Ah! :) thanks 4 your reviews minna!
CrimsonButterfly0026: Haha! Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed the story so far! I really thought my stories would go under hill because of my overly cliché plot, so yeah. I doubt myself every now or then.
Mockingtale: r-really? I always thought my fighting scenes are over the top, and they aren't that good. But thanks! And for your info, my friend = It IS a video game LOL! The fights are based off from the intro of DW from the 1-current.
I just love their intro, especially the battle of Changban. That's my favorite! And another thing, Xu Shu's mom is actually canon. She's just not mentioned during the game and Cao Cao really did that in the past. Poor Xu Shu, and I can't help but add a little music. His own theme song: Find My Place and placing Huang Gai's epic jump on DW7. That's awesome dude, just epicness filled the air
Notes:
Everyone's story will have the hypo, even Wei. Cuz Wei was always portrayed as the bad guys, DW7 showed that they're more than that so yep. Hopefully I can mix everything together with the previous timeline and my own plot
Off topic but dynasty related: Lu Lingqi! I'm so gonna make a story for her, Lu Bu being all fatherly and Diao Chan being motherly even though she's not the true mom but still... I'm having a hard time imagining Lu Bu being like that... O_o
Last chapter is the Shu/Wu version of the fights, this time is the Wei's fights. Like for example when they attack the altar, the star in Shu/Wu was Zhao Yun but she/he was facing off a different opponent. This time, will be a from a Wei character's point of view. I hope I'm not too confusing
Also, Guo Jia may be out of character. Hey, he felt something was wrong with the battle and couldn't help but worry about it so that's why he might be OOC
New characters will be in their respective outfits!
Hopefully this chapter is longer than the ones before, and funnier! As an appreciation for your guys! :) 2900 something... It only increased 300 words! D:
Chapter 5: Battle of Chibi and a Soldier's Defection! (Wei Part 1)
"Everything should be set, My Lord" said Guo Jia, one of Cao Cao's famed strategist. The old war hawk nodded as he watched the alliance of Sun Quan and Liu Bei, far away in the other side of the Yangtze River.
He felt victorious because of the size of their ships were too small, but that doesn't meant he underestimates them. No, he would never. Cao Cao was a man smarter than that. The battle with the Yuan Family proved that quality could defeat quantity
He must be on his guard during the battle, Guo Jia had been complaining that something doesn't feel right about the battle. And he knew, to trust his strategist more.
His son, Cao Pi was also present on the battlefield. Out of all his sons, Pi was his strongest asset. He took after him in more ways than one... Including having more than one wife, but compared to him he beats him 1:5.
"Father" his son said from behind, "I have a bad feeling about this battle, you should remain cautious or I may take the crown from you" he said, smirking. Cao Pi was always ambitious, even more so than himself. He was a unique boy, or should I say man now?
"Hmph, it will take more than that to scare me son" he chuckled, "But-" he continued, his face tensed dramatically, "We cannot underestimate them, remember the time at Guan Du?" Asked his son as he looked at him
Cao Pi nodded, "We were heavily outnumbered, but we emerged victorious. Is that what you are trying to say?" He asked. Cao Cao nodded, his was quite proud of his son. He was the most prominent of all his others, understanding war councils at the age of 13. Hah! The boy's a genius! He was truly proud with him
At the same time, Guo Jia was worried as he looked at the enemy ships. Something was wrong, he could feel it inside his stomach, "Is something the matter, Master Guo Jia?" Asked Zhang Liao, an elite offer of Cao Cao. The young strategist shrugged
"I think so, but I can't shake off the feeling of something really bad will happen shortly. I can't help but think that" he thought, he looked at the warriors as he said, "Master Zhang Liao, be cautious. Something tells me that they have a plan up their sleeves, but what?"
The warriors joined his hands and bowed before leaving him behind, Guo Jia looked at the enemy ships again before looking at their own, "The ships are linked together, to prevent sea sickness Pang Tong says" he wondered out loud until he realized something foolish
"A fire attack? But the winds will blow towards their direction, how on earth are they going to defeat us with a fire attack that... That backfired?"
The horns sounded, spreading across the wide field of battle. It echoes in the night, Guo Jia suddenly felt nervous. Like it was his first battle, 'Never mind that for now, a battle has started and I need to concentrate' he thought as he raced down towards the front-lines until he saw a... Unique sight unfolding in front of him.
He quickly hid behind one of the poles as he eavesdropped on the newest recruit, Pang Tong was talking to one of Liu Bei's subordinates. A private actually, "Tell Liu Bei that the soldiers of Wei are naïve as ever, they didn't suspected a thing. Now hurry, before we were heard" he said to the private. The man bowed before running along back to his own side of the battlefield.
