Good evening, tonight on TSNEWs we explore the mysterious case of the shapeshifter's terror on Tokyo, who the government has now identified as Onigumo Arana…

InuYasha was busy chopping away at vegetables at his and Kagome's apartment. His hair was neatly tied back with the help of a bandana that he received as a housewarming joke gift from Sesshoumaru. He had a way with making anything look masculine. As soon as the adrenaline boiled down in the Higurashi household, InuYasha and Kagome finally decided to head back to their own apartment. Much to Akira's dismay, but she knew now that InuYasha was back that Kagome would be safe.

Authorities are keeping details at a minimal for the time being. Chief of police, Renkotsu Seki, said a hostage situation helped lead them to the culprit but would not comment further.

InuYasha watched as Kagome stayed glued to the television, wringing her damp hair with a towel. He scooped up his vegetable scraps and threw them into a bowl. Their cat they had adopted when they were kids, Buyo, snaked through InuYasha's legs as if to say hello.

Kagome shut the TV off and made her way towards the kitchen, perching herself up on the barstool. She thought it was interesting that InuYasha offered to make dinner. She couldn't recall the last time he actually made something for himself. He was currently making a dish that he learned in his short time in the service from someone he bunked with, named Kenshin. They hadn't discussed much on whether he planned on going back or not, considering the reason he wanted to join was now captured. Kagome was grateful she wasn't bum-rushed by journalists or news reporters. That was all thanks to InuTaisho's connections and keeping everything laylow. At the same time though she was taking the spotlight away from InuYasha and she couldn't help but feel badly for it. He was a hero, who with the help of his brother, caught the bad guy that Japan had been fearing for the longest time. Now instead of fame and interviews, being praised all over Japan, here he was serving her dinner.

Kagome looked down at the steaming meal before her and smiled sadly.

"What's the matter?" He asked with the deepest concern, at her side in a second. "Not hungry anymore?"

Kagome tried looking away from him. Nobody has ever made her want to smile and cry at the same time before. She didn't know where this was coming from. She felt like a deranged version of herself. He drew her face back towards him with his claw, searching her face for an answer.

"I just feel bad, I feel like you should be crowd-surfing the citizens of Japan for locking up the most-wanted criminal." Kagome admitted. "and you can't because of me."

InuYasha's eyebrows raised, a sympathetic smile laced his lips. "Kagome…" every time he said her name her heart would skip a beat and she would have to remember to breathe. "You really think I care about that? You really think, Sesshoumaru cares about that? We're just glad you're safe and if you want to stay out of the media than we're going to do whatever it takes to keep it that way. Nobody will truly understand what you went through so it's completely fine if you need to heal privately. Trust me when I say there's no place I'd rather be than here beside you."

Kagome pondered over his kind words and nodded. He probably understood more than she did that she wasn't going to bounce back to her regular self instantly after what she went through. That would be terrifying for anyone. He gave her thigh a rub and a quick pat before hoisting himself up to fix up his serving. Suddenly the front door was jiggling and in came Eri with her purse and sweatshirt in hand. She looked at the couple a little embarrassed.

"Oh hey guys, sorry, I didn't realize you'd be back today." She set her things on the counter and followed the aroma in the kitchen, looking into the pot. Kagome did inform InuYasha that Eri had been staying over after he had left to keep her company. Eri was pretty good at keeping things cleaned so he didn't really mind that she was crashing in his room.

"There's plenty, if you want some." InuYasha offered, taking a seat next to Kagome.

"I was hoping you would say that." Eri grinned, turning on her heel to grab a bowl.

The three enjoyed their meal together. Majority of the conversation was from Eri talking about her day at work. InuYasha had no idea how the girl could go on and on about one work day, but she did. InuYasha cleaned up what he could for the night in the kitchen and told the girls he was checking in for the night. As soon as he shut his bedroom door, Eri averted her attention to Kagome who was in mid-bite of her snack. Her expression was criminalizing.

"Eri what?" Kagome begged.

"Are you guys official yet or what?" Eri giggled like the inner school girl she still was. Kagome rolled her eyes, trying to hide her blush.

