Chapter 9: Escaping with Answers

Chris woke up with a major headache. Everything was blurry. He was on a soft feeling bed. He thought to himself. "Aw, thank God. It was all a dream." Chris thought he was home in his bed. He explained the headache as getting drunk the night before and suffering from a hangover. Suddenly he noticed a big red cross on the back of a white bullet proof vest.

"Shit" Chris forced the single word through his lips.

"Chris! You are alright" Rebecca ran over to the cot and checked his vitals.

"Yeah, I'm fine, but what happened?" Chris said rubbing his forehead.

"You fainted because you were poisoned by the venom. I was able to give you the vaccine before we lost you too." Rebecca helped Chris up from the cot. Chris looked around and saw they were one man short.

"Where's Jill?" Chris asked concernedly

"She went to investigate the back of the mansion. If I were you I would stay clear. She radioed me saying there were some type of mutated spiders and lizards of some sort.

"What?! I need to help her." Rebecca put a hand on his chest and stopped him from leaving.

"She is ok. She managed to take them down herself. She is a tougher cookie than you give her credit for." Rebecca's words made Chris think for a moment.

"… Yeah, maybe you're right, but I still need to do what I can to help us get out of here." Rebecca then reluctantly agreed to discharge him from her makeshift hospital. Chris left room and did his own thing. Chris walked back in to the library. Deciding he wanted to learn more about Umbrella and this so called "T-Virus". He saw a binder with the words STARS down the side. He reached for it as fast as possible. A sudden pain shot up his forearm. He looked down and saw the bandages. He used his other hand. Upon opening he saw in the table of contents. It had every member's name in it. Chris flipped to the page that had his profile on it. He read his file. It contained his photo, age, sex, date of birth, location of birth, parent and sibling information, home address, etc. Chris went pale. "How do they know all of this?" Chris saw everyone's profile with the exception of Rebecca.

He quickly put that down and searched the other books. There were some about marketed products, insurance, HQ locations, and viral research. Chris knew he couldn't stay there all night and read it so he took what he needed. He took the schematics and floor plans for the mansion. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a file called "The Key". In his curiosity he pulled the file and accidentally spilled all of the papers all over the floor. He noticed that there was no key of any sort in it. There wasn't even a key card. He picked up the few papers that fell out of folder. Chris looked at the paper. On top of the first paper was a title Chris knew. It read "Moonlight Sonata" Chris looked at it in complete shock. "Is this come kind of joke? Hmmm, I used to be able to play this as a child. Too bad I stopped playing piano a long time ago." Chris decided to fold it up and leave the library to rendezvous with Jill. Chris walked down the hallway and heard a few piano keys being played. Chris ran in finding it convenient that there was a piano right after he found the sheet music. He walked in and saw Jill sitting there playing "Canon in D". Chris didn't want to disturbed her so he stayed quiet and decided to lean against the doorway. He ended up leaning and put pressure on his cut leg.

'Ah" Chris gasped and got Jill's attention.

"Chris you're ok? Jill ran up to him.

"Yeah, I'll live. Why did you stop? Canon is one of my favorites." Chris walked over and sat down at the piano.

"You play piano?" Jill was curious to see if Chris shared the same interest in musical instrument that she did.

"I did when I was little but gave it up after I lost my parents." Chris started to play a slow song. After a few verses it started to pick up. Jill knew the tune he was playing.

"Chopin Nocturne in C sharp minor" Chris smiled as he did a finger drill on the keys.

"You know your music." Chris tried to cut on the small talk. "What did you find out when I was unconscious?" Jill sighed and looked down as Chris played.

"I found Enrico."

*FLASHBACK*

I wanted to help Enrico, but he was badly injured and scared beyond belief.

"Enrico!" Jill ran up to him and slides on her knees.

"Enrico what happened… is that a bullet wound?" Jill put pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding.

