Chapter 2

The next morning Cam woke up to screaming. Ear shattering screaming, most likely waking up the entire Gryffindor tower, and maybe the whole school, and it came from none other than Hestia.

"Hest, what is the problem?" Mary asked, groggily getting out of bed, rubbing her eyes.

"I can't find my skirt." She screeched.

"You have more then one skirt," Lily reminded her. "Like this one on my bed for example." It was obvious that Hestia had been looking for it for awhile. It wasn't even the second day and their room already looked like a tornado had gone through it, most of it being Hestia's stuff, obviously.

"But this one is the cutest. I know I packed it. I wanted to wear it special for the first day of classes." She complained.

"Just wear a normal black shirt Hest, it's really not that big of a deal." Em said, pulling out her own black skirt, white top and Gryffindor tie. "I hope nobody needs to use the bathroom, cause I need to do my hair and make up."

"Well I'm going to come and join you, because I do too. We can't keep the boys waiting." Cam laughed, grabbing her clothes from her trunk and following Emmeline.

"You are evil." Lily said, very seriously, looking straight at her.

"You know she's going to kill you one day," Emmeline whispered to Cam in the bathroom.

"Nah, she'd miss me too much."

It took the girls an hour to be ready, and have all their stuff ready for the day. Cam could have sworn that Lily was purposely going slower so that if the boys really did wait for them they would get bored and go down to breakfast without the girls. Luck wasn't on her side though, the boys were coming down the same time, which surprised them all.

"Either you guys got up really late, or you're all secretly girls." Mary laughed.

"Padfoot is the one that is secretly a girl. I swear it takes him a half hour to mess around with his hair just to come out of the bathroom with it look the same." James said, rolling his eyes at his best friend's offended expression.

"So, you girls ready for breakfast? Cause I was an hour ago." Remus said, gesturing to the portrait hole.

During breakfast Professor McGonagall passed out their timetables, Cam was embarrassed to admit she was excited to see her classes, she actually hoped that she had Arithmacy first. She loved the class, even if she wasn't really that close with anyone in it, though she had a feeling she would be by Christmas at the latest.

"We have Potions first, why did we want to take N.E.W.T. level Potions again?" Sirius asked.

"Because we all got O's and mum wanted you too." James told him without looking up from his own schedule. "Cam we got Arithmacy after lunch, ready to only have me to talk to?"

"Oh, definitely. I am so excited for all the questions you ask about Lily, everyday to no end." Everyone laughed, except for Lily who turned the color of her hair.

"So, after Black is done shoving food down his throat, we should go to class." Hestia groaned, obviously still not over the skirt mishap.

Potions and History of Magic were the two most boring classes, at least that's what Cam thought. Naturally those were also the two classes the sixth year Gryffindors had first that Monday morning. By lunch everyone was in a bad mood, except of course for Lily, who loved all classes excluding Transfiguration.

"Finally it's time for lunch!" Sirius exclaimed, from behind the five girls. "And then a free period, this day is finally looking up."

"Really Black, after how much you ate this morning I'm surprised you're even hungry." Emmeline laughed, looking back at the Marauders, who were following them to the Great Hall.

Cam had noticed that the Marauders had been following them around all day, and Lily and Hestia had actually been joking around with them. The four boys had sat with them in both classes, and had only been relatively annoying, and that was mostly Sirius.
"We finally get to have a period away from you boys," Mary laughed, looking at her schedule and comparing it with Remus'.

"Cam doesn't, she's stuck with me for the rest of the day." James smiled across the table at her.

"Who says, I'll spend my free period with you?" She quickly shot back, also smiling. She always had trouble in Arithmacy, even though it was her favorite class, and James had helped her with it last year, which had gotten her an O on her OWLs. She knew, just as well as he did, if they got and Arithmacy homework, they would be spending their free period together.

"Girls, are we still on for the library after our last class? Before dinner?" Lily asked, as she reached over Sirius to grab a sandwich.

"You guys have your own study group?" Sirius mocked, after slapping her arm away and reaching for the same sandwich.

"See, you think you're being funny, but yes we do." Emmeline said, with a smirk. "We always do all of our homework together. Because if we don't then Mary, Hest and I are confused." The boys laughed, and Mary and Hestia just nodded along because they knew it was true.

"Now, I'm sure you girls are sick of us by now, but would you mind if we join you? We know a better spot than the library, and we could always work through dinner. I would like a couple extra people to help explain stuff to these three." Remus smiled at his friends.

"We would love to help, where is this better spot you claim to know about?" Cam laughed, ignoring the glares from both Hestia and Lily.

"Meet us in the common room and we'll show you, it's easier than telling you." James told her.

The nine teenagers finally separated, after what was already a long day. Remus and Lily split off to go to Ancient Runes, Sirius and Peter went to who knows where for their free period, and Em, Hestia and Mary went off to Divination. James and Cam made the sane journey they had been making since third year, to Arithmacy. Though this time it felt different. Sure, technically Cam was still supposed to hate the tall, hazel-eyed boy, but she knew Lily wouldn't glare at her when she talked to him anymore. They were talking and joking all the way up to the familiar fourth floor classroom.

"So, tell me about your summer? What did you do? Who did you see? What did you kiss?" James asked when they sat down at the table in the back.

"First of all, what did I kiss?" Cam asked, laughing.

"Yeah, naturally whoever you did kiss would've been some slimy guy who's no good for you." James smiled, showing off his Marauder grin all the girls swoon over. "Though I guess considering Remus isn't here I don't really need to say it, but I feel like I should."

"Why would Remus care who I kissed during my summer?" Cam asked, as she felt the heat rising to her cheeks.

"No reason, so tell me, and I need some real advice, what do I do about Lily? After last year at the lake I'm surprised she's even looking at me, even if it is to glare."

"Well we're coming back to the Remus subject, but I'll let it slide for right now. Lily only dates guys she knows. She needs to get to know you before she sees she's been wrong about you all these years."

"Get to know me? How is she going to get to know me if all she does is glare and make snide comments." He asked, sounding totally helpless.

"Be friendly. Ask about her day and actually listen. Say good morning and actually care about how she's feeling then. Help her with Transfiguration, because she hates that class. Know her so well that you can tell if she's in a good mood or not by the way she fake smiles at you." Cam explained, hoping he'd understand.

"But then won't I just be freindzoned?" He asked, stupidly.

"James, if she gets to know you that well, she'd be crazy not to fall for you. You've changed so much since that morning on the train. She just needs to see that."

"So since you know me so well, does that me you're falling for me?" He raised his eyebrows, obviously trying not to laugh.

"You wish," she laughed, "plus I don't even know you that well. This is the first year I'm really going to be allowed to talk to you. Now tell me about Remus."
