A/N: Well now, it's been quite some time hasn't it? When we last left off I killed off Po and brought the blob thing back to life...twice. No I'm not crazy, although I am sorry it took me this long to get this chapter out. It wasn't even lack of time so much this time as it was a MAJOR case of writer's block. I just had no idea how to approach this chapter. Luckily, inspiration hit me a few days ago and I got to work. I hope you enjoy, it's time for some downtime. I own nothing except the story.
_
It didn't take long for the team to escape Kathori's atmosphere; hiding the robot in the canyon had been quite effective as it had been left undetected by the Mantadons. Unfortunately, reaching the robot in the first place had taken longer than they'd hoped. "How much of a headstart did that thing get Gibson?" Chiro asked grimly as he stared at the viewscreen.
"At least a couple of hours..." Gibson replied, "But even at full speed, the Super Robot simply doesn't have what it takes to catch the malevolent craft."
"Can you figure out where it's headed?"
"It will take some time to calculate its trajectory, but I believe I will be able to pinpoint its destination." Gibson began working on the viewscreen computer, "I'll inform you as soon as I've completed my calculations."
"Alright then." Chiro turned and sat in his designated seat, squeezing the bridge of his nose. "Can't believe that thing's still alive..." he grumbled to himself.
"You look exhausted Chiro." Nova said in concern, "Are you feeling ok?"
"Huh?" Chiro looked up before waving a hand dismissively, "Don't worry about it, I'm alright," he said with a weak smile. "It's just...I can't believe we couldn't save Po...if only I'd moved faster, I might've been able to stop that...thing from killing him."
"You can't blame yourself Chiro, there was nothing you could've done, there's nothing any of us could've done." Jinmay leaned into the sphere compartment and planted a light kiss on Chiro's forehead, "Come on Chiro, we're gonna need you if we're gonna stop that thing."
Chiro smiled a little and took Jinmay's hand in thanks before standing back up. "I'll be in my quarters...I'm gonna try and contact Antauri again, he should know what's going on." the Hyperforce leader gave Jinmay's hand a gentle squeeze before he turned and headed towards his tube, where he was whisked off into the depths of the robot.
"Poor kid," Sprx sighed, "I know how he feels."
"This bites!" Jinmay growled, her fists clenched at her sides, "Tikudo and Kikaido took that thing out twice! It should already be destroyed! Chiro shouldn't have to be dealing with this!"
"I'm sure he'll feel better after talking to Antauri, he always knows just what to say." Otto said reassuringly, "Come on, let's get you recharged so we can be ready for next time!"
Jinmay started to follow the green monkey down to the lab, when she suddenly stopped with a determined expression on her face, "I'll get a recharge later Otto...first, I have something I need to do."
Back in Chiro's quarters, the young leader of the Hyperforce had taken a meditative pose as he focused his Power Primate in order to contact his second-in-command. "Antauri...are you there?"
Back on Shuggazoom, Antauri had sensed Chiro's call during a meeting with their allies. "Chiro is attempting to contact me." Antauri lowered his head, "I sense sadness, and uncertainty in his heart...he needs me."
"Then I guess now's as good a time as any to test that theory of yours." Kyros got up from the table as well as his team of frogs, "Our robot is ready to go, we'll make sure nothing happens to the city! Amphiboids, move out!"
The frogs rushed out of the Robo Ape ship and were soon ready for battle in their Super Robot. "Go to your pupil Antauri, we will make sure you are not interrupted again." Master Offay bowed slightly.
Antauri nodded and went to an empty room inside the ship, and began focusing on the Power Primate's energy. "I am here Chiro."
Once again, the two wielders of the Power Primate found themselves in a green room together, "It worked, I just hope this time we don't get interrupted."
"We shouldn't, the Amphiboids are now patrolling the city in case Skeleton King tries to attack." Antauri crossed his legs and began to float. "I sense a great turmoil within you Chiro, tell me, what's happened?"
The young boy's head drooped, his bangs hanging in front of his face as he shook his head despondently. "We chased that monster all the way to Kathori, it somehow created even more powerful Mantadons...we fought, we won...but..."
"But what?"
Chiro exhaled shakily before answering. "Po's dead Antauri! He's dead and it's all my fault!" his fists clenched in anger, "That disgusting whatever it is took over his body and...and-and poisoned him from the inside out! When we defeated the monster, Po was released...and I watched him slowly die Antauri. There was nothing Gibson or anyone else could do...I just...stood there...totally helpless."
