Your pain is my Pain: Part Two

"Marry me"

I stare at him in shock. Did he just ask me to marry him? I think. A million thoughts cross my mind; memories together. The confidence he gives me. How we help each other face our fears. Everything rushes back to me in that moment. When I look at him again, I see his eyes are wide and his lips are parted. I've been staring at him too long.

My lip begins to tremble as I realize what will happen when I say the next word. "Yes" I whisper. A whole life with him. "Yes" I say again, louder as images flood my mind. A wide grin spreads across his features. "Yes" I nod, leaning over to kiss him.

He laughs against my lips as tears of joy slip down my cheeks. He takes my face in his hands tightly and kisses me on the forehead. "Yes" he exhales, and a slight laugh escapes his lips. He kisses my nose and then brushes his lips against my mouth. "I love you" he murmurs.

I sigh against his lips and cuddle against him. "This is the best night of my life" I whisper, closing my eyes tiredly.

"You're perfect" he says, running his fingers through my hair. My mouth doesn't form my response as I am too far gone.

I wake up in my usual grumpy mood, I hate mornings. I feel Tobias' steady breaths against the palm of my hand lying on his chest and the events of last night rush into my mind. An unstoppable smile spreads over my face and I sit up. I run to the bathroom and take a quick shower, grinning the whole time. I'm engaged… engaged.

As I let that sink in, I decide to let my happiness take over a little more than usual. I walk into the room and gently straddle Tobias and his eyes flutter open sleepily. I peck him on the lips quickly and grin down at him.

"Hey" he mumbles smiling, his voice hoarse from sleep.

"Hi" I breathe against his lips. "Fiancé" I smile.

His lips turn into a smile as he flips me over. "You in for the treat of your life" he says in mock seriousness.

I laugh. "Oh, is that so?"

"Mhmm" he mumbles, kissing me passionately. "You'll regret saying yes" he says playfully.

"I doubt it"

He grins and hops out of bed. "I'm going to shower and we can go eat together" he says.

I nod and watch as he grabs a clean change of clothes and walks into the bathroom. He stops at the door and winks at me. I throw my head back laughing and sigh with a huge smile on my face as he closes the door. I lay in bed the whole time.

I've never been this happy in my whole life. Then again, I never truly appreciated the time I had with my family until I became Dauntless. But still now, most of the happiest memories are with Tobias. He reminds me the importance of wanting to live. Of how our love can help when things are wrong. Of how… it's not wrong to want to escape your past; how you don't choose your family and it's not right to judge people because of them. He reminds me that even in the worst of times, things will get better.

I jump and my eyes fly open when Tobias takes my hand, my reflexes almost getting the best of me. I relax when my eyes find his face and he pulls me up. My body crashes into his and we stumble back laughing. We bump into the door and he pins me against it. I smile and he brushes his lips lightly against mine before taking my hand in his.

My eyes widen as he gets down on one knee and opens a box, revealing a simple silver band. "I was going to wait, but last night…"

"Yes" I smile. "I'm not backing out of this, Tobias. You're stuck with me" I grin.

He slips the band on my finger and stands up, leaning in until I can feel his breath on my lips. "Forever"

"Forever" I agree.

A/N: Hey! Okay so I thought the ending of the chapter was pretty cruel if I just left it there. Plus, my best friends who read it literally threatened me to write another part. So don't think of this a second chapter, but as a part two.I hope it doesn't seem dragged out... that was why I didn't want to write another part in the first place. I didn't want to ruin it. I swear this is the last part of it though lol. Anyway, I'm thrilled with the amount of people who read it and the reviews it's gotten in so little time. You guys are awesome!
