Howl sighed, letting Cupa go as she smiled. "You alright now?" she asked as he nodded.
"Yeah..." he said, standing up as she sat on the bed. "... I'll be back in a bit." he said, jumping out of the window and landing safely on the ground as he walked out toward the plains with a lone tree nearby. He sighed deeply as he drew his Diamond Sword. "... This thing is too light." he said, putting it away before drawing a Stone Sword. He held it in both hands as it pointed to the ground, seeing as he held it backhanded in both hands. "Naito Spear Version One... Night Light." he said as his sword suddenly flashed, blinding nearly everything around him as a Skeleton and Zombie approached. He looked over, drawing his blade again.
"Encase your sword in its sheath." the Skeleton warned as he nodded slowly, sheathing the blade.
"We wish to speak with you." the Zombie said as he nodded slowly. "You are the leader of this village, no?" it asked as he shook my head.
"Actually... No... I'm just a guard... Somewhat." he said as the two nodded.
"I see, we wish to speak to the head of this village." the Skeleton said as he nodded, holding out his hand.
"I'll go get the mistress. But one slip up will mean death." Howl said before running off.
*Another lazy mofo(HX/Angel/Crescent's fault)*
"So we offer you this." The undead groaned "In exchange for your friendship..."
"... We will offer our assistance to you" the skeleton finished with a clack of it's bones.
"How can we know you will keep your word?" Howl asked, suspicious with the offer. These two mobs suddenly offer assistance in helping build and protect the village so they can place a mob spawner near the village. In times when war was imminent, alliances were a double-edged sword. The offer of strength also held on to the possibility of treachery. And he knew all too well there was a big chance this was a trap.
"You won't know." The skeleton replied. "We are an eternal enemy among all inhabitants of this world. You doubt us while we do the same to you."
"We know you that can never trust us." the zombie added "Even though we will still offer you all our strength in any way."
Howl scoffed "Smart words from a bunch of monsters with no brains."
"Then tell us why you doubt our offer?" The skeleton asked.
"The little detail about planting a mob spawner near the village sticks out like a sore thumb as doubt." Howl answered "You are pretty much telling me that you want to set an ambush near the village."
"Even if we do plan on an ambush, why would we tell you about the spawners then?" the zombie asked.
"How should I know? A possibility of false sense of security maybe? Either way it's still sounds-"
"I accept your offer." Emerald said as Howl suddenly turned to her.
Howl and the mobs turned their heads towards the mistress of the village. Eyes closed in thought she answered "I will accept your offer on the mob spawners."
"Mistress!" said Howl "You're accepting the fact that there's danger right outside the gates of the village?!"
"We thank you for your cooperation." the zombie and skeleton bowed stiffly in thanks "We will return at the next night fall."
And with that the two mobs returned to the dense forest they came from. Howl continued to watch as the mobs with uncertainty and uneasiness at his mind. How can the mistress of a village who loved her people so much accept monsters into the village?
When the mobs were out of their sight, Emerald yawned and headed back towards the village. "Well then, I should go and get some sleep now... I haven't had any sleep since you all came."
"Why did you accept them?" Howl asked as he kept eyeing the forest "You know those were monsters and you gamble your own people into this?" he turned towards her with a frown on his face "I hate it when people don't think about the actions they are doing might harm those around them. So why did you?"
She stopped walking "The same reason you accepted Syth." she answered with her back facing him "Even if he was a total stranger, someone capable of harming your loved ones. You accepted him as your friend." Howl was silent."Syth was a child who would recklessly charge into all sorts of trouble. He sometimes wound up getting injured or maybe even close to losing his life. He did this so that he alone can carry the burden for the people he loved dearly." Howl remained silent. "Up to now he still carries the burden of everyone in the village. He would do everything in order to keep his close ones away from any sort of burden."
"So he wants to keep the burden to himself..."
"I've always relied on him. I always saw him alone with the weight, and I was ashamed that I could do nothing. But now I can help him carry his burden too, even if I can only do little" she finished and with no more words from either, she headed home to sleep.