"I see." Antauri took a needless breath before continuing, if he were perfectly honest with himself, the silver monkey was surprised that he hadn't needed to have this conversation with the young boy a long time ago. "Unfortunately, Chiro, death is a harsh reality that we all must be willing to accept when the time comes."
"I know Antauri...it's just..." Chiro huffed, "If I'd been able to destroy that monster, Po would still be alive...this is the first time I've really failed to save someone..."
"One out of one die, Chiro. There are no exceptions to that rule." Antauri said, trying to send feelings of comfort into his commander's soul as he spoke, "Even those who attempt to disobey that universal law through the usage of dark magic will not be able to prevent death from taking hold of them; eventually, one way or another, their time will come...for Po, his time was then, and you must be willing to accept that."
"It's hard..." Chiro's voice shook. "I've seen people die before, but...they always seemed to...you know, deserve it!" the boy shook his head, "Po didn't deserve to die, not like that anyway."
Antauri closed his eyes and sighed. "I can't make this go away Chiro, it's up to you to overcome this...just know that I and the rest of the monkey team will be here for you when you need us...now, was there anything else you needed to speak to me about?"
Chiro slowly shook his head, "No...that was it." the Hyperforce leader raised his head and scowled deeply, "All I can tell you is that I won't stop until that thing is dead, it'll pay for killing Po, that I promise you."
"Focusing on the mission is a good approach, but remember what I warned you about when we faced off against Mandarin when he was calling himself the Supreme Destructor...whatever you are up against is very powerful, do not let this become a matter of mere retribution and vengeance. That path leads to nothing but more anger and hatred. Never forget, our mission is to protect Shuggazoom City and bring evil to justice, we do not go about allowing our anger to dictate our motives."
Chiro took a deep breath and nodded at his second-in-command and mentor. "Thanks Antauri. I needed this talk."
Antauri nodded back, "Remember Chiro, embrace the Power Primate, and let its goodness steer you towards the right path." With that, the ghostly image of the silver monkey faded away, and Antauri soon found himself back in his robotic body. Taking a glance outside, Antauri saw the Amphiboid robot going up against a giant Formless with what appeared to be cannons for arms. "My theory was correct, Skeleton King is attempting to keep me from counseling Chiro."
The battle turned in the Amphiboids' favor when the Nebutron 9 stomped over and punched its fist through the Formless's chest, causing it to screech in agony before melting into a motionless mess. "Looks like that silver chimp was right after all." Johnny Sunspot said as he casually leaned back in his chair.
"I sure hope the monkey team is ok out there, if Skeleton King is trying this hard to keep us from contacting them in any way, he must have a plan." Aurora said with a worried frown.
The two robots powered down and their drivers headed over to the Robo Ape ship for a debriefing. While they had successfully repelled the attack Skeleton King sent their way, the fact remained that Antauri's theory was correct. Skeleton King was trying to cut off all communication with the Hyperforce, and that disturbed the new teammates greatly.
Meanwhile, Chiro was just coming out of his meditative trance and regaining his senses. With a weary sigh, Chiro hunched over and held his head in his hands, still feeling the guilt of his mistake weighing heavily on his shoulders. He knew Antauri was right, Antauri was rarely ever wrong. It was up to him to realize that death was just a natural part of life, and apparently it was Po's time...still, the young boy couldn't help but feel that he'd failed somehow. "I...I just..." he sighed again with a hitch in his voice, "What am I supposed to do?" He slowly dragged his legs so they were hanging over the side of the bed, and he made a move to get up. It was then that he noticed he wasn't alone. "Jinmay?"
"Chiro." The robot girl wasn't in her Hyperforce uniform, instead she was wearing an outfit that Chiro had never seen her wear before. It appeared to just be a white tank-top with a red heart in the middle of her chest, and rather than a skirt or dress like she'd always worn, she was wearing red pants with a white stripe down the side of each pant leg. She was also barefoot.
For Chiro, he was rather stunned by her appearance, in both meanings of the word. He hadn't even been aware she'd entered his room, and the outfit she was wearing had caught him off-guard. Though the colors she was wearing were very similar to her uniform, they were much more relaxed in a way. But what really caught the boy's attention wasn't even her clothes, but rather, her hair wasn't in their usual side ponytails...it was flowing down her shoulders. "How'd you get in here?"
