A One in a Millionth Chance

*This is a Klaine and Blellie story. Weird combination, I know, but I had an idea. It may start out as confusing, but it'll become clearer.

*I don't think that there will be POV's, but it will focus on one of the main 4 characters in each chunk of the story. I might do POV's when something important happens though.

*So, every chapter is going to be titled. The title is going to be based off of a lyric of a song, or song title, that I think fits the chapter.

*This chapter is titled by 'Bad Day' by Daniel Powter

.Kurt.

"Why are you freaking out? It's Monday. You've been to work before" Nellie said as she played with a loose string that was attached to Kurt's duvet.

"Blaine told me yesterday that Blake saw us kiss, so I just know he'll tease me" He said quietly.

"You don't have to whisper" Nellie smirked "Rachel's been gone for an hour now"

Kurt then let out a groan and pulled his jacket on. "God, I can already see how much she'll tease me about this after she finds out" Kurt said as he adjusted his jacket, trying to make it perfect. "She'll probably say that she needs to make up for lost time!" Kurt let out another groan. "I'm so screwed"

"No, you're not!"

"Why? Because you and Blake will be together by the time she finds out, so she can tease us both equally?" Kurt questioned with hope filling his blue eyes. "Because, that would be just perfect!"

"No!" Nellie exclaimed "She's going to find out soon, and if I do even date Blake, it won't be for a while!" Kurt looked at her and then snorted "I'm serious!"

"Yeah!" Kurt laughed "Okay" Nellie scoffed at him and he simply patted her on the shoulder "It's okay to admit that you'll be with him soon. Because we all freaking know that it's going to happen. Most of us are hoping that it's sooner rather than later"

"Go get humiliated." She exclaimed "I hope Blake teases you all day!"

"See, just for that comment, I'm going to make sure to tease you a lot when you get together"

And Kurt quickly rushed out before he was hit by his pillow that she threw at him.

/

"Morning" Kurt groaned as he looked up to see a smirking Blake, carrying his coffee. "How was your weekend?"

"I know you know" Kurt said with a roll of his eyes.

"I know that you know that I know" Kurt gave him a look and Blake simply looked at him innocently "What?"

"Don't start that"

"Why not?"

"Because it confuses the hell out of me" Kurt said as he yanked the coffee out of Blake's hand, causing it to spill on him. Blake hisses as some of Kurt's mocha hit his skin.

"Oww!" Blake exclaimed "That's so going to leave a mark!"

"It's coffee, Blake, grow some balls!"

"It's fucking hot coffee!"

"Look at me" Kurt pointed at his face. "Do I look like I care?"

"God, it's like I work for the devil" Kurt let out a laugh and Blake gave him a crazy look.

"Oh, Blakey, I thought you would've known by now that I'm worse than the devil" Blake eyes widened at the name and Kurt simply smirked "You don't think that Blaine would let me come to work today without any ammo, did you?"

"You're evil"

"Again, I thought you would've known that already."

/

So, as the day rolled on, Blake and Kurt continued to tease and taunt each other. Every time Blake thought he had won, Kurt would say something equally witty that even made some of Blake's comments sound stupid…Yeah, it turns out that Blaine had said a lot about Blake to make sure that Kurt had enough information to fight back.

And Blake hated it.

Why did his boss have to pick his roommate to date? Don't get Blake wrong, he was incredibly happy for the two of them, but seriously, he would never get a break. He would get teased in his own home and now at work too…sure Kurt teased him before, but now he had new information to use.

"You know, my hand still burns" Blake said from his spot on the couch. Kurt rolled his eyes and then he heard a knock on the door.

"Can you get that, I'm busy with next month's issue"

"But my hand!" Blake whined.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Kurt groaned and then got up out of his chair, shuffling over to the door angrily "I am so gonna fire you" He yanked the door opened and his eyes widened when he saw Nellie and Blaine standing there with large smiles "Oh hi!" He grinned and then stepped aside so the two of them could come in. The two of them looked over at Blake who was sprawled out on the couch "Don't pay any attention to my lazy assistant! He's just crying over some spilt coffee"

And with that comment, Blake shot up and glared at Kurt "It really hurt, okay!"

"Okay…what?" Blaine questioned with a laugh.

"I accidently-"

"Bull shit!" Kurt rolled his eyes and then continued.

"I accidently spilt coffee on him this morning"

"You did it on purpose! I know you did!" Blake exclaimed "You were taking it from me and you only spilt it on me! But not you!" Blake threw his hands up into the air, clearly frustrated "How does that even work?!"

"He's never done that to you before?" Nellie piped up and Blaine and Blake gave her a confused look. "He did that to all of the rude customers at the Starbucks we worked at! I don't understand how…but he managed to make it look like an accident every time. Never got fired either."

