A/N: Thanks to all reviewers! I appreciate each an every one of you!
So only one person guessed right, but all the other guesses were really good! I could definitely see where each one of those people picked up Andy! It'll post the second chapter later today. With that said, ENJOY!
Poison & Wine - Chapter XLVI

I turned over in my comfortable bed, nestling further into the sheets. I felt so refreshed, but I still wanted to sleep a few more minutes before I had to―
Yeah, this wasn't right. I passed out on a sidewalk, not in my bed.
Opening my eyes I saw that I was not in my room, I was in a trailer. Sitting up, my bones moaned in protest. Okay, so not all of me was feeling refreshed today.
I looked ahead to the small hallway which led to a kitchen. Right then, the a dark skinned man entered the trailer. He placed something wrapped in a bloody sheet on a table. He uncovered the object to reveal it was a human head. Partially disgusted, I watched as he stuck a needle into the gums of the head, something filling up the needle.
"Are you the hunter?" I asked before I could stop myself.
He looked over at me before back at the human head. "I suppose so,"
I stood off the bed and cautiously walked towards him. I was still in my Bonnie outfit. "What am I doing here?"
"I thought you were a vampire when I saw you collapse on the sidewalk, but I soon figured out you were human," He explained as he got another needle. "I'm Connor."
"Andy―"
"Andrea Gilbert, I know," He glanced over at me. "I've met your siblings."
"Then you know we have a track record of association with creatures of the night,"
"Oh, I'm very aware,"
I looked at his trailer and folded my arms. Looking back at him, I noticed that he was muscular and filled out that white tank top quite nicely. "Why am I here?"
"Change into those," Connor pointed to a stack of clothes on the counter. "I'll explain everything once you're finished."
With a sigh I picked up the clothes and retreated into the bathroom. When I unfolded the clothes, I was shocked to see it was a grey hoodie and a grey pair of jogging pants. The only shoes I had were the loafers I had on so it looked like I was going to look like a mess.
After changing I tried my best to tame some of my hair, but it was a hopeless cause. When I was finished, I exited the bathroom to see gathering some weapons from a cupboard and placing them in a duffel bag.
"So why am I here?" I asked, sitting my costume down. "Let me guess... Ransom?"
"You could say that," He said. "I'm going to rid this town of all these vampires."
I laughed. "Good luck with that. The vampires in this town don't like to go down without a fight,"
"Yes, but they also have a habit of getting involved with humans such as yourself," He glanced over at me as he closed the cupboard. He zipped the duffel bad up and turned his back to me as he started to exit the trailer.
"If you're planning to use me for that, I was the worst person. You should've gone after my sister, they all swarm around her," I said as we exited the trailer.
"Come on," He said as we got to his black truck. Once we were inside the truck, he spoke again. "That Original vampire Klaus seems to care an awful lot about you."
"Well, that was last week. This week we hate each other," I slumped back in the seat, not understanding why I was cooperating with him.
I can't believe it has been a week since Klaus and I kissed. A week since everything felt like it was perfect again.
"So who gave you that bite then?"
I looked over at Connor, my hand going to my bandaged neck. "I was drunk,"
"Meaning you let them feed from you,"
"Meaning I let one feed from me,"
"Like that makes it any better,"
"Thanks for making me feel like an even bigger blood slut, Connor, makes me feel a whole lot better about it," I looked out the window. "If I wasn't so weak, I'd punch you."
"Good luck with that,"
"Excuse me, Mr. Judgmental, I will have you know I trained with werewolves then with an awesome vampire hunter that was twice the man you could ever dream of being," I snapped.
"If you weren't a sympathizer, I might actually had liked you,"
"If you weren't a vampire hunter holding me hostage, I'd still hate you,"
The rest of the ride was silent. We ended up at the town square and he parked on the opposite side from the Grill. We got out and he started walking across town square with the duffel bag over his shoulder. I followed as best as I could, but now I was suddenly feeling physically drained. I could hardly keep my feet moving and bumped into Connor's back when he stopped. Looking up, I saw we were in front of the Mystic Grill.
"Why are we here?" I demanded, but he didn't answer as he headed into the back of the Grill. The backroom was unlocked so we went in that way. Once in, we heard something so he immediately grabbed me, a knife to my throat. "What are you―" He cut me off by cutting my throat slightly.
He moved me to closer to where the sound was. It was Jeremy.
He had a bin of dishes and was placing them on various shelves, not paying any attention. After a moment, I managed out, "Jeremy,"
Jeremy turned to see me, his eyes widening.