He sighed and turned back to the tree as he raised his blade. "... Multi Sword Beam." He whispered as his blade glowed seven times, each a different color. He suddenly began swinging it wildly toward the tree, each time, sending a beam at it... These beams were much weaker though, as it only shook it as a few branches rustled. "Too weak." he said, sighing as he turned away before hearing a branch break. "Hmm?" Howl turned to the the tree that he heard the branch breaking from before walking over there. He quickly peered behind the bush before seeing a girl lying there on the ground. "... You okay there?" he asked, offering a hand.
"Crap, I've been spotted!" the girl muttered to herself, quickly standing up, getting in a position to run.
"H-hey what's your hurry?" Howl asked, looking at her.
"You weren't supposed to see me, you nightmarish murderer." the girl stated coldly, before running off. Howl made a motion, as if reaching out for her before his hand fell to his side again. "... How did she know?..." Howl muttered, staring in the direction that she had run off.
"Hey, Howl!" Cupa shouted, running towards howl with a big grin.
Howl was still staring off in the distance before turning to her. "... Hey." he said, looking at her.
"John just told me about this strange thing you guys in the real world do. A 'date'. Can we go on one?" Cupa asked, looking at him with puppy eyes.
Howl looked at her before smiling nervously. "Truth be told, I've never been on a date."
"But it's still a custom in your world, isn't it? You should know a little bit about it, right? We can just experience it for the first time together." Cupa attempted to convince him, tugging on his arm.
"Y-you mean now?" Howl asked, blushing deeply.
"Well, I heard that you have to prepare a bunch, so I'm going to get ready. You get ready too." Cupa walked off towards the house, dragging Howl along with her. Howl's mouth was wide open with surprise.
"B-but I don't have any clothes other than my school uniform, I don't have my perf-ER-cologne a-and other stuff! How are we gonna change into pretty clothes?"
"Easy! We make them." Cupa replied, holding knitting needles. Howl's mouth gaped as he was dragged into the house.
But for some reason Howl had the unnerving feeling somebody was watching him. Could it be that girl? How did she know about me? Howl thought, staring into the forest. "A date? This may be the perfect opportunity." a voice faintly whispered from the shadows. but nobody was around to hear.
A while later...
Howl sighed, fixing his glasses. "I forgot how hard this stuff was." he said to himself as he picked up his needles again.
Stella walked into the room, leaning her breasts onto Howls back. "What are you doing?" she asked.
Howl blushed deeply, pushing his glasses back on as he looked up at her. "J-j-just knitting clothes..."
"Aw, why do you need to do that? If you ever run out of clothes to wear, you could always walk around naked, you know. I wouldn't mind." Stella replied, looking Howl up and down.
"Hmm... Walking around naked... Surrounded by a bunch of girls and guys and not alone in a shower... I'll pass." Howl said, blushing deeply as he went back to knitting another tie.
"Oh well, your loss. So anyways, why are you knitting?" Stella asked.
"I don't have any more clothes and Cupa and I are gonna go on a date." Howl said, setting the needles on the table as he turned to look up at Stella from where he was sitting.
"A date?! How adorable!" she shouted, hugging Howl tightly.
Howl blushed vividly, looking up at her. "... Mmh ffh ih ihn yhr bhoohs." he said, muffled.
"Oh, it's okay, sweetie. Just enjoy it while it lasts." she whispered, patting his head.
"... Khinda sffihchtihng..." Howl said, still muffled as his blush enveloped his whole body.
"Oh, it's okay sweetie. just relax..." she said.
Howl continued blushing deeper and deeper as he took off his glasses. "... Didn't help at all... I can still feel them." He thought before a knock at the door was heard.
"Who is it?" Stella called out.
"It's Cupa! Are you helping my Percy-wercy make his clothes?" Cupa called back.
"... More than that... And didn't we talk about pet names in public?" Howl thought to himself as his blush died down.
"Aww, how cute!" Stella said, hugging him again, this time even tighter.