"Jill… be careful *cough, cough* we have a traitor in our midst." Jill stopped and stared at Enrico dead in the eyes.

"What?!" Enrico sputtered and spit up blood

"We have a traitor in STARS. The Traitor is… *POP*. A gun fired from behind Jill and the bullet hit Enrico and killed him. Jill turned to see the silhouette of a man run away.

"Damn it" Jill bowed her head and then closed Enrico's eyelids.

"What the Hell is going on here?" Jill had gotten up

*End of Flashback

Chris thought fairly hard. He managed to not mess up the song as his concentration strayed. He stood up and walked away from the piano.

"Chris?" Jill didn't walk after.

"I just need time to think. You know I always need my alone time." Chris gave a forced smirk to Jill. Jill was not as good a profiler as Chris but she could tell something was wrong. She simply nodded and let him go. Jill continued to play songs. This helped keep her sanity. The piano always moved her in such a way that no words could explain. The sound, the feel, the rhythm, they all were in her eyes life. She played Fur Elise and attracted the attention of Barry.

"Wow Jill, I haven't heard you play piano in years." Barry crossed his arms and leaned against the doorframe on his shoulder.

"Yeah, that is because I don't have time for it." Barry gave her a disappointed look

"There is always time for the people and things you love in life." Barry got Jill thinking of her father. "I haven't talked with him in a while. That is first thing on my list of things to do when I get out of here." You're right Barry, but my life is too hectic especially now.

"Now is temporary, but tomorrow is forever." Jill smiled at Barry and gave him a hug.

"Did you find anything new?" Jill finished her hug to get serious with Barry once more.

"I got a one way radio transmission from Brad. They are currently looking for us and have dispatched other choppers around our position.

"THAT'S GREAT! When will they get here?" Barry put his head down in shame.

"We have no way of contacting them so technically they don't even know if we are alive or where we are." Jill shook her head.

"Well we have to do something about it." Barry nodded

"By way I talked with Chris in the hallway. He seemed to have a heavy mind." Jill sighed and agreed.

"He does that every now and then." Barry smiled and reached into his back pocket.

"He told me to give this to you." Barry handed Jill a few folded pieces of paper. Jill gasped and then quickly calmed herself.

"Moonlight Sonata, this was my first real piano piece. My mom taught me how to play it and it was her absolute favorite song." Jill smiled to herself and put it on the music stand on the piano.

"You don't seem so emotional about it. Usually anything about your mom makes you sad." Barry put his hand on Jill's shoulder.

"Now is not the time for tears." Barry got the vibe that Jill wasn't so light hearted at that point in time. Jill started to play. Every note had a life of its own. It hit Jill one at a time and she felt it just teleport her to a world of bliss. Its dark demeanor had a passionate tone when Jill pronounced every note so that it meant something. She closed her eyes and roled her head with the music. Her body started to sway with the song. Barry had never seen music overcome someone like it did Jill. The song went on and so did Jill's emotional attachment to the piece. When the song came to an end the wall shuttered and shook. It slowly opened like a door. Jill turned on her flashlight and pointed it down the tunnel. Barry and Jill looked at each other and then the two of them went down the tunnel.

Claire walked around her shared apartment with a 2 year old baby boy named Michael. Claire was babysitting for her cousin Lauren. They baby was laughing and playing with some plastic containers as Claire prepared some dinner for her and her roommate. She had on some Italian music on and sung a little of it to make the baby laugh more. Claire rolled ground beef to which formed an oddly shaped meatball. Her roommate walked by and picked up the happy baby.

"What are you doing Mikey? What are you doing?" The baby screamed with happiness as Claire's roommate talked in a deep playful voice. The phone started to ring. Claire quickly turned down the music and put the meatballs down. She grabbed a paper towel and used it as a makeshift glove to grab her home phone.

"Hello, Claire speaking." Claire heard a man on the other side of the phone.