"Do I have your attention?" Connor asked in a low voice. Jeremy nodded slowly, his eyes not leaving the knife at my throat. I could feel blood trickling down my throat where Connor had slightly cut. "Good. Then let's talk about vampires."
"Don't hurt her, please," Jeremy pleaded. "She isn't healthy, Connor, she's been having seizures and―" How did he know I had had a seizure? Only Dr. Fell and Elijah knew about the first one, but I suppose he could've found out about the other two from Elena and Stefan.
"Quiet," Connor snapped. "Let's go to the front. Now." Slowly Jeremy moved out of the backroom and into The Grill where we heard two voices.
"I just – I came to ask if you've seen Rebekah,"
"Why would I have seen Rebekah?"
Out of the backroom, Connor slowly walked out with Jeremy and I. He still had the knife to my throat. It was April Young and Matt.
"Oh, I just assumed... I mean, aren't you guys kind of like a thing?" April asked.
Matt scoffed and turned away from April. "Rebekah and I are not a thing,"
April walked closer towards Matt. "Well, I-I mean I'm worried about her. She said she'd help me find stuff out about the fire that killed my dad and then she just... disappeared."
Connor pushed Jeremy and I into the room. April and Matt turned around, startled, then Matt ran in front of April. Connor came up behind me again and placed the knife back against my throat.
"Trust me, that's the least of your problems," He said. "Sit down! Sit down!" He shouted right into my ear. Connor walked forward with the knife at my throat. April and Matt backed up and sat down. Connor pushed me down into a chair next to them then demanded that Jeremy sit down so he did. "Gilbert, give me your cell phone." He looked at Jeremy.
"At least let April go. She doesn't have anything to do with this," Jeremy glanced at her.
"She has everything to do with this," Connor said as Jeremy handed him his phone. "Her and her father. Plus, she and I have history."
April looked puzzled up at the hunter. "What are you talking about? I've never seen you before in my life."
"Well, you kids need to get some vervain. And don't just wear it as a bracelet where anybody can just take it off," He pointed at mine and Jeremy's vervain bracelet. Jeremy looked at his then back up at him. "Maybe then you'd remember our conversation at the hybrid's yesterday." 'The hybrid's'? Did he mean Klaus?
"Our conversation? Are you saying someone compelled me?!" Jeremy sat up.
"Would someone please tell me what he's talking about?!" April looked to me, her eyes wide in fear.
"Compulsion, secrets, vampires," Connor said as he scrolled down a page on Jeremy's phone.
"If you know so much, then you know our friends are going to come for us," Matt said, almost smugly.
"Oh, yeah, I'm counting on it. Every vampire that comes for you is another one I get to kill. Now, who should I text first? Hm?" Connor continued looking through Jeremy's phone. "Damon Salvatore, his brother Stefan, Tyler Lockwood? Nah, all of the above. I'll count on Stefan informing Klaus for you, Gilbert." He glanced at me briefly as he typed a message. A moment later he placed Jeremy's phone down and stabbed it with his hunting knife.
"Guess who gets an upgrade!" I joked, looking over at Jeremy. I tried lightening the mood but was unsuccessful. Connor took his duffel bag off of him and tossed it on the bar. He started taking stuff out and making bombs.
"Are you okay, Andy?" Matt said as he handed me some napkins. I pressed them to my neck and forced myself to keep my eyes open.
"I'm fine," I murmured.
"No, you're not," Jeremy leaned over to me. "You're deathly pale. You're eyes are bloodshot―"
"I'm fine," I barked. "If I wasn't then I wouldn't be sitting here, okay?"
We fell into silence as we watched Connor pouring werewolf toxin into a glass jar. He was rigging up a bomb. April started crying. "He's clearly delusional. I mean, right? All this... all this talk about vampires, but I mean, he mentioned my dad," She glanced at us with tears streaming down her cheek.
"Hey, this guy's a nut job, okay? Don't let him get in your head," Matt told her.
"What if he knows something?" She looked at my brother. "Jeremy, did he say anything to you about why he's doing this?"
"I don't know. Maybe. Maybe I just can't remember," He shook his head.
"He wants to kill the vampires," I said, staring at the salt shaker. "He knows the vampires care about us humans so he's using us as bait. Didn't you guys listen when he took Jeremy's phone?"
Jeremy got up after I was finished talking and headed over to Connor. Matt pleaded with him, "Let it go. Jeremy!"
"You said we had a conversation yesterday," Jeremy said as he walked to his side.
"Mmhmm,"
"About what?"
"We'll get into that," Connor glanced up at him. "First, take a look at my handy work. Pick up some tip's from the hunter's trade."
