Middleton Airport
Falsetto's ship hovered above the Middleton Airport and slowly went in for a landing. As soon as it touched down, he and Camille climbed out with Debutante and the two Lithuanian Wolfhounds. "Middleton. Where it all started," Falsetto said.
"Great. Let's find the origin of this whole mess and deal with it already," Camille said. Just then they heard another plane in the distance and gasped, looking over. Their eyes widened in shock. "Oh my gosh, someone else is alive!" Camille exclaimed, pointing.
She made to go and meet them, but Falsetto caught her arm. "Careful. They may be infected but not turned," he warned. He pulled her quickly out of sight. They could spy on the new arrivals from behind their own ship. They waited as the jet came in for a landing, hovering. "Hmm, hoverjet. Trademark villain accessory," Falsetto said.
"So we know they're on our side," Camille replied.
"We still don't know if they're infected," Falsetto replied, holding up a hand.
The doors to the jet opened and out climbed a familiar face. Camille's eyes widened. "Oh my gosh, it's Gemini," she whispered.
"Someone is with him," Falsetto said. His eyes widened a bit when he recognized the man. "Jack Hench," he said in shock.
"Great, but uh, who are the other two?" Camille asked, pointing at the other two members cautiously leaving the jet.
Falsetto frowned warily. "Hmm... trouble. It looks like a Global Justice agent and none other than GJ's Director."
"Why would Gemini and Hench be traveling with Global Justice agents?" Camille asked.
"I don't know, but I suppose in an apocalyptic scenario, any normal face is a welcome one," Falsetto said.
"So what's the play?" Camille asked. "I mean, with Gemini and Jack we outnumber the do-gooders."
"Jack is a neutral party as likely to take their side and even the odds as he is to pick ours," Falsetto replied.
"Falsetto, they might be the only ones left on the planet still normal. We can't let this chance slip away," Camille said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
He glanced back at her, considered her words, then looked out again, weighing his options. "Fine," he at last relented.
Camille nodded and took his hand, pulling him after her. He was mildly startled at the action, but quickly recovered himself and met her stride. "Jack!" he called out.
Jack started, turning quickly with eyes wide. "Falsetto? Camille?" Hench said, clearly surprised to see two of his clients. Actually, Falsetto considered himself more a business partner and supplier than a client. Fortunately for him, Jack viewed him the same.
"OMG! Mr. Hench, you and Gemini are alive!" Camille exclaimed, letting go of Falsetto and running to Hench, jumping into his arms and hugging him tightly. He oomphed, stumbling a bit, but caught her nonetheless. She grinned wickedly. She would totally flirt the pants off him given the chance. Literally. Like, come on. The man was smooth, good-looking, and a multi-billionaire. Single too, as far as anyone knew. Sure he was a fair bit older than her, but hello, multi-billions. The Director of Global Justice, though, looked stunned and put out, mouth dropping in outrage. Talk about weird, Camille thought. Why would she even care? It wasn't a secret that GJ was determined to take Hench down by any means necessary.
"Uh, Camille. long time no see. Good to see you and Falsetto pulled through!" Hench said, extracting himself from her arms a bit awkwardly and seeming a little nervous. A smirk began to spread across Camille's face. She must have flustered him. Ooh, if she had...
"Jack," Falsetto said, approaching and offering his hand.
Jack smiled and took it firmly, shaking. "Falsetto, I know we said we should meet up sometime, but I hadn't intended it to be in a scenario quite like this," he replied. "What brings you to Middleton of all places in the middle of all, well, this?"
"Lithuania was hit. A broadcast mentioned that whatever this is, it originated in Middleton. Since staying at my mansion wasn't an option, Camille and I fled. If we happened to be the only two normal ones left on the planet, the least we could've done is try and fix it. Even if we'd failed, at least we'd have given it a shot," Falsetto replied.
"Admirable," Jack replied.
