Steam blurred Hermione's vision as she stepped through the barrier between platforms 9 and 10, and a smile spread across her face as the Hogwarts Express came into view. Her chocolate brown eyes scanned the platform, looking for a petite blonde girl.

"Looking for someone?"

Hermione smiled at the familiar voice and turned in excitement, "Daphne! I was beginning to get worried," Hermione exclaimed as she embraced her friend, "I haven't hardly heard from you all summer."

"Well I've been away in Greece, you see, and my brother has been hogging our owl." Daphne smiled as she hugged her friend back, "I swear, why we have to share a blood owl I'll never know."

Laughing, the pair of them started to make their way to the front of the train to find a good compartment. However, a shriek from Hermione's mother stopped them abruptly. "Hermione Granger! I do believe you're forgetting something!"

A groan escaped from Hermione's lips, "Buggers. I forgot about Julius."

Daphne giggled, "I don't blame you. I'd forget my brother too if I could. Although, it's kind of hard when we're twins."

Hermione smirked and turned towards the direction of her mother and brother, "Well come on then, Julius!"

The small brunette ran towards them clumsily, only to trip on his own two feet. Hermione groaned and hid her face in her hands, "I swear, if that boy ends up in Hufflepuff I'm going to kill him."

Daphne rolled her eyes and grabbed Hermione's arm, dragging her towards Julius. They helped the boy up, waved to Hermione's mother, and boarded the train. "Okay Julius, go to the front of the train like the rest of the first years. We're heading towards the middle. If you need anything come find me." Hermione told him curtly, turned, and walked towards the back.

"But Hermione!" Julius whined.

Hermione stopped abruptly and turned, "Don't whine to me Julius Granger. Now go, and only come find me if you really need me."

Harry, Draco, Ron, and Neville rushed together towards the train, boarding it last minute. This earned them a warning glance from one of the conductors. "The train doesn't wait boys. Remember that."

The four boys mumbled "Yes sir," and made their way to look for a compartment.

"Great, now the only compartments are going to be with first years," Harry groaned, "Why did you have to take so long Neville?"

Neville's chubby cheeks flushed a bright red, "Hey! I couldn't leave Trevor behind."

"It's okay Neville, we'll find something," Ron comforted him as he looked around.

"Look, even the first year compartments are full this year!" Draco groaned, "Oh wait, I think I see some open seats over here." He slid open the compartment door, only to slam it right back shut.

"What the bloody hell was that about?" Harry exclaimed, "I saw open seats, why did you slam it shut?"

"I don't know what you're talking about, no open seats." Draco said matter-of-factly and started walking in the other direction, "Let's look down here."

Suddenly a petite blonde girl opened the compartment door back up, her piercing blue eyes staring right at Draco. "What the hell is the matter with you? Barging into our compartment like that and then just slamming the door. That was rather rude, especially for a Gryffindor."

Author's Note: Hey guys, I know this is really thrown together and not very good. I'm going on a few hours of sleep and I'm really out of practice. Hehe.

However I'm hoping to be writing more… and getting better
