Danny:
Danny raised his hands up. Ty and he were cornered, with Baldar to their right and Samus to the left. Besides their terribly inconvenient predicament, they also had Saren making his way up to the Citadel tower ahead of schedule. There was only one way to save the day, and it was painfully obvious.
Baldar pulled back on his bow string, and shot an arrow right at Ty. He was too focused on Samus to see Baldar, and Danny stepped in the way taking the arrow to his upper thigh. The pain made Danny let out a groan, but he was still able to snatch his gunblade from Ty and get a shot off on Baldar. The shot made the Kahjiit jump and hide behind a wall.
The movement from the Baldar caught Samus's eye for a moment, long enough for Danny to rip out his shotgun with his left hand and fire off a few rounds at her. The two enemies hiding gave him a second to communicate his plan to Ty.
"Okay, we need to stop Saren and there is only one way we can do that."
"Split up?"
"Bingo, don't worry about these jokers. I will send them packing back to their own games," Danny said as he pulled the hammer for his gunblade back.
A hand fell on his shoulder, "Are you sure?"
Danny smiled, and fired off another shot at Samus as she peeked around the corner.
"I already told you that I got the next Geth squad. These guys are technically Geth."
The hand dropped from his shoulder and Ty stepped to his left, "Okay, I am going to make a break for the elevator. When I get a chance I will call Cody."
Danny grabbed his pistol and started firing in Samus's direction, "Go!"
Ty took off running and made it past Samus, but she pulled up her cannon and prepared to fire on him. Danny took advantage of her moment of distraction. He quickly shot forward, and plunged his blade through her midsection. His sword blew straight through her, causing her to fall over flat on her face.
Taking one look, he saw Ty round a corner and disappear from sight. Now it was just him and the bastard cat. He yanked his sword out of Samus and turned around.
A white man came into his sight as he turned, and he let out a curse. Kratos was standing right behind the rail, dripping wet and looking as pissed as ever. A hole in the center of his body was slowly closing up where Ty had shot him.
"He" looked from Kratos down to the ground and saw the wound he had just inflicted on Samus was closing up as well, "Oh, shit. You guys are immortal."
Kratos's hands flew back and grabbed his blades. Danny responded by diving backwards, completely ducking Kratos's attack. He ended his roll and pulled up his blade for another shot, but Baldar was already training an arrow on him.
They were at a stalemate; his bullet was faster than Baldar's arrow, but Baldar could shot an arrow faster than Danny could pull his trigger. However, if he didn't think quickly Kratos would move in on him and he would be trapped. A sliver of blue came into his vision on the left-hand wall.
Pulling in all his limbs, he rolled to the left and up to the glitch on the wall. he didn't have time to pry it open, so instead he just jumped head first into it and managed to squeeze in. The glitch pulled him along and spat him out of the floor in another part of the Presidium.
He quickly shot up to his feet, and looked around trying to spot his three enemies. Instead of Baldar, Kratos, or Samus, he saw Cody chilling on a bench, staring at him with mouth agape. Realizing there was no danger around, he turned to his friend.
"Hey, what's going on?"
Cody looked at the ground and then back at Danny, "When did you become a street shark?"
Giving a chuckle, Danny walked over and took a seat next to him, "about thirty-minutes ago, Ty and I were going after Saren. On our way we met with this AI girl, who told me that I could have the power to see glitches."
Cody held his hand up signaling him to pause, "Hold it, you talked to Chakwas?"
Danny shook his head, "No, it was another AI. I think she said she controlled the regular people. Anyway, she gave me the power to see glitches and use them."
"So what can you do with glitches?"
Danny shrugged, "So far, I can use them to jump around."
"Like wormholes?"
"Bingo", Danny looked off to the right and saw a white man round the far off corner, "Alright, looks like the party is here."
Cody looked past Danny, "Is that…?"
Danny nodded his head, "Yep, Kratos, Baldar, and Samus. All for us."
Cody took off running toward the Citadel transit stand, "You should have told me this sooner!"
"Where are you going!"
He didn't answer and to be honest, Danny didn't really care. He had his moment to catch his breath and now was his time to stick it to the goon squad. His hand flew to his back and he pulled of his assault rifle.