"We haven't really had a chance to discuss that." InuYasha sighed into the phone, completely sprawled out on his bed. Jakotsu was on the phone to yell at InuYasha that he didn't tell him that he was back in town. InuYasha even gave him the entire spew of information of what happened, including the kisses, yes, kisses, with Kagome. He couldn't explain these new feelings for Kagome. Anytime she was mentioned his heart seemed to do a 360 in his chest. It was strange for him to see her differently. He didn't know how long he fought back having feelings for her. The feelings didn't compare to the other relationships he had been in so it was all unfamiliar territory.

"I mean, he probably forgot he even proposed to me before he left. It was probably just a spur of the moment kind of thing to make it dramatic." Kagome convinced herself. Eri pulled her hair back behind her ears, trying not to strangle her friend for being such an idiot.

'Sweetheart, girls don't forget things like that. If she wasn't the least bit interested she would have bought a plane ticket to get as far away from you she could as possible. Believe me, I've been there. You really think I've from Japan? The answer is no.'

InuYasha made a face at his phone. How the hell he became so attached to Jakotsu working at the hair salon was beyond him.

"He was literally the one that made the first move and kissed you! What in the fuck is not clicking in your head?" Eri slammed her palm against the counter, causing Kagome to look over at InuYasha's door.

"Eri, he's trying to sleep." She scolded in a whisper.

"Yeah, but maybe she was just being nice and felt sorry for me." InuYasha shrugged innocently.

Eri snapped her fingers and pointed at Kagome. "If you don't go into his room and confess your feelings I will go in there and maul his fine ass myself."

"Eri, I thought you were into girls?" Eri looked at Kagome sympathetically. Her friend could be so naïve sometimes but that's what made Kagome's heart pure.

"We're talking about you! Stay focused."

"I'm just scared, okay?" Kagome threw her hands up in defeat. "I've spent most of my life guarding this innocent flower of a friendship only thinking he ever truly saw me as a sister, burying my feelings for his sake, taking a step back for the other girls that were in his life like Shiori and Kikyo because his happiness meant everything to me and I didn't want to ruin it by getting my own feelings involved."

'You think you're the only two in the whole world that has been in this predicament? You have to take that leap of faith and go for it.'

InuYsha could hear the click of a shotgun in the background on the other line. Again, he made a face.

'Pardon that. Just business.'

"Thanks for your help Jakotsu. I'm going to talk to her. Maybe we can catch up over lunch or something one of these days."

'Perfect. There's a new place that opened up across the street from the salon. I plan on being extra hungry so bring two wallets.'

Eri hugged Kagome goodbye.

"If you chicken out, I will find out and I will hunt you down." Eri warned, showing her way out. Kagome brushed her off and laughed lightly. She knew if Sango was able, she would have given her a similar speech with Miroku giving the occasional head bobble in the background. Although, Sango still was trying to get rid of the guilt for letting Kagome go to the bathroom by herself. Kagome told her over and over that it wasn't her fault. It still could have happened even if they had both went. She locked the door and proceeded to the end of the apartment where InuYasha's door was. She knew that he already called in for the evening but if she didn't do it now, she wasn't going to.

Before she could even press her knuckles to the door, it swung open, making her jump.

"Oh, h-hi." She said nervously. He was just as surprised to see her.

"Can we talk?" They said together. InuYasha stepped out of the way to let Kagome enter his room. His heart was racing just as fast as the night he rescued her. They waited a few painful seconds for someone to speak first. Neither one knowing quite just how to begin.

"I have feelings for you, obviously." Kagome snapped with his fists clenched, secretly digging into her skin. She was hoping that this would be easier for her to do if she sounded angry. He couldn't suppress the soft smile that formed. "But I was too scared to bring it up. You being a part of my life means everything to me and I don't want to lose you."

InuYasha took her wrists gently into his hands, sliding them further to unclasp her fists and join hands with her. They found themselves back in the same position in Kagome's old bedroom at her mother's house. For the past few days they had brushed it off as if nothing happened.

"So I can kiss you?"

