Chapter 45

Silent POV

I was standing outside the girls bedroom door when it suddenly flung open to reveal a horribly pissed off Leo and Bright. Both had there arms crossed and glares on there faces.

"What do you want?" Leo snapped his voice dripping with venom and I swear I almost flinched.

"I came to say I was sorry and check on Talia." I exclaimed scratching at the back of my neck, "I am sorry for flipping out on you guys." Leo looked at me then down at Bright.

"I'll forgive you, always do" He exclaimed, "And Bright forgives you too. Now you just have to win over Talia's vote" they moved aside to let me in the room and shut the door behind me.

Talia was sitting on one of the bed across the room swinging her feet absentmindedly her eyes on the floor. I sighed and walked over sitting down next to her.

"Hey Talia, how you feeling?" I asked softly. She didn't answer, "Look sweetie, I didn't mean to flip out like that again." She slowly looked up at me and her face was anything but a smile. Her eyes were slightly red from crying and I could tell she was trying not to again.

"You promised never to do that again" She whispered, "You promised not to let your instincts take you over again, not after last time" I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her close to me.

"I know and I didn't mean for it to happen." I kissed the top of her head and sighed.

"Were…Were going to get Shadow back right?" She whispered pressing herself to me small tears falling from her eyes. I grit my teeth and held her closer.

"Of course we are. I won't let them keep her" I made her look up at me, "Ok Sweetie?" She slowly nodded her head wiping the few remaining tears from her eyes.

"Yeah I get. I just miss her a lot and I know she misses us all to." She frowned, "I mean you know she's been like a mom to me and the rest of the group, she's been with us through everything." She picked at the hem of her shirt, "You've always been there to protect Shadow and all of us. I don't see how she slipped away"

"We got separated in the fight. I swerved off to help Ian for just a second and the next thing I knew she was gone"

It was times like this I remembered how young she was. I always seemed to forget she was only 8 and had been through so much. She acted so strong and brave, hell she was strong and brave. All of us were, but in reality we all needed each other

"Do you know where they took her?" Talia asked slowly and I nodded.

"I do. Do you want to help me get everyone around?" she nodded furiously, "Get everyone to pack a bag" She climbed out of my lap.

"Alright!" She headed for the door but turned around at the last second, "And Silent? Thanks for being our leader and kind of like a dad to us" she turned and raced out the door leaving me smiling. Maybe I was doing some good for the flock.

Maybe I could be a good leader and get Shadow back.

Shadow POV

My eyes shot open, chest rising and falling rapidly, and I had broken out in a cold sweat. I tried to sit up but the restraints on my wrists and ankles kept me bound. I struggled hard but they wouldn't budge.

"Stop struggling you'll only make things worse" I twisted my head towards the voice and scowled at the whitecoat standing to my left. He was more interested in my heart monitor and stats than actually me, and he was changing out an IV bag. Wait heart monitor? IV?

Looking down at my arm I went pale. Stuck in the inside of my left arm was a large needle. God I hate needles, you probably can guess why.

"I don't even know why he's making us keep you alive" The whitecoat scoffed writing something down on a clip board before exiting the room. I made a face as he left. Who was "He" and why was he keeping me alive, and what for?

Now that I was alone I finally took in the room around me. I realized I wasn't in a white lab like I had expected. The room actually seemed more like a high class hospital room. The room walls were a light shade of blue but the floor was still white. There was a small window across the room but I wouldn't be able to fit out it.

I was snapped from my thoughts by the door opening and shutting. I tugged hard at the straps around my wrists once more as the whitecoat walked forward.

"What do you want with me?" I hissed.

"Just to make sure your safe princess" I'll admit at the sound of his voice I froze. The whitecoat turned his head and smiled at me. It was one of the only two people in the world who would dare call me princess.

It was my old time savor. Zak Parker Talon. He was alive.

Authors note- Well guys were coming down to the final 4 chapters here. So much to come yet so little time! I have already begun working on the sequel but still need a name for it so please review and tell me what you think would be a great sequel title. Because if you guys don't and i can't think of anything then it leave the title in the hands of Silent himself. Which is never good.

Anyways thanks everyone whose been here from the beginning and has kept me going.