"That scares me" Blake said as he took a step away from Kurt "You could probably murder a whole bunch of people and make it look like an accident!" Kurt and Blaine exchanged a look and Kurt quickly turned away so Nellie and Blake couldn't see him laughing.

"So…like a serial killer?" Blaine choked out right before he let out a laugh.

"Dude…serial killing isn't a laughing matter" Blake gave him a serious look and that only made Blaine and Kurt laugh harder.

"You know, Blaine, I changed my mind" Blaine raised an eyebrow at Kurt who simply smirked "I would kill Rachel first, then Blake, and then Nellie"

"Yes!" Nellie exclaimed "I'm not 1st! Or 2nd!"

"Hey!" Blake exclaimed "That's one of the meanest things you've ever said to me!"

"Trust me, it's not one of the meanest things I've said about you" Kurt smiled evilly and Blake scoffed at his boss.

"Why were you guys even making a list about who Kurt would kill?" Nellie questioned from her spot in the corner of the room.

"No reason" Blaine smiled and sent a wink at Kurt, who simply blushed.

"God! You two make it way too easy for me to tease you" Blake exclaimed with a smirk "I knew it'd be easy when you two were in the same room or something, but you just flaunt it!" Nellie let out a giggle and Kurt shot her a glare, which silenced her instantly.

"You know, I could say a lot of things right now, but I think instead, I'm just going to tell Hilary that you have a huge crush on her" Kurt smirked and Blake's eyes widened, but then he shook it off and smirked back at his boss.

"Don't care, she's got a boyfriend now. She won't bother me."

"She told me the day after she started dating that guy that she would dump him for you any day" Blake's eyes widened again and he shook his head.

"Please don't tell her that I like her! She scares the crap out of me!"

"But she loves you so much!" Kurt chuckled at the look of pure horror on his assistant's face. "Even told me that once"

"Please, Kurt, don't!"

"Fine" Kurt sighed and then smiled at him, mischievously "I won't tell her you want to go on a date with her if you ask someone else on a date" Kurt said, eyes flickering to Nellie and then landing on Blake again. Blaine noticed this and smiled at Kurt's plan, and luckily Nellie didn't notice. "Come on, Blaine, I'll show you around!"

Kurt then grabbed Blaine's arm and pulled him out the door, shutting it firmly behind him, leaving a confused Nellie and an embarrassed Blake.

.Nellie.

Nellie watches as one of her best friends dragged Blaine out of the room, confusion etched upon her face. She raised an eyebrow as she turned around to face the only other person in the room. She got even more confused when she saw his cheeks were bright red as he kept his eyes locked on the ground. She took a step towards him, and his eyes flickered up, but then they focused on the ground again.

"What was that about?" Nellie questioned, trying to catch his eye, but it was obvious that he wasn't going to make eye contact.

"I have no idea" Blake lied and then let out a breathless laugh "Kurt's crazy!" He said, trying to spin the conversation to a different topic, but by the look on Nellie's face, she wasn't going to let him.

"Really…you have no idea…?" Blake nodded, still not looking up at her. "Then why won't you look me in the eye?"

"I…um…"

"Please tell me, I won't judge or anything. I just want to know what Kurt was talking about, and why it made him drag Blaine out of the room so quickly"

Blake sighed and then collapsed onto the couch, hands covering his eyes as he leaned his head on the back of the stylish leather couch, that, of course, matched perfectly with the décor of the rest of the office. Nellie rolled her eyes and then walked over and sat down beside him. She poked his side and he looked over at her with a raised eyebrow. "Come one, you know you wanna tell me!"

Blake couldn't help the shiver that ran down his spine as she smiled brightly at him. And now, he wanted to tell her, just so he could maybe see that smile again…but he was afraid that he would scare her off with what Kurt had meant.

"Please," Nellie said with a pout and Blake sighed

"Fine, I'll tell you. But remember, you said that you wouldn't judge" Nellie nodded "I'm sure Blaine and Kurt have told you about I think you're one of the coolest girls ever" Nellie smiled at him "and Kurt thinks-knows that I kind of like you, so what he meant was that he wanted me to ask you out"

"So, he tried to blackmail you into asking me out…" Nellie trailed off, turning away from him slightly as she looked over at Kurt's desk.

"But I'm not going to ask you out just because he's trying to blackmail me. I can take one date with the stalker receptionist. " Blake smiled as he rested a hand on her knee. He then realized what he was doing and he quickly pulled his hand back, which caused Nellie to giggle "I'm sorry"

"It's fine" Nellie replied "And you know, I don't want you to ask me out because of blackmail either…" Blake smiled softly "But, you know, if you happened to ask me out and it wasn't blackmail…I might just say yes"

"Oh really?" Nellie nodded, giving him a shy smile

"Well, then, will you go on a date with me?"

