Thank you again to all those people who reviewed. I really appreciate it. I wanted to get this chapter up sooner, but I'm afraid I was a little busy. No excuses though. Anyway, I'm so excited for this story, I'm probably going to update every weekend at the least.
I better stop now before I start babbling though.
Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own D. Gray Man

A terrified scream pierced through the quiet of the almost empty house. The only occupant holding his head, trying to forget the awful dream he'd just had. White hair fell into his eyes, tears falling down his face. Why? Why her? Why was it he always lost the people who loved him? Who he loved? Why him?

Allen shuddered, and wiped the sweat off his forehead. It had been three days since Lenalee had been kidnapped, and two since he had received the call from the Noah. He sighed, and tried to forget the gruesome images that made up his dreams every night. Now though, they weren't just filled with memories, but also horrible images of what could be the nearby future.

No. He wouldn't let that happen. All of his dreams were filled with death, mostly Lenalee's death. If it was up to him, no one would die. But if someone had to, he would make sure it would be him. He couldn't let Lenalee - the love of his life - die at the hands of the Noah. They were horrible, rotten people. She didn't deserve a death like that. She deserved to grow up, find love, have children. She deserved to live a happy life, and die a peaceful death. No violence, just... peace.

He only wished that that person she would grow to love would be him.

Allen sighed, and got out of bed. He wouldn't go to school, but he couldn't stay in bed this time. He was too anxious. It was Thursday. He only had a few more days until he handed his life over. He knew that the gang would probably try to eliminate all witnesses, but he already had a plan in mind to stop them from doing just that. The only life that would be lost would be his.

He got out his phone and called Lavi. "Hello?" the red head answered
"Lavi, could you come over? I have some important news. If you could tell Komui too, that would be great." Allen still hadn't told them about the voicemail he had received two days ago. He had needed to think some things over before he did anything.
"Sure. I'll try to get Kanda to come too. Though I don't think he will. What do you need to tell us?"
"You'll find out when you get here." Allen replied, hanging up. He sighed and got some food. As he ate, he thought things through. He thought about his cover story, and what he would say when they finally found out the truth. He grimaced, he didn't like lying to his friends, but he had too. Their lives depended on it.

A swift knock sounded on his door. Allen quickly got up, and opened it, only to see a mop of red hair. Lavi looked less excited and hyper than usual. Lenalee being kidnapped had taken it's toll on him also. When he came in, Komui followed wordlessly. he looked even worse off than Lavi, probably worse than Allen too. He was her big brother after all. It was his job to protect her, and he thought he failed.

When he spoke that though, Lavi and Allen immediately disagreed. "Komui, there was no way you could have known what would happen. It's not your fault. If anything, it's mine. I should have paid more attention to the warning he had given me. I could have stopped this, but I decided to ignore the signs. It's not your fault Komui, so don't go blaming yourself." Allen said
Komui shook his head. "Even so, I promised out parents that I'd protect her. Even if it wasn't my fault, I still failed them." he looked down, ashamed.
"Then get off your ass, and go find her!" a new voice said
Everyone turned their heads to see Kanda standing in the door way. "If your so intent on keeping your promise, then stop sitting there wallowing in self pity. If you really cared about her, then you'd get your damn ass out there and find her! You could be doing something right now, so I suggest you do it. You too moyashi. If your so determined that it's your fault, do something and find her!"

All of their eyes widened. They hadn't expected Kanda to show up, let alone give an almighty speech.
"Awe... Yu really does care!" Lavi said
Kanda growled, taking out his beloved mugen and holding it to his throat. "I told you not to call me that, baka usagi." he said
Lavi nodded, and gulped. "You still care though." he said
"Che, I'm just tired of listening to your whining." he said

Komui, Allen and Lavi all sweat dropped. It wasn't really surprising though, that was just how Kanda was. "Y-you're right, Kanda." Komui admitted. "Allen, what did you want to talk to us about?" he asked

Allen cleared his throat and began his explanation. "A couple of days ago, I received a voicemail. It was one of the members of the gang the Noah. His name is Tyki Mikk, and he said that they were indeed the one's who kidnapped Lenalee. We are to meet him behind the school on Sunday, and the price will be negotiated there. I assume that they are going to want money or something, even though you can't put a price tag on someone's life."
Lavi nodded, but then anger showed in his eyes. "And why didn't you tell us about this earlier?" he asked
Allen winced. "I needed to think some things through. I felt this was the best time to tell you." he answered
Lavi nodded, and the anger in his eyes receded a bit, but was still there.

