A One in a Millionth Chance
*This is a Klaine and Blellie story. Weird combination, I know, but I had an idea. It may start out as confusing, but it'll become clearer.
*I don't think that there will be POV's, but it will focus on one of the main 4 characters in each chunk of the story. I might do POV's when something important happens though.
*So, every chapter is going to be titled. The title is going to be based off of a lyric of a song, or song title, that I think fits the chapter.
*This chapter is titled by the lyrics from the Lady Antebellum song 'Ready to Love Again'
.Blaine.
Blaine stopped by the door and thought for a moment. He then turned back around and walked back over to Kurt. He saw Kurt raised an eyebrow and when he saw the cute confused look on Kurt's face, it only made him want to do it even more.
So he did.
He just kissed him.
And God was it great.
Blaine didn't feel fireworks or sparks or whatever, it felt like a bomb was going off the moment his lips touched Kurt's. And when he felt Kurt suddenly start to kiss back, he could only feel the force grow more. And as he pulled back to stare the other man in the face, he really hoped that everything would work out for them…
Because if they broke up after finally getting together, that kind of kiss would be wasted.
"I hate you" Kurt grumbled as he blushed bright red. Blaine gave him a weird look silently asking what he meant, and luckily Kurt continued "You come back and kiss me like that, knowing I have no one to go home to and take about it with" Kurt glared at him "You're a cruel, cruel man, Mr. Anderson"
"Well, Mr. Hummel, you could probably talk about it with Nellie. Technically, we're only pranking Blake and Rachel. So, telling Nellie about our perfect kiss won't do the plan any harm"
"Perfect?" Kurt smiled softly as he looked down at his fashionable boots "You thought our kiss was perfect?"
"It was actually better than perfect." Blaine smiled "In my opinion" he added quickly.
"You know, it was better than perfect in my opinion too" Kurt grinned "I'll talk to you later"
"And you'll talk about me later"
Kurt rolled his eyes but still smiled "Ha ha, very funny"
"I know" Blaine winked and Kurt just smiled at him. "So, I'll talk to you later"
"Yes, you certainly will" Kurt smiled and this time he walked towards the door, knowing full well that Blaine was watching him.
Ugh. That man would be the death of Blaine.
.Kurt.
Kurt walked into the apartment with a huge smile on his face. He shut the door and then called out "NELLIE?! RACHEL?!"
"Stop screaming!" Nellie exclaimed from her spot where she was lounging on the couch watch a movie.
"Is Rachel here?" Kurt asked quickly as he waltzed into the living room and stood in front of the TV. Nellie groaned and turned the TV off with the remote, knowing that something was up.
"No, why?"
"Because I really need to tell you something but Rachel can't know"
"Why not?"
"I will explain in a second! I just really need to say something before I burst"
"Okay?" Nellie sat up and slid her legs up to her chest so Kurt could sit down across from her on the couch. "What's up?"
"BLAINE AND I KISSED" Kurt shouted after he sat down. Nellie's eyes widened and then she grinned
"REALLY?! I KNEW YOU TWO WERE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER!" Nellie squealed "OH MY GOD! YAY!"
"It was perfect!" Kurt gushed "I know it's really cliché or whatever, but it was insanely perfect" Nellie grinned at him
"I'm so happy for you" She smiled and patted his leg "Now, before you go into any more detail, I need to know why Blake and Rachel can't know"
Kurt smiled evilly "Oh yeah!" He smirked "So, we saw them spying on our date, so Blaine had this awesome idea-"
"Blaine did? I'm surprised that you're not taking credit" Nellie teased and then Kurt laughed
"Actually, Blaine told me that I could take credit for it" Kurt bit his lip, trying to stop himself from smiling even wider.
Nellie 'Aww'ed and then poked him in the stomach "You two are perfect together" Kurt tried really hard not to smile, but he just couldn't help it.
"So, anyway" He said after a moment "Blaine's idea was to go over to them and fake them out"
"How so?"
"We told them that we didn't hit it off."
"Oh my God! Rachel's going to kill you once she realizes that this is all a prank!"