"Yes, hello Claire we would like to speak with you for a moment. It is very important." The man was interrupted

"Normal people would address themselves before they try to get the trust of others on important subjects." Claire heard a sigh on the other end of the phone.

"Yes ma'am, I am Agent Carter of the U.S. Marshals. I have some news that I think would be useful to you." Claire questioned the authenticity of the man.

"What branch?"

"Witness Protection"

"Well I am sorry but I don't know anyone who is under protection of the U.S. Marshals." Claire was ready to hang up but what the man said next caused her to drop her phone.

Chris walked through the courtyard and saw that Jill was really at work when he was unconscious. The fountain in the back courtyard was drained and had stairs leading down it. He followed the staircase and ended up in some kind of underground tunnel system and facility almost. He drew his sidearm and walked through the narrow burrowed tunnels. He opened one specific door that had a lot of small vines coming out from it. He walked in and saw the roots of some type of enormous plant. It seemed to be conscience and grabbed Chris with one of its vines. Chris went to shoot at it, but it squeezed him so hard that he dropped his only projectile weapon. Chris yelped in pain, but knew that it was useless. No one was close enough to hear him. This was it for Chris. He knew he fought a good fight but this plant was asphyxiating him. He just tried to let it happen. He started to get light headed when a loud thud came from beneath him. He looked down to see Rebecca staring at him with a wide eyed expression on her face.

"Rebecca!"

"Chris!

"Get me down from here." Chris pleaded with Rebecca, but she had no idea what to do.

"What do I do? I can't shoot because I might hit you." Chris thought for a minute and looked around. He noticed a thick brown book. That was one of the books about the different creatures in the mansion. He remembered a similar picture to the plant that currently held him captive.

"Use the book. It will show you how to kill it." Rebecca ran to the book and secured it.

"I will be right back, just hold on." Chris did nothing other than get flailed around by a plant.

Jill came out of the secret passage that she had uncovered a little while ago. She wanted to look for a few more supplies but didn't know what room she hadn't covered. She remembered one room. "The small room I walked by before finding the piano. There could be something useful in there." Jill walked into the small and found a few papers, plants, scrap metal and wooden planks. Under all of the crud in the room she found an old 1911 .45 ACP. She brass checked it and the ejected the magazine. It had a full clip thankfully.

"I wonder if the bullets will still fire." Jill heard shuffling behind her. To her convenience there was one of those creatures. Jill put one hand on her hip and aimed with the other hand. She lined up the sights with the forehead of the monster. She cocked the hammer and disengaged the safety and pressed against the grip safety. She squeezed the triggered and fired. Jill killed the attacker and hurt her wrist from the abnormally strong recoil. Jill has fired 1911s before with one hand and it hasn't bothered her. She took one more look at the cartridges. She sighed in stupidity as she read it. "Yeah, right I should have guessed. +P ammunition, smart girl very smart" Jill thought sarcastically. She inspected the outside of the gun. It was old but still in working condition.

"Uh oh, the barrel bushing looks damaged. I guess I can't use this too much." Jill decided to use the pistol solely on the stronger assailants. Jill put it in her belt and continued looking through rooms. One room she had gone into had a surplus of creatures in it. The quickly overwhelmed her and caused her to scurry backwards on her back. She crawled for dear life. Suddenly gun fire rang out. The creatures one by one lost chunks of their heads. Jill turned around to see Barry offering a hand.

"Thanks Barry you saved my ass." Barry brushed the dirt off of Jill's uniform

"Thank god I came when I did. A minute longer and you would have been a Jill sandwich." Jill chuckled at his joke with uneasiness in her voice.

"Jill, I found flares that we could use to signal for help." Jill got jumpy all of a sudden

"Dear God thank you." Jill squeezed Barry a little too tight.

"Jill you can let go now." Jill apologized and backed off.

"Wait we have to find the others. You get the flares ready and I will get Chris Rebecca and Wesker." Barry nodded and ran away.