Falsetto smirked. "Don't remind me," he replied. He looked passed his companion to the two GJ members and frowned a bit. "What's the story behind this?" he asked. Jack grimaced a bit and nervously tugged at the collar of his shirt. Falsetto raised a curious eyebrow at him.
"I'm his wife," Dr. Director immediately replied, approaching Jack and wrapping her arm around his waist territorially as she cast a pointed look at Camille. Jack looked uncomfortable. "The boy is our son, Agent Will Du."
Camille and Falsetto stared at the group in shock, eyes wide. "Wait, wait, wait a minute. You're married?" Camille demanded in outrage. Was he serious right now?!
"You have a son?" Falsetto asked in equal disbelief.
"He's not my father! At least, not anymore," Will cut in immediately.
"Ooh, disinherited, huh? Totally harsh," Camille said, feeling a pang of sympathy for the boy. She'd been in that situation before. Still was, actually.
"You have it backward. I disowned him," Will stated, glaring at the man. Jack sighed hopelessly, shaking his head.
"I feel there's a story to this?" Falsetto incredulously asked, giving Jack a dubious look.
"Don't ask," Jack said dryly.
"I'll be you don't even know the reason, Jack!" Will shot.
"Will, behave," Betty sharply warned.
"What's the relationship like between Uncle and nephew?" Falsetto asked, turning to Gemini.
Gemini blinked and winced. Truth be told, that boy could get him to do pretty well anything. "I could convince the man to sit up and beg. He was more a father to me than my father was," Will replied. Gemini shot him an annoyed look, frowning. He wouldn't deny the former part, but the latter was another matter entirely.
"Oh for the love of… We're not doing this now, Will!" Jack shot.
Annoyed, Will gave his father a sharp look. "Didn't I tell you you're no longer permitted to talk to me?" he bit at the man. Jack scowled. "Don't even, dad! Look, can we just focus on the issue at hand?" He turned back to the others. "No thanks to Uncle Gemini and Mom's little grudge match, whatever the biohazard was that caused this, it ended up leaking into the water or atmosphere or air or something. How it spread across the entire globe so fast is beyond me, but it did, and now we're screwed if we can't fix it! We came here for the same reasons you did. To try and stop this before it can get any worse."
"What? You're at fault for these things?!" Camille demanded, turning on Gemini. "They almost ate my precious Debutante!"
"And almost killed me," Falsetto said with a scowl. The wolf hounds growled lowly and menacingly.
Jack rolled his eyes and stepped in between them all. "People, people, we don't have time to play the blame game," he said, intervening before things got out of hand. "There are bigger fish to fry right now."
"Right. We need to, like, find other survivors or something. Preferably scientists. Doesn't DNAmy live in Middleton? With her mutants, she could like, totally hold the zombies off! Plus with all her, y'know, geneticist stuff, she might be able to figure this thing out," Camille said.
"She has a point. It may very well be our best shot. None of us are scientists. Not like Amy, Drakken, or Dementor are," Falsetto agreed.
"Then we'll make for her residence immediately. We certainly can't stay here any longer. The infected are starting to converge," Dr. Director said, gesturing around. Sure enough, they saw figures pouring out of the surrounding buildings and racing toward them.
"Simply peachy," Gemini sarcastically said, readying his gauntlet and aiming. "Prepare for battle."
Jack drew a concealed gun from his inner jacket. He felt eyes boring into him and turned curiously only to see his son glaring daggers at him. He frowned. "I'm sorry, would you like to see the license?" Jack asked.
Will scoffed, crossing his arms and turning away from the man. "Another assassin on your tail, Jack?" he bit.
Jack smirked. "It never hurts to be prepared," he replied.
"Never mind fighting. Let's focus on surviving," Betty said. "Does everyone have some form of defense?"
"Obviously," Gemini replied, holding up his gauntlet and glaring at her. Jack waved the pistol casually.
"Adomas and Alexandras are all the defense I need," Falsetto said, gesturing to his dogs.
