Cody:

Cody slapped his hand on the rapid transit skycar, and it began to flicker different shapes. Fighting the urge to drop to his knees and pray, he stared at the car intensely as it shifted shapes and textures. The randomization began to slow down, until it finally fell into a familiar shape. The matrix veil faded to reveal the Halo Warthog.

It wasn't exactly what he wanted, but he was in a pinch and would have to make due. Cody jumped into the driver seat and started it up. The engine came to life, and roared louder than any vehicle that he had driven. With a press of the pedal, the hog shot forward and out into the walkway.

Down the path, Danny was fighting off Kratos with a giant sword. Cody shifted it into neutral, and revved the engine to ramp up its RPMs. Just as the vehicle was about to max out, he pulled up the comms.

"Danny, when I say now, jump to the left and deflect Kratos to the right."

The User batted Kratos's blades away, "My right or yours?"

"They're the same for both of us, dumbass", Cody shouted into the mic.

He popped the clutch, and felt the machine lurch forward. It flew down the bridge right at the fighting pair. He counted the distance between them until he was close enough.

"Now!"

Instead of parrying, Danny slashed across Kratos's gut slicing him in half. Then he kicked him right into the front of the Hog, causing him to be caught in the grill of the vehicle. Cody gassed it more and pushed Kratos back until he rammed him into a wall. Letting a smile come to his face as Kratos fell on the hood of the vehicle.

His hands slid down, and Cody began to believe he was dead. Then the Warthog began to lift from the ground. He looked to the side and saw that the fulcrum point was Kratos. When he looked back, Kratos had blood pouring down his chin.

Cody was at a forty-five degree angle to the ground by the time he reacted. He stomped down on the gas and leaned back, hoping Kratos would lower him to the ground. There was no luck to be had, and Kratos did not falter. Just as he was about to throw him, something weighted down the back of the vehicle and, Kratos lower the hog.

He glanced back, and saw Danny crawling up on the gun turret. "You ready for this?"

His hands tightened on the wheel, and he let the reactions the game cursed him with take over. "You know it!"

The Hog hit the ground and pinned Kratos to the wall again. By the whine of the barrel, Cody could tell that his friend was about to fire. The gun activated, and bullets ripped into Kratos with no remorse. Within seconds, he was just a pair of legs connected by his pelvis.

Cody looked back at Danny and smiled. "That's one down!"

He was turning the gun to fire at the other two. "Go, go go! They can't die!"

Cody looked back and saw all the blood and bits of Kratos raising off the ground, reforming to his body. He quickly shifted into reverse and spun around, tearing Kratos from the wall and catching him on the grill hooks.

He spun the wheel, made a cresset turn and then shifted it into drive. The car took off, and dragged the reforming Kratos with it. Glancing at the rear view mirror he saw that Samus and Baldar were trying to follow but Danny was pinning them down.

There was a loud scrape, and Cody felt the car run over something. As he looked back he saw Kratos, now a torso, rolling back covered in tire marks. After that, Cody took off and flew down the slim walkways in the Warthog. Eventually they arrived at the elevator and parked it.

He leaned out of the cab and looked to Danny, "What's the plan?"

Danny thought for a moment. "Well, Ty went up so-"

He was cut off as a Mako tank flew from the sky and crashed to the ground. There was no movement for a minute. Then the back door opened slowly, and Shepard's team crawled out. Helooked battered, and was completely out of it.

"So, you learn how to fly tanks in the last couple hours", Danny blurted out.

Shepard stood up and shook his head, trying to force his eyes back into alignment. "Danny? You have got to be kidding me!"

"Don't worry Shep, I am here to sa-"

Shepard cut Danny off with a right hook to the jaw.

Cody stepped out of the Warthog, away from them, and went to help Liara and Tali out of the Mako. "You guys okay?"

Tali took his hand and stood up, "Yeah, just a little disoriented."

As he was helping Liara up, she lost her balance and fell to her knees. "We can't slow down. Saren is heading to the Citadel control tower."

Shepard looked over from Danny. "And where is that exactly?"

Liara got to her feet and pointed up, "The only logical place it can be; the top of the Citadel tower, where the council meets."

Cody knew that they would have to talk to Avina, and it would take another ten minutes so he just said what was logical. "Yeah, we saw Saren take the elevator up."

"Sure did, then we got ambushed."

Shepard looked back at Danny agian. "And did you take care of the ambush?"

Danny threw his hand up and pointed to the other side of the Persidium. "Nope, they're right over there."

Cody looked over to see Samus leading the charge this time as Kratos stumbled behind, still reforming, and the Kahjiit got his bow ready. His hand flew back and snatched his sniper rifle.