They continued their conversation while I laid my head over. I was dizzy and extremely exhausted. "Andy?" I heard Matt say then felt his hand on my shoulder. "Andy, what's wrong?"
"Rebekah and Kol," I croaked out, my throat as dry as sandpaper. "Klaus and Stefan daggered them last night. My body... My body's not handling it well."
"Your nose is bleeding, Andy," Matt said as he placed napkins at my nostrils. "Jeremy, Andy's not doing so well. She's got a fever, she's pale, she's bleeding from her nose... I don't know how daggering Kol and Rebekah is affecting her like this, it never has before."
"Not before you guys killed Finn," I closed my eyes. "After Finn was killed, the connection grew stronger."
"Connor, you've got to let her leave! She's going to die!" I heard Jeremy yell.
"More motivation for your friends," Connor said. "We're going to have visitors soon, you two in the back! Get up! Move!" I felt Matt's hand leave my shoulder and heard footsteps moving away from me. "Before you think about any other exits, I got every door rigged. Got it?"
I felt an arm around my back then heard Jeremy's voice in my ear. "You're going to be fine,"
"Don't tell me things that you aren't one hundred percent sure of, Jer,"
"Fine," He sighed. "But I know you were strong enough to survive everything else that we've been through. Hell, you've even got two Originals wrapped around your fingers. I think you're going to survive a hunter."
"It's not a hunter I have to survive, it's my own family and friends," I opened my eyes and turned to look at him. "Every time an Original gets hurt, I hurt. Every time an Original dies, I die. It's all of you I have to learn to survive, not hunters or whatever adversaries show up." My eyes closed again, and I slowly let myself doze off.
In my dream, I was walking down a street, hand-in-hand with Klaus. We were smiling at the other as we moved. This continued until I was brought back to reality by the sound of an explosion.
I screamed as I sat up, seeing I was on the ground, Jeremy by my side and Connor on the other side of him. I looked around to see we were still in The Grill. A man stood from the ground covered nails, blood, and glass of shards. I gasped, Jeremy's arm as Connor stood and shot the man with a gun, a hole blown right through the center of the man's chest. He fell to the ground, dead. Yep, I was definitely wide awake after that.
Connor took off his jacket and Jeremy sucked in breath, staring at Connor's arm. "What? What is it?" I demanded, but Connor suddenly yanked Jeremy up and then shot over my head at something. I looked back just in enough time to see Stefan speed behind the bar before I was yanked up. Connor kept his gun on the bar but held me tightly by the arm. I noticed Jeremy was standing on top of a sketchy looking mat.
"Connor, you don't have to do this!" I heard Stefan call out.
"Stefan!" Jeremy called out in pure fear.
That's when I heard the ticking, and the horror seeped in. Jeremy was standing on a bomb. "Connor, we can end this right now!" Stefan said from behind the bar. "Just put the gun down and come with me!"
"Sure. Come out, I'll hand the gun over,"
"Think about this. No one has to die. I'll tell you everything you need to know!"
"I don't make deals with vampires!"
My eyes were trained on Jeremy. He was looking over at me with fear and I mirrored that. If Jeremy died, my sanity would go. I wouldn't be able to handle my little brother - my best friend - dying because of this hunter. "Listen to me, if you die right now, then your whole life, all that killing; it'll all be for nothing," Stefan, a vampire, was trying to reason with a vampire hunter. Yes, that would go perfectly. "I can give you the truth. Just put the gun down and let them go!"
The door to the Grill opened, and turning my head I saw Elena enter. "Please!" She gave Connor her best pitiful look. He turned his gun on her. "Don't hurt them."
Connor put the gun to my head. "You, come any closer, she's dead."
"Elena, get your ass out of here," I growled.
"They're the only family I have left," Elena started tearing up. "Just-just let them go."
I never wished more than at that moment to have Magneto's powers (though I'd wished that many times before, I wanted it more now than ever). At least then I could control the metal gun.
Connor then spoke to Stefan. "You hear that? Your girl is watching. I will shoot her sister right in front of her! On the count of three!" I closed my eyes, mustering up all my strength. "One! Two!"
The gun moved away from my temple so I swung around and socked Connor in the jaw. He moved the gun back and shot me in the gut, but was tackled by Elena.
I fell to the ground, applying pressure to the wound. I couldn't feel any pain, but the liquid on my hands told me I had indeed been shot. There was another explosion and I looked around for Jeremy but couldn't see him.
