Epilogue: 2 Months Later
Standing in the shadows of the Council Building, Willow smiled as she looked out across the grass. So much had changed in her time in Englad. She had changed while here. It surprised Willow to know that she came to England thinking she was in love with someone and ready to spend the summer letting that love grow, only to find herself in a relationship with the last person she ever expected.
After Tara had let her in, Willow learned so much about her best friend and girlfriend. She learned that Tara had been in love with her for a few years now, and possibly longer than even Tara realized. She also learned that the blonde would lose herself in her thoughts of Willow, which was why she always seemed to be everywhere but there.
"Hey," the voice from her thoughts pulled her back to reality, and Willow smiled at the sight of Tara walking slowly towards her.
"Hey there," Willow responded, a huge smile gracing her features as Tara came to stop before her. Stealing a quick kiss, Willow took Tara's hand in hers. "How are you feeling?" she asked, squeezing Tara's hand gently.
"I'm okay. Still a little sore, but I should be good as new in no time," Tara promised as she released the redhead's hand and wrapped her arms around her waist. "You okay?"
"Uh huh, just thinking about everything. So much has changed this summer," Willow explained, turning her head slightly so she could look into Tara's blue eyes. "You've changed. I've changed. We've changed."
"Sweetie, that's bound to happen. It's called growing up," Tara joked, kissing Willow's shoulder lightly before looking back into her eyes.
"You know what I mean."
"Yeah, I know," Tara whispered, squeezing Willow slightly.
Willow smiled as Tara held her, enjoying the feel of her girlfriend's arms wrapped around her. "I love you," Willow said, turning in Tara's arm to look at her.
"I love you, too, Sweetie," Tara responded, leaning down to brush her lips to Willow's gently.
After kissing for a few moments, Willow and Tara slowly pulled apart and made their way back up to the house. "Have you talked to Kennedy?" Tara asked, looking at Willow curiously.
"Yeah, she's excited to be heading back home. She said that it surprised her how much she's going to enjoy being able to play games again," Willow said, turning to smirk at Tara. "She also keeps asking me if you're alright."
"Hmm...I guess my getting shot solved a lot of problems," Tara told her, looking into Willow's green eyes.
"Lets not test that theory ever again. I never want to see you laying in a hospital bed again," Willow admitted, her green eyes showing the sadness at the haunting memory.
"Sweetie, I can't promise I'll never end up hurt again, but I will promise that I'll try my best not to end up in a hospital. Okay?" Tara promised, wrapping Willow into a hug and holding her close.
"Good," Willow whispered, holding Tara. Willow smiled as she held onto Tara, grateful to have the woman she loved safe in her arms. Life was good.