" If I am going to do anything today, it's going to be killing these immortal pricks."

Shepard:

Shepard didn't know if he were dizzy, or the landing from the Mako had knocked all the sense out of him but he saw a ghost, robot and a cat man charging them. The debate in his mind cut off when the robot fired a shot at him. Barely missing and scarring the wall behind him. Pulling himself together, he began barking orders to his newly expanded team.

"Tali, get an overload on that robot. Liara, lift catman in the air so Cody can get a clear shot at him. Danny, I don't know what that vehicle is behind me, but it's got a turret so get on it and lay down suppressive fire on the ghost guy!"

Everyone went into action and followed his orders. Tali was able to stun the robot for a couple seconds which allowed Liara to hit the cat with a lift. Once it was in the air, Cody fired off two shots with his sniper rifle and sent it flying off to the elevators. It all was going perfectly, except that the ghost was running fast and not slowing from the onslaught of bullets heading toward him.

Shepard grabbed the shotgun off his back, and sprinted to the edge of the bridge. "Everyone, concentrate on the white guy!"

Even over the sound of the gun, Shepard heard Danny spit back a retort. "That's racist!"

Shepard gritted his teeth and swung around the corner, shotgun at the ready. The ghost was charging him full speed, and had two giant blades ready to gut him. Letting his finger tense, Shepard blasted the man in the chest.

He stopped in his tracks and fell to his knees. Slowly, his skin peeled away and he transformed into a Geth. The Geth sat in front of him smoking and then it toppled over dead. Feeling good about himself, he let a smile come to his lips.

His eyes drifted up and he saw that the robot was in pieces, but a blond haired woman was running right at him. She looked determined, and Shepard assumed that she was looking for cover from the enemies. He quickly stepped her on, and motioned for her to hurry to him.

Within seconds, she got within five feet of him and jumped in the air. Shepard was stunned by her actions and didn't move. The blond haired woman put her legs together, and dropkicked him in the face. The hit caused him to spin around and fall to his hands and knees.

He struggled, but it was hard to move his head up to look at the blond woman. At a glance, Shepard looked at her, and then back at the robot, and it hit him. "Team, take her down!"

Everyone opened fire on her, and she was ripped to shreds within seconds. He tried to stand up, but felt like something was about to about to snap in his face. Once he stood up, he hobbled over to the elevator and stepped inside.

"Okay, let's go."

Danny got off the vehicle, and Shepard noticed he had two giant swords on his back. "Okay, what's up with the old fashion weapons?"

Danny grabbed one that looked like it was several swords taped together, "This is my assault rifle and the other was my pistol from Virmire."

Shepard nodded and then looked at him, "And I am assuming that you just forgot to tell me that Saren was going to attack the Citadel because you were too obsessed with your swords."

Cody pointed at him and just said, "Bingo."

Shepard reached up and pinched his nose, "God dammit, this is the reason why I kicked you off the ship. Not telling me shit like this."

Danny put his hands up in defense, and Cody stepped between them, "No, Shepard, if we tell you everything then you won't act in a way we can predict so we can make adjustments. That's why some of the bad things have happened."

He stomped his foot and pointed right at Danny, "Will you just stop with this bullshit?! You know what? Forget it. Let's just get in the elevator and go kick Saren's boney ass."

He felt a hand sit on his shoulder and pull him back, "Shepard, look."

Shepard turned around and saw that Liara was the one stopping him. Following her finger, he saw that the blond woman was standing in front of them. She had huge chunks of her suit missing, but was slowly reforming. Shepard fell into old habits, snatched his pistol off his side and put one through her skull.

The woman dissipated just like the ghost man, and soon was just a lifeless Geth body lying on the ground. Shepard strolled over to it and kicked the body. It was dead and he could not see any sign of her reforming.

"Cody and Danny, I'm assuming you guys know about this."

Cody was the first one to talk. "Nope, I just fought them. Danny was the one that saw them being made."

"He's right, I did see them. Saren made them from three Geth. They are characters from other games that he brought in and made unkillable… that being said, you killed them."

Shepard stood up and looked to them, "How does that work?"

Danny shrugged, "I don't know, maybe because I didn't look both ways before crossing the street. Fuck if I know; I just said you killed them, isn't that enough?"

Shepard stood up and looked around. "For now, I guess."

They all stepped into the elevator. Shepard hit the up button, and the elevator took off faster than usual. Everyone sat quiet until there was a weird hum in the air. Someone was missing.

"Where is Ty?"

"He already went up to fight Saren", Danny answered.

Shepard's eyes widened, "Oh shit."