'I knew it... But what plan do they have?'Guo Jia thought as his eyes followed the soldier. His light brown orbs narrowed as the soldier was heading towards that suspicious looking altar on top of a cliff nearby, 'What are they doing up there? Praying?' He thought as he watched closer to see a man wearing a white robe was indeed praying there.
He thanked god that the boat was near enough to get him a closer view of the man, 'That is... Zhuge Liang? What is he doing?' He thought as he hastily but quietly made his retreat back to the camp
As soon as he got there, he looked for another strategist that might be able to help him. A man wearing a light, violet robe with a horse-tailed shape weapon stood watching the battle flow
"Master Sima Yi, I need your help" he said, approaching him. Sima Yi looked at his direction as he asked, "Oh? And what does the great Master Guo Jia wants to do with me?"
The young strategist asked him, "Do you know a man named Zhuge Liang?" The new strategist perked his ears up as he nodded, "It was said that he could match my intelligence, I wish to see it for myself. Are asking me to fight him?" He asked.
Guo Jia shrugged, "I hope so, because for now my lord, I have heard that this Zhuge Liang had the intelligence of a thousand scholars. You also know of my illness, and if I send a warrior without someone there to back him up there, they might be outwitted and outnumbered" he said to him.
Sima Yi thought about it, it was true that he was growing weak because of his illness. They didn't found a cure yet but hopefully they could before the next battle
"Very well then, where is he?" He asked. Guo Jia pointed to an altar on top of a cliff, Sima Yi looked at him like he had a second head or something, "He's in that altar, I don't know what he's doing but I know that he's praying there. I wish to stop that prayer before something happens, surely as a fellow strategist you have a bad feeling right?" He asked him
The new strategist couldn't help but nod, something awfully eerie was illuminating the battlefield from that single altar. He nodded before saying, "Right then, I'll go there myself to stop the prayer. I'll take Yue Jin, Li Dian and Yu Jin with me" Guo Jia thanked him as if he was relieved, "Thank you, my lord" before leaving somewhere else to see for his business
Insert DW7 OST - Kid around Ska -(Author's note: one of the weirdest songs I've heard in DW)
He then looked at a private nearby as he sighed, he walked towards him, "Oi! Wake up!" He yelled to the private who was sleeping while standing up, the man jolted up and held his right hand in salute as he said, "Yessir!"
"Go get me Yue Jin, Li Dian and Yu Jin. While you're at it, go prepare me a boat and make it quick" the soldier saluted him once more before running off the opposite direction, which is the wrong way
"The officers and the free boats are the other way" he said. The private came back and began running the opposite way, looking embarrassed as he saluted him once more before disappearing into the other ship.
He sighed before looking closely at the altar, it seemed to far away but it was enough to let him see it was heavily guarded by Liu Bei's and Sun Quan's troops, 'Now that's strange... If the altar is heavily guarded then that means it has a very significant role in this battle' he curiously thought
He heard footsteps from behind as he looked to see the summoned officers behind him. Yue Jin, the shortest of the 3 but he's the perfect example of "don't judge a book by its cover" for he may be small, he's stronger than he looked.
Li Dian, a calm individual and has a very sharp "eagle eye" as he liked to call it. He had this unique mind that could make him predict what would happen to something.
And lastly Yu Jin, he doesn't know much about the man because the strategist was a new recruit and didn't know people well enough
"Master Sima Yi, you rang?" Yue Jin said. He nodded, "Yes, I rang the 3 of you to help me attack that altar over there" he said as he pointed to the altar on the cliff, Li Dian saw it and felt a twist in his stomach, "I have a bad feeling about that altar, maybe it's best if we go and stop whatever they're doing there" he said
Sima Yi nodded again, "That was what Master Guo Jia was saying as well, I also have this feeling that something much worse will come to us if we don't stop the prayer"
Yu Jin raised his hand, "Prayer, my lord?" He asked, "That's correct, it would seemed that Zhuge Liang is prayer for something there. That is why I need you to help me, it's heavily guarded as if it has the commander there but they don't" he reasoned
"Ah, I see. We must advance swiftly then, come my lords" Yu Jin said to the groups of 4, everyone nodded in agreement as the soldier from before appeared behind and bowed to them, "The boat you asked is waiting, sir!" Yue Jin whistled playfully, "Speak of the devil, we were just thinking on leaving soon" he chuckled as the soldier showed them the way to the ship
It was small, but enough to fit in the four of them. The only problem they have now is that they were missing the most important thing to them and it was not the rows, "Why is it so small?" Yu Jin asked as a tick appeared on Yue Jin's
Li Dian then asked, "And where's the ladder? You're not expecting us to actually reach land then climb up all the way to the tip of the cliff, right?" He asked to the soldier who widened his eyes before yelling, "I QUIT!" Before using the small boat to reach shore
All 4 officers could only stare in amusement as the boat went away slowly, "What just happened?" Li Dian asked suddenly causing the 3 others to look at him, it was Yu Jin who answered him
"He retired early it seemed" Sima Yi could only stare in disbelieve on how calm they acted and didn't do anything to the soldier who retired early
"You imbeciles!" They jolted as they hear him roared, "He would defect to Liu Bei and told him to strengthen the defenses of the altar! Where's an archer if you need one? You soldier!" He yelled to a nearby soldier who was carrying supplies to he main camp, "Yes sir!" He said
Sima Yi looked at the run away soldier to see it has gone to far out of archer range, he sighed, "Prepare me a boat, with a really tall ladder. At least until it could reach the top of the cliff there"
He pointed to the altar cliff, the supplier looked at the direction he was pointing and nodded, "Yessir!" Before disappearing again to the main camp before going to look for a boat... Again
Meanwhile, with the neutral side...
