A/N: Thanks to all of the reviewers! You guys are awesome!

So, this chapter a little Elijah and Andy... Also, I understand that some you guys wanted her to go to The Originals in a certain way, but the way I decided to send her is really awesome, in my opinion, at least. And just because that thing happens doesn't mean she won't end up with the person... ENJOY!

Poison & Wine - Chapter LVI

I stared at the locker with a blank expression, not really sure how to feel seeing the flowers and the pictures clustered around Jeremy's old locker. It had only been two days but I still felt that emptiness inside me. I didn't know how I was going to make it through this at this rate. Ever since that day, I had been numb.

For the past couple of days, Klaus and Elijah had taken care of me. They made sure I ate even when I didn't want to and made sure that my dreams weren't nightmares. I was forever in their debt for helping me. Elijah seemed a little more distant with me, but Klaus was patient and kind to me, which was strange. I expected him to tell me I needed to move on because my brother or Kol weren't coming back, but he let me mourn. They both did.

At first they didn't want me going to school today but I convinced them a school day could help this emptiness inside me so they obliged. I think the thing they were most nervous about was if I ran into Elena, which was definitely going to happen since we had classes together but everything had calmed down since last time. It's not like I am going to seek her out; after all, I haven't spoken to any of them since it went down because I had nothing to say to them.

As I stared on, I eventually was joined by Caroline. "Hey, how are you doing?" She asked.

"Fine, I guess," I mumbled.

"You're not wearing makeup nowadays... Doesn't the Mikaelson manor have some in stock?" She tried joking but it didn't work.

"What do you need, Caroline?" I glanced over at her.

"I just wanted to see how you were doing," She said innocently, but I knew this was about Elena, everything was with them. That's another reason why I wanted nothing to do with them anymore.

Before I could fuss at Caroline, Matt walked up to us. "Hey, have you guys seen Bonnie?" He asked.

"Yeah, I called her last night. She's fine. She's just a little drained from, you know, everything," Caroline answered.

"Can't really blame her," I muttered.

Caroline nodded in agreement. "Yeah,"

"I have an idea," Elena's voice said from behind me and she slipped in between Caroline and I. I tensed up and looked away from the flyer she was holding up. "Can you get me my old spot back on the cheerleading squad?"

"I mean, technically, yeah. I'm captain, but I thought you hated cheerleading," Caroline said.

"I did, but now I think it would be really fun to jump around and toss people up in the air. It's not like the routines are that hard," I felt Elena's eyes on me but I kept my gaze on the memorial.

Caroline glanced at Matt, then I noticed her smiling at Elena. "I... think that would make Damon really happy,"

"What about you, Andy?" From my peripheral I saw Elena turn towards me and tilt her head. "Want to join with me?"

Without even answering her I walked away with a grimace. I didn't want to talk to her, not with her emotionless like this. I remembered how Stefan was and I knew that I couldn't handle her like that. Not when my own emotions were on overload.

After school, Caroline convinced me to stay for the cheerleading invitational despite my better judgement. I texted both Klaus and Elijah to let them know and it wasn't long before Elijah showed up. He ran into me at the entrance to the gym. "How was your day, Andrea?" He asked after we greeted one another with a hug.

"Okay, I guess... Yours?"

"Quite boring without you there, to be honest," He gave me that smile of his. "Klaus is interrogating that werewolf that the Lockwood had evidently been involved with."

"Hayley?" My forehead scrunched up, and I felt jealousy bite at me. "Why is he talking to her?"

"She helped Katerina to get to the cure," My mouth formed an O and I could only nod. He held out his arm to me. "Let's go on in, shall we?"

"Sure, just don't let me fall," Some might blame Elijah for my brother's death, because he could've stopped Katherine, but I know Elijah and he would've done something.

When we got into the gym, the cheer invitational was already underway. As Elijah and I moved around the room we ran into Elena, in her cheer uniform, and she was observing the crowds. Caroline was by her side. "We are totally gonna kick Grove Hills' ass," Caroline said.

"Yeah. Should be fun," Elena responded, then her eyes focused on me, and a dark look crossed her face.

"Andy, hey!" Caroline greeted as she noticed my presence.

"Hey," I grumbled begrudgingly. Looking over at Elijah, he slightly placed himself in front of me.

"I hope you're in good health, Elena," He said with a side-glance at me.

"I am,"

"Good," Elijah focused me solely then. "How about we go make fun of what I assume you used to be?"

I laughed quietly. "So you think I was a cheerleader?"

"I've seen the photos, Andrea. Your hairstyle was very... eccentric," He chuckled.

