt with…" Myra stared at Darts with her sword still glowing by her side.
"Where there is darkness there is light, both are neutral and can either be kind or cruel. Darts didn't have a choice in this so now… it's up to him on what he wants" Myra showed them a note she had given them after writing it with telekinesis. Surprised the boys watched while the knights chuckled amongst themselves knowing that this was going to be an interesting set of events.
Darts soon regained consciousness before sitting up shakily, looking at his eyes Myra spotted two yellow eyes and no green in any of them.
"Wha… where am I?" Darts murmured weakly as he placed a hand to his face, soon three lights appeared beside him revealing Chris, Sky and Ironheart.
"Chris? Father it's you?" Darts looked at them in shock.
"Father you're okay!" Chris cried as tears ran down her face. "I'm so glad you are safe and back with us once more" Chris hugged her father tightly startling Darts before a smile formed on his face.
"Thank you Pharaoh" Ironheart smiled before looking at the girls "Myra, you and Marium have no doubt made Marina proud by what you've done" Ironheart while Marium rolled her eyes playfully.
"I did nothing, Myra should be the one- hmm no?" Marium blinked as Myra glared at her.
"Not on your life buddy! You helped bring us to Mu" Myra signed which made Marium nod absentmindedly.
"Sure sure, let's say it was a team effort them" Marium waved it off while Darts watched the pair.
"You know Marina?" Darts asked before the group looked at him.
"Myra and Marium are her descendants father, isn't that great?" Chris said with joy startling Darts who then smiled softly despite his eyes showing sadness.
"I caused her a lot of pain… not just her but all our friends… Daniel, Silver too" Darts said with a sad guilty look that confused Yami and Yugi.
"Silver's amnesia was only a side effect from the battle" Ironheart explained but Darts shook his head.
"I… in the battle I had tried to influence his mind but it almost broke him instead, his memories were fragmented because of me" Darts said.
"What a bloody idiot! That was playing dirty!" Critias blinked as a silver haired teen appeared with his hands on his while wearing a grey shirt and shorts, his shoes were plain grey as well and like his eyes they were the colour of his name. Darts winced but smiled weakly at the male who appeared.
"S-Sorry Silver" Darts stuttered shakily before hearing Silver sigh heavily.
"We're just glad you're back to normal" Silver admitted before frowning "in truth we were also worried about Alanine vanishing as well until Violetta told us what happened once Marium found out the truth, it hurts us a lot to know that she left without telling us. But she knew what she was doing and did it well" Silver explained despite the fact that he and the knights looked sad.
"Now it's time for you to come with us, it's time you know" Silver said with a smile that caused Darts to smile sheepishly.
"Yeah… thanks Silver, I know that I have a lot to make up for" Darts said while hugging Chris who was still crying softly.
"Pharaoh, Marium and Myra we are forever in your debt, thank you so much for what you have done for all of us" Ironheart said before pausing, soon Chris and Darts blinked as Myra approached Timaeus who was also baffled by what she was up to. Placing her right hand up she gestured for him to go down to which he did, startled Timaeus felt his injured eye grow warm until before he knew it- it started to become itchy causing him to open it. He gasped in surprise before showing them his newly healed eye.
"Your eye! It's healed!" Hermos said with a relieved smile as he saw Timaeus smile but held his emotions together, slowly he felt her pulling on his cloak so he turned to look at her. His eyes widened as she held the scabbard containing the sword in her hands.
"Take it, I want you to watch over it for me. It's better that someone who is close to Marina should take care of it and I trust that you'll do right by it" Myra wrote before handing the note and the sword to a now emotional Timaeus who stared at the sword his lady had once wielded. Yami, Yugi, Ironheart and Darts were left stunned while Marium smiled feeling proud of Myra's decision. Chris as she saw this felt more happy tears leave her eyes, she was sure that it bothered Myra to give it away but knew it was safer with those who knew of it's power. Plus Marina was no longer in the land of the living, she had moved on content and having this memento- this last thing of hers would no doubt bring joy and give something for Timaeus to hold on to. To remember her by.
"Ar-are you sure?!" Critias asked in alarm before Timaeus could speak "This is a big responsibility, what if you need it again?" Myra smiled at the concern before writing once more.
"Then it would come would it not? But for now, I would rather it is in safer hands than in my hands. For now it's not needed and there's no point leaving it where people could abuse it's power. I trust you'll take care of it Timaeus?" Myra asked before a speechless Timaeus nodded sharply.
"Y-Yes my lady! Thank you so much I will protect this always" Timaeus bowed before getting up. Smiling she took his hand and gripped it only to blink as he pulled her into a hug after kneeling down. Feeling how happy he was gave Myra more joy in knowing that she had made the right choice, leaving it back on Mu. It would only leave it in harms way and it would be unfair to just dump it back where the massacre occurred and think it would be okay. Yumi she was sure had allowed it to return because she knew that it would be needed once more and kept it away from dangerous people. This way Myra was sure it was going to be taken care of.
"We are forever in your debt, if you should ever need anything let us know" Timaeus said before they saw all the mini balls lights flicker before vanishing, some who had died were now crossing over leaving them all in awe.
"We have a lot of catching up to do father" Chris said with a giggle while her father smiled at them.
Waving Myra walked towards Yugi before seeing Marium become see-through and entered her pendent.
"That was a very kind thing do to, not many people would part with such a valuable item due to it's power" Marium commented.
"I'm not like them, power can be corrupt if people let it" Myra commented before giving Yugi a hug "Ready to go?" Myra asked causing him to smile more.
"You bet, let's go find the others" Yugi said while the pair bid everyone farewell, soon the pair left through the portal leaving happy spirits behind.
"Man… I can't believe she gave you the sword" Silver muttered before huffing "meh… Marina would be intrigued, maybe a little surprised and yet… something tells me that she'll be irritated that people keep passing it around like it had some sort of bad smell on it" Silver muttered causing everyone to laugh at his comment which in turn made him grin as well.