"Not good enough. Give me a moment," Dr. Director said. She went back to her brother's plane and returned with two more handguns. She tossed one to Faletto and one to Camille, who gasped and fumbled with it. Falsetto quickly snatched it from her, glaring warningly, then put on the safety and placed it back in her hands. She grinned sheepishly, shrugging.
"Miss Leon, do us all a favor and keep it holstered. Let those of us who've been properly trained take care of the combat. Maybe you'll get an impromptu lesson later when we're somewhere safe," Falsetto bit. She harrumphed, crossing her arms sulkily.
"Oh come on! Where's my weapon? I'm GJ's' top…" Will began.
"Here," Jack replied, pulling out a tiny little thing that looked like a mini squirt gun made for toddlers and key chains. He tossed it to his son.
"Are you kidding me?" Will demanded, visibly annoyed as he dangled the thing between two fingers.
"What can I say? It packs a punch," Jack replied with a smile and a wink.
Will scoffed, aimed at the hoard, and fired just out of idle curiosity. He gasped when a shock wave flew out, knocking back a whole drove. "Whoa," the boy squeaked, gaping in disbelief.
"I told you," Jack said with a smile.
Will frowned at the man and chose not to comment. "Humph. Follow me. I'll take the lead. I know where every supervillain in Middleton is holed up," he said, setting off and beckoning for them to follow.
"Do you now?" Jack replied, frowning a bit. He wasn't sure how he felt about that one.
"I'm a big boy, Jack! I can handle myself!" Will insisted. "Just come on already." Jack shook his head hopelessly but nonetheless followed along with the others. Betty gave his arm a reassuring squeeze as she came up alongside him, and he relaxed a little.
Meanwhile
"Seriously gnarly Dudettes!" Motor Ed crooned, shooting a cannon blaster at a hoard that was trying to surround him, DNAmy, and Adrena Lynn. They were all currently perched on top of a tank at one of HenchCo's villain expos. He looked over at Adrena. "Babe, you totally rock those pistols!"
"I know. Now let's get freaky!" Adrena replied, attacking multiple zombies with her duel-wielded pistols.
"Stop it! Bad children! You're behaving like teenagers! This is a baddy bad, bad situation," DNAmy insisted, throwing down her Buddy Balls and summoning her cuddle babies to protect herself and her two companions. Honestly, though, she didn't know what else she'd expected from the duo that was Motor Ed and Adrena Lynn. When those two got together, it was a disaster. They made her look mature. Making matters worse was the onslaught of zombies converging all around them. They'd been holding them off for quite a while now and at this point were running low on ammunition. Worse yet, her Cuddle Babies were getting tired, and they were the most reliable form of protection they had at the moment.
"Hey, babe, at least we die together," Ed said to Adrena, grabbing her around the waist and spinning her around. She shrieked with laughter, shooting up everything that moved. He did too, and the duo ended the rampage with a steamy kiss.
"Ed, Adrena, honestly! You're not Bonnie and Clyde," Amy testily bit. Humph, they were acting like inebriated teenagers.
"Dying in a shootout against a zombie hoard. What an extreme way to go!" Adrena cheered. Amy was fairly certain they both had borderline personality disorders of some sort. At least Adrena if not Ed.
"This isn't a shootout! It's an apocalypse!" Amy insisted. "Motor Ed, Adrena, we need to get out of here ASAP or we're going to be zombie nummies!"
"Embrace impending doom, lady. It's all we've got now," Ed replied, frowning at her. All of a sudden a wave of energy of some kind tore through the hoards and sent them all flying away from the tank and the three trapped villains! Amy, Adrena, and Ed gasped in shock, looking after the flying zombies. "Whoa..." Ed said.
"Freaky," Adrena agreed, blinking in surprise.