Howl's blush suddenly was brought back but this time, it looked like he'd blow up. "Can I see the clothes?" Cupa called out.
"Oh go ahead, show her. I'm going to take a shower. You're welcome to join, Howl." Stella said, letting him go before walking off.
"... Why didn't she hit on me before I started dating Cupa?" Howl muttered.
"Who knows?" Cupa said, shrugging as she walked in. "Maybe she's jealous? Anyways, let me see those clothes." Howl nodded before holding up a pair of black dress pants, a red button up shirt and a white tie. "They look good." she said, looking between Howl and the clothes.
"What about yours?" he asked.
"It's right here." Cupa said, holding up a peach colored dress, lightly decorated with frills on the shoulders.
"O-oh my..." Howl said, blushing as he looked at the dress.
"So, shall we get ready?" Cupa asked. Howl nodded slowly, still looking at the dress and her. "Well get dressed, silly." Cupa smiled, walking out of the room. Howl nodded, quickly slipping into his clothes before looking at his glasses.
"... Oh I'll have to wear them... I can't see now that I lost my contacts." Howl said, taking his glasses out of his pocket with a sigh.
"It's fine. they make you look cute." Cupa said, staring at his face as she walked back in. Howl blushed deeply as he looked at her before putting his glasses on.
"W-wow... Y-you look a-amazing..."
"Why thank you. You look quite handsome yourself." she replied, looking at his outfit.
"You sure I don't look stupid?" Howl asked.
"Of course you don't. You look like somebody who knows what's going on." Cupa said, reassuring him.
Howl smiled, blushing lightly. "Ready to go then?" he asked, holding the door open for her.
"Why thank you kind sir." Cupa replied, curtsying before going through the doorway. Howl smiled, following her soon after.
"Hmm... So it's time, eh? It appears they're heading to the park. I might be able to make my move, there. Get ready, 'Howl'." a voice whispered from the shadows. Sadly, nobody was around to warn them of what was planned to happen at the park.
After a short walk to the park, Howl was smiling at a group of kids (Which included Yaebi, Spidey and Cavey) who were practicing with Wooden Swords, Bows and Arrows.
"Shall we watch them?" Cupa asked.
"Why not?" Howl asked with a smile as he motioned to a bench for them to sit on.
"They look very determined." Cupa commented, sitting on the bench. Howl nodded, smiling as he sat next to her.
"And look, now that the sun doesn't affect sun weakness-based mobs, they're actually getting along." Howl said, pointing to Yaebi who was practicing with a young Villager and Skeleton.
"I mean, I've had to take Yaebi off of the head of a Villager on a or two times, but otherwise she's been doing fine." Cupa said with a smile.
Howl smiled back. "Well, seeing as we've now got more Mobs getting along here and Blazette working with Scarlet on making those Potions that heal Villagers from those illnesses, everything's pretty much fine."
"Yeah, we may even be able to persuade some other players to help us out." as they were conversing, an arrow whipped by Howls head, inches from his eye.
Howl gasped, watching as it knocked his glasses off. "... Oh." he said before most of the kids looked over. "... We're fine you guys!" he said with a warm smile as he waved at them. They nodded and went back to playi-er... Training.
"That was a close one, you almost died!" Cupa said with wide eyes, covering her hands with her mouth.
Howl shrugged and picked up his glasses before putting them back on (as they simply became dropped items when he dropped them.). "It's gonna take more than an arrow to the face to kill me, besides, it's not like anything's broken and anyone's hurt." Howl said before looking at the arrow.
"Yeah, but if that had gotten in your eye, even a mob would die instantly." Cupa said, looking at the arrow in the ground. Yet it appeared she overlooked a red wing on it.
"Yeah... We do have Mob Spawners here..." Howl said. "If a Mob dies, it'd respawn nearby... But... I don't know if Players in this world can come back like avatars." Howl said, not noticing the feather.
"Exactly. That's why I was worried." Cupa responded.
"... Thanks for worrying about me." Howl said, kissing her cheek.
