Umm, warning I guess. My stories do (I know, shocking) contain Clintasha and Stony. I guess I never mentioned it, but I know some people probably dislike one or both of those ships. However, I won't be writing directly about them. Also, excuse my aweful attempt at any kind of Russian. If I got something wrong, just shoot me a message. Alright, enjoy the chapter, dudes. 8D
Thor yet again wasn't sure if going to this charity event was a good idea. He had made small talk with one of Tony's younger cousins, a beautiful and slender brunette who never seemed to stop smiling. Yet as much as she smiled, he found he could not. Thor knew there was someone who he would rather be talking to, someone who hated him for all he knew. Now that he had excused himself from his friend's cousin, he made his way to the bar, where Natasha and Clint had seated themselves. They were both laughing and the tall male figured the couple to be drunk or close to it. His suspicions were confirmed when female of the duo noticed him and waved him over.
"Idi sûda!" Natasha called, the Russian words confusing Thor as he walked over to them with a sigh.
"Nat, he doesn't even know Russian." Clint laughed, punching his fiancé in the arm playfully, to which Natasha gasped.
"Ah! Sorry, blondie!" the redhead said to Thor as he sat next to her in the empty seat. "I said come here. I guess you did anyway." she giggled, taking a sip of her Apple Martini. The tallest in the trio gave the others a dead panned expression after ordering a Cable Car*.
"It's only been twenty minutes since the event started, you guys. I can't believe you are both drunk already."
"So what?" the other male grinned. "For charity!" Clint laughed, clinking glasses with his future wife.
"Amen, moy sladkiy," Natasha smirked, looking at Thor and hiccuping. "Um, that means-"
"I don't need to know, Nat," Thor held up a hand in protest. "You two should take it easy. Maybe get something to eat."
"I think we can take care of ourselves, mom," Clint chirped, taking another drink of his beer. "Just kidding, love ya man. We gotta get drunk to deal with these rich people. I literally can't handle them talking about the boats they bought and then proceeding to ask me if I got one… Dude, I fucking live in the middle class neighbourhood. Of course I don't!" to this, Thor shook his head and then watched Natasha hiccup again.
"Okay, but no more Apple Martinis for Lindsay Lohan over here." Thor said pointedly as the female in question leaned her head onto her friend's shoulder. The shorter male watched her, and then looked back up at Thor.
"I think you might be right." Clint muttered as Natasha held onto their co-worker. Thor opened his mouth to say something, but became distracted by the bartender placing his drink on the counter in front of him. It looked amazing, besides the fact that it was not the Cable Car he had ordered.
"Umm, excuse me, this isn't the drink I ordered…"
"I'm making that now sir," said the young female bartender. "This is from the couple at the end of the bar." she smiled, tiredness evident around her deep blue eyes.
"What?" Thor muttered, looking down the bar, Natasha and Clint doing the same. The three sets of eyes landed on two dark haired people, known to Thor as the twins Lekný and Loki. His eyes widened and an erratic heart beat began pounding in the male's ears. The female gave a wave and a smile, both coy as ever, while the male gave a look of utter indifference.
"Hey, look at that." Clint smiled, elbowing the shocked Thor.
"Awe, that's so great," Natasha cooed while watching the female next to Loki slip off of her chair elegantly. "He came."
"That's so cute." her fiancé laughed as Loki followed after the female look-a-like that neither he nor Natasha knew. Thor bit his lip and looked at his friends, and then towards Lekný and Loki who were making their way towards the trio.
"What do I say!?" Thor asked the two frantically, blue eyes never leaving the twins.
"Dude, you got this." the other male grinned. Natasha smiled and took another sip of her half-finished Martini and nodded.
"Get some, Odinson." she smiled, clinking glasses with her lover in agreement. Thor looked at them, ready to retort when the two dark haired adults stopped in front of the three.
"Good evening, Thor." Lekný purred, the tallest in the group snapping his head to look back at the twins.
"Um, hello, Lekný," Thor smiled, his eyes shifting to look directly at the male of the duo. "Hey Loki."
"Good evening, Thor." Loki replied softly, green eyes trained on the blond. Lekný coughed and smiled, looking at the drunk male and female beside Thor.
"I don't believe we've been introduced. My name is Lekný, Loki's more beautiful twin sister." she smiled, earning a glare from her brother. Natasha laughed uneasily and seemed to sober up from the tension between her friend and his love interest.
"I'm Natasha Romanoff and this is my lovely fiancé Clint Barton," the redhead gestured, a more sober Clint waving at the woman when she mentioned him. "Nice to meet you, Lekný."
"We were just about to get something to eat, actually… You should come." Clint said to Lekný as he slid off of his chair, Natasha cluing in and jumping off her bar stool. Lekný's eyes brightened up and she nodded enthusiastically.
"I would love to! Have fun, brother!" the female of the two grinned and pulled her new found friends off away from Thor and Loki. The two men turned and watched the three leave, Loki frowning and Thor smiling nervously as they turned back towards each other.
"Listen, I didn't mean-" Thor began as Loki sat next to him swiftly, placing his glass of red wine on the counter of the bar.
"I know," the younger of the two interrupted, looking at the other male carefully. "I took it the wrong way, Thor. For that, I am sorry." to this, Thor sighed and looked at the drink he had not ordered.