Amy gasped. "Look!" she exclaimed, pointing. Adrena and Ed quickly turned, and their jaws dropped. There, standing in the doorway of the expo, were Jack, Gemini, Falsetto, Camille, and two agents of Global Justice! The young male agent was crouched down in front of the others, a tiny weapon of some sort aimed at the hoards. Clearly, it had been the source of the energy wave, but no one was going to question it. Given Hench's presence, odds were it was probably one of his prototypes.
"Jackie, you saved us!" Amy exclaimed, hurrying to get off the tank and racing towards them. Adrena and Eddie followed quickly.
"It seems we arrived just in time," Jack replied as the trio of villains joined their party.
"And the sooner we get out of here the better. We're almost right in the heard of Middleton!" the GJ agent, the younger one, stated, standing up.
"Whoa, what's with the agents, Henchman dude? Seriously?" Motor Ed demanded, frowning warily at Will and Betty.
"There's no time to explain. We have to go. It's getting worse the further we go. We can't push on anymore. We have to get back to the airport and get off the ground!" the female GJ agent said. "At least we found DNAmy."
"Found me?" Amy asked, confused.
"For once in my life, I agree with Dr. Director," Gemini said.
"Dr. Director?!" Amy exclaimed in shock. "The head of GJ?!"
"My little twin sister and arch-foe," Gemini bitterly said, glaring at his sibling. Amy gasped in shock, as did Adrena and Eddie.
"Ooh, Adrena. You look totally rocking with those pistols," Camille said to her friend, offering a high-five.
"Don't I though?" Adrena replied with a grin, returning said high-five. "Dare-devilling has nothing on this! Well, maybe sometimes."
"Enough talk, dudes and dudettes, let's get a move on like the pirate lady says," Ed said.
"Pirate lady?!" Dr. Director demanded, clearly offended.
Eddie, totally ignoring her, frowned down at Will who happened to be like, half his side. "Dudes, seriously, who's the shrimp?" he asked, jerking a thumb at the boy.
"Shrimp?!" Will demanded, offended. "I'll have you know I'm trained by some of the best combat experts GJ and HenchCo, have to offer!"
Motor Ed grabbed him by the throat, lifting him into the air. Will choked, trying to breathe. "Don't seem so tough to me. Seriously," Ed said.
"Okay, getting back to business here," Jack said, putting his hands on Ed's arm and lowering it firmly so Will was back on the ground. Ed let go of the boy, who staggered back gasping and rubbing his sore throat. Betty pulled her son away from Drakken's cousin, giving the man a dirty look.
"I'm fine, he just caught me by surprise," Will said to his mother, voice a bit scratchy.
"Son, you really need to work on your overall judgment," Hench said.
"I'm not your son!" Will insisted.
"Wait, I'm confused, who is he then?" Ed asked.
"He is my son. By Dr. Director," Jack replied.
Ed and Adrena's gasped. Amy practically squealed. "Ooh, Henchie, this was why you claimed you and Tiffany weren't official? This is why you said you could do better?! Oh, I've got tingles all over!" Amy gushed.
"Tiffany? Who's Tiffany?!" Dr. Director demanded.
Jack winced hard and grimaced, turning to her. She was understandably peeved. "Honey, she's just an assistant," he assured, putting up his hands in a pacifying gesture.
"She helps Mr. Hench with all his showcases, giving him the eyes in that sexy little blue dress of hers," Adrena said immediately, eyes sparkling with malicious mischief and a wicked smirk crossing her lips. Betty scowled warningly at her husband, arms crossing.
"Unrequited crush!" Jack immediately said, putting on that suave grin of his and casually wrapping an arm around her waist. "Sweetheart, you know you're the only woman for me."
"Make sure it stays that way," she testily bit.
"So the shrimp's your kid by the MI..." Ed began.
"Eddie," Jack warned, giving the man a dark look. Ed immediately shut up, biting his tongue.
"Estranged son for now," Gemini explained
"Try forever!" Will insisted.
"As much as I'd love to sit here watching all this drama unfold, we need to get moving. The hoard is getting up again," Falsetto cut in, pointing.
