Disc.: My plot.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Lily was alone in the apartment for the moment. Scorpius was supposed to have come home over an hour ago to take Lily to see Gentry. He had hit a mile stone, according to Damon, but Damon hadn't elaborated. He wanted to show Lily in person. Scorpius promised that he'd come home as soon as his meeting was done, but no later than lunch time. It was nearly dinner time, and Lily was getting antsy.

Lily decided that she'd waited long enough and that if she wanted to go see her baby, she would. It had been six weeks, her stitches had long been healed and anyways, she had a bag of milk to deliver to the healers to feed Gentry when she wasn't there. She dressed, grabbed her cooler bag, and headed down the stairs, two at a time. The need to cuddle her baby and feed him propelled her out of the building and to the nearest apparation point.

She landed in the lobby of St. Mungo's and headed up the stairs, waving at the guard that sat at the desk and the nurses that she'd seen every day of the last six weeks. She climbed on the lift, imagining her sweet baby boy. He was chunking up nicely and most of his hair had fallen out. She didn't mind a balding baby. He was still gorgeous, bald or not. He had Lily's blue eyes, but Damon's tan coloring. His features were softer than Damon's but still looked so much like Damon the DNA test hadn't been necessary. Lily had insisted, though.

She headed to the hall where the large plate glass showed the tiny babies in their cribs and isolettes. Lily was already grinning when she looked at the pulled curtain, knowing Damon had taken to keeping it closed to keep their baby away from prying eyes, and so he could remain completely shirtless for as much as possible. Lily entered, washing her hands in the sink before heading back.

"Sorry I'm late," she called. "Scorpius was supposed to come home and he just didn't. I'm sure things are crazy as can be at work right now." Lily headed to the other side of the curtain and stopped short. Damon wasn't there, in the chair, cradling their newborn son shirtless and loving. The baby wasn't in his crib, either. Instead, the minister stood there, cradling the infant in his arms.

"I bet," the minister agreed, not looking up from the baby.

"Where's Damon?" Lily demanded.

"Shh, you'll wake the baby," the minister chided.

"Give me my son," Lily requested taking a step towards him.

"Ah-ah-ah, Lily, you know how dangerous it can be to cross me," the minister's words were cold, hard. He held his wand in his free hand, nearly knocking the baby in the head as he roughly stroked the baby's face. Gentry squirmed and let out a squeak.

"Please, please don't hurt him," Lily gasped.

"He's a beautiful boy," the minister continued on as if he didn't hear her. "I'm betting he'll be hungry soon and I'm sure that you're just ripe and ready."

"Sir," Lily's voice barely masked the disgust she felt for the man. She could be disgusted later.

"Sit down," he demanded. Lily sat in the oversized chair, out of shock rather than any curse. The minister held tight to the baby.

"Where is Gentry's wires and tubes?!" Lily's voice hitched up in a moment of panic.

"They were already removed when I got in here. Damon was called back by emergency," the minister's voice was light, though there was still something sinister there. "Apparently, they're calling for my impeachment over our sordid affair."

"Yeah," Lily nodded. She knew about that. He chuckled.

"Of course you would know that, being the wife of an Auror," the minister taunted. "Went and married without Draco's approval. I'm sure he was thrilled."

"Not initially," Lily admitted. She thought that maybe if she kept him talking, the others might get here. She'd do whatever it took to protect her son.

"He's come around, then?" the minister asked. Gentry stirred a little more, bringing is fist to his mouth. "How many of our memories have you unlocked?"

"Just the one," Lily admitted. Her body seemed to sense that the baby was near and needing to feed.

"Really? I'd think Draco would want to unlock them all. You know, he and I once were friends, almost best friends, even," the minister admitted.

"I didn't know that," Lily glanced to the baby. "Minister, he's going to start screaming soon. I should take him and feed him, and I'm sure you have better places to be than here. I won't keep you any longer, thank you for stopping by." Lily moved to stand but the minister flicked his wand and Lily fell back against the chair.

"Trying to get rid of me so soon?" the minister chided. "I'm spending time with my child."

"Gentry isn't your son," Lily countered angrily. "I had a test to make sure."

"No! Lies!" the minister bellowed at her. Lily startled and Gentry started to cry. Lily felt helpless, but still she held her arms out.

"He needs his mother, Obadiah," Lily crooned calmly. Minister Parker continued to hold him, though he had lowered his wand to try and hold the flailing baby. Lily began to slowly unbutton her shirt, knowing that surely someone heard him yell, and had sent for help. She knew she needed to stall.

"Shh, baby," the minister tried to coax the baby to be quiet.

"Obadiah, bring him to me and help me feed him," Lily coaxed. She sat there, shirt wide open, and a good bit of her breast exposed. "He's hungry and you don't want him to be hungry. If you let him cry for too long, they'll come to find out why and I know you and I have a lot to discuss."

"Like?" he hesitated. Lily gestured for him to come over. The baby was starting to hit the screaming stage of hunger and Lily could feel her body aching to let down. The minister slowly moved closer, holding the baby out to Lily. Lily immediately pulled the baby close, kissing his head before silencing him with her milk.

"What about me decide that we needed to be together?" Lily asked.

"Your mother," the minister replied flippantly.

"My mum? She's been dead for over seventeen years," Lily held the baby, trying to scratch her leg or make it look that way to try and retrieve her wand.

"I bet you didn't know this, but I used to be the assistant coach many years ago, for your mother's team," the minister rambled. "She was a very beautiful woman."

"Yes," Lily could remember that much about her.

"She'd been back only three months from having your brother, back on the broom and speedy as all get out," the minister paused, remembering something only he could think of. "She and I started up our affair, again." Lily swallowed.