Chris continued to be flailed around and started to get sick. He was just waiting for Rebecca. It felt like in no time Rebecca had returned with the serum and was ready to inject it into vegetation.

"Where do I inject the serum?" Chris yelled "ANYWHERE." Rebecca looked around for something to get up to its level. There were some really damaged sets of stairs. She saw no other option and ran up the stairs. The plant was spitting some sort of acidic liquid and swung its vines around to stop her. She managed to dodge them and right before she got to the top something wrapped around her ankle. It pulled her into midair. She dropped the syringe and it landed square in one of its vines. It didn't inject the serum yet because it hadn't been depressed yet. Rebecca thought really quickly and ejected the magazine from her handgun and threw it at the end of the needle. It managed to inject the serum into the plant. After a few seconds the plant withered and died. Chris lay on the floor for a little just so his stomach would settle. He got up and heard a transmission on his radio. It was Jill and she sounded joyous.

"Chris, Rebecca come in, we have a way out. I repeat we have a way out. Go to the main hall. Meet Barry and I there. Barry says Wesker I here too." Chris and Rebecca looked at each other. The two of them ran as fast as they could through the halls and corridors. They heard gun fire. It sounded closer and closer as they ran towards Jill and Barry. They opened the doors and saw Jill and Barry surrounded by What Chris identified from the Library records as "hunters" and "Crimson heads". Rebecca and Chris unholstered their Samurai Edges and opened fire. The hunters didn't take damage from Chris or Rebecca because their backs were armored. Chris pushed over a crimson head and got into the small group. One of the crimson heads took a swing at Chris and Chris knocked it away with one hand and followed up with a series of machine gun punches to its chest. The creature stumbled backwards. Chris positioned his feet and stuck his arms out in front of him and pointed them down his center line. The same crimson head returned its attacks. Chris continued to block each attack. Jill noticed how calm he remained when blocking. The fight look choreographed. Jill obviously knew it wasn't but it looked like it because of how calm and pronounced Chris's attack, blocks, and movements were. After Chris knocked it back once more the monster went for and over hand scratch. Chris caught the monster's hand as it came down and punched the thing right in its nose. It all looked like one fluid motion. It was extremely fast and Jill didn't even see it happened until it was over. She also noticed that his fist was vertical and not horizontal like his normal boxing punch. The Crimson Head fell backwards dead with its nose smashed into the back of his skull. Barry was finishing the last of the assailants when Jill went over to Chris.

"Chris, what fighting style was that?" Chris looked over to Jill.

"I will explain later, but now we have to leave." Barry signaled for them to go down the stair beneath the main staircase. The all went down without question and Barry closed the door behind them.

The walls turned from tile and stone to steel, and iron. There were green lights that illuminated the path. Barry told them to go into the next door on the right. The doors were automatic and startled the group. Inside they recognized the backside of one of their team mates.

"Wesker you're alright." Jill exclaimed right before she heard the cocking of a hammer from a gun. Wesker paid no attention to them. He was too busy typing away on a computer. They turned around and saw Barry holding his magnum at them.

"Barry what are you doing?" Jill asked nervously

"Don't blame poor old Barry. He has no choice considering his better half and his children are on the line." Wesker turned around and pointed his gun at them too.

"What are you talking about? Wesker put the gun down." Wesker snickered at them

"I'm very proud of you Chris. You truly are one of my best." Wesker pointed his gun closer to Chris's face.

"Stop it Wesker." Jill hissed

"Ah, I almost forgot about you Jill. You too are one of my favorite. Your versatility and brains are truly gifts to be recognized. Sadly they are going to go to waste." Wesker stared at them through his black glasses.

"Wesker, you bastard you are the one who betrayed us." Chris snapped at Wesker angrily.

"Was it that obvious? Of course I did, this day was in STARS' future ever since it was created." Wesker started to rant on.