"Right. Let's go," Will said, turning and storming out in agitation. The others blinked after him, then shrugged and followed.
Betty glared up at Jack, whose arm was still wrapped around her, with eyes narrowed. "Don't think you're off the hook. We're talking about this Tiffany later." She plucked his arm off her person, harrumphed, and marched out. Jack grimaced. Oh boy, it was one thing after another, wasn't it? Sighing, he took up the tail end of the group.
One Hour Later
The villains, Jack, Betty, and Will raced through the airfield beelining for the nearest jet. "We should take my jet. It's the fastest and most versatile," Falsetto said.
"Well mine is the most convenient and reliable," Gemini argued.
"Stop!" Will suddenly shouted, throwing out his arms. They all slid to a stop just as a purple car screeched to a stop and another group piled out. Will's eyes widened. "Is that...?" he began.
"Kim Possible!" Betty exclaimed in relief. "Kim! Kim!"
Kim gasped, looking quickly over. Her eyes widened. "Dr. Director? Will Du?" she said in surprise.
"Oh no, they're surrounded by evil!" Ron exclaimed, pointing.
"Then let's get ready to rumble and get them out of there!" Felix determinedly said. He had no idea who Dr. Director or Will Du were, though Will looked kind of familiar, but if they were friends of Kim's, their being surrounded by her foes couldn't be a good sign.
Betty's eyes widened in some concern when she realized the heroes' intent. "Wait!" she blurted. "Miss Possible, everything is alright. It's all under control. We have a truce."
"A truce? With your brother?" Kim asked in shock.
"Among others, yes," Dr. Director said.
"It isn't as if we have much of a choice," Will said, stepping forward to stand at his mother's side. "Good evening, Miss Possible. Uh, I mean Kim. It's been some time."
"Dude, it's been years! You're actually here!" Ron exclaimed.
"In the flesh," Will replied, smirking a bit and bowing.
"Aww, that sounded just like daddy Hench," Adrena put in. Will paled, stiffening up with eyes wide. Oh no. No, no, no.
"Wait, wait, wait, daddy Hench? What does that even mean?" Kim asked.
"Nothing! It means nothing!" Will immediately said. The last thing he needed was for Kim and Ron to know his parentage!
"Stand down, Agent Du, it would have come out eventually," Betty said.
"But Dr. Director…" Will began.
"Stand down, agent," Betty warned. Will swallowed and bowed his head ashamedly.
"Kim, Ron, company, there's something you need to know about Will and me," Betty said, rubbing her arm sheepishly.
"You're dating?!" Ron exclaimed.
"What?!" Will freaked, appalled at the insinuation. Jack looked stunned. Betty was gaping at Ron, flabbergasted. Alright, so maybe she could have phrased that better, but seriously?
"I mean it could happen. What with all the weird stuff that's been going on," Ron awkwardly said.
"She's my mom!" Will blurted, insulted too deeply to bother beating around the bush or being nervous anymore. Kim and Ron's jaws dropped. Will winced a little, immediately regretting his brazenness.
"No wonder he looks so much like you," Mrs. Renton spoke up, smiling at Dr. Director.
"Oh, well thank you," Dr. Director replied, pleased by this.
Kim shook her head, snapping out of it. "Wait, wait, I'm sorry, what?" she demanded.
"Dr. Director is…" Will began. He sighed in defeat. "She's my mother."
"But then that would mean that Gemini's his uncle! KP, Will is related to a villain!" Ron exclaimed in horror.
"Wait, you're married? Who's the father?" Kim demanded. She'd always figured that Dr. Director had no time for things like that and that even if she had, her standards would have been impossibly high.
"That would be me. Hence Amy's 'daddy Hench' crack," Jack stated, stepping forward with an amused smirk and wrapping an arm around Dr. Director's waist. She gave him a sharp, reproachful look, warning him off. Kim, Ron, and Rufus's jaws dropped all over again. They could do precious little more than gape at this point.