"She was so upset when we told her we were better off as friends" Nellie rolled her eyes.
"You two are mean" She then smiled "Thanks for telling me though!"
Kurt let out a laugh and was about to respond when he heard a voice from the other side of the room. "Thanks for telling her what?" Rachel questioned as she walked into the room, she then decided to sit right in the middle of them so it was harder for the two to try and cover up their secret.
"I met a guy on the way back from my date." Kurt blurted out and Nellie gave him a thumbs up from behind Rachel, quickly putting her hands back in her lap when Rachel turned to look at her.
"Really?" Rachel asked suspiciously "Then what's his name?"
Nellie's eyes widened as she looked at Kurt who was trying to think of something
"Mark"
"Is 'Mark' cute?"
"Ehh…" Kurt said "He could be cuter, but he's cute enough."
"That sounded shallow" Kurt shot Rachel a glare and then rolled his eyes.
"Anyway, I was just telling Nellie that he asked me out for tomorrow and I said yes"
"And you're positive that you and Blaine don't have something going on?"
"Yes, we decided it was best to just be friends." Kurt lied and Nellie smirked at him, trying to stop the laughter from spilling out of her. Rachel then raised an eyebrow at Kurt and he smiled "And I would appreciate it if you would stop spying on my dates"
"We weren't spying-"
"Bull shit" Kurt said and she looked at him wide eyes. "We saw you looking at us. Repeatedly"
"I-"
"Please don't attempt to come up with an excuse…we all know you were spying" Rachel opened her mouth and then closed it, looking down guiltily.
"Fine we were spying"
"Now, was that so hard?" Kurt asked sarcastically as he got off the couch. Rachel looked up and glared at him and he simply rolled his eyes as he walked into the kitchen. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and quickly pulled it out before Rachel could follow him and see. He grinned when he saw that he had a new message from Blaine.
Coffee again tomorrow? :)
Kurt smiled as he clicked 'reply' and then started taping on his phone. He reread that text and then sent it.
.Blake.
Blake smirked as he walked into his and Blaine's apartment. He shut the door and tossed his keys onto the coffee table in the living room. He heard a soft voice singing from Blaine's room and his smirk only widened. He approached Blaine's room and peeked inside where Blaine was currently singing 'Teenage Dream' as he danced around his room.
"Hey Blainers" Blake abused the nickname now knowing that Blaine would probably be too embarrassed to catch on "You seem happy? Which really doesn't make sense considering that you're date didn't really work out"
Blaine looked at his roommate and caught on to the look that he always wore when he knew something. "I just like Katy Perry" Blaine lied
"Blainers, I've known you for…how many years?" Blake smiled evilly "I know when you lie."
"I'm not lying. I like Katy Perry. And that song"
"And you also like Kurt"
Blaine's eyes widened as he stared at the taller man "I like him as a friend…" He trailed off and tried to make his voice stop from shaking.
"Cut that crap Blaine, I saw you kiss him" Blaine's eyes widened to the size of quarters and Blake smirked yet again.
"I-I"
"Lied to me and Rachel? Yeah I know"
Blaine's eyes suddenly filled with anger "We lied because you were spying on us!"
"Rachel was spying! She dragged me there! Do you think I wanted to watch my roommate and my boss on a date?! No! I didn't!" Blake shouted
Blaine sighed and flopped onto his bed. "Does Rachel know?"
"No,. I figured you lied because you were getting us back"
"Well, you're right" Blaine smiled softly "And don't tell Rachel. We're going to play this out for a little while"
Blake smiled "I won't tell her" He said as he sat down next to his friend "I'm really happy for you, Blainers"
"Thanks Blakey" Blaine laughed and Blake groaned "And you thought I didn't notice!"
"I should've known" Blake chuckled "So…when are you seeing Kurt again?"
"Oh! I have to text him! Blain exclaimed and whipped his phone out and began to type away.