"I will agree with you on that," Caroline said, managing her way into our conversation. I glanced over at Elena to see she seemed to be fixated on a girl across the gymnasium. Caroline didn't even notice Elena's distraction. "Wow. The competition's bigger than last year... "

"Well, I was kicked off the squad before the competition so I wouldn't know," I said before turning towards Elijah. "I'm going to take you up on that seeking my old self out offer. Let's go, now." Grabbing his hand I pulled him away from them from a good distance. "Well, that was tortuous." I said as we took seats on the bleachers.

"Something is wrong with your sister, Andrea. They should not have had her turn off her humanity,"

I looked over at him with a frown. "Maybe it was for the best,"

He sharply looked over at me. "You saw she wasn't your sister, I know you did,"

I pulled my hands away from him and wrapped my arms around my torso. "There's nothing I can do, Elijah. I can't tell Damon to use his sire bond to get her to turn it back on."

"I know, just forget I said anything," He looked away from me. I sighed, knowing he was a little frustrated that I hadn't agreed with him. In all honesty, I did see that it wasn't my sister Elena, but that was because she flipped the switch so it made perfect sense why she wasn't acting herself.

We sat in a stiff silence for a few minutes and just stared at the cheerleaders before us. Before either of us even attempted another conversation, I spotted Elena and Caroline seemingly fighting. I quickly excused myself before heading over to them. Just as I got to them so did Stefan.

"Everything all right?" He asked.

Elena calmly said, "Yeah, as soon as the queen backs off, everything will be fine," She then walked off to warm up with the other Mystic Falls cheerleaders while we all watched her carefully.

"Remember how Damon sired her to behave? It didn't really work," Caroline said.

"I'll handle it," Stefan said. "You guys just stay here, okay?"

I walked away, but not in the direction that Elena was. As I approached Elijah I saw that he was talking to a blonde woman that looked to be in her mid-twenties and that she was twirling her hair around her finger. "What's going on, Elijah?" I asked as I took my seat beside him.

"Oh, this must be your sister Rebekah!" The woman fake smiled at me. She was pretty, but Elijah could do a lot better. "It so nice to meet you, Eli was just-"

Eli? Oh, hell no. she had not earned the right to call him that. "No, I'm Andy Gilbert," I snapped. "And only close friends call him that. You should call him Elijah."

"Andrea," Elijah's tone was chastising but I ignored it.

The blonde nodded. "No, it's fine, Elijah. I'm Betty, by the way,"

I looked now and noticed she had a shirt from another high school on there. "Are you a cheer coach?"

"Yes, I am. I was just talking to your boyfriend about the competition. I figured his daughter or wife would have something to do with it or why else would he be here?" She smiled over at him, her blue eyes sparkling at him. It made me sick to my stomach.

"He isn't that old," I muttered. We three stood there, unsure what to say to the other, so eventually she said good-bye and walked away. "God, that was torture!"

Elijah gave me a disapproving look. "You didn't have to be rude, Andrea,"

"Well, you can't be too careful and trust just anyone, Elijah," I looked down, refusing to meet his gaze.

Just then we heard a voice over the PA system say, "Up next: Mystic Falls' very own Lady Timberwolves" and the crowd in the gym cheered just as they started going up on the mat. The announcer spoke again, "Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for your very own Lady Timberwolves" while the girls got in position and the crowd continued cheering.

Led by Caroline's "Ready!" the team started their routine: "L-O-L, O-M-G, you're looking at Mystic Falls Varsity! B-E-A-T, beat those Cats." Three girls, including Elena, tossed Caroline into the air, but when she came down, something that I hadn't expected happened.

That bitch sister of mine backed away and Caroline fell straight to the ground.

The crowd gasped in shock while the rest of the team rush over to Caroline. Elena looked at Caroline, who was still on the ground, then at Stefan across the room, daring them to react, before turning and walking away.

I stood from my spot, but Elijah grabbed my hand. "Andrea, don't-"

"Don't, Elijah," I snapped and yanked my hand back. I hurried down the stairs and went after Elena. I didn't catch up with her until we were outside. She was now wearing a matching jacket with her uniform and texting someone, until I blocked her path. "Excuse me, bitch, do you know where I could find my sister?" I asked, folding my arms in front of her and popping my hip out to the side.

"Oh, stop acting like you're so much better than me," She said said as she continued to text and walk so I followed after her.

"Oh, I am so much classier than you, Elena, but really nice move in there. What do you do for an encore?"

"I'm pretty sure it doesn't involve another condescending lecture from Stefan, Caroline, or you,"

I shook my head. "Yeah, you're just like Katherine,"

Elena turned towards me, no longer looking at her phone, and narrowed her eyes at me. "Don't ever compare me to her again,"

Okay, I couldn't pass up an opportunity like this. I needed to seize it. "Hey, I'm just telling the truth, Elena. At least Katherine's a lot less broody and annoying,"

Her hand was immediately wrapped around my throat. "Do you honestly think I won't kill you right now?"