"That is sick and wrong," Ron finally managed to squeak.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, time out. Will Du is actually Will Hench? Will, Jack, Dr. Director, Gemini?" Kim stammered in shock.
"How else did you think he could have afforded all those private tutors?" Jack asked.
"Oh my. Tutors? Dear, did you have a hard time in school, dear?" Mrs. Renton sympathetically asked.
"They were not because I was remedial!" Will insisted. "I speak fourteen different languages and thirty-two regional dialects. I possess the ability to understand the paper of a neurosurgeon and appreciate it! My grades averaged A+ all through my education career! Need I go on?"
"Sheesh. Brag much?" Tara asked.
"Ugh, let's just get out of here! We should be focusing on what's happening with the zombies, not on me," Will insisted.
"Hold on a minute. How did you all meet up with each another?" Ron asked.
"It's a long story that started when I infiltrated Gemini's base and found it overrun. Gemini was the only one still uninfected, but he had been bitten," Dr. Director solemnly said.
"He's infected?!" Kim asked, eyes wide.
"But not turned. Not yet," Gemini confirmed, patting Pepe's head when the little Chihuahua peeked out curiously. Will blinked at the dog and smiled, patting it. Pepe panted and wagged his tail happily before licking Will's hand.
"And if we have our way, he won't turn at all before a cure is found," Jack added.
"Oh my. This is so much to take in," Mrs. Renton said, looking a bit stressed.
"I'm sorry, what was your name?" Dr. Director asked.
"Oh, I'm Dr. Miriam Renton. Felix's mother," the woman said, putting her hands gently on her son's shoulders and squeezing them. Felix smiled up at her.
"Ooh, another scientist! Goody. Our odds just went up!" Amy cheered, clapping.
"Odds?" Mrs. Renton asked.
"Yes, to help try and fix this," Amy said.
"My field is cybernetics and robotics. I'm not sure how helpful I'll be to you," she said in concern.
"You can try at least. Sometimes that's all it takes," Amy said positively.
"When this truce is over, little man, your chair is mine!" Motor Ed said, glaring coldly at Felix.
Felix frowned at him. "Bite me, Motor Ed," he replied. "You're not getting my chair."
"Oh yeah? Just wait and see!" Motor Ed replied.
"We should take my jet and find somewhere safe," Gemini said, turning to Falsetto with a frown.
"We're taking mine," Falsetto replied, frowning right back.
"Everyone, onto my private jet," Jack cut in, giving them both an unimpressed frown as he pulled out a remote and pressed a button.
"Your what?" Ned asked. Just then they heard a jet engine kick in and gasped, looking quickly over in time to see it rising from a hangar and flying over to them before hovering and lowering to the ground. The Cheer Squad all gaped at it in shock say for Kim, Ron, and Rufus.
KP
Once everyone had been caught up on the events that had been happening, the unlikely group sat in awkward silence on Hench's jet. Finally, DNAmy broke that silence. "Has anyone given a thought to where we're going to go?"
They all winced a bit and exchanged looks. In all honesty, not really. Kim turned back to Amy. "Bonnie suggested Senior's island, but I'm hoping for somewhere a bit nearer than that. The closer we are to the epicenter, the more likely it is we can fix this," she said.
"So then retreat to Dr. Drakken and Shego's lair. Isn't their usual base on a cliff on some tiny island off the coast?" Will asked. "They probably don't even have a clue what's happening right now. There's a chance that in the face of this, and in the presence of all these other villains, they'll open their doors to us."
"Our arch-enemies? Ooh, doubt it WD," Ron replied.
Will frowned at him. "Will," he bluntly said. "Look, they're not going to have much of a choice. Not when we're stuck with so many of their allies."
"Ugh, Dr. Drakken," Hench disdainfully said, grimacing.
"Oh yes, that's right. He and his Queen of Thieves are a constant blight upon your wallet, aren't they Hench?" Falsetto somewhat mockingly said, smirking at the man.
Hench frowned at him. "And they regret it each and every time," he replied.
