Epilogue
It wasn't what I had intended.
Nothing was.
I hadn't intended to get caught.
I hadn't intended to get taken.
I certainly hadn't intended to bond.
But I had.
I'd done all of those things.
Now everyone knew what I had been hiding for years.
Now I was bonded.
My parents were back home.
I lived with Gaius.
My best friends were engaged.
And here I was sitting in class, passing notes to my bond mate, who currently lived with me.
Spending my lunches making fun of Lance with Gwen and having dinner with my parents. Showing Arthur around Camelot and, yes, he went through with his initiation. I got it recorded on my mobile and a picture of it as my screen saver. We also had several new additions to the knights. Percival, Daegal, Elena, and even Helen. We all kept in contact and promised to visit each other when we could.
Uther went back to London, but he's been visiting frequently. Morgana hasn't met him yet (her choice) and Arthur is still pissed at him, but he's talking to him again. Baby steps.
Arthur did drop my body guards down to two. They're nice guys, they also learned that they really can't stop me from going anywhere regardless of what Arthur fed to them. Arthur has been very worried about my safety since I came back. Gaius says I can't blame him. It's still annoying, regardless.
I watch, Arthur from the corner of my eye as he scribbles on the paper I just passed him.
We've been learning new things about each other every day.
I told him I want to see the world.
He told me that there was nothing stopping us.
He said being the alpha prime gave him important responsibilities and he wanted to do right by everybody.
I promised to do everything I could to help.
He also told me he wanted thirty babies and I threw a book at his head.
We settled on two and that it wouldn't be for at least another 15 years.
I never thought about having kids before, but I liked the idea. We could adopt and give some kids out there a home. Safety. Like Arthur taught me I could have.
He also wanted a proper wedding one day.
I haven't agreed to it.
We're bonded, what could a wedding change?
I was pretty sure that I'd probably agree to it eventually, but really, no rush, right?
So here it was.
A future I never wanted.
A life I hadn't believed I could have.
Safety, I hadn't known I'd needed.
Everything that I always thought I'd hate, turned out to be everything that I needed.
I was the alpha guide wizard.
The alpha prime sentinel's bonded.
And I was happy. Planning out a new future. Changing my perspective. I was still me. Paranoid and annoying. Unnecessarily loud at times.
But I was different and that was ok. I didn't have to hide and that was ok, too.
We'd figure everything else together. Not just Arthur and me but all of us. My family, both the old and the new.
The knights of Camelot stood together.
One for all and all for one.
We could take on the world together.
Bet on it.
A/n: This one is the end. For reals. I hope you guys like it! But it's time I move on and I hope to be able to start up something new. This story ended being a lot longer than I had intended, but it was fun and I hope I improved as it went along. Thank you again everyone for all of your support.
