Chapter 22: Since when did babysitting involve black holes?

Myra weeks later bit her lip as she saw a row of houses at a distance, nerves twisted at every inch of her stomach leaving her more antsy than before. This was huge what she was thinking of doing and yet, the pull within her grew the more closer she was to one of the modest houses.

"What if I mess up?!" Myra squirmed mentally now wanting to bolt but kept herself steady, how? Because Diabound was holding her right arm keeping her in place. Not that she was complaining, it did give her some means of having an anchor as she looked petrified until his look semi kept her in place.

"Stop panicking, you can do this" Diabound said sounding annoyed while pulling her softy towards the house, not that anyone would know since he was invisible. Smiling shakily she followed until she was at the house. Why did she agree to taking such a step? She hadn't even graduated and had chose to take a big step without anyone knowing, in more ways she was regretting it now.

"I swear it's like Akefia died and merged with you... Why aren't you with Bakura anyways? Surely he and Emi should be your main concern" Myra asked weakly as grateful as she was for his moral support, he was being a bit too forceful for her liking.

"Not my problem and they didn't summon me to begin with" Diabound muttered as he continues to pull her towards the house. Now at the front door she froze as reality of what she was about to agree to hit her like a ton of bricks, this was huge! Was she even prepared to take on a task like this? Seeing her doubting enough to create second thoughts caused Diabound to roll his eyes at her look and forced Myra's hand to knock on the door startling her.

"Diabound?!" she hissed before tensing up as the door opened a minute later her head shot up and she was now face to face with a tall brown haired man.

"Can I help you?" he asked looking at her with curious eyes as he saw how unsettled she was.

"Ah! Sorry are you Mr. Yuki?" Myra asked now snapping out of her frozen daze, she looked at him while Diabound kept holding her wrist as her fingers twitched signalling she was extremely nervous. Startled the man blinked.

"Who might you be?" The man asked as he kept an eye on her nervous form in case she was up to something.

"M-My name is Myra Michiyo, we spoke on the phone about babysitting your son" Myra said while hearing Diabound groaning.

"Honestly Myra! He's not going to beat you so calm down already!" Diabound scolded lightly.

"Do you want to swap positions?! Being in charge of someone's life is a big responsibility! Plus he's child, what if I mess up?" Myra snapped while keeping a semi calm look despite the side of her mouth was twitching due to nerves. The man stared at her before 'ahing' in realisation.

"I am incredibly sorry, you are younger then what I expected" Mr. Yuki said causing her to smile weakly.

"S-Sorry to disappoint" she said meekly while he let her in.

"Don't be sorry, I can imagine you must be nervous but don't worry Jaden's a good kid" the man said with a soft smile while Myra followed him after taking her shoes off. "He can be shy when it comes to new people and sadly due to work, it's left me having more hours away from home and my wife at times needs a break once in a while" he explained. Blinking Myra nodded.

"I see, it must be really busy here?" Myra commented before sensing a small child near the upper stairs but kept didn't show that she knew.

"It can be lively" Mr. Yuki laughed which made her smile, once in the kitchen she spotted a woman with mousy brown hair and blue eyes. Hearing his voice the woman turned to smile at them.

"This is Myra, she called us about the babysitting add we posted" he explained, surprised the woman looked at her.

"Oh? How do you do? I'm Lulu" Myra smiled as she shook her hand.

"To be honest very nervous" Myra replied with a nervous chuckle before Lulu giggled.

"Don't worry, everyone gets nervous once in a while. So has Jiro spoke to you about the hours and stuff?" Lulu asked with an interested smile.

"Ah! Was going to, just got side tracked" Jiro said while scratching the back of his hair with a sheepish smile.

"Typical you" Lulu teased before pecking him. "So when can you start?" hearing this surprised Myra enough to make her eyes grow wide.

"You'd really let me babysit?" Myra cried in alarm causing Lulu to laugh.

"I can see you'll be good to help take care of him, you don't seem like the bad type" Lulu assured Myra who bit her lip weakly.

"It's up to you really, if you change your mind-"

"No no! I want to do this, really I do it's just sudden but I would like to try and gain experience with children" Myra admitted shyly as she looked down at her feet while her hair hid her eyes, smiling the parents looked at the other for a bit before nodding.

"Tomorrow at ten sounds good?" Jiro offered, slowly she looked up and smiled.

"I would love that" Myra said before seeing a small two toned brown haired boy with brown eyes enter the room, in his arms was a brown bear with a green bow tie which made Maemi smile at how cute he looked. She could definitely see a resemblance with his father given that they have the same hair style.

"Ah Jaden, this is Myra she's going to help us around the house" Jiro introduced the nervous pair who looked at the other but said nothing, seeing this Hiro grew nervous until he saw his wife smiling. Myra blinked before soon smiling at the youngster and knelt down slowly as to not startle him.

"I'm Myra, nice to meet you Jaden" Myra greeted the boy as he looked up at her with shy eyes, judging by his size he was about four years old. At first it looked like he was about to remain silent until he moved slightly.

"Hi..." Jaden replied meekly which left everyone relieved at how he responded.

"Safe journey home" Jiro waved before he closed the door once Myra walked away. Smiling Myra felt her heart relax knowing that this was the boy who no doubt called her.

"Told you not to worry" said a voice that made her grin at how annoyed Diabound sounded.

"I'm not use to new areas and people, plus it will take some time to get use to speaking to everyone considering that it's all over" Myra said before sighing heavily, even speaking at times left her tired to her dismay however it would take some time to get use to this regardless of the fact Marium had restored her voice. She piped up as she heard Diabound grunt slightly signalling he understood.

Crossing the bridge Myra started to relax knowing that she was working, yes Solomon had offered her a job but it was not suited her. She wanted to help people so why not start out with children? Regardless of her leftover time she was willing to make the most of it, although... as accepting as Yugi was about her condition. He had been a bit nosy in where she was going from time to time so to put him off she had told Seto and Mokuba that she was thinking of babysitting, sadly trying to get Seto to cover her did prove to be a challenge as he at times asked her to summon Atem. Knowing why she flat out refused him and told him Atem is where he wants to be, that and forcing him away from his loved ones seemed cruel. To Seto's confusion she had not spoken to Marium since she departed.

"Don't you miss her?" he had asked at his office.

"Yes, but I know that she is where she wants to be. She was in a deep sleep for five thousand years and suffered so much, I'd rather let her not come and worry" Myra explained to his annoyance since his idea to encourage her to summon the spirits backfired, that and even though he had claimed magic didn't exist he still kept asking. Now after warning him not to ask again or she would leave did he stop since it would lead to a lot of regrets.

As she crossed the long bridge parts of it started to turn blue until the air became dense enough to leave Myra unsettled.

"What's wrong?" Diabound asked as he looked at her surprised look.

"Don't you feel it?" Myra asked as she turned to look at him, suddenly she felt a spike in the air before the soft wind froze completely which made her realise time had now stopped. "What's going on?" Myra asked feeling unsettled by how the area was now covered in blue, suddenly a black hole appeared beneath Myra who's eyes widened in horror. Diabound before he could do anything she fell.

"Diaaaaaah!" Myra screamed as her body moved so she was now falling head first through the hole while reaching for the duel spirit who flew after her. Fear ran through her at what was going on, what was happening and why her?

Darkness soon filled her line of vision before she passed out, whether it was because she hit her head she didn't know but what she was aware of was that she was in no pain.

I know it's short and it's ending on a cliffy but there's a reason for it