"Oh sugar booger, would it really hurt to let one go every once in a while?" Amy asked.
"Sugar Booger?" Betty incredulously asked the woman.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I know he's your husband," Amy replied. Betty raised an eyebrow. That wasn't exactly what she'd meant.
"Hardly deserving of the title I should think," Will grumbled.
"Will," Betty warned, frowning at her son. Will harrumphed, crossing his arms and looking away.
"Shouldn't we take a survivor toll while we're all up here and safe?" Jack asked, refocusing their attention.
"On it," Josh replied. He rose and began to take stock, so to speak. "Let's see. Human wise we have Mr. Hench, Gemini, Will, Dr. Director, Dr. Renton, Camille, Mr. Jones, Motor Ed, Adrena, DNAmy, Kim, Ron, Monique, Amelia, Bonnie, Tara, me, Felix, Zita, Justine, Ned, and Hana. Twenty-two survivors. Counting the pets, there's Rufus, Debutante, Pepe, and the two wolfhounds, so five in all. Put them together and it's twenty-seven survivors so far so hey, not a bad start."
"Twenty-nine if Drakken and Shego are still okay. Thirty if Drakken's mother is okay, and even more if the henchmen are uninfected," Kim said. "So our odds are looking pretty good right now, right?"
"Us against the world? Oh yeah, some odds, Kim," Bonnie sarcastically replied, crossing her arms.
Jack pressed a button, lowering a screen. "We should be at Drakken's lair in about five minutes. As previously discussed, we can make camp there. Then we…"
"Whoa, who put you in charge, little man?" Ed asked.
Jack frowned, vaguely annoyed, and replied, "I hardly consider myself in charge, Mr. Lipsky. I'm simply stating a fact."
"I don't like your 'tude, dude. Seriously," Ed said. Jack tapped his fingers together, eyes cold. It was a sure sign he was getting agitated quickly, Betty knew. If Motor Ed didn't watch himself, things would get bad for him, and Jack wouldn't have to raise a finger.
"Enough! We can't start tearing into each other if this is going to work," Gemini interfered.
"Says the abomination at constant war with his fraternal twin sister?" Justine Flanner bit, now that they were all more or less updated on who each of these foes of Kim's were.
"You're pushing your luck, little girl," Gemini growled icily. "I have no patience for young people like you."
"Oh I'm so scared. As if you can risk losing me. I'm a scientist too," Justine replied matter-of-factly. "Besides, we heroes outnumber you villains. You'd do well to remember it."
KP
Jack leaned back in his seat, observing in silence. This was going to get interesting. Ignoring Motor Ed's comments, he watched as almost the whole plane got up in arms minus a couple of peacekeepers here and there trying to break the mess up, Betty being one of them and DNAmy and Mrs. Renton being two others. Hana and the pets were pretty well powerless to do anything. Betty shot Jack a pleading look. He sighed in annoyance and rose. "Enough!" he shouted loudly. Instantly everyone froze, looking at him in shock. "Sit down!" he bellowed, pointing down. Immediately they all obeyed, too taken aback to react beyond looking at him with wide eyes. Few of them had ever even heard Jack yell, let alone lose his temper. Jack glared around at them all, eyes flashing darkly. "Look at this, we're already falling apart and we can't afford that! Get your heads in the game. We need order, we need teamwork, and if we lack either we're as good as dead here."
"He'd get along well with Barkin," Ron whispered to Kim.
"Are you kidding? They wouldn't be able to stand each other," she whispered back.
"What would you suggest then, old man?" Will demanded.
"I would suggest a leader for one, except when one person alone takes the lead, there's sure to be rebellion. Frankly, I'm not sure what will work best for us at this stage. Respect is key, and communication is tied with it. We can't be biting each others' heads off," he replied. They were all quiet, looking ashamedly at the ground. "Now focus. We're approaching Drakken's lair." He sat once more and no one dared speak another word for a good long while.
