Ty:
Danny and I stepped outside the door watching as the drop-ships ran by, firing off tons of Geth all over the place. C-sec was trying their best to take down the oncoming Geth, but they were being pushed back as if they were not even trying. There was only one thing to do, and we knew it.
He pulled the gunblade off his back while I readied my Stiletto. The Geth began forming lines and sweeping the walkways, causing us to take cover behind potted plants and those random walls around the Citadel. Our only goal now was to kick ass and take names.
Danny ran from the door to the left side near the water, "Hey Ty, twenty bucks says that you choke during this fight!"
I flipped him the bird and checked my rifle, "How about you just fuck off and see what you can do with the glitches!"
Peeking around the corner of the wall he was behind, he gave the signal for five Geth incoming. I readied my rifle and popped up. I put a majority of my shots into the closest Geth's center, causing him to drop like a falling tree. Before my gun overheated I was able to take down the next Geth's shields and drop down behind cover.
As soon as I was down and safe, Danny peeked back around the corner with his gun and blasted the unshielded Geth. By then the other three Geth had noticed us, and started unloading their guns on us. Thinking quickly, I activated my combat drone. It sputtered to life, and gave off its familiar orange glow.
"Drone reporting for duty!"
I pointed opposite the direction of the Geth, "Full retreat soldier!"
The drone turned around and took off down the path. It was clear that my plan was working when the Geth fire moved from us to the drone. I switched my assault rifle out for my shotgun and blasted the Geth farthest to the left, while Danny blasted the middle one with his gun and was near enough to the last one that he took one swing to cut out its eye.
"That's three to your two," he said smiling.
I cracked my knuckles, "So, we are having a contest? I guess I will have to start trying."
Danny let out a snort, "Okay I get the next squad we see."
Letting out a small chuckle, I looked out across the Presidium. There was squad after squad of Geth marching down the other side in tight-nit groups. Our side didn't seem to have any Geth. Curiosity got to me. I grabbed Danny, and the two of us made our way down the path in the opposite direction of the Geth.
"Why aren't the Geth on this side?"
I looked at Danny and then back ahead, "Far as I know, they like the sunshine on that side."
I could feel the egotism in his voice as he said, "You know that the Citadel doesn't have a sun. It's all just simulated to make it easier for the people to live here."
I just rolled my eyes, and continued until we rounded a corner to see a giant Geth drop-ship hanging over the opposite side of the Citadel. I ducked down behind a set of plants and Danny did the same. After giving my eyes a second to adjust, I was able to make out one figure that made my stomach churn.
Saren was standing at the railing of the Citadel looking out into the water. He appeared to be just happily waiting for something, but had no idea.
"What do you think he is looking for?" I asked Danny.
Before he could reply a Geth trooper crawled out of the water holding a deadly weapon. I had to squint a little bit but I was able to make out spikes coming off the bottom and blue lights. Feeling the memory coming to me, I opened my mouth to tell Danny but was met with a smack to the back of the head causing me to drop down behind the cover.
"You dumb ass, I knew you couldn't handle the chainsaw."
With a quick jab, I popped him in the stomach, "I didn't lose it on purpose! I was blown across the entire Presidium River by a dragon shout."
Danny peeked back over the cover, "That's no excuse, Saren now has the Lancer."
I got to one knee and watched Saren take the rifle from the Geth. He looked at it with some mixture of awe and evil pleasure. The gun gave off a green glow and morphed shape until it became a small square blaster. Shooting Danny a questioning look, I watched him mouth the words 'plasma cutter.'
Looking back, Saren had stored the weapon on his him and waved over three Geth. He walked around each of the Geth, inspecting them like a butcher inspects meat. Then, once he had come to a decision, he walked by each of them and tapped their chests with one finger.
The first Geth dropped on all fours, and began to grow a new appendage out of its back. The second became more circular and larger with its upper body changing to red. The last grew pale and grew in bulk, its guns morphing into giant blades.
I closed my eyes, and laid my head down on the wall we were hiding behind, "Shit, these guys again."
Danny sat a hand on my shoulder and gave it a shake, "Hey, look."
Letting my eyes open, I sat my head up and saw Saren point directly at us. Without a moment's hesitation Kratos leaped from Saren's side straight at us. As fast as I could react, I grabbed Danny's gunblade and took aim at Kratos. With one trigger pull I blasted him out of the air and he dropped down into the water.
I looked down from Kratos, and the first thing I noticed was Saren walking away without Samus or Baldar, "Where did they go."
My question was answered with a growl and the whine of a laser cannon.
Shepard:
Shepard felt the Mako rev and shoot forward as they dropped from the sky. His hands flew over the console correcting the courseas much as needed to hit their mark. They hit the ground and flew through the open cavern that would lead them to the Conduit.
Shepard kept up their speed and it looked like they would reach their destination in no time. Any resistance they met was easily dispatched with a blast from the Mako. It looked like nothing could stop him. Then, just as he was about to gun it and hit full speed, an orange field shot up in front of them.