"Otto let me in." Jinmay answered softly as she took a step towards him, "I couldn't just leave you alone when I knew you were hurting..." when Chiro didn't react beyond a slight tensing of his shoulders, she walked over and climbed onto Chiro's bed so she was kneeling next to him, the mattress squeaking as she crawled over to him. Then she gently took hold of him, wrapping her arms around the boy's rigid torso. "Power down Chiro."
Chiro tilted his head slightly to get a look at his girlfriend, her eyes were closed as she held him. "W-What?"
"Power down." Jinmay repeated in a comforting whisper.
It was then that Chiro realized that he had been in Hyper mode ever since they had originally set out to attempt to keep Skeleton King from ever being resurrected, and although he'd never realized it before, being powered up eventually began to take a toll on his body. He also realized just how exhausted he'd become, sleep came in small half hour intervals over the past couple of days, and he hadn't gotten many opportunities to have one of those. Taking a deep inhale and exhale, Chiro finally pressed his hand to his chest where his communicator was, and with a flash of light, Chiro was back in his normal human form.
Jinmay smiled when she felt her boyfriend's body relax in her embrace, and gave him a small squeeze as he placed his hand over her own. "There, much better." she whispered, and she felt him start to heave a bit. "It's ok Chiro, I'm here for you, we all are." she let him go a moment as he began to turn around so he could face her, and she could see that her leader was trying desperately to keep his emotions in check, although she could clearly see a shimmering sheen in his brilliant blue eyes. She then opened her arms, inviting him in for another embrace, and after a moment's hesitation, he accepted the embrace and clung to her like a lifeline, and soon tears began to flow from his eyes as he quietly sobbed over her shoulder. "Shhhh...shh, it's ok. It's ok."
As much as Chiro wanted to stop crying, he found that he just couldn't seem to stop the flowing of his tears. Jinmay's gentle prodding and comfort had lowered the emotional barriers he realized he'd been subconsciously trying to put around his heart, and once they were down, it was like opening up the floodgates, as he sobbed over his girlfriend's shoulder. Somewhere in the back of his mind, there was a voice screaming at him to stop, because leaders were supposed to be strong at all times so they could be someone their team could look up to...but that voice went away when another sound reached his ears.
"When your day is long
And the night, the night is yours alone
When you're sure you've had enough
Of this life, well hang on."
Jinmay...was singing. Chiro had never heard Jinmay sing before, in fact he was never aware that she even knew how to sing. Oh sure, he'd heard her hum a happy little tune to herself when she was leaving the Super Robot for the first time after their first date was over, but this was something completely different.
"Don't let yourself go
'Cause everybody cries
And everybody hurts sometimes."
As Jinmay continued to sing her tune softly in his ear and slowly rocked him from side to side in her hug, he sensed a feeling of peace wash over his troubled heart. He couldn't remember ever getting this sort of comfort in his life, and although he didn't want to admit it to even himself, he found himself wanting more of it. Never had he felt so relaxed, so at peace...so safe. In this quiet moment, he no longer felt like Chiro, the leader of the Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce. Instead, he felt like Chiro, a young boy with a heart that needed just as much tender loving care as the next person, and for the first time in his life - to his knowledge at least - he was receiving it.
"If you think you've had too much
Of this life, well hang on
Everybody hurts
Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts
Don't throw your hand, oh no."
Chiro felt his sobs dissipating, the urge to cry fading as he somehow felt his heart healing itself in a way. He found himself able to breathe steadily, his heart no longer felt tight in his chest. His troubled mind had relinquished its grip on his soul for the moment, and he felt truly at peace in Jinmay's loving embrace.
"Well, everybody hurts sometimes
Everybody cries
Everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes
So hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts."
Jinmay's song came to an end, and Chiro pulled back a bit to look his girlfriend in the eyes. What he saw caused his breath to catch in his throat a little bit, in a good way. He could just see the love emanating from her shimmering spring green eyes, and that alone made his heart swell. He gently caressed the side of her face, and he smiled when she closed her eyes and leaned into his hand, reaching up to hold it there. "Thank you Jinmay...I had no idea how much I needed that."
