Two days had passed since the accident and Lucy hadn't come out of her room. She hadn't eaten or changed her clothes. Eventually it was time to go to school. Her eyes snapped wide open as her alarm rang. She hopped off her bed. It was her chance to see Natsu again! Lucy gently folded his top and put it in her bag along with some books. She took a shower, dressed up and rushed downstairs, passing by her father. She decided to miss breakfast.
As soon as she arrived at the classroom she began to furiously look for Natsu. Unfortunately she couldn't find him before the classes started. Lucy sat on her desk and began tapping her foot nervously.
Her class ended agonizingly slow and she rushed out the room, followed by Levy.
"Lu-chan! Wait!" The blue haired girl yelled.
Lucy stopped her tracks "W-What is it Levy?" she laughed nervously
"Lucy, where were you yesterday? I came in your house to look for you, but your father said that you hadn't come home and that you wouldn't answer your phone!" Levy exclaimed
"Well, I was…"
"You were with Natsu, weren't you?" the petite girl frowned
"Y-Yes." Lucy looked at the ground
"Finally!" Levy suddenly grinned "You've had a crush on him ever since middle school!"
"W-What!? That's so untrue! I don't… I just, I… have to find him." Lucy blurted out and tried to run forward, but she bumped into something hard.
The blonde looked up, only to be met by a pair of blue eyes. The boy raised his eyebrow.
"What's the rush Lucy?" Gray asked
"G-Gray, have you seen Natsu?!" She stuttered awkwardly
The black-haired boy frowned slightly. "No, I don't think so. I guess he ditched school today."
Lucy pouted and tried to continue running, but Gray caught her arm.
"Hey Lucy, are you falling for Natsu?" he asked
"W-Well, I wouldn't say…. I mean… n-no, I just need to…um, see him…" she blushed madly. "Excuse me!" and with that she ran down the hallway
As she ran she felt like everyone was watching her. It was a very unpleasant feeling, making her heart pound louder as blood rushed to her cheeks. Lucy didn't know why she felt so embarrassed. It was like everyone was making fun of her, like she was doing something bad and wrong.
The girl rand out the school doors and headed towards a random direction. She ran and ran as fast as her legs could hold her. Soon Lucy realized she was far enough from her school and stopped to find herself in a park. The blonde took a deep breath, hot blush still coating her cheeks. Her shoulders slumped and she sat on a nearby bench. Her chilled fingers shivered nervously as her eyes rested on her lap.
What was going on with her? Why did she get so embarrassed over such a question?
Another uneasy sigh escaped her lips.
"Really, am I falling for him?" She asked herself
Yes, he was really hyperactive and often dumb, also he was loud and spoiled, but was cute too.
Lucy bit her lip, reaching for her bag. She pulled out Natsu's top. The piece of clothing reminded her of that morning when she woke up with him in the same bed. Oh how fast her heart had beaten that morning. She was so nervous then.
A tiny laugh sounded form her. Natsu, where are you?
Timeskip... (Natsu's apartment)
Natsu sat on his couch, topless. His brows were furrowed in deep thoughts. Honestly he had no explanation about anything today. In the morning he woke up to a very weird thought. He was thinking about none other than Lucy. The boy acknowledged that she seemed especially cute lately, with her golden hair and big brown eyes. Natsu found himself blushing over the thought of the blonde, wearing his top. He sighed helplessly, resting his head against the back of the couch. Really, why did his opinion for Lucy change so suddenly?
Secondly, why, just why couldn't he stop thinking about the girl? It was like she was the only thing in his head. Cute, funny, damn irresistible Lucy.
Suddenly the doorbell made him jump out of his skin.
"What the hell?" Natsu grumbled as he dragged himself to the door.
He opened it with an unpleasant scowl on his features. There, in the hallway, right in front of him stood Lucy. A small blush crossed his cheeks.
Lucy on the other hand was a whole different story. She had been pacing in front of his door for more than fifteen minutes, hesitating about if she should press the bell or not. When she finally did, a wave of nervousness crashed over her. When the door did open though, it got much worse. To the sight of a shirtless Natsu, Lucy's face exploded in a million shades of red.
"I-I, um, came t-to give you this." She blurted out, handing him his blue tank top.
"Oh, thanks." The boy replied awkwardly and took it.
Lucy lingered her feet on the floor. "I also wanted to ask, um, why weren't you at school today?"
"Eh, just didn't feel like going, I guess."
"You didn't feel like going?!" The blonde exclaimed shocked
Before Natsu could reply however, Lucy managed to trip over her own two feet and collapsed right into his arms. She jumped back immediately.
"I-I-I-I'm sorry!...Excuse me!" The blonde turned to leave, but a hand on her shoulder stopped her.
Suddenly she was turned to face the boy. Natsu took her chin between his forefinger and thumb and tilted her head up. Their eyes met for a short second before he pressed his lips against hers in a breathtaking kiss.
