Chapter 40

Shadow POV

A few days later I was up and moving feeling like I was on top of the world. Mostly because I could walk to the fridge and back without assistance. Silent had told everyone about his vision and we were devising a plan. In fact we were having a meeting about it right now.

All of us were sitting around in the living room on the floor. Silent, Sound, The twins, and Bright all sat legs crossed in a circle on the floor. I was resting on the couch near them since I was still recovering and under order of the 'Temporary Leader' A.K.A Silent to rest. Anyways, Zack was laying on the floor his head resting on his dad's leg, his eyes scanning the papers in front of the group. Talia was sitting on the other end of the couch asleep.

"If we stay together we shouldn't have a problem" Silent explained, "When were separated were not as strong."

"I could have told you that wise guy" Leo said sarcastically. Silent glared at him and continued.

"Ignoring the asshole, so if any of us leave the house someone is with them at all times." There were a few mumbles in agreement. "Like the buddy system"

"Do we get to choose our buddies?" I asked amusement in my tone. He glanced at me out of the corner of his eye then looked back at the flock.

"There is no set buddy system, just if we have to go somewhere for some reason someone is with them." He explained, "And if anyone sees anything like erasers or something, we are moving immediately."

"Why don't we just move now?" Sound Suggested, "I mean they must know were here already, were just putting ourselves in danger."

"Because Silent's family is here, and we do want some form of normal life rather than staying on the run til we all die of exhaustion." I said getting to my feet, "Now everyone get changed, were going over to Silent's parent's house for dinner" They groaned and got to there feet mumbling as they headed for there rooms. I walked into my room and sat down on the bed leaning against the wall.

"How do you feel?" Silent asked digging threw the dresser. He pulled out a pair of jeans and a shirt setting it on the dresser.

"Like Shit" I said getting to my feet walking to the dresser.

"We don't have to go if you don't want to, I'm sure the flock wont mind." I shook my head grabbing a change of clothes.

"No its fine, you like seeing your family and the flock likes hanging out with your brothers. If I really start to hurt I can lay down or something" He nodded his head and changed before slipping out into the hallway to check on the others.

Once the door was closed I changed then leaned against the wall. I was in horrible condition. I could barely stand but I was biting back the pain. The flock needed me to be there leader and to be there for them, and I couldn't do that lying in a bed half dead.

"You'll be fine" I mumbled to myself and walked out of the room. My chest ached with every breath as I walked into the living room. The twins were sitting on the couch, both wearing a pair of jeans and button up shirts. Ian's was blue and Leo's was Red. Bright and Talia came out of there rooms wearing skirts and identical red tank tops.

"You guys ready to go?" I asked.

"Hell yeah I'm freaking starving" Sound Exclaimed buttoning the top button on his shirt. His jaw was now fully healed and he was able to talk again. Trust me he talks a lot more now, after realizing how hard it was not to talk.

"Just waiting on Silent and Zack" I glanced back at the door in time to see Silent walk out with Zack on his heels. Zack had more or less adapted to Silent's sense of clothing style, as well as attitude. He even walks around like Silent, without making a sound.

"Ready?"

"Just waiting on you" He gave me another glance before herding the flock out the door.

We got to Silent's parent's house just in time for dinner which I might add was amazing. We had pork chops and potatoes and corn. Plus Apple pie for dessert! Hell yeah!

Right now we were sitting outside on the back porch watching Zack and the twins mess around in the yard. They were playing a game of soccer, except with a basket ball. Me, Silent, Sound, Bright and Talia were sitting on the porch with Silent's parents and his sister. His brothers were at football practice.

"You doing ok?" I rolled my eyes and hit Silent on the arm.

"For the last time yes I am. Stop asking" I scooted closer and rested my head on his shoulder. He rolled his eyes and tightened his grip on my waist.

"Just making sure" He whispered running his fingers threw my hair.

"And he barely even talks to me its so ridiculous" Despite being such a bitch Bright and Talia had taken a liking to Cici. Only because she was about as much of a diva as they were.

"I know exactly how you feel girl" Cici exclaimed talking to Bright, "There's this guy and my school named Daniel but he's all over this other girl and doesn't even notice me" Bright patted her arm.

"But I've known this guy since I was 8. I see him all day everyday but he doesn't seem to do anything but be a retard." I smirked and turned my head to look at her.

"Aww! Bright has a crush on one of the twins!" I exclaimed. Panic filled her eyes.

"Shadow! Shut up! Please shut up!" Her eyes glanced at the twins in the yard then back at me. They hadn't heard us.

"Come on spill which one is it? If you don't tell me I'll find it in your head and tell them" She crossed her arms, a blush creeping up on her cheeks.

"Leo" She mumbled. I smirked like a child.

"Bright that's so adorable…Even though he's 2 years older than you" The twins were 15 and Bright was 13.

"Yeah we-" her sentence cut short as she looked up at the sky. I followed her gaze and instantly a tingle ran down my spine. I knew it was to good to be true. It was the thing I didn't want to see today.

It was Erasers.