They spent the rest of the day planning their strategy and thinking about what price they were going to ask for. Whenever someone tried to bring up the fact that they might want to hurt Allen, he quickly changed it saying that they wouldn't do that, it wasn't their style.

After Lavi and Komui left, Kanda walked up to Allen. He grabbed the collar of his shirt and slammed him against the wall. "Why were you lying?" he snarled
Allen's eyes widened, and he feigned a look of innocence. "What do you mean?" he asked nervously
Kanda let him go, and stepped back, scoffing. "Oh, don't pretend I didn't notice moyashi. Don't pretend I didn't notice that whenever someone brought up the fact that they might be trying to get to you, you scrambled to change the topic. Tell me the truth you damn brat, before I run you through with mugen!" he said, holding his sword threateningly.

Allen sighed, and slid down the wall into a sitting position. "The voicemail said that they would trade Lenalee over for me. I don't want them to know Kanda, please don't tell them!" he begged
Kanda 'che'd and sat beside him. "Why shouldn't I? I'm not one to withhold information." he smirked
Allen groaned. He had seen this coming. "Please, Kanda. They have enough to worry about, they don't need to be worrying about me also." Allen pleaded
"Che. Fine moyashi. Go get yourself killed." Kanda replied, standing up.
"Kanda?" Allen called
Kanda stopped and turned around, giving him an expectant look.
"You really do care, don't you?" he asked
"Shut up. Like I said, I was just tired of your whining. Don't perceive my words the wrong way moyashi." he said, walking away
Allen grinned. "The name's Allen!" he called out
his grin widened as he heard the familiar 'tch' reply.

Kanda wasn't totally right. He definitely didn't plan on dying. If there was any way around that fate, he would find it.
After finally excepting his feelings for Lenalee, he couldn't just let go. Not now, not ever.

So, how was that chapter? I know it was pretty short, but...
Nah, I'm lying. It's not over yet.
Back to the story!

Lenalee opened her eyes when she heard the door open. She looked up to see a handsome man with curly black hair walk into the room.
"Hello there, pretty lady. My name is Tyki Mikk, pleasure to meet you." he said, coming to stand next to her and holding out his hand.
She hesitantly took it, keeping her eyes narrowed.
"Now, now. What's with that look? I'm not going to do anything to you, well I'm not going to kill you. There's nothing saying I can't harm you though, even if that boy didn't want me to."
Lenalee's eyes widened. No, this couldn't be happening, not yet.

The man in front of her gave her a malicious smile, and pulled out a knife...

A scream of pain echoed through the empty halls. No one heard it, and no one would come and help...

Allen woke up sweating and nervous. He'd had another dream. It was finally Sunday, and they had been getting worse and worse all week. This one had really shaken him up.

When he got to the school, the only thing he saw was Tyki holding a giant sac. When he saw Allen, he smiled maniacally, and dumped the contents of the bag on the ground, a lifeless body, no Lenalee, fell on the ground.

Allen ran over to her, and held her in his arms. There was a dead look in her eyes, but there was a pulse. Tyki smiled again. "She's not dead, but she's not alive either. I guess you'd say she's somewhere in between. She still has feelings, and can comprehend what she sees, hears, and feels, but she can't move or speak. So I guess you could say she's just a dead body with a mind that's still living.

Allen felt tears run down his cheeks. This was a fate worse than death. To be alive, but to be able to do nothing but watch, and listen. It was agony. He screamed for Lenalee, knowing that's probably what she wanted to do now.

Tyki's grin widened even more, and he pulled a knife out from his pocket. "I'm going to let her watch you suffer, boy." he said
Allen screamed as the knife was pressed down into his back. It was a fatal wound, he knew that. He also knew that it would take a long time for him to finally die.

as he collapsed on the ground, the world slowly fading to black, he saw a single tear run down Lenalee's face...