"Don't know" Nellie smirked "Are these Kurt's words or yours?"

"Mine" Blake grinned "Definitely mine"

"Well then…yes, I would love to go on a date with you" Nellie smiled and Blake beamed

"That's awesome!" Nellie laughed softly and then she stood up

"I should probably get going…Blaine and I have a gig in a half hour" She smiled and he quickly returned it, yet again.

"Could, I, uh, get your number?" Blake asked nervously and she nodded, a nervous smile on her face as well. She reached inside her pocket and grabbed her phone, handing it to him, and he handed her his. She typed in her number and then waited for him to be done, and they swapped phones again. "I'll call you"'

"I'm looking forward to it" Nellie smiled and then walked over to the door and looked back at him once more, where they exchanged smiles again, and then pulled the door opened and let out a surprised shriek. And in seconds, Blake was standing beside her, letting out a shout as well. "God! You two make it easy!"

Kurt pulled away and blushed as Blaine simply smiled as Nellie grinned and Blake bit his lip to stop himself from saying something "I'm trying so hard to keep my comments to myself"

"That's a first" Blaine smirked and Blake hit his shoulder

"Not my fault that on your little date yesterday, you told Kurt pretty much every bad thing about me!"

"I would shut it if I were you, because I could do the same thing with Nellie"

"Shut up" Blake scoffed "You probably already have"

"That's true" Nellie said and Blake sent a glare at his best friend.

"Whatever, Blake, you know I've told you things about Nellie!"

"What?!" Nellie exclaimed and slapped his bicep "What'd you say?!"

"Well, I haven't told him about how you wrote a song about him!" Kurt smirked

"I did not write a song about him! I told you that the ending could be any guy in general!

"Not gay guys!" Nellie rolled her eyes and then a memory popped into her head.

"Hey Blaine" She said with a large smirk "On Saturday, when Kurt got home from your date, he literally screamed about how you kissed him" Kurt glowered at her and stomped on her foot "He was so excited the I thought he was going to pee his pants"

"Nellie!" Kurt hissed as he narrowed his eyes at her.

"I told ya you would talk about me" Blaine smiled and poked Kurt's side, making him smile slightly, but then go right back to glaring at Nellie, who simply rolled her eyes, trying not to look at Blake.

"That's nothing compared to what Blaine did" Blake said to Nellie, who snuck a glance at him.

"Blake, shut up!"

"He was running around singing 'Teenage Dream'! It was hilarious!" Kurt bit back a laugh and Blaine clenched his jaw as he glared at his friend.

"Come on, Nellie, we're going to be late for our gig!" Blaine exclaimed, clearly embarrassed as he grabbed Nellie and dragged her out of the room.

"You make me feel like I'm livin' a teenage dream! The way you turn me on!"

"I'm going to kill you, Blake!" Nellie giggled as she heard Blake laughing loudly in the other room…and then she turned beat red when she remembered what Kurt had said…and of course, Blaine had to bring it up. "So…did you really write a song about him?"

"It was in general!" Nellie exclaimed, pulling her arm away from him and marching into the awaiting elevator, where some random people stood, staring at her with weird expressions. "I would appreciate if you minded your own damn business!" The couple of people in the elevator looked at her with wide eyes and then stook a few steps away from her.

"I'm terribly sorry" Blaine said as he stepped in between the random stragers and a pissed off Nellie "She's on her period"

"Oh my God! I am not-mmmmm" Nellie mumbled in =to Blaine's hand that was now covering her mouth.

"Shut up" Blaine said and Nellie huffed as he pulled his hand away cautiously.

"I hate you"

.Blaine.

"Hey, Kurt?" Kurt looked away from the episode of Project Runway they were watching and looked at the younger man

"Yeah?"

"I have a quick question, and I mean, you don't have to answer it if you don't want to…but I just need to know-"

"Blaine, please spit it out"

"Are…we like…together?" Kurt's eyes widened and Blaine groaned "God! I'm so sorry! I shouldn't just say things like that-" But he was cut off by Kurt scooted closer to him and placing his lips over his.

"Yes, we are together" Kurt smiled, but then it faltered slightly. "Unless you don't-" And now it was Blaine's turn to cut him off with a kiss, which Kurt quickly responded to, as he slipped closer to him, wrapped his arms around his neck.

They only parted when they heard the front door slam. Kurt jumped to the other side of the couch, thinking it was Rachel, but he knew he was wrong once he saw a flash of short black hair as the human blob raced into the kitchen. Kurt glanced over at Blaine and Blaine simply nodded as they both stood up and rushed towards the kitchen.

