Are You a Virgin?
It was a very slow and boring day and everyone, minus Gilbert, was sitting in the living room.
Oz slumped back in his seat and groaned. "I'm bored."
Break rolled his eye. This must have been the sixth time the boy had said this. "We know."
"When's Gil going to be done with his paperwork?"
"I don't know. Why don't you play with Alice?" Sharon gestured to the girl who was trying to undo whatever Sharon did to her hair.
"I have a question for him."
As if on cue, Gilbert walked in with a pile of paperwork. "Is there any other paperwork I need to do? Maybe file something dumber than the insurance you put on your doll? Shall I make the payout in candy?"
"Gil! You're finally done! I have a very important question for you."
Gilbert immediately changed his tone of voice. "What is it?"
"Are you a virgin?"
Gilbert dropped his papers, Break snapped his lollipop into pieces, and Sharon spat out her tea.
Alice stopped messing with her hair. "What's a virgin?
"Someone who's never had se-" Oz looked at the very menacing look on Sharon's face. "Who's never had more than a kiss."
Gilbert turned bright red and started to panic. "I-i should pick these papers up and take them back. I need to put them back in order. They're messed up since I dropped them." Gilbert frantically picked up the papers, making the order of them worse.
"Seaweed head must be a virgin."
Gilbert lowered his voice and responded almost defensively. "I'm not a virgin."
Sharon dropped the menacing look for one of mild curiosity. "Since when?"
"Age sixteen." He wasn't sure if his face could turn redder.
Oz's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow. I didn't know you had it in you. Who was it?"
Gilbert's eye twitched a bit. "You don't need to know."
"Then I'll have to guess. Sharon?"
"No."
"Any of the Nightrays?"
"I wouldn't think of it."
"Uncle Oscar?"
"Oz, that doesn't even make sense."
Oz glared and his voice turned to more of a growl. "Was it Ada?
"Ada would have been ten. There's no way it could have been her."
"That's true."
Oz rattled off names for another ten minutes until he got to...
"Break?"
Gilbert couldn't stop his blush from reappearing. "I would never do something like that."
"It was definitely Break."
"Do you honestly think Break would do that?"
Oz looked at Break who was trying his best to distance himself from the group. "Yes."
"It wasn't Break."
"I know it was."
"Just keep guessing."
"Just admit it was Break."
Gilbert glanced at Break who sighed and nodded his head.
Gilbert swallowed hard. "It... was... Break."
Gilbert turned an even brighter shade of red and Break moved farther away.
Oz started laughing. "I can't believe it. What made you two do that?"
Gilbert turned and ran. Break jumped into a closet and disappeared.
Sharon began to redo Alice's hair. "I guess we'll find out another day."