"We-well, it's nothing, really, of course I'd be worried about you!" Cupa blushed, waving her hands back and forth. Howl chuckled.
"Y'know that's really cute."
"Wh-why thank you... You look cute yourself, for somebody so small." Cupa said, trying to regain her composure. Howl pouted, looking down.
"I'm only an inch shorter than you." he muttered.
"Now now, don't feel down. I'm not exactly the tallest one either, after all." Cupa blushed, looking at the ground.
"I know... I'm just..."
"Just what?"
"... Nervous, alright?" Howl asked, looking at her. "Whenever I'm around you... It feels like I have butterflies in my stomach. I've felt like this ever since we met and... I can't shake the feeling. It goes beyond me simply telling you 'I love you' because that isn't enough to describe how much I've fallen for you." he said before blushing deeply. Cupa simply stared at him with an overjoyed expression on her face.
"... Hey, let's get something to eat." she quickly changed the subject, face redder than a tomato.
"Sure... Let's go eat." Howl said, blushing as he stood up, offering her his hand.
"Thank you, my kind gentleman." she said, taking his hand.
"Anything for you my lady." he said, smiling before he helped her up. "Restaurant or sunset dinner on a hill?"
"Which sounds more romantic to you?" she asked him, not knowing what would be the proper way to go about it.
"Hmm... The second." he answered, not knowing either.
"If that is where you feel is right, I will follow." she slowly got up, struggling with the dress.
"You alright?" Howl asked her as he slowly led her to a hill.
"Yes, this dress is just fairly clumsy." she muttered, not noticing the arrow whipping by the back of Howl's head.
"Don't worry, our next stop is going to be easier to relax in." Howl said, leading her a bit out of the village. "I hope so. I'm not sure how much longer I can go on, wearing this." Cupa smiled, following Howl. Howl smiled back.
"There's also a changing area. I kinda made us a house, just for us. You, me and our daughter." Howl said, talking about Reese, the Wither they had just adopted into their family. "Sound good?"
"Sounds great! I can't wait to see it." Cupa looked ecstatic, with a big smile on her face. Howl smiled at her.
"I even made a small glass balcony for you and I to have our date on." Howl said, smiling.
"So, let's hurry up and see it!" she said, excited. He nodded, smiling as they soon came upon a hill.
"Almost there." he said before they walked up the hill with a large two floor house in front of them made of wood.
"I didn't have anything to paint it, but I did it last night. There's a living room, a guest room, our room, Reese's room, 3 bathrooms, a library and a backyard with a fence." Howl said. "The glass balcony is just a bit of a walk from our room."
"It looks amazing! How did you do something so fast?" she asked, her jaw dropping.
"Well, these new shoes Virgo gave me for Christmas makes me really fast." Howl said, pointing to his shoes.
"Herme's Boots?" she asked. She remembered a strange person a long time ago that had a pair. He was muttering about something called the Hallow and Corrupters, so she kept her distance.
"Actually, inventory says they're called Pegasus Boots." Howl said.
"Hmm. I thought those were only useful when going in a straight line." Cupa responded, tilting her head.
"They are." Howl replied. "I just run backwards and throw down blocks until I made walls and THEN made the interior." Howl said, opening the door for her.
"So the interior doesn't look nearly as good?" she asked, wondering how he looked setting up each individual thing.
"It does, but it's kinda plain, because I wanted you and Reesie to decide how the house should be." Howl said, smiling.
"I see... We really are like a married couple." she said, hugging Howl from behind. Howl blushed, looking at her before he smiled.
"We might be a married couple eventually."
"Wh-what are you saying?! I-I mean, I won't deny, it's not like I don't like the thought, it's just..."
"Too soon?"
"... Yeah, it's a little embarrassing."
"I understand." he said with a smile. "We barely even know each other."
"Exactly. We should probably get to know each other a little more." Cupa replied.
"We should, especially if we're planning a long relationship." Howl said.
"... Hey Howl, does it feel like we're being watched?" Cupa asked. Howl shook his head, holding up a piece of paper.