Kagome's brain stepped on its brakes and she looked up at him. "-N-no! 'Cause that clearly hasn't resolving anything for us." She pushed him away slightly. The way her face bunched up when she was frustrated only made him want to kiss her more.

"If anything, I'm going to kiss you this time!" She barked.

"Is that a threat?" inuYasha pressed with a smirk on his face. "Do it then."

Kagome was fuming and she didn't quite understand why, but it gave her the courage to do what she did. She grabbed him by the forelocks, causing him to bend down to her level and she kissed him more passionately than she had ever kissed someone before. He frustrated her. He said weird things like marrying her before only a couple days later acting like he never said anything. He was toying with her heart and he didn't even realize it. The kiss caught InuYasha slightly off guard but nonetheless his arms took position around her small frame and they both stumbled onto his bed. The kiss from Kagome was aggressive, it unleashed a side of her that he kinda liked. They both came up for air, slightly panting, staring into each other eyes, their cheeks rosy. The scowl on Kagome's face came back but before she could continue her rant, he flipped them both over so now that he was on top and flashed his sexy smile at her.

"Kagome Higurashi." He began, placing his clawed finger over her lip. "l love you more than I ever realized I possibly could. I whole-heartedly reciprocate your feelings. Don't ever think otherwise."

Her legs felt like jelly. The scowl on her face had long diminished. She was at a loss for words. She certainly got what she wanted by coming into the room.

"Did you guys have sex?"

"How did I know you were going to ask that." Kagome sighed at her friend Miroku who was innocently slurping from his soda as if he didn't ask an invasive question. Kagome had invited Miroku and Sango out for lunch. InuYasha was away on his own lunch date with Jakotsu.

"Me and Sango did." Miroku added, nonchalantly. Sango slammed her fist on the table and looked at Miroku with wide eyes.

"Miroku, what the hell!" Sango planted her face against the table leaving Kagome nearly falling out of her seat laughing. She didn't want the world to know that she willingly slept with a pervert.

"What? I was hoping it would encourage Kagome to tell us about her love ordeals." Miroku shrugged.

"I don't know why you keep inviting him." Sango jabbed her thumbs at Miroku who was pouting.

"Because when I don't you lose your soul." Kagome smirked, making her friend glare at her. Miroku gasped and wrapped his arms lovingly around an unwelcoming Sango. He still had one eye on Kagome, waiting for her to answer his first question.

"No Miroku, we didn't" She got a kick out of seeing his disappointed face.

"On a more serious note, Kagome. You look like you're doing a lot better." Sango meant mentally, knowing how her friend was headed down an emotional spiral when InuYasha first went into the service.

"She has a rich, hot ass boyfriend. Of course she is." Miroku pointed out as if it wasn't the most obvious thing in the whole world. Forgive me, my dear Shango, for not having banging loads of cash. One day, but not today." He kissed her on the hand lightly.

Kagome scraped the remains she had of her French fries against the smear of ketchup and ate them in tiny pieces. It had only been a couple hours since she had last seen InuYasha and she had missed him terribly already. Perhaps, Sango was right. There was something about her attachment with InuYasha that was almost unhealthy.

"Excuse me, miss?" A man approached their table in an all white uniform with a baseball cap. "Are either of you Ms. Higurashi?" He presented a bouquet of red and pink roses. Miroku placed his fingertips over his chest as if he was offended that he was disregarded as possibly being Ms. Higurashi. Kagome bit her lip and raised her hand lightly.

"These are for you." He smiled, placing the bouquet in her arms. "Have a great day." With that he walked off.

Kagome ran her fingers over the delicate petals. They felt as if they were freshly picked. Sango and Miroku were squealing in the background for her.

"Well shit, let me know if he's accepting applications for a second girlfriend." Sango admitted.

Buried between the roses was a small note that simply said:

Dinner at 8.

"Oh they totally had sex." Miroku scoffed, nodding his head in approval. Kagome and Sango both smacked him on the back of his head.

Don't have much to say besides I'm going to try and drag this out for three more chapters. Cause everyone likes a fifty. Thanks for reading.