"Umbrella formed STARS to be guinea pigs for battle data on BOWs. Considering that most of the team was wiped out I would say it was successful." The three of them were ready to pounce on the traitor.

"How long has Umbrella been slipping you a paycheck?" Chris asked through his teeth.

"Ah, that is where you are mistaken. I have always been working for Umbrella. Before the formation of STARS I worked for them." Wesker signaled for Barry to leave.

"Why Wesker, why did you have to kill everyone for data?" Wesker turned his attention to Jill.

"I need this to help form new weapons and how we could use them on the battlefield." Jill shook her head in disbelief

"You aren't capable of this Wesker." Wesker darted his stare at Chris.

"Oh I am very capable of deed like this. Take this for example." Wesker pointed his gun at Rebecca and fired hitting her square in the chest. Rebecca fell back motionless on the ground.

"REBECCA!" Chris and Jill lunged top help her.

"Hold it you two. We don't need any other unnecessary deaths." Jill went for a round house kick for the back of Wesker's head. He saw it out of the corner of his eye and ducked. Chris also went to attack Wesker. Wesker pushed Jill back and moved extremely quickly to avoid Chris's jab. He hit Chris with the butt of his gun.

"Not so smart on your part. You two don't even know the start of what Umbrella is capable of." Wesker turned to his computer and hit a few keys.

"Witness the full power of Umbrella. This is the perfect life form. It was spawned by the T-Virus hence the code name "Tyrant". Look at it… it's beautiful. The large silhouette suddenly was illuminated by light. It had a grotesque face, with receded lips. It had large claws on its right hand only. It had pale gray and was at least 7ft tall. Its heart was exposed and the thud it made with every beat was permeating throughout the enclosed room. The great being looked down on Wesker as he stood and basked in its marvel. Before Wesker could say anything else it thrusted its claw through Wesker abdomen. Chris and Jill gasped as it picked him up with one hand. The Tyrant tossed Wesker as if he was a ragdoll. Jill drew her firearm and started to shoot. Her shot hit him square in the chest. The Tyrant stopped and looked at the bullet hole in his chest. The wound healed itself up and the Behemoth walked towards Jill. Chris sprayed a barrage of bullets at the back of the Tyrant and managed to direct the creature's direction away from Jill. The two of them hit the Tyrant with everything they had. After a while the large being fell. Chris ran over to Rebecca and turned her over.

"Are you ok?" Rebecca slowly got up.

"Yeah, I'm fine." she used Chris's shoulder for support.

"Good thing you were wearing your bullet proof vest." Jill said as she gave her a big hug.

"Hurry guys let's get out of here." Chris signaled for them to follow.

"Hold on, we can't let these things survive. We have to destroy everything." Jill slowly walked over to the self-destruct button. She looked back at Chris for his approval. Chris gave her a nod. She looked over at the Tyrant and then Wesker. "Burn in hell" Jill said under her breath before she pushed the button. Suddenly red lights turned on everywhere. Sirens went off along with a female voice stating that the self-destruct sequence has been activated. The three of them left the room and went down the hallway to an elevator lift. Barry was there with the flares.

"Guys, you are alright." Barry went and gave all three of them a hug.

"I'm so sorry for what I have done, but I had to because…" Jill cut of Barry in mid-sentence.

"It's ok Barry we understand. If my family was in trouble I would do the same." Barry hugged them again to show his gratitude towards their forgiveness. Suddenly roars came from down the hall.

"You two go we will take care of this." Rebecca looked at Barry and asked him to help her. He accepted and went with her.

"Chris, Jill launch this on the helipad it is our only hope for survival." Barry handed them the flare-launcher. The two of them stepped into the elevator and went all the way up. When they got to the helipad the sun was rising. Jill never felt so happy to feel the sun on her face. Her moments of relief were interrupted by Chris.

"Jill, help me set this up." Jill strolled over to him and helped him. They launched the flare as high as it would possibly go. It gave off a bright white light and slowly hovered downwards.