"You wouldn't be able to,"

Her grip tightened. "You wanna test that? I think I'm perfectly capable of doing it with a clear conscience,"

I slowly moved my hand into my pocket where I had a stake waiting. I wrapped my hand around it and prepared myself. "I meant that you obviously didn't remember that I'm under the protection of two - no, three - Originals and I have trained with werewolves and a vampire hunter. You underestimate me a lot more than you should,"

"Well, I overestimated Kol and see how easy it was to drive the stake through his heart,"

I growled and pulled out the stake. I stabbed it in her arm so she would let go. Once she had I punched her a couple of times before she got a few hits on me. She was quicker than me, but she was no where as skilled of a fighter as I was so I soon overpowered her again and managed to slam her onto the ground which clearly knocked the breath out of her. I pinned her down on the ground, stabbing the stake into her back and dug it deep enough to skim across her heart and I also made sure it was just out of reach from her grasp. I watched as she struggled to reach it and she was growling in frustration.

I felt cool hands around wrap my wrist. "Calm down, Andrea," Elijah whispered in my ear.

Glancing back at him I saw Caroline and Stefan standing a few feet back. I turned away from them and went over to Elena again... grabbing her neck and snapping it.

After that incident, Caroline and Stefan took Elena to the Salvatore Boarding house while Elijah took me to Klaus' mansion. It was silent the entire ride there because I think we were both shocked at just what had happened. I took down a vampire and snapped her neck... And she was my sister.

I looked down at my hands, trying to figure out why I had done that. In a sense, it was my first kill. I snapped my sister's neck and I didn't feel one once of regret for it which scared me more than I cared to admit.

When we got to the mansion, Elijah helped me in since I had a busted lip, a bleeding nose, and I am pretty sure I have a concussion. He led us towards the bathroom, but I heard voices so I pulled from his grasp and ventured to see what it was about.

When I got into the room, I saw a half naked Klaus on the bed and Hayley was in her bra sitting on the edge. "Klaus?" I asked in a brittle tone. I felt like everything was crashing down. Klaus had slept with Hayley... He obviously moved on quickly.

"Andy, love, what happened?" Klaus asked and he immediately was standing in front of me, looking at my wounds.

"Got in a fight with a vamp," I explained slowly, smacking his hand away. "But I won."

Klaus scowled over at Elijah who was patiently waiting behind me. "You were supposed to watch and protect her,"

"She didn't want either of those," Elijah said calmly as he looked over at me.

Klaus sighed, looking over at me with agitation. "We'll discuss this later when my guest has gone. For now, you need to get cleaned up,"

"Right," I muttered, touching my bloodied lip. The top of my shirt was covered in blood and was sticking to me. "Hope you had a wonderful time, Hayley! I heard he's just wonderful in bed... Did he show you those letters? They're quite adorable―"

"I will help her," Elijah interrupted as he put his arm around my waist. He barely glanced up at Hayley. "You finish with your guest." Elijah led me away to the kitchen where he sat me on the counter before he disappeared for a moment then returning with a first aid kit and some washcloths. He started cleaning my face, but the shirt was getting on my nerves so I made him stop so I could yank it off. I was glad I chose to wear a sports bra today.

As he cleaned the blood from around my nose, I kept my eyes closed. What was Klaus doing with Hayley? I was so angry I wanted to cry because now the part of me that wanted to be with him felt like I'd never have that chance again.

I knew I just needed to figure out how I felt and tell Klaus and Elijah both how I felt. It wasn't fair to myself or them. I wasn't scared of it anymore. I, after all, had lost everyone else I love. I needed to put my heart on the line and get this entire thing over with.

"Why did you attack Elena, Andrea?" Elijah asked, breaking me out of my thoughts. I opened my eyes to look at him.

"Because she's a bitch,"

He gave me a stern look. "Her humanity's off,"

"I don't know what the answer is then,"

"Yes, you do,"

"If you're so enlightened then why don't you inform me of how I supposedly feel?" I leaned over and spat into the sink. My throat felt horrible from the blood that had gotten down there.

"You need to say it,"

I looked down for a moment then back up at him. "If I say it then I can't ever take it back,"

He stopped cleaning up my face and stared into my eyes. "But it will be easier to overcome those feelings when you acknowledge them,"

"Now you're Dr. Phil?" I said in a light tone with a raised eyebrow; I was trying to lighten the mood but it didn't work as he continued giving me that expectant look. Sighing, I began speaking, "When I look at her, all I see is my little brother... When I look at her, I don't feel any love or affection towards her. It's dark and unhealthy," Tears started falling from my eyes. "I snapped her neck, Elijah! I shouldn't have done that, I don't even know how I was able to do it!"