"Ugly Yu Jin-" he rowed once, "Annoying Li Dian-" he rowed twice, "Uncool Yu Jin-" he rowed with the oars for the trice time, "Stupid Sima Yi! Curse Wei!" He swore to the heavens as he rowed again, "Why did I even bothered joining the army anyway?" He wondered to himself as he remembered why
Flashback
"Hear ye, hear ye! Lord Cao Cao has put up a recruitment document for each and one of you! All males are requested to join!" Said the messenger as he hit the mini gong he was carrying before saying the same phrase over and over again
"Gege (old bro)! We should join the army!" Said a man with brown hair, the older brother who has black hair sighed, "No thanks, I don't wanna die out there. It's too dangerous" he said
The younger brother pouted before protesting, "But we'll be heroes of the land! Think about the wine, the fame! And most importantly... Women" the older brother perked up as he heard the word women.
It was true that he had been looking for one for the past... 3 years or so, hey the guy's desperate ok? And all he wanted was to settle down with one and have a family with her, but thinking about how the emperor has a lot of concubines... "I'm in!"
End of Flashback
"Oh yeah... That's why" he thought as he rowed for the last time only to fell backwards because he had reached land, and founded a sword right above him, "Hiiiii!" , "State your business here, soldier of Wei!" Said a lieutenant of a man in green
"Hold, men. I'll handle this" he said as the man held his sword near him. The green officer then went to the soldier as he asked, "Tell me, what are you doing leaving away your post?"
The soldier seemed to have ignored him as he raised his arms high up in the air and yelled out, "I SURRENDER!" The man sweat dropped as the soldier began to yell out words that meant "surrender".
He sighed before trying to calm him down, "It's alright! No one is going to hurt you as long as you tell us what you're doing out of your post!"
The soldier seemed to stop yelling for a while before saying, "Oh! That's easy, I quit being a soldier" the officer seemed surprised as he eyes the odd soldier
He asked, "Why did you quit? Did something happen?" The black haired soldier nodded as he started rambling about how he quitted being a soldier of Wei, "It all started when..."
30 minutes later of nonstop talking on how he quitted Wei with the green officers' unit's fell asleep later...
"... Then I used the boat to get away from those bastards from Wei, so here I am" he said. The officer nodded in understatement, it would seemed that he was badly treated in Wei.
He asked, "Then why don't you join me? We'll treat you as one of us, there is no distinction between my officers and I. We are just one big family" he said
The soldier was considering his options. Being treated like a ragged fool in Wei or being treated like a king with the officer. He liked the idea, but that meant that he was betraying his younger brother.
He also wanted the war to end, maybe after the fighting was done he'll go back to him, "Yes, lord" he said as he bowed to him, the officer smiled to him, "Good, then what is your name?" He asked. The soldier perked up
In Cao Cao's forces, he was never asked or called by his name. It would just be "you, soldier!" or something similar. The man was too kind to be true, "I am called Shuang Shizi (double cross)" he said, "Well, Shizi. My name is Liu Bei and I would be happy to recruit you as one of our family"
Cliffhanger! Again...
I think it's long enough to satisfy you all, for now. And Shuang Shizi, he's an OC. Also, he's worst than Ling Tong! There was a reason why I called him Shuang Shizi you know ;)
Please review minna ! :) and thanks again who has reviewed! :D
Edit: Ah! I forgot to insert Ma Chao's story! I'm sorry!