The two of them send up a second flare right before they heard a noise in the elevator. Barry and Rebecca walked out to meet them.

"You guys are alright?" They nodded and were obviously out of breath. They walked over to the helipad and suddenly the earth shimmered and shook. The flare-launcher fell into a black hole in the ground. The four of them went slowly to investigate the hole. Right as they look down into it a gray figure jumps out from bellow. It landed and shook the entire foundation. The Tyrant was back. They all unholstered their firearms.

"We can't let this roam free. First we destroy this thing, and then we leave." Chris instructed them and received no argument. Chris and Barry attempted to flank the tyrant on the right while Jill, and Rebecca on the left. The bombardment of bullet angered the Tyrant and caused him to lunge at Rebecca and knock her back a few yards. She immediately got back to her feet and continued to fire. The Tyrant turned his attention to Rebecca and slowly walked towards her. Rebecca kept on firing until she heard her gun *click and then lock open. She went to put in a new magazine but the Tyrant knocked the gun out of her hand. Rebecca was scared and curled into a ball in the corner as the large creature prepared to finish her off. Chris suddenly intervened and covered Rebecca with his body as the Behemoth clawed at them. Chris took the claw to the vest. Chris had three giant claw marks on the back of his vest. Barry tried to redirect the attention of the Tyrant by using his magnum. It didn't bother the monster but not enough. Jill remembered that she had a 1911 with +P ammunition. She pulled it out and started to fire alongside Barry. The rounds from the 1911 combined with the magnum stopped the Tyrant dead in its tracks or made it stumble backwards. This pissed off the monster and made it go after Jill and Barry. As Chris helped Rebecca up to her feet and get her gun back they heard a helicopter. The insignia of the incoming helicopter was a STARS insignia. It was Brad back to save them.

"Use this to kill that thing." Brad had dropped down a 4 barreled rocket launcher. Chris ran to pick it up. Jill fired the last few shots. After her last shot with the 1911 the barrel exploded. She tossed it down and shook her hand.

"MOVE!" Chris yelled and Barry and Jill looked at Chris and ran. The Tyrant turned around and Chris launched a rocket right at its heart. He fired and the rocket was propelled from the barrel of the launcher. The tyrant knocked away the rocket before it hit him. It put a huge hole in the wall.

"Barry, stun it so I can get a clean shot." Barry pulled the last magnum bullet from his pouch. He kissed it and put in the cylinder of his colt anaconda. He took aim right at the Tyrant's eye.

"Don't fail me now." Barry squeezed the trigger and shot the bullet into its right eye. The creature screamed and went out of control. Chris saw is opening and took it.

"For STARS" Chris launched the rocket and it made contact with the Tyrant's heart. Chunks of flesh were sent hurdling in all directions. Chris and the others waited for the smoke to clear. Slowly the location of the Tyrant was empty only covered with bits of flesh and lots of blood.

"Chris come on it is time to go." Jill yelled out to Chris as Barry and Rebecca climbed into the helicopter. Chris smiled at Jill and walked into the chopper.

"All set?" brad asked. Everyone nodded and they flew off into the rising sun.

All four of them stared at the mansion expecting a show. In a matter of seconds the mansion imploded and all the remained was a few flying boards and the foundation.

"Things are never going to be the same are they?" Jill asked Chris who had a stern thoughtful look on his face.

"No, not after what happened here today. This is only just the beginning." Chris tried to give Jill a heart meant smile. Jill took what she got and looked at everyone else on the helicopter. Rebecca was out cold. She was very tired by the looks of it. Barry was looking at a family photo and seemed overly eager to see them. Chris stared blankly at the sun. Jill could tell he had a heavy mind. She herself was feeling tired. She decided to put her head down on Chris's shoulder. She ended up falling asleep relatively fast. Chris started to stroke her hair. Barry took note.

