disclaimer: I do not own -Man. Have I written one for the entire story yet? Anyway, thanks to those who reviewed, it's really appreciated. I wanted to get this chapter up sooner, but sadly, I wasn't able to. No excuses though. Read on!

Even though Allen had decided that the gang wouldn't find him, he was still paranoid and decided to stay the night as Lenalee's house. Well, that was one reason. he really just didn't want to listen to Cross and his 'friend' all night. When Lenalee opened the door to her house, they were met with a man in a beret and a girly shriek. "Oh Lenalee! where have you been, I've been worried sick. those octopi didn't do anything to you did they? If they touched you in any way I'll-"
The man was cut off by a kick in the face from Lenalee. "That's enough, brother. These are my friends, they would never do anything like that!"
The man - Lenalee's brother - groaned for a moment, and then finally stood up from where he had landed on the floor when she kicked him. "Yes, I recognize them now. You're Lavi and Allen. How have you been?"
"I'm fine, Komui." Lavi answered
Allen smiled. "Just fine Mr. Lee." he said
Komui laughed. "Oh, just Komui's fine. Anyway Allen, how are you liking Black Order High so far?"
"Pretty good, actually. It's better than all the other schools I've been to so far."
Komui smiled at that. it meant he was doing something right. he leaned in and whispered in his ear "I know you've had a pretty bad past, Allen, but just know if you ever need help, I'll be there. My office is always open to you if you need a place to go. I'm sure Lenalee will be there for you too. Lavi and even Kanda too, even if he wont' show it."
Allen smiled. It was nice to know he had some real friends. He'd had one once before, but he had committed suicide when his sister had died. If anyone was going to go suicidal though, he knew it would be him this time. But he had friends who would help him through it. His grin spread even wider. "Thanks." he said

The next day, Allen left early. He really didn't want Cross scolding him because he didn't come home. If he was lucky, Cross had either been to busy or drunk to check up on him and didn't even know he was gone. Of course, luck had never really been in his favor. Allen walked into his house, and was about to sneak upstairs, when he heard a voice behind him. "Where were you all night, brat?" it asked
Allen slowly turned around to see Cross. He was obviously drunk out of his mind. Great, just what he needed. He put a fake smile on his face. "I spent the night at a friends house 'cause I didn't want to hear you and your 'friend' all night." he said
Cross smirked. "Mhm, I bet you were banging your so called 'friend' just as hard as I was." he said
Allen seethed. How dare he say that? Lenalee was his friend, and nothing more. At least, that's what he told himself. Lately though, he had started to feel kind of nervous around her, and even blushed every once in a while. He shook those thoughts out of his head. He shouldn't be thinking about that kind of think. Especially with the kind of brother she had.
Allen looked at the clock. It was 8:05. 'Damn it, I'm going to be late for school!' he thought
he quickly grabbed his backpack and an apple, and flew out the door. He wasn't paying attention as he ran down the street. he decided to take a short cut in an alley way. It would be faster and he might must make it to school on time. It was still unlikely, but there was a chance. Allen was so absorbed in his thoughts, that he didn't notice the man blocking his way until he had run into him. He looked up, only to see the mans face hidden by his hat. "Oh, I'm sorry sir. I wasn't watching where I was going." Allen said, trying to stop any violence that might occur beforehand.
Allen had backed up, and was looking at the man now, waiting for a reaction. The man went to take off his hat. "I thought I had taught you your lesson a long time ago. You should know by now not to mess with us! It seems though, that you need some reminding..."
The man's hat was now off, and Allen could see his face perfectly. He gasped. It was him, the man who had gave him his arm and scar...

Briiiiiiing!
The bell signaling school rang, and Lavi, Lenalee and Kanda all met up outside the building. "Hey, has anyone seen Allen today?" Lenalee asked
"No, he wasn't in school. Why, does someone have a little crush on him?" Lavi teased
"O- Of course not!" Lenalee blushed. "I'm just worried. He seemed a little off yesterday, like someone was going to come out and jump him. Then there was the feeling of someone watching us. Allen had acted like he knew who it was."
"Yeah, that was a little strange." Lavi said, bringing his hand up to his chin and thinking. "Let's go look for him! He could just be sick." Lavi pointed out. Lavi and Lenalee started walking away, but Kanda stayed exactly where he was. "Are you coming?" Lenalee asked
"Che. Go by yourselves. I couldn't care less about the moyashi." he answered, walking away.
"Well okay then." Lavi said

When they reached Allen's house, Cross came to the door. "Sorry, he left for school today." he answered when they asked if he was home. "He should have been there, unless..." Cross's eyes widened. "Damn it." he muttered
"What?" Lenalee asked
Cross looked at her, then started mumbling. "No, of course he wouldn't tell them. I wouldn't want to endanger them."
"Tell us what?" Lavi asked
Cross looked up, and seemed to remember they were there. "The gang that gave him that scar is in town. They have a grudge against him, and were looking for him earlier." he said
Lavi and Lenalee's eyes widened. If they had gotten to him... there was no telling what had happened. They looked at each other, and ran out the door. "We have to find him!" Lenalee shouted
Lavi nodded, and they continued running. "I think he would have taken the short cut. It runs through an alley, so that would have been the best place for them to attack." Lavi said
Lenalee agreed, and they changed direction. Heading into the alley, they saw something that looked like blood. Lenalee gasped, and tried to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall. There was just so much blood. "L... Lavi, Le... Lenalee."
Their heads snapped to where the noise came from, and they gasped. Lenalee could no longer hold back the tears, and they ran freely down her face. She walked over to the person who had spoken. "Oh, Allen." she said
He was bloody and bruised. One of his eyes was black, and there was random cuts all over his body. What scared her the most though was the knife that was driven into his side, and the fact that his left arm was covered in blood. It was almost like it was... burned again.
"Lenalee... Lavi. You need to get out of here before they come back!" Allen pleaded.
Lenalee shook her head. "We're not leaving you!" Lavi said, grabbing hold of Allen's good arm. He dragged him up, and started carrying Allen to the hospital. Unable to hold out any longer, Allen lost consciousness half way there. Lenalee looked at Allen, at his injuries. He had told them to leave, even when he was hurt so badly. He wasn't asking for help or anything. Lenalee felt truly proud to know him. He was so kind, and always thought of others before himself. That scared her sometimes though. He probably often times neglects himself just so he can help someone. She didn't want to see that happen. As they walked to the hospital, Lenalee made a silent vow. She would protect Allen Walker, and be there for him until the end.

Well, there you go. There's the next chapter. I apologize for any mistakes that might be in here. It's really late, and I'm really tired. Not to mention auto correct hates me. Anyways, I hoped you like the chapter. Please review and tell me what you think. Remember, the more reviews I get, the faster I'll update... hopefully. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to bed.
