I told you I would be back, and here I am early! I decided to post the chapter sooner in case I didn't have time on Thursday. But new chapters will be on FRIDAYS, not Thursdays. This chapter is a very emotional chapter for the character, as she's been through so much and is just learning to come to grips with it. So here I present to you Chapter Seven: The Lestrange Child.

Jennifer felt betrayed. Hurt, confused. All of these feelings that she never really looked upon were starting to have such a profound effect on her. It's too overwhelming, thought Jennifer. Wizards, magic, evil mothers, who could possibly think of this? Jennifer took a deep breath and started to speak, interrupting Professor McGonagall and Mrs. Reynolds, who were in deep conversation.

"Um, I have something to say on the matter." she said. "First, who is my all important grandfather that you've mentioned? Second, what about my, for lack of a more appropriate term, mother? Is she going to try and kill me, or will she not be able to? I just want answers, and then I want to go home. No more magic or wizards or ..." She couldn't bring herself to mention death, as the murder of her father still stung her greatly.

Mrs. Reynolds put up her hand to silence Jennifer and said, "Jennifer darling, I know you don't understand right now, but this is for your own good. And as for your mother killing you, well-" But she never got the chance to finish speaking, as a jet of green light struck her in the face, leaving her dead. The curse came from the Headmistress's door, with Mrs. Scowly standing there, looking as malicious as ever.

If Jennifer had any doubt whatsoever about Professor McGonagall's magical abilities, they were washed away at that very moment. Seeing the Headmistress battle her mother with such endurence and speed, it would mystify any living soul.

But yet her mother fought back with each and every spell. Jennifer did her best to help the professor, throwing every random solid object she could find, but to no avail. Not only was her mother quick with her wand, she was quick with her hand, as she was able to fend off anything being thrown at her. It was terrifying to watch for Jennifer, as she felt a great deal of care towards each of these ladies (the Headmistress having a higher share of that, of course). So much for this birthday, thought Jennifer.

But just as this thought passed through her young mind, Mrs. Scowly pulled back, yelling, "Alright then, Minerva, I leave this at a draw. But let me depart you with one thing to think about, you old hag. Does the surname, 'Lestrange' mean anything to you?" With a malicious smile, Mrs. Scowly threw a small black square on the floor, leaving the two wizards in a quickspread of black dust powder.

Jennifer had her eyes covered (as she noticed there was a faint pepper taste in the getaway gas) when Professor McGonagall said, "Peruvian Instant Dark Powder. I see Weaselys' Wizard Wheezes is selling a rather nasty verson of it, used to be just black powder. Rather cheap for a Dark wizard, wouldn't you say?" And with a whirl of a wand, the powder was conjured back into the same black square it was at the beginning.

"Now Jennifer," the Headmistress started, "I want to take you on a tour of the grounds of Hogwarts. Then I will explain more about-" But Professor McGonagall was cut off short by a sobbing, enraged Jennifer, who said, "All I want from you is to teach me how to fight that bitch of a woman. No stupid tours or explanations! I want to kill that woman for all she's done! She killed my father, my best friend, and she even tried to do you and I in! So Professor, teach me how to beat her, then give me whatever rubbish you call a tour."

Professor McGonagall looked flabbergasted, but she then solumnly nodded her head and said in her calm voice, "Alright Jennifer, I will teach you. But from here on out, I will not hear any profanity from your mouth or you will be on the first train back to London! But for now, let's hope you have Albus's skill, for your sake."

Didn't I say it would be emotional? The next chapter is entitled Chapter Eight: Fawkes the Phoenix. This is another character that I'm bringing in from the canon, mostly because i feel that Phoenixes were greatly underrepresented in the canon. You can do a lot with a Phoenix, and that's what I'm planning on doing with this next chapter. After that, there are two more chapters before the last one. I'm planning on ending on a high note, which hopefully you'll be able to see!