"You know you two would make a great couple." Barry suggested at Chris who simply gave him a friendly look.

"We are just partners." Barry didn't believe that. He knew they both meant more to each other than that. The only thing is they didn't know it.

"Chris I haven't seen a girl make you smile like that ever. Heck for that matter no one makes you smile like the way she does." Chris once again gave him a friendly smile and said

"We are just partners." Barry didn't want him to be pushed in an uncomfortable position so he stopped.

"We are nearing our destination." Brad said to the tiresome group. Chris nudged Jill to wake her up. All it did was make Jill wrap her arms around him as if he was a teddy bear. "She must be having a good dream" Chris thought to himself.

"I won't wake her just yet. She needs her sleep probably more than any of us." Barry agreed and prepared for landing.

"We are here." Chris could see the Raccoon City Police Department sign and insignia. He sighed with relief that they were home. At the helipad stood chief Irons. He had two other police at his side. He had a somewhat mad and disappointed look on his face. He held his hands behind his back. The helicopter slowly landed. The engine cut off and the doors opened. Barry walked out with Rebecca while she rubbed her eyes and yawned. Chris stepped out and turned back around to get Jill. He carried her from the helicopter. She wrapped her arms around his neck and put her head on his chest. She was almost like a child the way she clinged to him. Barry and Rebecca saluted the Chief and he nodded. He let them pass and go inside. Chris walked over to the Chief and looked him square in the eyes.

"Sir" Chris said respectively

"Is this everyone who survived?" Chief was completely flabbergasted.

"Yes, no one else made it. I request a meeting with you whenever you get the chance." The chief nodded his head.

"Of course, whatever you need." Chief seemed surprisingly compassionate

"I would also like you permission to continue investigation into these events." As Chris asked this Chief Irons' whole personality changed.

"What investigation? You mean what happened to your team. There will be no major investigation, only a minor one conducted by detectives. We are putting a time limit on the search." Chief's snappiness rubbed Chris in the worst way.

"Excuse me Sir, but you lost too many good officers to cancel an investigation. I know who was behind it all." Chris noticed the chief look away for a moment to think. His carotid was pulsing and he was nibbling at his bottom lip.

"I want you and the others to get medical attention and then I want your reports on my desk tomorrow morning." Chris didn't feel the need to carry on an argument with the chief. Chris just walked past him and went on in. Chris carried Jill into the main hall where Rebecca and Barry were waiting for an ambulance. Officers started to swarm and crowd them. They wanted to know what happened and what not.

"Guys leave them alone. They are in need of medical attention." Valerie shouted from the second level.

Chris sat down at the statue and fountain in the entrance of the main hall. Jill continued to sleep in his arms. Valerie showed up a minute or so later.

"Hey, are you fellows alright?" Valerie came and handed them all bottles of water.

"Yeah, we are waiting for an ambulance to take us to the hospital." Barry responded.

"Good, you look like you need it." She continued her conversation with Barry and Rebecca while Chris just looked at Jill. She started to shake and twitch in her sleeps. Chris knew she was having a dream plain and simple. Then she started to shake profusely and whimper. She was starting to say words. Chris started to worry?

"Jill, wake up." Chris sat on the floor and put his back against the fountain. This was so Jill could properly lie down. She started to dig her nails into his neck. It didn't bother him.

"Hmmm…Joseph…mmmmmmm" Jill started to name the names of people that were killed. Valerie and the others kneeled down next to her to try and wake her up.

"no,no,no…FOREST…stop." Jill started to get louder and attracted the attention of other officers.

"Jill, please wake up. Come on wake up." Chris and the others tried shaking her and nudging her.

"AAAAAAAAAH" Jill screamed loudly and woke up. The first thing she saw as Chris looking at her with a scared look on his face.

"They are all dead." Jill started to tear up and she put her head on Chris's shoulder. Jill was right they were all dead. There was nothing that could be done. The nightmare has just begun.