Jinmay opened her eyes and beamed at him lovingly, "You're welcome." she leaned forward and captured his lips in a chaste kiss before pulling back, smiling inwardly when she saw the gentle shade of pink now gracing his cheeks. "I just want you to know Chiro, you don't have to try and act like you're invincible for us. We all need someone to go to when we're feeling sad, and that applies to the leader of the Hyperforce too. Everybody hurts sometimes, and sometimes you just need a good cry to help get it out."
Chiro gave a watery chuckle, new tears forming in his eyes, this time for an entirely different reason. "I've never felt anything like that before...I felt so...at peace."
Jinmay smiled gently at him before running her fingers through his hair, "I'm just glad I could help. And remember, I'll always be here for you, and so will the rest of the team. You're not alone Chiro, what is it that Antauri and the others always say?"
"No monkey team member is ever alone."
"Right. That goes for the non-monkey members of the team too. If you ever need something like this again, don't be scared to tell us. There's no shame at all in showing your emotions, especially when it's just us."
Chiro chuckled a little, "Well, just for the record, I don't think I'd wanna cuddle up with Sprx to try and feel better, something about that just seems weird."
Jinmay laughed, and that got him to laugh as well. "Ok, you have a point. You can come to me when you need something like this." she giggled, "Although I'm sure the others would find a way to help in their own way."
"Yeah." Chiro sighed again, but this one was tinged with relief rather than sadness. Then he quirked an eyebrow and smirked a bit, "Say, I have a question, I never knew you could sing, where'd that come from?"
The robot girl blushed a bit and brushed her hair behind her ear with her hand, looking down at the bed with a bashful smile on her face, "Oh, that...heh..." she looked at him again, "Well...I've always been able to sing, what few memories I have about my existence before meeting you includes singing." Jinmay paused a moment to lay down on Chiro's bed with her hands behind her head, with Chiro joining her a moment later, "I remember hearing that song while walking past an electronics store. There was a small radio playing and that was the song that was playing. You and the monkey team had already left Shuggazoom to go after the worm a few weeks earlier, and I was starting to feel a little...lonely."
Chiro frowned a bit at that and shifted closer, his smile returning when Jinmay closed her eyes a moment and smiled at his proximity. "Go on." he prodded gently.
"I just felt like I was alone; you and the monkey team were gone, and I didn't know many people on Shuggazoom besides you guys. That song gave me some comfort, it reminded me of what you and the team always said: 'no monkey team member is ever alone,' and the day you left, you made me an honorary member of the team, so I figured, 'hey, it must apply to me too, right?' It became special to me, and I figured that if it could help me in my time of need, it would help you in yours."
"Well it did." he stroked her hair, his heart beating a bit faster as he enjoyed the silky softness in-between his fingers. That was one of Jinmay's great mysteries: how she could have human hair that grew as naturally as any human's did despite being fully robotic. He would've been more curious if he hadn't been more focused on just enjoying the sensation of her soft hair. "But if you don't mind my saying so, the person singing the song had a lot to do with it too."
Jinmay blushed, "No. I don't mind at all." she turned her head to the side so she could see him, "So...do you feel better now?"
Chiro's smile faded a bit, but it didn't vanish altogether. "Yeah, a little." he shrugged, "I mean, I still feel terrible about what happened, but I don't feel overwhelmed anymore...I feel like I can move on."
The robot girl nodded, "I'm glad." Just then, the leader of the Hyperforce gave a loud yawn, and he blushed with embarrassment when he was finished, which prompted Jinmay to giggle at his expression, "You're tired."
"Yeah." Chiro's eyes began to droop against his will, "I guess I finally ran out of gas."
"Then there's only one thing to do." Turning onto her side, Jinmay wrapped her arms around Chiro's torso and laid her head onto his chest, her eyes closed with a content smile on her face.
"J-Jinmay..." Chiro blushed red.
"Goodnight Chiro."
Chiro's mind froze for a moment, he definitely wasn't prepared for this situation. But after the initial shock faded, he felt himself relaxing to the point where he could barely keep his eyes open. Jinmay's calming presence was beginning to take him over like a narcotic, and he had just enough presence of mind to wrap his arms around her before he too fell asleep, a content smile on his face as he cuddled closer to his robotic girlfriend. "Goodnight Jinmay."
Mere minutes later, Otto came in the room looking for Jinmay, "Hey Jinmay, you ready for that recharge?" When he got no answer, Otto blinked a couple of times and noticed that the couple had actually fallen asleep on Chiro's bed. "Aww, that's so cute!" the green monkey zipped off for a moment and returned with a camera, and he snapped a photo of the heartwarming moment. "This one's a keeper for the scrapbook for sure!"
