MistressOfTime: What is up with recently? This should have been out two days ago. But no, this site doesn't seem to want me to post. Well I will not stand for this! Do you hear me? (Breathes) Sorry. That came out of nowhere. Please ignore me and enjoy your reading.

"What do you think love would smell like?"
Siegfried could not help but raise an eyebrow. For a moment he thought he had misunderstood the question. "What?"
Yunseong shrugged. "Love. If it could, you know, smell like something, what kind of scent do you think it would have?"
"The things you cook up in that head of yours." Siegfried wondered what was going on with his friends lately, and why they were all suddenly coming to him for advice on love. He had a boyfriend, yes, but that did not necessarily make him a love specialist.
"I'm serious!" Yunseong huffed and started rubbing the back of his head. "I think it would smell like an orange."
Siegfried had not expected Yunseong to use a fruit as a metaphor for love's scent. Flowers he could understand. Those were the cliché after all. There were dozens of flowers to describe love with, and there were dozens of lovely smells to accompany them. Any of those would have worked well. A fruit, especially an orange, signifying an aspect of love? Siegfried had not really thought of the two going hand in hand. Why not a passion fruit or something similar in reference?
"Why an orange?"
"Cause it's a citrus. It's got this sweet but tangy smell to it. I figure that's really all that love is. A sweet piece of life that can really bite you if you're not prepared for it."
Yunseong may have been odd, but he did have his moments. Siegfried would give him that. "Clever. I can understand that."
Yunseong smiled proudly and stood a bit taller. "So, what about you? You never gave me your brilliant theory."
Siegfried rolled his eyes, but smiled nonetheless. "Lavender, and the smell of plants growing in the forest."
Yunseong's smile was quickly dropped and was replaced with pure undiluted confusion. "What?"
Siegfried merely laughed. "You have to ask?" He pointed to a blonde figure clad in green slowly making his way towards the two of them. The Hylian waved when he saw the two looking his way.
Yunseong blew out a puff of air and waved back. "Oh of course. I should have known."

Siegfried looked a lot like his mother. Once you got past the masculine traits handed down to the Schtauffen by his father, almost every aspect of the knight's appearance was thanks to Margaret. The light shade of the hair, the fine angle of the eyes, even the softer vocal ranges of their voices was similar at their roots. In all essence, if Siegfried had been born a girl, the widow would have had an exact clone of herself in her child. It was remarkable.
Siegfried had told him once that such a resemblance was normal. Little girls tended to look like their fathers while little boys tended to look like their mothers. As an example the knight explained the way Sophitia's children looked in comparison to their parents. Pyrrha deeply resembled her father, whereas Patroklos held more of his mother's fine features. He also pointed out that he was sure the Alexander girls looked much more like their father, whereas their younger brother looked more like his mother.
Link wondered if that were true for him as well. He could not be sure. He had not known the true touch of a mother's hand in quite a long time, and whoever his original mother was had faded from his memories long ago.
Even if he tried to recall who that woman was, he highly doubted he would be able to accomplish the task. His first life, much like his recently ended one, had made him an orphan, so he had no memories of his original mother to begin with. Trying to recall memories he did not have would do him no good. He could only wonder.
Did he look like her? Did he look like any of them? Come to think of it, did a being like him even have a mother? Were they even considered by that title anymore? Or were they merely carriers of whatever his current body was?
Looking at Sophitia, cuddling a crying Patroklos who had fallen and hurt his knee, suddenly made Link feel very lonely.
"I want one too."
MistressOfTime: I made myself cry with that last one.
Fang: Where did that come from?
MistressOfTime: From someone I know in a situation I am now forced to be familiar with.
Fang: I'll leave it at that.
