I'm really sorry for not updating for almost a year. Well, I got some serious writer's block and am busy nowadays. I also have issues with ALLEGIANT. Truthfully, I haven't read it yet as I'm not mentally prepared, though I knew the ending already. I hope Veronica Roth won't write something like THAT again.
Since I have been discouraged a bit from writing more Divergent Fanfics, I am planning to write my new obsession: the Hunger Games, but don't worry, I won't stop continuing my 3 lovely Divergent stories. Btw, has anyone watched Catching Fire? Josh and Liam definitely blow me away.
Anyway, enough with the blabbers, here is Chapter 5!
"Fine."
Fine.
I just said that.
There is no turning back.
"Really?" he looks bewildered.
"Yeah, now tell me the plans before I change my mind," I shrug nonchalantly.
Tobias gives me a reassuring smile and starts, "Max says that it's better if you move into The Pit, the headquarter, and maybe you can do some simple agent jobs."
"Simple agent jobs?" I snort.
"Yeah, something not too dangerous. Max insists to give you a job because he says that it will be impossible for you to stay still and become an 'obedient' girl," replies Tobias with a chuckle.
"He knows me so well," I look down.
"So when are you going to move into the HQ?"
"Anytime, how about three days?" I ask him, anxious to get away from my cozy apartment before I'm comfortable with it.
"Is it fine? That's a short time," asks Tobias who is surprised by my eagerness to move out even though I had stubbornly refused just a day ago.
"I don't want to feel too comfortable with my apartment as I may not be able to move away and that I don't want to die, yet, before my family's killer is trapped in jail, or better in the mental institution," I explain.
He chuckles for a while before standing up and handing me a cold glass of water.
"Thanks," I murmur and take a sip.
"Uh, so do you need any help with the packing?"
"I don't think so; almost everything is still in the boxes," I wave my hand to the stack of boxes beside my bed.
"I'm going to call Max then," grins Tobias and calls Max. "Yeah, she agreed," Tobias says to the phone while looking at me. "She decided to be an 'obedient' girl," he chuckles at me while still talking to Max.
I squint at him, making him chuckle even louder.
"We will be there 3 days from now. A car? Zeke drives?" Tobias' face scrunches in confusion then laughs. After awhile, he puts the phone back into his jeans pocket.
"What did he say?" I ask him.
"There will be a car to bring us to the Headquarters."
"Um, who is Zeke?" is my last question.
"A good friend of mine. I will introduce him to you, you will like him," he says and flops down to my bed to lay down.
He looks tired as he closes my eyes and looks like he is sleeping. His face looks peaceful like this and he is actually looks younger than usual. I can see a scratch on his face I assume is from the fight with the intruder.
"Hey, Tobias, why did you join the Agent?" I ask bluntly.
"Why do you want to know?" he looks at me with a smirk.
"You are probably still young and capable of doing the other jobs. Why there?"
"What about you?" he rises and positions his right arm on the bed so he is half seated and looks at me with curiosity.
"I ask you first."
"Just as expected from the Dauntless Prodigy," chuckles the handsome man before continuing, "it's my way of escape."
I wait for his explanation, but I can see him hesitating.
"You don't need to tell me everything," I stand up and open my wardrobe. I know how he feels about talking about our own private matters that no stranger can know. "I'm taking a bath," I grab my clean clothes before stalking into the bathroom.
Sorry for the kind-of-boring plot. I will try to write in Tobias' POV in the next chapter. Thank you for your supports, everyone.
Please give me your comments through reviews or/and PMs. I am waiting ~