Back on the Bridge, Gibson had completed his calculations and had set the Super Robot on the proper course in hopes that it wouldn't take too long to find the evil bone ship. "I've plotted our course. Activating hyper boost engines...now!" Gibson pressed a button on the console, and the robot blasted ahead at full speed, its engines pushed to the max. "According to my calculations, that dark vessel will enter an uncharted sector of space in a matter of hours, and we will reach that same destination hours after it will...the only question is...how much damage will that creature be able to do in just a matter of hours?"
"If what happened on Kathori is any indication, it's gonna be able to do a lot of damage before we get there." Nova replied grimly, "Isn't there anything we can do to increase our speed?"
"Not with our current resources." Gibson shook his head and shrugged his shoulders helplessly, "I would need a great deal of time and a great deal of equipment I currently don't have access to..." he scratched his chin a bit, "Perhaps I can recalibrate the Neutron Generator and increase how much of its energy is given to the engines, but I fear by doing so we may overheat the hyper boost engines and wind up stranded out here until Otto and I could repair them...if we could repair them."
Nova sighed and hung her head for a moment before looking back up at the scientist with a determined expression. "If we're gonna stop that thing, we gotta be willing to take calculated risks. How much do you think you can increase our speed without drifting too far into the danger zone?"
"Enough to shave about an hour off our estimated travel time, but I'll need Otto's help."
"Do it." Nova nodded, "I'll send Otto to help you as soon as he gets back." Gibson nodded at the yellow primate and walked off towards the spherical compartment where the Neutron Generator was kept. Nova then turned to Sprx and Capt. Shuggazoom, "There's not much you two can do right now, so why don't you go and get some rest? I'll contact you if I need you."
"Sounds like a plan to me, I could use a touch of shuteye after all this excitement." Capt. Shuggazoom yawned loudly and stretched before walking towards the tubes, where he was then whisked away into the depths of the robot where the team had set up guest quarters for the elderly man.
Sprx on the other hand hadn't moved from where he was standing, choosing instead to look intently at his current commander as she worked. When Nova noticed Sprx had yet to leave, she stared him down for a moment before raising an eyebrow at him, "Is there something I can do for you Sprx?"
"Not really." Sprx replied with a hesitant shrug, "Just uh...wanted to see how you were holding up. I know Chiro's under a lotta stress, but so have you, and I guess I'm uh...a little worried."
Nova smirked a bit before turning back to the console, "I'm ok, thanks for asking though, I do appreciate it." she turned her head to look at him again, "How 'bout you? You feeling ok? I know you got queasy when Nikita started giving birth."
Sprx scowled and crossed his arms, "It wasn't that bad."
Nova laughed, "Oh please, Otto told me you fainted when you realized she was in labor!"
"I did not!"
Nova placed her hands on her hips and smirked, "Do you really wanna go there Sprx? Accusing Otto of being a liar isn't gonna get you anywhere, the guy's painfully honest, even to a fault sometimes."
"Never said Otto was a liar, but he's also not the most observant guy in the world either right?" Sprx smirked a bit, "See, what he thought was me passing out was actually me pulling off an ancient combat strategy intended to get the Mantadons off our tails."
"So you're saying you were playing possum."
Sprx shrugged, "Doesn't sound as cool, but pretty much, yeah."
Nova scratched her chin and nodded slowly, "I see...so...why did Otto say that you looked greener than he does, was that also part of your ingenious plan?"
The pilot scowled deeper this time, "Alright, ya know what? I'm gonna have to have a little talk with him!"
"Little talk with who?" The two monkeys turned to see Otto walking over to them with a wide grin on his face and a camera in hand. "You guys wanna see what might be the cutest thing you've ever seen?"
"I'll pass, first we gotta have a little chat you loud-"
"Sure Otto, lemme see!"
Sprx growled with frustration when Nova cut him off, but curiosity got the better of him and he went over to the viewscreen where Otto was hooking up his camera. When the image in question appeared, the red monkey's anger quickly turned into amusement, "Well now, looks like the kid's finally relaxing after all." he smirked.
"That really is sweet though. I'm glad Chiro's finally getting some rest, looks like Jinmay managed to get him to calm down and rest." Nova smiled, "Sometimes ya need a little company to help yourself relax."