"Affair? Again?"

"Whether your dad knew then or not, I don't know," the minister moved like he was going to caress the baby's cheek but instead he pinched the skin of her breast hard. She yelped. "Your mother liked when I brought the pain."

"I don't like pain," Lily pointed out coolly.

"I know that," the minister nodded once. "It still made me hot and bothered to think of the minister of Argentina binding you up and inflicting pain. Once my poly juice potion wore off there, I wanted nothing more than to witness it. I was supposed to storm the room and save you, and you'd finally fall for me, but no. Scorpius had to step in and save you. After I went through all that trouble of stealing his DNA from the hall of records."

"Why?" Lily demanded.

"I told you, your mother," the minister was getting agitated. He stood up and started pacing. "She and I were having an affair and she ends it all of a sudden. No explanation, just ends it. Next thing I know, she's pushing up pregnant with you, and rumor is that Draco was sleeping around with her."

"Wait a second," Lily demanded. "Draco?"

"Draco, yes, your father in law, the one and only," the minister sneered. "While she was cheating on your father with me, she was cheating on me with Draco. And then she's pregnant with you."

"Oh... OH! Please tell me that you are not my father, or worse, Draco!" Lily suddenly felt hot and sick. The minister laughed.

"No, Harry Potter, the Chosen one, was and will remain always your father," the minister replied coldly. "She finally broke down and had us be tested. I don't know if your dad ever knew."

"What does my mom being a tart have to do with me?" Lily asked. She could feel the baby fall away from the breast but she didn't dare move lest he try and take Gentry from her.

"I was the one who shattered your mother's mind," the minister sighed. Lily went pale.

"You what?"

"Your mother wasn't so keen on firing things back up with me when we were both working in the ministry again, even though I know for a fact that your mum and Draco had fired things up," the minister confessed. "Did you ever wonder why Draco was around more, or were you too busy chasing over his son?"

"I... how did you do it?" Lily asked. "They said, they told us that she got a cursed howler or something."

"I set it up that way. Your mum was a lot better at fighting the imperius curse than you were," he murmured. "Unfortunately, at the time, I wasn't better a memory charms. Infamy Malfoy was my first, your mother was my second."

"You- you took my mother from me," Lily glared at him.

"It wasn't my intention," he promised.

"Do you know what it was like being a thirteen year old girl, watching as your mother screamed in horror? For TWO years?" Lily's voice raised an octave.

"I tried to convince your father to release her," the minister explained. "Your father had hope."

"My mom was the love of my father's life," Lily snapped at him.

"He wasn't hers," the minister taunted. Lily pulled back as if he'd slapped her.

"My parents had their problems, but they kept-"

"Your mother was one good fuck away from leaving your father for good," the minster snorted. "I thought that my being minister was enough, but your mother was so fickle."

"Excuse me?" Lily's voice was trembling.

"I was the one who encouraged Scorpius to take the mission to Argentina," the minister taunted. "I heard he'd knocked you up and I figured I could post humorously punish your mother at the same time as punishing Draco."

"You're an awful man!" Lily yelled at him. His head whipped up from where he was pacing/

"Maybe," he nodded once with a smiled. "We'll have to finish this conversation later, Lily. I see your knights in tinfoil have arrived. Mark my words, Lily. You will be mine. I will have you."

"You will never have me!" Lily threatened.

"I already have," he cackled and with a crack, he was gone, just as Scorpius and Damon stormed into the room. Lily was glaring through tears at where the minister had been.

"Lily, are you okay?" Scorpius asked, touching her face. She pushed him away. She handed the baby off, fixing her shirt as Draco walked in.

"Was he here?" Draco asked. Lily rounded on him, walking up and punching Draco in the face. Everyone gasped, Scorpius grabbing her back by her arms.

"Lily!" he exclaimed.

"What was that for?" Draco demanded. Lily stood facing him, her fists clenched at her sides, sobbing.

"You're to blame for all this!" she screamed at him. "If it weren't for you, my mom would be alive! The minister wouldn't have taken Scorpius from me! My dad and brother would be alive! Draco Malfoy, you RUINED my life!"

"What are you talking about, Lily?" Scorpius asked, still holding Lily's arms.

"He slept with her. Your dad and my mum were having an affair," Lily cried at him. "Over and over!"

"What?" Draco protested.

"No," Scorpius shook his head.

"There was a time that the current minister and your dad were BOTH possibilities to be MY FATHER!" Lily screamed, looking at Draco with so much rage that if she had her wand, she'd have cursed him. Scorpius dropped Lily's arms.

"You... you cheated on Mum?" Scorpius asked hesitantly. He grabbed his wand, training it on his father. "How could you do that to her?"

"It was an accident, the first time," Draco muttered, fire in his face.

"You're a horrible, miserable man! I don't want you near me. I don't want you near my children! I don't want to ever speak to you again!" Scorpius shouted. "Get away from me, and stay away from my wife."

"I'm still your boss!" Draco replied coolly. "But I'm going to go, you need to cool down. Then we can talk."

"No, I have nothing more to say to you," Scorpius wrapped his arms around Lily, holding tight to her. She was sobbing hard, hands covering her face. Draco hesitated, glancing at Damon, before sweeping out of the room. Damon held tight to the baby, who had woke with all the yelling.

"Scorpius, what if we're no better than them? What if love isn't enough to keep us faithful?" Lily cried. "I've already shown I can't be trusted alone with Damon."

"You're better than they were, Lily," Scorpius promised, turning her to his arms. He held her, glancing at Damon over the top of her head.

"He's coming for me, Scorpius," Lily sobbed softly. "He's already proven time and time again that nothing is going to stop him. Eventually, he's going to come to get me, and he's going to succeed."