That's where they found Nellie, in a pair of cute skinny jeans, a black top with a scarf wrapped around her neck, and a pink knit beanie attached to her head. She was standing in front of the fridge, searching through their freezer.

"Whatcha lookin' for?" Nellie jumped and spun around staring at Kurt and Blaine, who had puzzled looks on their faces.

"I thought you said you two were hanging out at Blaine's" Nellie sniffled

"Blake kicked us out, because he decided to have your guys' date over there…which you should be at right now" Blaine trailed off "Why are you here?"

"It didn't happen."

"What?!" Kurt exclaimed, his voice going to a higher pitch "Why?! You were so excited earlier"

"You're right, I was"

"What did he do?" Blaine questioned "Did he say something wrong, because he's not good with his words"

"No, he didn't say anything. He didn't get the chance to" Nellie sighed

"What do you mean?"

"I'll explain once I find some ice cream! Or something sweet!" Nellie exclaimed and started looking through the fridge again.

"Are you looking for ice cream?" Kurt asked as he walked over to her. She pulled her head away from the freezer and nodded. "It's way in the back. I bought it on Saturday, but you know Rachel" Kurt rolled his eyes as he moved a couple of items out of the way and then he grabbed a small carton of chocolate ice cream. "Stupid vegan"

"Why'd you buy it?" Nellie questioned as she ripped the lid off, ran over to the silverware drawer and pulled out a large spoon, immediately taking a scoop and shoving it into her mouth.

"I thought I might need it if the date with Blaine didn't go well"

"But it did" Blaine smiled and kissed Kurt's cheek.

"Yes, yes it did"

The two of them were both brought back to reality when Nellie let out a muffled sob. Their heads snapped up to look at her as she was consuming another spoonful of ice cream. "You guys are so adorable! And you two deserve love so much…unlike me" And with that she collapsed onto the floor.

Kurt rushed over to her and helped her up, leading her towards her room. Blaine trailed behind and then Kurt turned towards him "I think this might be a long talk…Nellie has a lot of insecurities…"

"It's fine, I should probably go home and check on Blake, he's probably heartbroken that she didn't show up." Blaine sighed "Just when I thought everything was coming together"

Kurt sighed as well and then cast a glance towards Nellie's room, where they saw her taking another bite of ice cream as tears started streaming down her face. "I'll call you later, after she stops crying or falls asleep or whatever" Kurt placed a sweet kiss on Blaine's lips and then smiled softly "I'll see you later, boyfriend" Blaine grinned at him and then pressed his lips to Kurt's one last time.

"Yes you will, boyfriend"

They were once again brought back to reality by a heart wrenching sob coming from a few feet away. "I'll talk to you later" Blaine nodded and then they went in two different directions, both doing the same thing. Getting ready to help a friend in need.

.Blake.

Blake's eyes flickered to the clock again. 6:30. Nellie was supposed to be here an hour ago…but she still hadn't showed…

Was she standing him up or did something come up…What if she was hurt? What if something happened to her?

Blake reached out for his phone quickly, in a obvious panic. He was about to dial her number, yet again, but then he heard the front door creep open. "Nellie?" He called hopefully.

"She's not coming" Blake stared at his roommate with wide eyes, trying not to look too upset

"H-how do you know?"

"Kurt and I were at his apartment, and then she ran in and started crying" Blake felt his heart break a little when he heard those words "I asked if you did something, but she said that you didn't even get the chance because she hadn't shown up"

"Do you know why she didn't come?"

"No, Kurt was going to talk to her, and I figured I should come home and make sure you're okay"

"I'm not okay" Blake said, voice cracking slightly. Blaine gave him a sympathetic look and then Blake stood up. He was about to walked away but Blaine stopped him by tugging on his wrist and pulling him into a hug. Blake stood there for a moment but then he let out a loud cry and hugged his friend back.

"I honestly thought she liked me"

"She does, Blake, I know she does!" Blaine patted his back, not knowing what else to do "She's even told me"

"Then why didn't she show up?"

"I don't know, but there has to be a logical explanation…she was crying, Blake, maybe she just got freaked out or something"

"She didn't even text me to let me know that she wasn't coming. She just never showed up!"

"I'll talk to Kurt later tonight. I'm sure he'll figure out why Nellie didn't show"

"I just thought that this night would go perfectly!" Blake exclaimed "But then 6:15 rolled around and she still wasn't here…"

"It's okay, Blake, we'll figure this out, I promise"

Kind of an awkward ending, but I have to say that this is my favorite chapter so far. It's longer, so I'm sure you guys will like that…maybe :) Please review and tell me :) I'll write again soon, I'm really into writing this one right now :P

Explanation: I chose this line from the song to title this chapter because of the whole coffee incident and then I feel as though Nellie was faking a smile as she walked home from the date that didn't happen. Hope that makes sense :)