"Why would you ask that?" he said holding up the piece of paper to her eyes. "Remain oblivious to the feeling. Pretend to ignore it." the paper read.
"... Oh well, I guess it's nothing." she said, shrugging. He smiled also, putting the paper in his pocket as they walked into the house.
"Follow me." Howl said, leading her up the stairs.
"O-oh, H-Howl, I'm not sure I'm ready f-for this so suddenly..." Cupa mumbled, blushing intensely.
"... I'm taking you to the balcony, not bed." Howl said, passing the bedroom.
"O-oh, don't mind what I just said..." Cupa mumbled, her blush getting deeper. He chuckled as he led her to the balcony, which had a table near the wall and underneath them was completely made of glass with a small Nether Brick fence serving as a rail surrounding it. "... Wow, it's a little terrifying." she said, looking below her.
"I can change it if you want me to... It does seem a bit dangerous." Howl said.
"No, no, it's fine. I don't mind." she replied, waving her hands back and forth. Howl nodded slowly, leading her over to the table before looking out to the nearby forest.
"What would you like for dinner my dear?"
"What would one normally serve on a date?" Cupa asked.
"... I don't know." Howl said. "Well, then maybe just the average dinner?" Cupa asked, shrugging. Howl nodded.
"Alright, steak, pork or chicken?"
"Chicken, my good sir." Cupa replied. Howl nodded, smiling as he looked at a nearby chest.
"Go ahead and look around the house while you wait." Howl said before going downstairs to the kitchen.
"Hmm..." Cupa sighed, putting her head in her hand.
"You alright up there?" Howl called out, grabbing a tray as he made their plates.
"I'm doing fine!" she responded. Howl nodded, coming up soon after.
"Come, let's eat." Cupa said, motioning towards the seat farthest from the door. Howl nodded, walking to the table as he set their dinner on the table. "This looks good!" she said, getting a fork and knife out. Howl smiled and sat across from her.
"It's my mother's recipe." Howl said, smiling as he thought about his adopted mother and how he missed her.
"Your mother must be a very skilled chef." Cupa replied. Howl nodded, smiling.
"Dig in."
"Thank you, I will." she said, slicing the meat up. Howl smiled, beginning to eat with his fork and knife.
"... Does the air around there seem like when a heat wave strikes?" Cupa asked Howl, looking behind him. Howl nodded before looking up at her.
"I'VE GOT YOU NOW!" a familiar voice shouted, as a shadow lept from the ceiling. just then, within the distorted space, Herobrine appeared.
"Hey, Howl I need to borrow a cu-OH GOD A GLASS FLOOR!" he shouted, landing on the glass floor, creating cracks all along it. Howl gasped.
"Cupa!" he shouted before suddenly leaping over the table as he grabbed Cupa and pushed her through the doorway and into the house to safety.
"AAAAAAHHHHH!" Herobrine shouted as the floor shattered. the new arrival then fell right after the glass below Howl collapsed.
"Wh-whoooaaaaaa!" the girl flailed her arms in the air, trying and failing at keeping balance. Howl gasped, falling down as he reached out for Cupa's hand. She reached out, grabbing for his hand but she missed.
"HOWL!" she cried out as he began falling. He then turned away before kicking off of the house wall and toward where the other girl was going to fall.
"What are you doing?!" the girl asked him, squirming to get out of his grasp.
"Saving your life!" Howl said as they neared flat ground. He quickly flipped over, seeing as they were out of reach of the glass so that he would take the most force from the fall as he grunted, hitting the ground with a sickening snap.
"... We have got to stop meeting like this." he said with a weak smile to the girl before his consciousness faded and his head leaned to the side, his eyes closed and his breathing stopping.
Chapter 11: Um... A guy named Devon? XD (I'm running out of rhymes.)
Questions to be answered:
Who is this girl?
What will come of this truce between the Undead mobs and Whistle Grass Village?
Was Herobrine on crack? And if so, where in Hell did he get it?