His foot kicked the break and every wheel made the worst screeching sound possible. The Mako slowed, but it did not have enough traction to avoid hitting the wall. The force of the impact threw Shepard's head forward, while his seat-belt locked in place giving him one hell of a whiplash.
Rubbing his neck, he swung around in the swivel chair and looked at the team. Tali was adjusting her helmet, and Liara trying to keep from hurling. Feeling his hand clench, Shepard stood up and grabbed his gear from the entry lockers.
"Okay, we are almost there but we have what looks like a force field in our way. Tali, you are going to take a look at it while Liara and I cover you."
Tali checked her tool belt and grabbed her gear, "right, I'm not that good with Prothean tech, but might as well give it a shot."
"I can help you", Liara said, as she opened the exit hatch.
Shepard saw Tali rub the back of her neck, "Yeah, I don't think I will need it."
"What do you mean? I am an expert in the field of Prothean architecture and technology," Liara probed, puzzled.
Tali got out, and walked over to the edge of the force field, "Yeah, but you got yourself stuck in a force field."
"That was just the one time", Liara shot back.
Shepard stood by the Mako while the girls examined the force field, "Let's not make it two, okay Liara."
She shot him an angry look, "Not funny."
Shepard looked around the area, and saw Geth lining up on the other side of the force field readying to fire once it dropped, "Tali, wait."
Tali looked back at him, "What, you don't want to meet our adoring fans?"
"Look, I think-," he was cut off when a door to his right lit up green and opened.
Tali ran over to the door and scanned it, "It's an elevator…"
After waiting a moment Liara asked, "And?"
"Nothing! I can't get a scan past that it's an elevator. Something must be blocking my signal," Tali panicked as she tapped away at her omnitool.
Shepard walked forward and stepped into the elevator, "Well, get in."
"You want to go in there?!"
He looked at the Geth lining up behind the force field, "I don't see any other options. Now, get in."
Tali took the left, while Liara leaned on the wall to the right. Once everyone had their place, he hit the down button and the elevator shot downward faster than the average elevators on the Citadel. Liara made an attempt to say something but was cut off as the elevator opened.
The room it opened to was large, with a singular catwalk and a malfunctioning hologram in the center. Shepard took one step into the room and the hologram reacted by spinning and trying to take shape but it was so old that the files for its appearance must have been corrupted because it was just a nonsensical mess. Yet, it seemed to call him forward until he was right in front of it.
"Greetings, I am Vigil. VI of Ilos operations base. From what my scans tell me, the Reapers have returned and very few non-indoctrinated life forms remain. That means you are the last hope this cycle has in surviving the Reaper menace."
Shepard shot the women a questioning glance, and then looked to the VI, "That's untrue; there is an entire galaxy out there that is not 'indoctrinated.' You have just met a few."
The VI sat and buzzed for a moment before answering, "Apologies, normally scans would have been done through all beacons but there are no functioning beacons left in my data banks. Therefore, I was forced to use only data available to me to make an inference as to the status of the galaxy. If you are here, does this mean that the Reapers have taken the Citadel?"
"No," he shook his head, "we are hunting the Reaper right now. It is heading to the Citadel with an army of synthetics known as the Geth. We believe they are going there to take the station for themselves."
"Negative."
"Uh, explain," Tali called from the back.
"The Reapers are currently sitting in dark space waiting for the activation of Mass Relay 01. From there they will invade the galaxy and use the information stored on the Citadel to wipe out all highly evolved races in the galaxy."
Liara stepped forward and put her hand on Shepard's shoulder, "My god, they plan on using our greatest monument to inter species cooperation to wipe us out. How could the Protheans have not seen this coming?"
"False, the Prothean did see this coming and shut down the activation matrix for the Citadel so the Reapers could not use the relay against the next cycle."
"Explain," Tali demanded again.
"After the Reaper invasion had begun in the Prothean cycle, Ilos managed to remain unknown to the Reapers during their harvest. The scientist of this planet spent the harvest in animated suspension, allowing the conservation of supplies and energy. Once the cycle ended, the scientists used the Conduit to travel to the Citadel, and sabotaged the activation matrix so that the Reapers could not begin this cycle with a surprise attack, thus buying this cycle more time to prepare for the Reaper threat."
Shepard took a deep breath and looked at the elevator, "I have a feeling this might take a while."

Well, "Neo" is a strong character and role to give to just one person. I believe all the Users show his qualities and together they form the one. I'm not going to promise you that the Users can save the Krogan, everyone of Shepard's crew in Mass Effect 2, or even that they will get home. I can promise you that they get the ending they deserve and nothing less.
Okay, so this is really late and it's because real life is hard and summer-college has started up. Luckily, I am so close to the end it is just a matter of time, drive, and improvising.
ROAD HOUSE!