"They look so cozy don't they?" Otto gushed, "Maybe the three of us should try it!"
Sprx and Nova blushed at the mechanic's suggestion, "Uh, we'll test that out another time Otto." Nova said as she looked away to hide her flushing cheeks, "Right now, you gotta get to the Neutron Generator, Gibson's down there waiting for you so you two can make some adjustments to increase our speed."
At the thought of doing some upgrades, Otto's eyes lit up like stars. "Sweeeet! I'll seeya later!" the green monkey scampered off to find Gibson, leaving the red and yellow primates by themselves once more.
"It uh...does seem kinda nice." Sprx chuckled as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yeah, kinda does." Nova smiled shyly, "Maybe later we can test it out for ourselves."
"You serious?" Sprx said in shock, "I mean, I don't wanna...ruin what we already have or anything, you're really ok with that?"
Nova shrugged, "Sure, I guess..." she walked up to Sprx and stared into his eyes, "I do wanna build up this relationship Sprx, so don't be scared..." she took hold of his hand, "But I appreciate you taking it slow with me so I can have time to adjust."
Sprx gave her hand a gentle squeeze, "You're more than worth it to me Nova. If it means making this thing between us work, I'm more than willing to wait as long as you need."
Nova smiled and leaned in to kiss the red monkey's cheek, and then she went back to the console to continue her work, "We'll talk more later, ok? I'm gonna wait until Chiro wakes up before I take a break, he deserves it."
Sprx walked up to the yellow monkey and smiled at her, "You deserve it too Nova." he pointed his thumb at himself, "Tell ya what, I'll stay here with you and keep you company until then so you're not in here all alone, that ok with you?"
"That sounds good to me. Thanks."
So the two monkeys continued their work while the rest of the team did their own thing. At this point, the only thing the Hyperforce were sure of was the fact that they would be in for quite a battle once they reached their destination. But they could take comfort in the fact that they would all be facing off against this threat together, and that no matter how much they may feel otherwise at times, no monkey team member was ever alone.
_
A/N: Ok, so this chapter was basically nothing but fluff and comfort. If anyone's thinking that the characters are...out of character, allow me to explain first.
Chiro: The kid feels like he's responsible for the death of a friend. He's killed before (that pig guy from Galactic Smash anyone?) and not felt any apparent guilt, but this is the first time someone he considered a friend has died, and evidently by his own failure to step up. I don't count Antauri because Chiro didn't technically have anything to do with that, and even then he didn't handle it well...granted he wasn't in his right mind but you get my drift. So he's in turmoil, he needs to be comforted, he's still a kid, and he's never had that kind of comfort. I consider myself a pretty tough guy, and I don't face what Chiro does on a daily basis. I can admit I've needed a shoulder to cry on at times when I'm overwhelmed, and Chiro shouldn't be an exception to those types of emotions. Which leads to...
Jinmay: I never did like that dress of hers, and her uniform wouldn't do the job I needed her to do very well. If anyone has better ideas for outfits lemme know, I can't think of many colors that go with pink hair. Jinmay wants to comfort Chiro, she can see how exhausted he is physically, mentally and emotionally, so she went out of her way to calm him. Doesn't seem too OOC for her does it?
Sprx: He wants this to work, and Nova's made it clear to him that she likes him, but she needs time to adjust. Hence, he's not pushing too hard like he normally does. For Nova, he's willing to take it slow.
Nova: She also wants this to work, but she's gonna have to be in charge of what they do and don't do in their relationship for a while, because of what I mentioned above. Sprx doesn't wanna push too hard and ruin it for both of them. Also, she might be feeling the stress of being Chiro's first officer with Antauri back on Shuggazoom, so she might be more open to comfort if it comes at the right time.
That's my explanation. If you think I'm wrong, please give me reasonable explanations as to why, flames don't do anything except get people angry.
As for the song Jinmay sang to Chiro, it's called "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M. I again blame my lack of pop culture knowledge, maybe there was a better song out there but I chose that one because of the lyrics used.
This was a LONG author's note. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, it was finally deciding to turn into a downtime chapter that got me out of the hole I'd been trapped in. I couldn't think of a way to make the action seem appropriate, and I guess the reason for that was because it just wasn't. But I'm hoping to get back into action next chapter, and hopefully it won't take me over 6 months to do it. Until next time dear readers.