Kratos, Samus, and Baldar all got to the bridge, and lined up to open fire on him. Danny analyzed their attack and did the one thing they wouldn't expect. He ran straight at them at full speed, guns blazing. The force of his frontal assault, mixed with the confusion brought by his tactic, made Samus and K'Vash dodge behind cover. Kratos, on the other hand, took his challenge and ran to meet him on the bridge.
As Kratos ran toward him, he focused on his rifle and concentrated on a new sword that would give him a range of options. Kratos swung his swords forward but Danny brought his fusion blade up and blocked the attack.
"Guess who's got a new toy," Danny taunted.
Tali:
Grabbing the ladder rungs, Tali hauled herself into the Mako and loaded up for one hell of a ride. They had lost a ton of ground on Saren with that pit-stop, and they had to make it up. Before she was even belted in, Shepard hit the gas and she fell back and hit her head on the Mako door.
"Ouch, careful Shepard."
He pitched hard left to dodge a Geth Colossus, which caused her to smack into a chair, "Being careful is a luxury that we can't afford right now Tali."
She lifted herself into a seat and belted in, "Fine, how close are we?"
The Mako slid and then caught as Shepard said, "Don't really have time to worry about distance, only that we get there."
She sat back and leaned into her chair while looking around. Liara was watching the video from their chat with the Prothean VI with utter astonishment. Then she noticed the porthole near Liara's head. There was destruction and carnage along with the dismal breakdown of the ancient city.
Tali's focus on the view was broken as Liara tried to make conversation, "Can you believe all the information we just got about the Protheans? This could tell us so much, and answers many of questions we have been trying to answer for centuries."
"Liara, how can you believe that when we have seen so much to disprove that the Protheans even existed."
"Please, explain your question Tali."
"We have seen three boys that can change the world with their will. I have seen Ty give someone a tap on the shoulder and change everything about her. That boy, Cody, took this tank and turned it into a giant fighting robot. Danny has made weapons the likes of which we have never seen… with his mind," she pointed to her head for emphasis on the last line.
Liara sat forward and leaned on her knees, "This is true, we have seen them. Then again, who's to say that they are really even real? What if we are sharing a group hallucination, and those three boys aren't actually real. Like the Prothean beacon did something to Shepard's mind that connects it to ours as well. What if a Prothean created the boys to represent something different? Like how much power we truly have in this world."
"Okay, that is the biggest load of bosh I have ever heard. They are obviously real. Ty took a rocket for me on Noveria."
"Did he or did you just imagine the whole thing along with the rest of us? What if Ty was just a representation something you wanted? Maybe he was the hero you never found in your father."
Liara's words triggered an immediate response and Tali's hand came up and struck her across the face, "Don't you ever talk about my life like you know me."
The smack must have been louder than she thought as Shepard yelled from the front of the Mako, "Hey, let's wait to kill each other until after we beat Saren."
She looked up to Shepard and saw a Mass Relay, smaller than the ones in space, activated and pointing toward the sky. Feeling a pit begin to form in her stomach, she stretched her arms out and clenched the bottom of her seat until her knuckles were white. She had heard some ridiculous things before, but never what they were about to do.
Shepard gunned it, and the Mako bolted toward to the Conduit. On the sides of the road, tons of Geth took up position and began firing everything they had trying to stop them. Tali watched as the Mako's shields dropped to zero and red lights began flashing.
She clenched her seat tight and looked over to the port whole. A Geth artillery shot flew in and was on a direct collision course. She cringed, and felt the Mako lift into the air.
Okay, new chapter is up and ready. Now it's time for responses to reviews.
GethPrime89:
With the plans I have for the finale will hopefully live up to your expectations because next chapter is Ty vs Saren. Blood will be shed, matrix code will fall and someone is going to need a new set of armor because it will be… I am just going to stop right there. I almost gave away spoilers.
LordCybot:
YEAH, I will take a 7/10 anyday. Especially after one guy gave me a one-out-of-five. You may not have meant it to, but that definitely lifts my spirits. On the Ty and Tali subject, I don't know if you mean them individually, which will get a ton of parts in the upcoming chapters. If you mean like that whole "love" thing they had going on, I can't exactly explain it but that is a road I will be treading more on in the Users 2: Glitched. I'm trying to focus on the more important issue at hand which is Ty not disappearing into oblivion with Saren taking his place.