"Well, okay, that wasn't really an answer…"
"Sorry, I just told Kurt I would text him about what we're doing tomorrow"
"You're seeing him again tomorrow?" Blake raised an eyebrow "Wow, you work fast" Blake mocked him and Blaine stuck out his tongue as he pressed 'Send' "Just don't get him in a bad mood because I have to be with him all day on Monday"
Blaine laughed and patted his shoulder "You shouldn't have told me that because now I just want to tell him to be mean to you all of Monday"
.Nellie.
"KURT!" Nellie shouted from her bedroom. She waited for a moment and she smirked when she heard the shuffle of footsteps come closer to her open bedroom door. Kurt poked his head in and she smiled.
"What?" Kurt asked a hint of amusement and annoyance in his tone.
"I finished my song!" She exclaimed and Kurt grinned and rushed into the room and sat beside her on the bed.
"Oooh! Let me hear it!" Kurt exclaimed and Nellie grinned. She looked down at the guitar in her lap and then as Nellie adjusted slightly, he spoke again. "Is this the one about your hair?" Nellie laughed and nodded
"Yes, it is"
"Well then, sing away!" Kurt grinned and she smiled in response and adjusted once more before she started to strum on the guitar and in no time, she was singing, and Kurt simply stared at her in awe, like he usually did whenever she did sing.

but eventually someone's gonna come down the mountain

Nellie smiled as she stopped and Kurt started clapping immediately. "Oh my God! I love that song!"
"Thanks!"
"I like the end" Kurt winked at her "Makes me think of you and Blake getting together" Nellie rolled her eyes and hit him, which he simply snickered at. "Is that what it's about? Blake coming down from that mountain and sweeping you off your feet?"
"Shut up" nellie said as her cheeks started to heat up. "It's not about Blake, it's about just a guy in general making me feel bright again"
"Not any guy in general. I mean if it was me or any other gay guy it wouldn't have the same effect, now would it?"
Nellie laughed "I guess not"
"Just for the record, you want that 'someone who comes off the mountain' to be Blake…right?"
Nellie sighed and leaned her head against her headboard "I don't know…I guess I do"
"That's not an answer" Kurt told her sternly "I'm not going to tell him if you say yes"
"I'm not worried about you telling him…Kurt, I don't want to say yes."
"And why not?" Kurt questioned "Blake's a catch. If he were gay I'd be all over him" Nellie smiled softly and Kurt placed a hand on hers "What's wrong with liking him and wanting him to make you feel alright again…?"
"I just don't want to fall in love again" Nellie said, tears developing in her eyes/ Kurt sighed sadly and climbed up towards her and then leaned his back against the headboard and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her into a one-armed hug
"Nellie, I know you got hurt, and I'm really sorry that that happened to you, but you can't just not take a chance ever again. If you never take that leap of faith then you'll live out your life to be alone…and I don't want that for you and I know you don't either"
"Kurt…I was most likely going to be alone anyway. Not many guys are interested in me"
"And you're not taking a chance on the ones that are" Kurt leaned his head on her head "Nellie, Blake likes you…go for it"
"I can't. I'm too afraid of getting hurt"
"Well, you're probably always going to be afraid of getting hurt. I'm afraid Blaine will hurt me even though he's a sweet guy, but that's just me being paranoid. Everyone's paranoid about this kind of thing"
"But I'm that times 10" Nellie groaned "You know I don't trust people very easily, so I'm still confused to why I already feel as though I can trust Blake with my whole life…I've barely had 2 conversations with him…"
"Sweetie, you have feelings for him…"
"But I never felt like this with my old boyfriend so quickly…"
""Maybe it's because you and Blake connect better" Kurt suggested "I know both of you really well and I know for a fact you have a lot in common"
"Like what?" Nellie asked, resting her chin on his shoulder to look at him
"I'm not going to tell you that. You'll just have to figure that out on your first date" Kurt smiled "Just don't be afraid to take a chance. If you wait too long, Blake will think you don't have feelings for him and move on…do you want that?" Nellie shook her head "Then do something"
Nellie sighed the silence over came them. She knew Kurt was right but she was simply scared that she'll fall for Blake and then he won't feel the same way…
But maybe it was time to simply let go of the past and let what happens happen...maybe then she'll realize that everythign will be fine if you fall in love...maybe...just maybe...