"I'm sorry I let you leave. I should've run after you. I mean, I could have. No reason I couldn't," the taller of them smiled slightly. "Um, thanks for the drink. I really don't know what it is though." Thor laughed then. Loki raised an eyebrow and shook his head, taking a sip of wine before answering.
"You are most welcome. You have never tried an Alabama Slammer? You poor thing." Loki mused. Thor stared at the pink-red drink and shrugged.
"Looks kind of girly."
"I will have you know it is delicious," the younger of them retorted. "Try it." to this, Thor smiled, looking at the dark haired male.
"What is it made of?"
"Amaretto, gin, Southern Comfort and orange juice," Loki answered, watching Thor blink before taking a drink of the strange concoction. When the smile remained on the older man's face, the former business man gave him a smug smile. "Do you like it?" he asked although he knew the answer.
"It's okay," Thor rolled his eyes, and then sighed softly. "How have you been?"
"It has only been about a week."
"A lot can happen in a week!" Thor defended as he took another sip of the now-trusted drink.
"I suppose. However, there is not much to do when one does not have a job. I did miss my jogging partner." Loki replied, unable to the look the bigger man in the eyes. A sad smile made its way onto Thor's face as he placed his drink down and looked at the smaller male.
"I missed you too. Jane isn't as good of a jogging partner as you." Thor agreed, finally earning Loki's stare.
"Really? She seems rather entertaining."
"She is, don't get me wrong!" Thor laughed. "She's not you though." to this, Loki opened his mouth, but no words would come out. Finally, his brain kicked into gear and he smiled ever so slightly.
"Thank you… You are far too nice." was what came out. Surely his mother would slap him for showing such a lack of sentiment.
"I think we've been through this before, Loki." Thor explained, becoming confused when Loki's attention snapped away, looking behind them. The older of them followed his gaze, turning his head to see Steve making his way towards them, an exasperated look on the blond's features. The two turned around to face their mutual friend and gave curious looks to him. Steve looked at the two and smiled then, his emotions changing completely.
"Loki! You came! That's so great!" he cheered while looking at Loki, and then frowning when his gaze turned to the other male in front of him. "You have got to save me from this." Thor's co-worker groaned.
"Tony isn't that bad of date, Steve." the tallest in the trio sighed, earning a snort from the dark haired male.
"Doubtful." Loki said smugly, taking a sip of his wine. Steve ran a hand through his neat hair, fixing it afterwards.
"I don't think he's a bad date, Thor. I just can't handle his friends. I'm nothing like them!" the newcomer to the small group explained, stress evident in his tone. "They talk about their million-dollar salaries and where they went for vacation this year. When they asked about me I said I was still working off my student debt and hadn't had a vacation in five years!" to this, Thor and Loki exchanged glances before looking back at Steve.
"So what? I'm positive they didn't care about your past." the bearded man sighed.
"The women in the group said 'Poor thing' and cooed. They proceeded to ask Tony about how he came across me!"
"Like a stray." Loki chided, a sigh resulting from Thor.
"Loki." the oldest in the trio stressed, earning a zipping motion across said male's lips.
"No! He's right. They think Tony took pity on me or something. The way they asked about me to him. Ugh, this is why I keep away from these things. I just get all bothered."
"Bothered? Listen, Steve. Don't listen to them, just have a good time. Most of the people here aren't so bad. Sure Tony has some obnoxious friends, but he's genuinely interested in you, not trying to play a sympathy card." Thor explained.
"Regardless. Tony Stark is obnoxious, therefore… If you can handle Stark, you can surely handle them." Loki piped in, smirking when the blond beside him pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Sure, why not? Steve, it'll be fine." Thor smiled then, watching Loki finish off his wine and quickly ordering another as the bartender set Thor's originally ordered drink down.
"So you made it, Loki." a not so thrilled voice said from behind the trio. Steve turned around, Loki and Thor both knowing the owner of voice to be Tony. The dark haired male smirked and straightened his posture before replying.
"And here I thought we had called a momentary truce."
"Yeah, that was only against Thanos. Sorry, kiddo," Tony waved his hand in the air. Loki opened his mouth to retort something awful, but the older male continued on. "Anyway. Since Thor has his lovely date now, can I please have mine back?" to this, Thor looked at Steve only to see the worry wiped off his face. As if the younger male came to an epiphany of sorts.
"Fair enough. Just defend my middle class honour this time, okay?" Steve asked, smiling as he joined the slightly drunk billionaire once again.
"Scouts honour, my man," Tony winked, looking back at the two men; one a friend, the other an enemy. "Nice chat. Enjoy, Thor." the oldest of the men waggled his eyebrows before he turned on his heel and walked off. Steve looked at the two in front of him and waved, following his date quickly.
"Wait... He was so stressed out a minute ago. Mind filling me in on that one?" Thor asked. Loki looked towards the blond haired male and shrugged.
"He did it many times in high school. Steve tends to forget his troubles to make others happy. I think it is a problem really. To only care for others and never yourself." the younger of them snorted.
"I see," Thor mused after taking a drink of his Cable Car. "It'll be interesting to see what happens between him and Tony." Loki nodded in agreement before resting his chin on folded hands.
"Speaking of Tony... I am going to see more of that man, am I not?" Loki asked Thor as they both turned back around to face the bar. Fixing his hair back into a bun, the older of the duo chuckled.
"Most likely." Thor replied while watching the dark haired male receive his drink. Sighing, green eyes shifted towards the blond before going back to the drink placed in front of him.
"I am going to need many drinks then."
"Yet again… Most likely."
