A/N: First off we want to say thank you to everyone that has reviewed, alerted and put this story in their favorite so far. You guys are awesome! Secondly, this story is going to be wrapping up fairly soon. In fact I think we are only planning on a couple more chapters.
It was surprising how much time could go by without truly realizing it. Before either of them was fully aware, almost four months had passed since the team had wrapped up the kidnapping case and since Kensi and Deeks had gotten engaged, something that hadn't gone unnoticed for long.
While they had kept the engagement a secret for a while, Kensi had forgotten to take her ring off one day and walked into OPS with it on only for Nell to almost instantly zone in on it. It had resulted in an ear splitting squeal that had even managed to make Hetty jump. The questions and badgering that had followed had been enough to put awkward smiles on their faces as they tried to calm Nell down while dealing with the glares and accusatory remarks from Sam and Callen, both surprisingly upset that they were not informed about the sudden change in Kensi and Deeks relationship.
It had taken a while to appease everyone and to answer all of their questions before everyone started to come to the agreement that while the engagement had happened rather quickly, they were all happy for the couple. It had also led to Nell offering her services with helping plan the wedding. Apparently the petite woman was big into weddings and planning them.
"How about these?" Nell pointed to a bouquet of pink and white flowers.
"No." Kensi shook her head, not a huge fan of the color pink.
Nell sighed and continued to flip through the book in front of her. Kensi, as it appeared, was rather picky about a lot of different things and had started to slightly annoy Nell.
"What types of flowers do you like or want?" Nell huffed lightly. "You and Deeks have already decided to go super traditional with a black and white tux and a white dress. All that you need is a church to make the wedding one-hundred percent traditional."
Kensi scrunched up her nose at that, neither she nor Deeks wanted a church wedding. In fact they didn't want anything all that big to begin with. The only people that were being invited were their teammates, Nate, and Kensi's mom.
Julia had been away in Costa Rica for almost a year and had been shocked yet thrilled when Kensi had called her and told her about the kids, Deeks, and the wedding. That conversation had lasted nearly three hours and had been filled with questions, squealing, giggling and crying. To say that Julia was thrilled for her daughter would have been an understatement.
"I like the color purple." Kensi offered, her eyes fixated on a gorgeous white dress that was on the page in front of her.
"You've looked at that dress at least a dozen times." Nell pointed out. "If you want it, then we can head over to the store that it's sold at and see if it comes in your size."
Kensi bit her bottom lip and let a smile spread across her face. She was about to say something but stopped when Isla walked into the room looking incredibly proud of herself.
"Hi baby girl, what's up?" Kensi asked and got up off the couch.
"Momma, potty." Isla pointed to the doorway she had come from.
Kensi and Nell shared a quick look before Kensi followed Isla into the next room and looked at the potty chair, another smile spreading across her face when she noticed that Isla had in fact used the chair.
She and Deeks had been trying to encourage her to use the potty chair for weeks and had no success. It hadn't been until Eric of all people had suggested that they buy a short video about using the potty that Isla started to become comfortable with doing so. She still had refused to go on her own though.
Kensi bent down to be at eye level with her pseudo daughter and placed a gentle hand on her back.
"I am so proud of you sweetie." She placed a kiss on Isla's cheek.
"Dadda, I go potty." Isla clapped her hands happily making Kensi turn to see Deeks enter the room.
Deeks smiled happily at her and scooped her up into his arms and tickled her sides making her squirm and giggle.
"You are such a big girl." He remarked and put her back down.
"I think it calls for a prize." Kensi said and got a nod from Deeks.
"I agree." He said and chuckled when Isla started bouncing in excitement.
"Well how about we go check out that shop that you've been eyeing and you can pick her up something while we're out?" Nell asked from her spot in the doorway, not missing the way that Deeks eyes lit up and then fell onto Kensi.
"Really, what store would that be?" He asked, his natural curiosity kicking in.
Kensi bit her lip and leaned a bit closer to him. "I think I've found the dress." She answered.
This time Deeks whole face brightened and the smile that spread on his face couldn't get much bigger.
"Can I see it?" Deeks nearly pleaded.
"Nope." Kensi said, putting emphases on the 'p', making the word pop.
She picked Isla up and ignored Deeks pout and followed Nell out to the kitchen where they collected their purses and then to the car.
"Are you really sure that you want to go with white?" Nell asked after they had browsed the store for a while.
The dress that Kensi had been drooling over was in fact there and in her size, but Nell had insisted that they shop a bit more just in case there was another dress that caught Kensi's eye. So far that hadn't happened and she was still leaning towards the one that had been put to the side.
"Yes, I'm sure." Kensi answered and moved back over to the dress.
It was a rather simple gown that was sleeveless, had a sash around the waist that pulled it in a bit only to then billow into a flowing skirt made out of super soft material. Kensi had loved it at first sight and that love had only grown when she'd come to realize that not only was the dress beautiful, but it was light weight and wouldn't weigh her down too much. She had found that as a major perk since she and Deeks had agreed to marry on the beach.
"It is very pretty." Nell said, having stepped up beside Kensi.
"Yes it is." Kensi wistfully stated. "I'm marrying my best friend and going to adopt three of the most wonderful children in the world."
"Yes you are." Nell smiled. "Pretty soon you will officially be the legal parents of your kids. You'll have your family; a family of five."
"Yes." Kensi agreed and watched her friend walk away before she let her hand rest on her stomach. She wasn't one hundred percent sure yet, but she was fairly certain that their family of five was soon to become a family of six.
The thought made her smile.