The dream agitated him. It had been the most realistic, and he had actually felt the pain when Tyki had stabbed him.

A tear ran down his face as he remembered the dead look in Lenalee's eyes. He sincerely hoped that Lenalee would ever end up like that. It was a fate worse than death. He had been like that for a while after Mana died, until the hunger had snapped him out of it.

It was like torture.

He sighed, and checked the time. 11:43 am. Midnight felt a long ways away. He called Lavi and Komui over, and they went over their plan one last time. Allen secretly went over his own plan in his head while they worked.

It had to work. If it didn't, they'd probably all be dead. He had gotten Kanda in on it. If no one came back, he would send a message to the police saying exactly who all of the members of the Noah were and where all of their various locations were. Allen had done his research.

There was no where they could run. Even if everyone came back, Kanda would still send the message. It would work, he knew it. It had to.

At 11:45 pm, Allen, Lavi and Komui set out for the school. They had been preparing all day, and they were prepared for anything. Well... almost anything. They still didn't know what Allen was going to do.

They arrived at the school a little after midnight, and there they saw Tyki. They walked up, leaving a little bit of distance between them, and looked around. There was a car on the side of the road. That's where they guessed Lenalee was being held.

"Hello, boy." Tyki said
Allen's eyes narrowed. "Where's Lenalee?" he asked
"She's right over there. Skin, bring the girl out, will you?" Tyki called
they watched as a muscular man pulled someone out of the car, and brought them over. As they got closer, they could indeed see that it was Lenalee, and they could also see she was in bad shape.

Allen growled. "I thought I told you not to touch her!" he snarled
Tyki shrugged. "I got bored." he said
Rage filled Allen to the brim. How dare he? Using Lenalee as some sort of toy when he was bored? What kind of monster would do that?

Tyki's eyes narrowed. "You know the price boy, get over here." Lenalee's eyes opened, and she looked around for a second, confused.
"Allen, what's he mean?" Lavi asked
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you Lavi, but the price for getting Lenalee back was for me to go with them. I didn't want you to worry."

Allen started walking towards them as Skin set Lenalee down, and pushed her towards him. "Allen, what are you doing? Don't give up your life for mine, please! Don't go, let me go back!" she cried
Allen shook his head. "I'm sorry Lenalee, I have to." sadness filled his eyes, and those of Lavi's and Komui's as they watched helplessly. More Noahs had surrounded them, they were outnumbered. There was no way they could win a fight. Allen leaned in and whispered in Lenalee's ear "When you guys get back, Kanda will send the police a message with all of the Noah's identities and all of their various locations." he began talking normally again. "Please, Lenalee, go live your life. Don't dwell on me. I... I love you, Lenalee."

Her eyes widened as he said those words. She opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off when Allen kissed her. She closed her eyes, and leaned into it, relishing this moment. When he broke away, there were more tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry." he said again.

He turned away, and started walking towards the gang that had killed his father. "I'll never forget you, Allen! You better come back! I love you! We all do!" Lenalee shouted
He turned his head, and gave her a small smile, and as they pushed him into the car, he gave one final wave. They started to drive away, and he turned around to see Lenalee crying, trying to run after the car, while Lavi was holding her back, a horrified look on his face.

As he moved farther and farther away from the best friends he'd ever had, he finally let the tears he had been holding back all day fall. No longer could they be held in, and they streamed down his face in a waterfall of emotions.

Tyki grinned as he watched the white haired boy sob.

This was going to be fun...

Okay, now the chapter's over. Like I said, this story is going to get depressing. I almost cried writing this chapter.
Anyway, I hope you liked the chapter. As I said earlier, I'm probably going to start doing really quick updates, and I'm thinking of making a sequel to this. I also have two new ideas for stories, and... have already started on them. I'm not going to publish them until I finish this story and it's sequel probably though. I might though, it just depends. If I did, there would be pretty slow updates on them, as this story would be my main focus. It will probably just be easier to wait.
Anyways, please R&R. Let me know if you see any mistakes and share your thoughts.