"It's because you have this animosity towards her for everyone in your life who has died, right?" I nodded at his conclusion.

"I just want my family back, Eli. I wanna listen to eighties records with my dad and talk about Mr. Darcy with my mom. I want to watch Pretty in Pink with Jenna and I want to defend John whenever someone bad mouths him. I want to get surprisingly good advice from a drunk Alaric and I want to have drawing competitions with Jeremy. I want to flirt meaninglessly with Kol. I want a family back, I want my family back. But that's not possible because they're all dead. All because of Elena."

"Alaric and Jenna did not die because of her," He pointed out.

I scoffed. "Yeah, Alaric just went crazy from my family's ring and Jenna was killed by the man I can't help but love."

Everything seemed to freeze for a couple of seconds as those words came from my mouth. By the man I can't help but love... Elijah knew I didn't mean him, he knew it was Klaus. Elijah just didn't realize I loved him, too.

Elijah had an unreadable expression, but he continued speaking about my relationship with Elena rather than my feelings for Klaus. "Klaus daggered all of my siblings and I still forgave him,"

"Well, all of your siblings were still alive... Do you realize that it was Elena's fault that Kol and Finn are dead? She had them both killed," My fists clenched in anger. "I just don't get why they can't let me be happy. They all know I'm not happy here with them anymore. They know I'm in pain and they all know that I would give my life for any of you Mikaelsons in a heartbeat."

He didn't say anything else after that. He finished cleaning up my face and then we sat there in silence for a few moments before he spoke as he brushed my hair back from my face. "Niklaus is lucky to have you, Andrea,"

My eyes closed to hide my tears. "He doesn't have me,"

"Are you sure about that, Andrea?"

I opened my eyes up, slightly shocked at his response. "I-I want to tell you, but I don't know when I'll know. You deserve so much more than me,"

"No, you deserve so much more than Niklaus or I," He touched my cheek.

"I truly don't want to loose you over this either. I cherish our friendship more than I do anyone else's and if I loose you then I loose my sanity. You're the only reason I'm not dead right now," I cupped his face in my hands.

"Andrea," He put his forehead against mine. "I could never leave you, you know that. You are my sanity as well."

We pulled each other into a tight embrace. Elijah was the best man that I had probably ever met, or even that I'd ever meet in my life.

Klaus walked into the room and paused at seeing me in my sports bra and hugging Elijah. My heart skipped a beat at seeing him... "Am I interrupting something?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No," Elijah answered as he took a step back from me. "Andrea and I were just speaking."

"Hmm," Klaus glanced over at Elijah before he walked over to me. "Now what's your problem?" Elijah took a step back and kept silent.

"The fact you guys are acting like I need a bodyguard," I said, folding my arms. It took everything in me not to punch him for sleeping with Hayley. Though I didn't have right to be angry, that didn't stop me from my anger.

"Can't you just accept it for once, Andy? We're trying to protect you,"

"I know, I get that, but you can't smother me also. I need some freedom," I pointed out. "And I don't need a bodyguard, I need a friend. I just lost two people that I love dearly. Jeremy was my brother and Kol was like my brother. I need to mourn without being protected from a fight. I needed to fight Elena, okay? My anger towards her would have just built up and eventually combusted and God knows what I would end up doing to her."

Klaus grabbed my hand, and I slightly tensed at the movement. Those hands had touched Hayley probably not even ten minutes ago. "I will protect you no matter what, Andy, and I will be here as your friend. But... You need to leave town for a while."

I looked at him in shock. "What? I-I can't leave, not now. Not with Silas and the cure-"

"Elijah, tell her," Klaus turned towards him. "Tell her that she needs to get herself out of town."

Elijah stared hard at Klaus before his eyes bored into mine. "Perhaps he is right, Andrea. You said yourself that you had nothing left here."

"But I have Rebekah and you two. I can't leave when there's a chance you could die," I started crying again. "I can't loose you all, I just can't."

Klaus cupped my face. "I have all the daggers and Rebekah has the white oak stake... You and one of us can leave town for a few days. I've already spoken to your school and your therapist and they said it's okay to miss a few days... Just say yes and we'll go."

I looked over at Elijah with uncertainty, and he nodded at me with a grim expression. I looked back at Klaus with teary eyes. "Fine, but we have to go somewhere where no one will find us."

"I already have it taken care of."

The End of Chapter LVI

So...Yeah, Klaus slept with Hayley. For you Klandy fans, it doesn't mean the end of them! Next couple of chapter is when Andy's realizing who she wants! And... a good bit of romance for whoever goes on the trip with her. I'll leave it at that. Pretty please review!