"Jeremy?!" Elena and I said simultaneously. I looked over to her and watched as Connor tossed her to the side and climbed on top of her. He went to stake her, but Stefan shoved him off. Stefan grabbed Connor and rushed off. Why hadn't he killed him?
Elena stood, looked around for a moment confused, then Jeremy and her both rushed to my side. "We have to get her to a hospital!" Elena said.
"No!" I grabbed her wrist. "Jeremy can take me, you go after Stefan and Connor. I don't trust that Stefan won't kill him! Go, Elena!" She bit her lip.
"She's right, Connor was after me because I was the only one who could see his hunter's tattoo. I was compelled by someone yesterday to forget I was at Klaus'... "
"Awesome!" I interrupted. "Now go Elena, before I bleed to death!" She was gone in a second. I looked at Jeremy. "I need help. Now."
That was all I remembered before I blacked out.
When I came back to, I was in a hospital room again. I had tubes in me that was pumping liquids into me. Jeremy was asleep in a chair and Elena was awake in another. "You're awake," She said.
"Unfortunately," I exhaled, looking over at her. "What time is it? How long have I been out?"
"About two days," She stood and moved to my side. "And you missed a lot."
"Aw, crap," I groaned. "Can't you guys just stop going all 90210 on me? Why does there have to be drama?"
"We're teenagers, it's perfectly normal," She brushed my hair out of my face. "Meredith said that you needed to stop drinking, Andy. She said it was becoming a hazard to your health and that it caused that first seizure which you failed to inform me of."
"Yeah, well, we're not all perfect," I closed my eyes. "What did I miss?"
She told me that after Jeremy brought me here that she killed Connor, but since he was a hunter there was consequences and therefore the hunter's curse was activated. She said that it was just her hallucinating and wanting to kill herself, but that she had help in overcoming it.
I was actually surprised to find out that Klaus had tried helping her, but that didn't stop me from being angry at him for daggering Rebekah and Kol. Anyways, back on track. They found out from Professor Shane - I was a little surprised to learn Bonnie was in contact with him - that to stop a hunter's curse another hunter had to 'awakened.' Cue Jeremy.
They used Jeremy to stop the curse. Meaning Jeremy killed somebody to save Elena. Not that I was angry, but I didn't want Jeremy putting his life at risk. Elena even said that it was one of Klaus' hybrids that he killed and that Klaus had offered him up to be killed. I was got stunned into silence with every word.
Elena finally closed off her story by telling me that Damon saved her from herself and that Stefan and her broke up. Meaning that she was more than likely going back to Damon. Great, more drama. "There's something else, Andy,"
"What? Did Caroline and Tyler break up this week only to inevitably get back together?"
"There's a cure,"
"For what? Drama?"
"For vampirism,"
That left me speechless. A cure? For vampirism? Something that Klaus or Elijah could take and... and become human?
"Andy?"
"I heard you," I whispered and slowly looked up to meet her gaze. "And you want it."
"Yes,"
"Is there one dose or―?"
"I don't know, I only know that Jeremy's hunter's mark is the key,"
"Meaning... ?"
"Meaning Jeremy will have to kill vampires or hybrids to finish the mark,"
I closed my eyes. "It's Jeremy's decision, I will support whatever he chooses,"
"I want to,"
I jumped slightly, looking over to see Jeremy staring at me from the doorway. "Geez, Jer, I'm in the hospital. Don't scare me like that,"
"I'm serious, Andy, I want to do this for Elena," Jeremy walked over to my side.
"Fine, I'll support you," I looked over at Elena. "But it better be worth it." I looked at the end of the bed to see an envelope with my name on it. "What's that... ?" I asked as I reached forward and picked it up.
"Klaus dropped it off earlier," Elena said.
I paused, looking up at her. "He did?"
"He also kissed your forehead," Jeremy said, slightly disgusted.
Sighing, I opened up the envelope and started to read the beautiful script.
Andy,
I know I'm not your favorite person right now, but I want to make everything up to you. I want you to forgive me for all the offenses I've committed against you or that have affected you in some form or fashion. I look forward to seeing you again, Andy. I do miss you.
Fondly, Klaus
I sighed, dropping the letter to my lap. I massaged my temples. "I still feel like crap,"
"Well, just get some rest," Elena kissed my head. "Meredith said you can leave in the morning in enough time to go the Miss Mystic Falls pageant."
"That's tomorrow?"
"No, but we have to go help set up if you are feeling up to it, but now you need to sleep. We'll be right back," Jeremy kissed my head before Elena and him disappeared into the hallway.
I picked Klaus' note up, my eyes running over the words. Eventually I began to doze off with images of Klaus daggering Rebekah and Kol in my head.
