A/N: I'm back! I'm actually back guys! Who's excited? I've been meaning to do this for a while, but I never got around to it.
Uriah:
"So, why, exactly, do we need to find Tris?" Lynn asks.
"Because her friends abandoned her." Marlene supplies. Lynn just grunts.
Finally, I spot a small blonde figure crouched against the wall.
"Tris!" I shout as I jog over to her. She looks at me with unfeeling, bloodshot eyes.
"I thought I would find you here. I heard you got ranked first."
She smirks,
"So you wanted to congratulate me? Well thanks."
"Well someone should. And I figured your friends might not be so congratulatory since their ranks aren't so high, so quit moping, and come with us. I'm going to shoot a muffin off of Marlene's head."
She laughs, and gets up. Well that was easy. When we get to the end of the hallway, Lynn narrows her eyes. That girl need to be friendlier. At least Marlene is smiling.
"Why aren't you out celebrating?" Marlene ask, "your practically guaranteed a top ten spot if you keep it up."
Marlene is sweet, but I can tell she hit a nerve. I quickly add,
"She's too Dauntless for the other transfers."
"And too abnegation to celebrate." Lynn says.
Why thank you Lynn for soiling my efforts.
"Why are you shooting muffin off of Marlene's head?"
"She bet me I couldn't aim well enough to hit a small object from 100 feet, and I bet her she didn't have the guts to stand there as I tried, it worked out well really."
We silently walk to the training room, which is close by. I flip on the light.
"They just keep these lying around?" Tris says, motioning to the pile of guns.
"Yeah but they aren't loaded." I pull up my shirt to grab my BB gun, revealing a small corner of the huge snake tattoo I have that starts at my ear. Tris looks at it trying to figure out what it is, but I don't feel like explaining.
"Okay, go stand in front of the target." I say to Marlene, who happily grabs the muffin and makes her way over to the target.
"You aren't seriously going to shoot a gun at her, are you?" Tris asks incredulously.
"It's not a real gun," Lynn says with a small frown, "It has plastic pellets in it. The worst it'll do is sting her face maybe give her a welt. What do you think we are, stupid?"
That's probably exactly what she thinks.
I aim the gun at Marlene.
"Wait!" she yells. She takes a pinch of the muffin and pops it in her mouth, "Mkay."
"I take it your ranks were good?" Tris asks. I am busy aiming so I let Lynn answer,
"Uriah's second, I'm first, Marlene's fourth."
"You're only first by a hair." I retort right as I squeeze the trigger. It hits right in the middle of the muffin.
"We both win!" she yells.
"You miss your old faction?" Lynn asks, lacking her usual cruel tone.
"Sometimes. It was calmer, not as exhausting."
I see Marlene pick the muffin up and eat it.
"Gross!" I shout.
"Initiation is supposed to wear us down to who we are. That's what Eric says anyways."
I don't believe it.
"Four says it's to prepare us."
"Well they don't agree on much." Lynn says. Well that sure is plain and obvious. A far off look crosses Tris's face.
I turn towards the target and fire, just as the door bursts open. My brother, Shauna, and Four walk in.
"I thought I hear someone in here." Four says disapprovingly.
"Turns out it's my idiot brother. You're not supposed to be in here after hours. Careful or Four will tell Eric, and then you'll be as good as scalped."
I know my brother is joking, and that if anyone tried to scalp me, he would probably kill them, but I put my gun away anyways. We all file out as Four holds the door open. Lynn looks at him suspiciously,
"You would tell Eric." She says. To be truthful, Four scares me. I think he scares everyone. I know he and my brother are best friends, but Four is very intimidating.
"No I wouldn't."
I walk down the hallway silently. Marlene gives Shauna half the muffin, and Lynn walks next to her sister. I walk behind with Zeke. I look behind me for Tris, and I notice that Four has pulled her aside.
"I hope he doesn't kill her."
"Why can't you get over the notion that Four isn't a violent murderer?"
"He's scary."
"Ugh, he won't hurt her. Go to dinner and make sure you get a good night's sleep."
"Yes, father." I know as soon as the words come out of my mouth that I shouldn't have said anything. Zeke gives me a look, before he walks down another hallway.
A/N: did you like it? Was it worth the wait? I hope so. Please please please give me ideas! If you don't, I can't write chapters.
