Palm Thrust
A/N: Wow...I'm seriously bad at action scenes, I'll have you know. ~ It took me ages just to write that first paragraph... o-o;;; Anyway, I hope you like it! n_n
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto, or any of the characters affiliated with it, and this is merely a fan-based piece of work.
"Jyuuken!" With a single thrust of her palm, the tree splintered in two as the momentum drove her forward, and she let out a breath, panting, her Byakugan stretching further to sixty metres ahead of her as she took in the trees and saw the birds fly above her, squawking. Jumping backwards, she studied her aim and gave a firm nod. She had been a little shaky on her approach, but her palm had gone right through cleanly, and the tree was on the ground, splinters all around her. She stepped on a fragment of wood and heard it crunch underneath the feet as she then flipped backwards five times, successfully landing on her feet, wiping the sweat from her brow. Hinata grabbed some shuriken and aimed at the wooden dummy to her left, hitting the bullseye dead in the middle as she did another flip and threw them this time in the air to her left, also hitting the red mark straight on.
She had been training all day, and was far from exhausted. Her chakra was getting a little low, and she had a few bruises and scrapes along her arms and legs, but they would heal over time. She bent over and took her healing medicine out from her pocket, spreading it on her grazes, bruises and scrapes, feeling a tingling sensation as they began to close up, healed after a few seconds. Hinata regularly made this medicine not only for herself, but she liked to give it to people when they were low, as a small present. Shaking her fringe from her eyes, she ran forwards and raised her arm, her fingers tightly together in a cutting-motion, blue chakra emanating from her finger tips and hand as she sliced at the tree, before dodging an imaginary enemy and doing it again and again, sweat beading on her brow.
Okay, I think that should be enough for now, she though to herself with a smile, feeling blood dripping from her fingertips as she then frowned. I must have not applied enough chakra to cover my hand from the impact... I have to get it right next time... Deactivating her Byakugan, she slowly made her way out of the training grounds, applying some more of the healing medicine to her fingers, letting her hand dangle limply by her side as pain shot through her system. Well, it hadn't been as bad as it was last time – at least this time she hadn't nearly broken any of her fingers. She headed home and healed them a bit more before heading to the Godaime's office, walking up the stairs to it. Hinata knew that Sakura was already Tsunade's apprentice, but the young girl wanted to learn some more medical jutsu on par with that of Sakura's so she could heal her teammates if need be. She knew that the Godaime was usually extremely busy, and worried her lip, wondering if she should really go in. Hinata hesitated before knocking on the door, hearing a gruff voice telling her to come in.
She bowed politely and looked at Tsunade as she raised an eyebrow and drank her sake. "Do you wish to request anything, Hinata? You seem to be a little on edge."
Hinata gave her a tiny smile and shook her head. "A-ah, well...n-no, that's..." Trailing off, she cleared her throat, trying not to fidget with her fingers. "I was wondering if you could teach me some more medical jutsu. L-like...Sakura-chan. I-I understand if you're very busy, so I could come back another time, perhaps-"
"...No, no, that's fine by me. So you wish to learn medical jutsu, Hinata? It does take quite a long time to even learn the basics, and you must have extremely good chakra control." Looking at the young girl, she noted that since she was from the Hyuuga clan, she would probably have no problem with this. "Nevertheless, I am sure that you do, being from your clan who have exceptionally good chakra control. The Hyuuga are renowned for it."
"Y-yes, Tsunade-sama. The Hyuuga are one of the best clans in Konohagakure."
Tsunade snorted a little and shook her head, waving a finger at Hinata. "Now, let's not get too over our head. Now, your lessons will start early everyday, and you shall come to my office to learn and study from the textbooks here, and I will also take you to the hospital to study bodies of the deceased and teach you there."
"Y-yes."
Hinata listened to what Tsunade had to say, as the woman dismissed her shortly after, and Hinata let out a quiet sigh from outside her door.
This...was going to be challenging. But either way, she was prepared for it, and she would try to do her very best.
